1Recent Advances of Persistent Luminescence Nanoparticles in Bioapplications显示文摘Persistent luminescence phosphors are a novel group of promising luminescent materials with afterglow properties after the stoppage of excitation.In the past decade,persistent luminescence nanoparticles(PLNPs)with intriguing optical properties have attracted a wide range of attention in various areas.Especially in recent years,the development and applications in biomedical fields have been widely explored.Owing to the efficient elimination of the autofluorescence interferences from biotissues and the ultra-long near-infrared afterglow emission,many researches have focused on the manipulation of PLNPs in biosensing,cell tracking,bioimaging and cancer therapy.These achievements stimulated the growing interest in designing new types of PLNPs with desired superior characteristics and multiple functions.In this review,we summarize the works on synthesis methods,bioapplications,biomembrane modification and biosafety of PLNPs and highlight the recent advances in biosensing,imaging and imaging-guided therapy.We further discuss the new types of PLNPs as a newly emerged class of functional biomaterials for multiple applications.Finally,the remaining problems and challenges are discussed with suggestions and prospects for potential future directions in the biomedical applications.Shuqi Wu Yang Li Weihang Ding Letong Xu Yuan Ma Lianbing Zhang 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,6:8
2Oxygenation,inflammatory response and lung injury during one lung ventilation in rabbits using inspired oxygen fraction of 0.6 vs.1.0显示文摘Maintaining adequate oxygenation during one-lung ventilation(OLV) requires high inspired oxygen fraction(FiO_2).However,high FiO_2 also causes inflammatory response and lung injury.Therefore,it remains a great interest to clinicians and scientists to optimize the care of patients undergoing OLV.The aim of this study was to determine and compare oxygenation,inflammatory response and lung injury during OLV in rabbits using FiO_2 of 0.6 vs.1.0.After 30 minutes of two-lung ventilation(TLV) as baseline,30 rabbits were randomly assigned to three groups receiving mechanical ventilation for 3 hours:the sham group,receiving TLV with 0.6 FiO_2;the 1.0 FiO_2 group,receiving OLV with 1.0 FiO_2;the 0.6 FiO_2 group,receiving OLV with 0.6 FiO_2.Pulse oximetry was continuously monitored and arterial blood gas analysis was intermittently conducted.Histopathologic study of lung tissues was performed and inflammatory cytokines and the mRNA and protein of nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB) p65 were determined.Three of the 10 rabbits in the 0.6 FiO_2 group suffered hypoxemia,defined by pulse oximetric saturation(SpO_2) less than 90%.Partial pressure of oxygen(PaO_2),acute lung injury(ALI) score,myeloperoxidase(MPO),tumor necrosis factor-a(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6),mRNA and protein of NF-kB p65 were lower in the 0.6 FiO_2group than in the 1.0 FiO_2 group.In conclusion,during OLV,if FiO_2 of 0.6 can be tolerated,lung injury associated with high FiO_2 can be minimized.Further study is needed to validate this finding in human subjects.Zeping Xu Lianbing Gu Qingming Bian Pengyi Li Lijun Wang Jingyuan Zhang Yanning Qian 2017The Journal of Biomedical Research2017,31,1:7
3Isolation and characterization of glacier VMY22, a novel lytic cold-active bacteriophage of Bacillus cereus显示文摘As a unique ecological system with low temperature and low nutrient levels, glaciers are considered a 'living fossil' for the research of evolution. In this work, a lytic cold-active bacteriophage designated VMY22 against Bacillus cereus MYB41-22 was isolated from Mingyong Glacier in China, and its characteristics were studied. Electron microscopy revealed that VMY22 has an icosahedral head(59.2 nm in length, 31.9 nm in width) and a tail(43.2 nm in length). Bacteriophage VMY22 was classified as a Podoviridae with an approximate genome size of 18 to 20 kb. A one-step growth curve revealed that the latent and the burst periods were 70 and 70 min, respectively, with an average burst size of 78 bacteriophage particles per infected cell. The pH and thermal stability of bacteriophage VMY22 were also investigated. The maximum stability of the bacteriophage was observed to be at pH 8.0 and it was comparatively stable at p H 5.0–9.0. 4Changes in compressed neurons from dogs with acute and severe cauda equina constrictions following intrathecal injection of brain-derived neurotrophic factor-conjugated polymer nanoparticles显示文摘This study established a dog model of acute multiple cauda equina constriction by experimental constriction injury (48 hours) of the lumbosacral central processes in dorsal root ganglia neurons. The repair effect of intrathecal injection of brain-derived neurotrophic factor with 15 mg encapsulated biodegradable poly(lactide-co-glycolide) nanoparticles on this injury was then analyzed. Dorsal root ganglion cells (L7) of all experimental dogs were analyzed using hematoxylin-eosin staining and immunohistochemistry at 1, 2 and 4 weeks following model induction. Intrathecal injection of brain-derived neurotrophic factor can relieve degeneration and inflammation, and elevate the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor in sensory neurons of compressed dorsal root ganglion. Simultaneously, intrathecal injection of brain-derived neurotrophic factor obviously improved neurological function in the dog model of acute multiple cauda equina constriction. 5Self-assembled fluorescent tripeptide nanoparticles for bioimaging and drug delivery applications显示文摘Peptide self-assembled nanomaterials have attracted more and more attention due to their wide applications such as drug delive ry,cell imaging,and real-time drug monitoring.However,the application of the peptide is still limited by its inherent optical properties.Here we proposed and prepared a series of fluorescent tripeptide nanoparticles(TPNPs)through π-π stacking and zinc coordination.The experimental results show that the nanoparticles(TPNPs1)formed by the self-assembly of the tripeptide tryptophan-tryptophan-tryptophan have the highest fluorescence intensity,uniform and appropriate size,and low cytotoxicity.Furthermore,there was fluorescence resonance between TPNPs1 and doxorubicin,which has been successfully applied for real-time cell imaging and drug release monitoring.Dongjie Fu Dingchang Liu Lianbing Zhang Leming Sun 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,12:2

9Kinetically regulated one-pot synthesis of cationic gold nanoparticles and their size-dependent antibacterial mechanism显示文摘Cationic gold nanoparticles(cAuNPs)have been regarded as promising candidates for antibacterial applications due to their high surface charge density,favorable biocompatibility,and controllable surface chemistry.Nevertheless,the complicated fabrication process and unclear antibacterial mechanism have greatly hindered the further biomedical application of cAuNPs.Herein,we have developed a simple and controllable strategy for synthesizing cAuNPs with tailored size and antibacterial behavior by kinetically modulating the reaction process.Specifically,a functional ligand,(11-mercaptoundecyl)-N,N,Ntrimethylammonium bromide(MUTAB),was chosen to chemically manipulate the positive surface charge of cAuNPs via a one-step strategy.The size of cAuNPs could be flexibly adjusted from 1.1 to 14.8 nm by simply elevating the stirring speed of the reaction from 0 to 1500 rpm.Further studies revealed that the antibacterial effect of cAuNPs was strongly correlated with the particle size.MUTAB-protected ultrasmall gold nanoclusters(MUTAB-AuNCs)were able to eradicate E.coli at a concentration as low as 1.25μg mL^(-1),while the minimum inhibitory concentration of MUTAB-AuNPs with a large size for E.coli was 5μg mL^(-1).Mechanistic investigation revealed that MUTAB-AuNPs were able to damage the bacterial membrane and stimulate the production of reactive oxygen species more effectively than MUTAB-AuNCs.Conversely,MUTAB-AuNCs were more active in inducing membrane depolarization in contrast to MUTAB-AuNPs,suggesting the unique size-dependent antibacterial manner of cAuNPs.This study presents a new strategy for the controlled preparation of cAuNPs with distinct sizes and antibacterial behavior,laying a valuable foundation for developing efficient cationic NP-based bactericidal agents.Chenqiang Shen Yumeng Xue Yixiao Li Mengying Wei Mengyao Wen Lianbing Zhang Li Shang 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,31:1

13支气管阻塞器用于胸腔镜下肺癌术患者单肺通气的效果(英文)显示文摘Objective:The aim of this study was to observe the effect of endobronchial blocker tube in the pulmonary carcinoma with video-assisted thoracic surgery.Methods:Forty patients of pulmonary carcinoma with video-assisted thoracic surgery were randomly assigned into two groups with twenty cases each:endobronchial blocker tube group(group 1) and double-lumen endobronchial tube group(group 2).After anesthesia was induced,in group 1,single lumen tube was intubated at first,and then endobronchial blocker tube intubated to left or right primary bronchus under the guidance of fiber-optic bronchoscope according to operational necessary,injected 2-4 mL air to blocker balloon and blocker one lateral primary bronchus for one-lung ventilation necessarily;while in group 2,the position of double-lumen endobronchial tube was confirmed with fiber-optic bronchoscope after intubation.Blood samples were collected before anesthesia induction,double lumen ventilation,at the one-lung ventilation of 5 min,30 min,60 min,120 min and 180 min,SBP,DBP,HR,SpO2,partial pressure of end tidal carbon dioxide(PetCO2),pH,PaO2,PaCO2,PaO2/FiO2 were recorded.Results:Forty cases' intubations were all successful.There were no differences in SBP,DBP,HR,SpO2,PetCO2,pH,PaCO2 between two groups in different points(P > 0.05).Paw in group 1 was lower than group 2,PaO2 and PaO2/FiO2 in group 1 was higher than group 2 in the one lung ventilation of 5 min,30 min,60 min,120 min and 180 min.Conclusion:The endobronchial blocker tube can meet the request of video-assisted thoracic surgery,with the special advantages of simple insertion,lower airway and better oxygenation.Endobronchial blocker tube offer a new way for one-lung ventilation in the pulmonary carcinoma with video-assisted thoracic surgery.Lairong Sun Lianbing Gu Bihui Ren Ninglei Qju Lijun Wang 2011The Chinese-German Journal of Clinical Oncology2011,10,4:1

15Cationic antibacterial metal nanoclusters with traceable capability for fluorescent imaging the nano–bio interactions显示文摘A thorough understanding of antimicrobial mechanism is of great importance for developing novel,efficient antibacterial agents.While cationic nanoparticles,such as metal nanoclusters(NCs),represent an attractive type of antibacterial nanoagents,their interactions with bacteria remains largely un-elucidated.Herein,we report the synthesis of cationic bovine serum albuminprotected AuAgNCs(cBSA-AuAgNCs),which exhibit both near-infrared(NIR)fluorescence properties and significant antimicrobial effects.With E.coli and S.aureus as the representative bacteria,we investigated the antimicrobial process of cBSAAuAgNCs in real-time based on their intrinsic fluorescence properties via fluorescence imaging.Our results showed that these cBSA-AuAgNCs exert their antimicrobial effects primarily by attaching on the outer membrane of bacteria without obvious internalization,which is significantly different from the antibacterial process of negatively-charged metal NCs.Further mechanistic investigation showed that these cationic NCs will cause serious disruption to the bacterial membrane due to strong electrostatic interactions,which then leads to over accumulation of reactive oxygen species(ROS)that finally causes the bactericidal action.This study demonstrates the great potential of cationic luminescent metal NCs as novel,traceable antimicrobial agents,which also provides new tools for further understanding microbial interactions of nanomedicines.Yixiao Li Shaohua Qu Yumeng Xue Lianbing Zhang Li Shang 2023Nano Research2023,16,1:0

17老年食管癌患者围术期T淋巴细胞亚群的变化(英文)显示文摘Objective:The aim of the study was to observe and compare the trend of T-lymphocyte subsets in the elder and adult esophageal carcinoma patients postoperatively. Methods: Forty-four esophageal carcinoma patients, classified as ASA physical status I-II, were divided into two groups. Twenty-two patients aged than 65 years were grouped as elder patient group, and the rest twenty-two patients, served as adult patient group, were younger than 60 years old. The jugular venous blood samples were collected before induction of anesthesia (T1) as baseline, after completion of surgery (T2), on the first, second and fifth postoperative days (T3, T4 and T5), respectively. The blood counts of CD3+, CD4+ and CD8+T-lymphocyte were measured by flow cytometer. Results: Compared with the baseline level, the blood CD3+, CD4+ and CD4/CD8 levels were significantly decreased immediately after surgery, on the first and second postoperative days in the two groups (P<0.01), which returned to baseline values on the fifth postoperative day (P>0.05). On the fifth postoperative day, CD3+, CD4+ and CD4/CD8 levels in adult group were significantly higher than those in elder group (P<0.05). 18Research on English Translation of Chinese Literary Terms from the Perspective of International Communication: Interpretation and Standardization显示文摘Literary terms are the crystallization of Chinese ideology and wisdom. Translation and communication function as an important link in the construction of the discourse system with Chinese characteristics. Standardized translation of literary terms is an important way to help the world understand China and promote international communication of Chinese culture, which is conducive to the inheritance and interpretation of fine traditional Chinese culture. From the perspective of the 'going global' strategy of Chinese culture in the new era, and the existing asymmetry of English translation of Chinese literary terms in international cultural communication, we analyzed the divergence, variation and imposed interpretation of the translations of Chinese literary terms and put forward some suggestions for their standardization. We believe that the translation of Chinese literary terms should adhere to the principle of 'localization' in cultural communication and focus on the transmission of Chinese cultural connotation to correct the imposed interpretations of Chinese literature in the West. Standardizing the translations of literary terms will facilitate the communication of 'Chinese knowledge' to the world.
