| 1 | The Late Mesozoic Orogenic Processes of Mongolia-Okhotsk Orogen: Evidence from Field Investigations into Deformation of the Mohe Area, NE China显示文摘Based on field investigation in 1999, two deformational domains with d ifferent dynamics have been distinguished from the Jurassic geological outcrops in the Mohe area of NE China, i.e. northern ductile and southern plastic-brittl e ones. Their deformational features are stated in this paper. | 2 | Clinical Observation of Transepithelial Corneal Collagen Cross-linking by Iontophoresis of Riboflavin in Treatment of Keratoconus显示文摘Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of transepithelial collagen cross-linking by iontophoretic delivery of riboflavin in treatment of progressive keratoconus.Methods:.Eleven patients(15 eyes) with progressive keratoconus were enrolled. After 0.1% riboflavin-distilled water solution was deliveried via transepithelial iontophpresis for 5 min with 1 m A current, and ultraviolet radiation(370 nm,.3 m W /cm2) was performed at a 1.5 cm distance for 30 min. The follow up were 6 months in all eyes. The uncorrected visual acuity, corrected visual acuity,endothelial cell counting, corneal thickness,.intraocular pressure, corneal curvature, corneal topography,.OCT and corneal opacity before and 6-month after surgery were analyzed.Results: At 6 month postoperatively, mean uncorrected visual acuity and corrected visual acuity changed from 0.36 to 0.30 and from 0.42 to 0.57 without statistical significance..The mean value of each index of corneal curvature declined without statistical significance.Kmax value dereased from 60.91 to59.91, and the astigmatism declined from 3.86 to 3.19. Central corneal thickness decreased from 460.93 μm to 455.40μm,.and thinnest corneal thickness declined from 450.87 μm to 440.60 μm with no statistical significance..Intraocular pressure was significantly elevated from 10.85 mm Hg to 12.62 mm Hg. Endothelial cell count did not change significantly. No corneal haze occurred. | 3 | Intestinal lysozyme liberates Nod1 ligands from microbes to direct insulin trafficking in pancreatic beta cells显示文摘Long-range communication between intestinal symbiotic bacteria and extra-intestinal organs can occur through circulating bacterial signal molecules, through neural circuits, or through cytokines or hormones from host cells. Here we report that Nod1 ligands derived from intestinal bacteria act as signal molecules and directly modulate insulin trafficking in pancreatic beta cells. The cytosolic peptidoglycan receptor Nod1 and its downstream adapter Rip2 are required for insulin trafficking in beta cells in a cell-autonomous manner. Mechanistically, upon recognizing cognate ligands, Nod1 and Rip2 localize to insulin vesicles, recruiting Rab1a to direct insulin trafficking through the cytoplasm. Importantly, intestinal lysozyme liberates Nod1 ligands into the circulation, thus enabling long-range communication between intestinal microbes and islets. The intestine-islet crosstalk bridged by Nod1 ligands modulates host glucose tolerance. | 4 | Downregulation of lncRNA AFAP1-AS1 by oridonin inhibits the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition and proliferation of pancreatic cancer cells显示文摘Recent studies have demonstrated that the expression of the long non-coding RNA(lncRNA)AFAP1-AS1 in pancreatic cancer is negatively correlated with survival and prognosis.However,the effects of oridonin and lncRNA AFAP1-AS1 on the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition(EMT)and migration of pancreatic cancer cells have not been fully elucidated.Surgery is the only potentially curative method for pancreatic cancer,but postoperative recurrence and metastasis are common.The aim of the present study was to assess the effect of oridonin and lncRNA AFAP1-AS1 silencing on pancreatic cancer cells.The pancreatic cancer cell lines BxPC-3 and PANC-1 cells were transfected with siAFAP1-AS1 and its negative control(siNC).After that,oridonin was used to treat the siAFAP1-AS1-transfected cells.The expression of lncRNA AFAP1-AS1 was downregulated in the pancreatic cancer cell lines BxPC-3 and PANC-1.The apoptosis and cell cycle progression of pancreatic cancer cells were evaluated by flow cytometry and Hoechst 33258 staining.Metastasis and invasion of BxPC-3 and PANC-1 cells were detected by transwell migration assay,real-time cell analysis,and western blot analysis.Cells were transfected with the lentiviral siAFAP1-AS1 and siNC,and tumorigenesis was evaluated in BALB/C nude mice.Immunohistochemical examination was used to verify the effects of oridonin and siAFAP1-AS1 on pancreatic cancer.The results demonstrated that the combination of oridonin and siAFAP1-AS1 inhibited pancreatic cancer cell proliferation,induced apoptosis,arrested cell cycle progression,prevented the migration,regulated EMT-related protein expression in BxPC-3 and PANC-1 cells,and inhibited pancreatic cancer cell tumorigenicity and EMT in nude mice. | Songmei Lou Jian Xu Bili Wang Shuquan Li Jun Ren Zhengjun Hu Bin Xu Feng Luo | 2019 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,8: | 10 |
| 5 | Rapid Recognition of Isomers of Monochlorobiphenyls at Trace Levels by Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering Using Ag Nanorods as a Substrate显示文摘Isomers and homologues of organic pollutants are hard to distinguish-especially in trace amounts-due to the similarities in their physical and chemical properties. We report here that by identifying the Raman characteristics of isomers of monochlorobiphenyls, these compounds can be recognized, even at trace levels, by using the surface-enhance Raman scattering method with silver nanorods as a substrate. When dissolved in acetone, 2-, 3-, and 4-chlorobiphenyls were detected at a concentration of 10^(-8) mol/L, at which their characteristic Raman peaks were visible. | 6 | Iontophoretic Delivery of Riboflavin into the Rabbit Cornea:a Primary Study显示文摘Purpose: To determine the penetrability of riboflavin into the corneal stroma by iontophoresis and to compare the permeability effects of different solvents.Methods: Twenty rabbits were randomly divided into four groups: a group that received 0.1% riboflavin-balanced salt solution(BSS) by iontophoresis, a group that received 0.1%riboflavin-saline solution by iontophoresis, a group that received 0.1% riboflavin-distilled water solution by iontophoresis, and a control group that received classical riboflavin instillation after corneal de-epithelialization. The degree of yellowing of the de-epithelialized corneal stromal button from each rabbit was compared.Results: The yellow color scores for the corneal stromal buttons in the three iontophoresis groups were compared with those of control group. Iontophoretic delivery of a 0.1% riboflavin-distilled water solution yielded similar yellow changes in the corneal stromal button when compared with classical riboflavin instillation after de-epithelialization. However, the other two solvents did not sufficiently enhance the permeability of riboflavin.Conclusion: Riboflavin can effectively penetrate into the corneal stroma to saturation levels by iontophoresis. | 8 | Pollution level and human health risk assessment of some pesticides and polychlorinated biphenyls in Nantong of Southeast China显示文摘Food consumption is one of the key exposure routes of humans to contaminants.This article evaluated the residue levels of 51 pesticides and 16 polychlorinated biphenyls(PCBs) in selected fish and food items which were commonly consumed in the Nantong area of Jiangsu Province,Southeast China.The 51 pesticides and 16 PCBs were analyzed by highly sensitive gas chromatographytandem mass spectrometry(GC-MS/MS).The results showed that organochlorine pesticides such as dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethanes(DDTs),hexachlorocyclohexanes(HCHs),hexachlorobenzene(HCB) and mirex and other pesticides including chlorpyrifos,pyrethroid pesticides,metolachlor,pyridaben and trifluralin were frequently detected in the samples,which was consistent with the accumulation level and characteristics of these toxic chemicals in human adipose tissue of people living in Nantong.Meanwhile,correlation of the residue level of toxic chemicals with their physical chemical properties and historic use pattern in Nantong area was observed.Combined with dietary survey results at the same sampling locations,human health risk assessment of ingestion through the dietary route was performed.The results suggested that the non-cancer risks of the chemicals investigated can be considered negligible in the Nantong area,however,the cancer risks from lifetime dietary exposure to DDTs and HCB have exceeded the acceptable levels. | Na Wang Li Yi Lili Shi Deyang Kong Daoji Cai Donghua Wang Zhengjun Shan | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,10: | 5 |
