Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces for smart wireless environments:channel estimation, system design and applications in 6G networks显示文摘Reconfigurable intelligent surface(RIS),one of the key enablers for the sixth-generation(6G)mobile communication networks,is considered by designers to smartly reconfigure the wireless propagation environment in a controllable and programmable manner.Specifically,an RIS consists of a large number of low-cost and passive reflective elements(REs)without radio frequency chains. The system gain of RIS wireless systems can be achieved by adjusting the phase shifts and amplitudes of the REs so that the desired signals can be added constructively at the receiver. However,an RIS typically has limited signal processing capability and cannot perform active transmitting/receiving in general, which leads to new challenges in the physical layer design of RIS wireless systems. In this paper,we provide an overview of the RIS-aided wireless systems, including the reflection principle, channel estimation, and system design. In particular, two types of emerging RIS systems are considered:RIS-aided wireless communications(RAWC)and RISbased information transmission(RBIT),where the RIS plays the role of the reflector and the transmitter, respectively. We also envision the potential applications of RIS in 6G networks. | Ying-Chang LIANG Jie CHEN Ruizhe LONG Zhen-Qing HE Xianqi LIN Chenlu HUANG Shilin LIU Xuemin(Sherman)SHEN Marco DI RENZO | 2021 | Science China(Information Sciences)2021,64,10: | 12
Interactive effects of understory removal and fertilization on soil respiration in subtropical Eucalyptus plantations显示文摘Aims It has been well recognized that understory vegetation plays an important role in driving forest ecosystem processes and functioning. In subtropical plantation forests, understory removal and fertiliza-tion have been widely applied;however, our understanding on how understory removal affects soil respiration and how the process is regulated by fertilization is limited. Here,we conducted an under-story removal experiment combined with fertilization to evaluate the effects of the two forest management practices and their inter-actions on soil respiration in subtropical forest in southern China. Methods The study was conducted in a split-plot design with fertilization as the whole-plot factor, understory removal as the subplot factor and block as the random factor in subtropical Eucalyptus plantations. In total, there were four treatments:control with unfertilized and intact understory(CK),understory removal but without fertilization(UR),with fertilization but without understory removal(FT)and with fertilization+understory removal(FT+UR).Eucalyptus above-and belowground biomass increment, fine root biomass, soil tempera-ture,soil moisture and soil respiration were measured in the present study.understory respiration(Ru)was quantified in different ways:Ru=RCK−Ru or Ru=RFT−R(FT+u);fertilization increased soil respiration(RFI)was also quantified in different ways:RFI=RFT−RCK or RFI=R(FT+u)−Ru.Important Findingsover a 2-year experiment, our data indicate that understory removal significantly decreased soil respiration, while fertilization increased soil respiration.understory removal decreased soil respiration by 28.8%under fertilization, but only 15.2%without fertilization.Fertilization significantly increased soil respiration by 23.6%with the presence of understory vegetation, and only increased by 3.7%when understory was removed, indicating that fertilization increased soil respiration mainly by increasing the contribution of the understory.our study advances our understanding of the interactive effects of understory management and fertilization on soil respiration in subtropical plantations. | Songze Wan Chenlu Zhang Yuanqi Chen Jie Zhao Xiaolin Zhu Jianping Wu Lixia Zhou Yongbiao Lin Zhanfeng Liu Shenglei Fu | 2015 | Journal of Plant Ecology2015,8,3: | 6
Temperature-induced Lifshitz transition in topological insulator candidate HfTe_5显示文摘The ongoing discoveries and studies of novel topological quantum materials have become an emergent and important field of condensed matter physics.Recently,HfTe_5 ignited renewed interest as a candidate of a novel topological material. The single-layer HfTe_5 is predicted to be a two-dimensional large band gap topological insulator and can be stacked into a bulk that may host a temperature-driven topological phase transition.Historically,HfTe_5 attracted considerable interest for its anomalous transport properties characterized by a peculiar resistivity peak accompanied by a sign reversal carrier type. The origin of the transport anomaly remains under a hot debate. Here we report the first high-resolution laser-based angle-resolved photoemission measurements on the temperature-dependent electronic structure in HfTe_5.Our results indicated that a temperature-induced Lifshitz transition occurs in HfTe_5,which provides a natural understanding on the origin of the transport anomaly in HfTe_5.In addition, our observations suggest that HfTe_5 is a weak topological insulator that is located at the phase boundary between weak and strong topological insulators at very low temperature. | Yan Zhang Chenlu Wang Guodong Liu Aiji Liang Lingxiao Zhao Jianwei Huang Qiang Gao Bing Shen Jing Liu Cheng Hu Wenjuan Zhao Genfu Chen Xiaowen Jia Li Yu Lin Zhao Shaolong He Fengfeng Zhang Shenjin Zhang Feng Yang Zhimin Wang Qinjun Peng Zuyan Xu Chuangtian Chen Xingjiang Zhou | 2017 | Science Bulletin2017,62,13: | 4
Prediction of radiosensitivity in primary central nervous system germ cell tumors using dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the feasibility of dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging(DCEMRI) for predicting tumor response to radiotherapy in patients with suspected primary central nervous system(CNS) germ cell tumors(GCTs).Methods: DCE-MRI parameters of 35 patients with suspected primary CNS GCTs were obtained prior to diagnostic radiation, using the Tofts and Kermode model. Radiosensitivity was determined in tumors diagnosed 2 weeks after radiation by observing changes in tumor size and markers as a response to MRI. Taking radiosensitivity as the gold standard, the cut-off value of DCE-MRI parameters was measured by receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve. Diagnostic accuracy of DCE-MRI parameters for predicting radiosensitivity was evaluated by ROC curve. Results: A significant elevation in transfer constant(Ktrans) and extravascular extracellular space(Ve)(P=0.000), as well as a significant reduction in rate constant(Kep)(P=0.000) was observed in tumors. Ktrans, relative Ktrans, and relative Kep of the responsive group were significantly higher than non-responsive groups. No significant difference was found in Kep, Ve, and relative Ve between the two groups. Relative Ktrans showed the best diagnostic value in predicting radiosensitivity with a sensitivity of 100%, specificity of 91.7%, positive predictive value(PPV) of 95.8%, and negative predictive value(NPV) of 100%.Conclusions: Relative Ktrans appeared promising in predicting tumor response to radiation therapy(RT). It is implied that DCE-MRI pre-treatment is a requisite step in diagnostic procedures and a novel and reliable approach to guide clinical choice of RT. | Chenlu Feng Peiyi Gao Xiaoguang Qiu Tianyi Qian Yan Lin Jian Zhou Binbin Sui | 2015 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2015,27,3: | 3
Visualizing DC morphology and T cell motility to characterize DC-T cell encounters in mouse lymph nodes under mTOR inhibition显示文摘Mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR),a serine/threonine kinase orchestrating cellular metabolism,is a crucial immune system regulator. However,it remains unclear how mTOR regulates dendritic cell(DC) function in vivo, especially DC-T cell encounters,a critical step for initiating adaptive immune responses. We dynamically visualized DC-T contacts in mouse lymph node using confocal microscopy and established an encounter model to characterize the effect of mTOR inhibition on DC-T cell encounters using DC morphology.Quantitative data showed mTOR inhibition via rapamycin altered DC shape, with an increased form factor(30.17%) and decreased cellular surface area(20.36%) and perimeter(22.43%),which were associated with Cdc42 protein downregulation(52.71%).Additionally,DCs adopted a similar morphological change with Cdc42 inhibition via ZCL278 as that observed with mTOR inhibition. These morphologically altered DCs displayed low encounter rates with T cells.Time-lapse imaging data of T cell motility supported the simulated result of the encounter model, where antigen-specific T cells appeared to reduce arrest in the lymph nodes of rapamycin-pretreated mice relative to the untreated group. Therefore,mTOR inhibition altered DC morphology in vivo and decreased the DC-T cell encounter rate,as well as Cdc42 inhibition.By establishing an encounter model, our study provides an intuitive approach for the early prediction of DC function through morphological quantification of form factor and area. | Qiaoya Lin Zheng Liu Meijie Luo Hao Zheng Sha Qiao Chenlu Han Deqiang Deng Zhan Fan Yafang Lu Zhihong Zhang Qingming Luo | 2019 | Science China(Life Sciences)2019,62,9: | 2

Optimization of Hybrid Crystal with SAPO-5/34 on Hydrothermal Stability for deNOx Reaction by NH3显示文摘In order to deal with the challenge of the hydrothermal deactivation of selective catalytic reduction of NO by NH3(NH3-SCR)catalyst and extend its lifetime,a novel Cu/SAPO-5/34 catalyst was prepared, and it almostmaintains its deNOx performance with a high conversion rate of 90%NO,between 175℃and 400℃after under-going the rigorous treatment at 800℃for 12 h.Thus,Cu/SAPO-5/34 is more recalcitrant to the high-temperature hydrothermal deactivation than Cu/SAPO-34.Besides,the formation of N20 is always below 3×10^-6(3 ppm)during the whole reaction temperature.performing an advanced catalytic selectivity. The effect of high-temperature hvdro-thermal treatment on the morphology, structure and texture property, the acid sites,as well as the active copper spe cies were investigated. These characterizations manifest that the optimized high-temperature hydrothermal stability is associated closely with the good structural stability over Cu/SAPO-5/34-HT.which facilitates to preserve reaction sites, and then showing the better hydrothermal stability than Cu/SAPO-34. | LIN Qingjin LIN Chenlu LIU Jingying LIU Shuang XU Haidi CHEN Yaoqiang DAN Yi | 2020 | Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2020,36,6: | 0
Mesoporous radiosensitized nanoprobe for enhanced NIR-Ⅱ photoacoustic imaging-guided accurate radio-chemotherapy显示文摘Oxygen deficiency is a major obstacle to hypoxic-related cancer theranostics, and developing the oxygen production nanoplatforms received the widespread attention. However,it is remaining a challenge to structure a nanoplatform with hypoxia alleviation effect and imaging-guided cancer radiotherapy.Herein,we present a novel theranostics nanoplatform(Au NPs/UCNPs/WO_(3)@C)comprising of tungsten trioxide(WO3)that loaded gold nanoparticles(Au NPs)and up-conversion nanoparticles(UCNPs)for improved photoacoustic(PA)imaging performance in the second near infrared window(NIR-Ⅱ,900-1,700 nm).Au NPs/UCNPs/WO_(3)@C exhibited superior oxygen-generation effect and doxorubicin loading capacity, thus serving as an efficient radiosensitizer for radio-chemo anti-cancer therapy.Importantly, the accumulated Au NPs/UCNPs/WO_(3)@C in the tumor region led to the increased NIR-Ⅱ PA imaging signal and the blood oxygen saturation signal, which could enhance radiation sensitivity and accurately guiding cancer radiotherapy to reduce side effects on normal tissues. This study with proof-of-concept confirmed the multifaceted characteristics and encouraging potential of biomimetic Au NPs/UCNPs/WO_(3)@C for NIR-Ⅱ PA imaging-guided tumor therapeutics. | Tao Chen Lichao Su Lisen Lin Xiaoguang Ge Feicheng Bai Meng Niu Chenlu Wang Jibin Song Shaolei Guo Huanghao Yang | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,5: | 0
