1Linking atmospheric pollution to cryospheric change in the Third Pole region: current progress and future prospects显示文摘The Tibetan Plateau and its surroundings are known as the Third Pole(TP). This region is noted for its high rates of glacier melt and the associated hydrological shifts that affect water supplies in Asia. Atmospheric pollutants contribute to climatic and cryospheric changes through their effects on solar radiation and the albedos of snow and ice surfaces; moreover, the behavior and fates within the cryosphere and environmental impacts of environmental pollutants are topics of increasing concern. In this review, we introduce a coordinated monitoring and research framework and network to link atmospheric pollution and cryospheric changes(APCC) within the TP region. We then provide an up-to-date summary of progress and achievements related to the APCC research framework, including aspects of atmospheric pollution’s composition and concentration, spatial and temporal variations, trans-boundary transport pathways and mechanisms, and effects on the warming of atmosphere and changing in Indian monsoon, as well as melting of glacier and snow cover. We highlight that exogenous air pollutants can enter into the TP’s environments and cause great impacts on regional climatic and environmental changes. At last, we propose future research priorities and map out an extended program at the global scale. 2Rapid growth cost in “all-fish” growth hormone gene transgenic carp:Reduced critical swimming speed显示文摘Evidence has accumulated that there is a trade-off between benefits and costs associated with rapid growth. A trade-off between growth rates and critical swimming speed (Ucrit) had been also reported to be common in teleost fish. We hypothesize that growth acceleration in the F3 generation of 'all-fish' growth hormone gene (GH) transgenic common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) would reduce the swimming abilities. Growth and swimming performance between transgenic fish and non-transgenic controls were compared. The results showed that transgenic fish had a mean body weight 1.4―1.9-fold heavier,and a mean specific growth rate (SGR) value 6%―10% higher than the controls. Transgenic fish,however,had a mean absolute Ucrit (cm/s) value 22% or mean relative Ucrit (BL/s) value 24% lower than the controls. It suggested that fast-growing 'all-fish' GH-transgenic carp were inferior swimmers. 3Long-term precipitation change by hourly data in Haihe River Basin during 1961–2004显示文摘Hourly summer precipitation data recorded at 21 stations during 1961-2004 in the Haihe River Basin in North China were analyzed. The results show that the precipitation frequency and amount and the morning peak mainly relating to long-duration rainfall events decreased during this period, whereas the normalized afternoon peak mainly relating to short-duration events increased, which may suggest that the proportion of short-duration rainfall has increased as the total summer rainfall has decreased. For short-duration events, the mean intensity and peak intensity increased at most stations and the time to peak intensity decreased, which may be attributable to the higher thermal contrast between the warmer lower surface and cooler upper level. In the case of long-duration events, the total amount was significantly correlated with the East Asian summer monsoon index for the period 1961-2001 (correlation coefficient of 0.63). 4Preparation,Microstructure and Properties of NiO-Cr_2O_3-TiO_2 Infrared Radiation Coating显示文摘The spherical agglomerated particles were fabricated by spray drying with the powders of NiO,Cr2O3 and TiO2.Plasma spray power,which has good property of flowability,was acquired by heat treatment from the particles at 1200-C in the reducing atmosphere.Dark and uniform coating of More than 50μm thick was deposited on the copper sheet substrate by plasma spraying.It is found that the infrared normal total emissivity of the coating is up to 0.91 at 600-C by infrared radiation testing.The X-ray diffraction analysis shows that the formation of(Cr0.88Ti0.12)2O3 and spinel structural NiCr2O4 in the coating is the main reason for high effcient infrared radiation,and the phase structure and performance of coating is favorable under the thermal cycle between room temperature and 600-C.Wu Chen Weiping Ye Xudong Cheng Wei Duan Fang Mao Deliang Li 2009Journal of Materials Science & Technology2009,25,5:8
5Mitochondrial DNA A1555G mutation screening using a testing kit method and its significance in preventing aminoglycoside-related hearing loss显示文摘To report a new screening method for mitochondrial DNA 1555A→G mutation and the results of genotype analysis in 19 maternal inherited deafness pedigrees. Method Five hundred and forty-six non-syndromic neuro-sensory hearing loss patients were tested for 1555A→G mutation using a new compact testing kit, which allows clear distinction between wild type and 1555 A→G mutated mtDNAs. Results Nineteen subjects among the 546 patients (3.48%) were found to carry mtDNA A1555G mutation. The results were confirmed by sequencing in an ABI 3100 Avant sequencer. Conclusions Maternal inherited deafness families are a frequently seen in outpatient group. 6Characteristics of the phytoplankton community and bioaccumulation of heavy metals during algal blooms in Xiangjiang River (Hunan,China)显示文摘The frequency of algal blooms has increased in the mid and downstream reaches of the Xiangjiang River (Hunan,China),one of the most heavily polluted rivers in China.We identified the bloom-forming species in a bloom that occurred mid-late September 2010.In addition,we determined the extent of metal bioaccumulation in the algae and measured the toxicity of the algae using a mouse bioassay.Water samples were collected at upstream (Yongzhou),midstream (Hengyang),and downstream (Zhuzhou,Xiangtan,and Changsha) sites.The dominant species was Aulacoseira granulata,formerly known as Melosira granulata.The heaviest bloom occurred at Xiangtan and Changsha,where the number of A.granulata peaked at 1.3×10 5 filaments L 1 and chlorophyll a at 0.04 mg L 1.Concentrations of Al,Fe,and Mn were 4.4 10 3,768.4,and 138.7 mg kg 1 dry weight in the phytoplankton.The bioaccumulation factor was 4.0×10 5,7.7×10 5,and 3.2×10 3,respectively.The heavy metal Pb had the greatest tendency to bioaccumulate among the highly toxic heavy metals,with a concentration of 19.2 mg kg 1 dry weight and bioaccumulation factor of 9.6×10 3.The mouse bioassay suggested the bloom was toxic.The LD 50 was 384 mg kg 1 and all surviving mice lost weight during the first 72 h after exposure.Our results demonstrate that blooms of A.granulata in rivers contaminated with heavy metals pose a threat to freshwater ecosystems and human health.Thus,measures should be taken to control eutrophication and heavy metal pollution in such rivers.LI Jie PENG FuLi DING DongBo ZHANG ShuBing LI DeLiang ZHANG Ting 2011Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,10:6

8Numerical study on rainfall infiltration in rock-soil slop显示文摘A mathematical model for the rain infiltration in the rock-soil slop has been established and solved by using the finite element method. The unsteady water infiltrating process has been simulated to get water content both in the homogeneous and heterogeneous media. The simulated results show that the rock blocks in the rock-soil slop can cause the wetting front moving fast. If the rain intensity is increased, the saturated region will be formed quickly while other conditions are the same. If the rain intensity keeps a constant, it is possible to accelerate the generation of the saturated region by properly increasing the vertical filtration rate of the rock-soil slop. However, if the vertical filtration rate is so far greater than the rain intensity, it will be difficult to form the saturated region in the rock-soil slop. 10Effects of arrangement of surge-root irrigation emitters on growth,yield and water use efficiency of apple trees显示文摘Six-year old apple trees were selected for field experiment.The objective of this study was to obtain the reasonable arrangement of surge-root irrigation emitters in apple orchards.There were three factors:the buried depth H(25,40,55 cm),the horizontal distance L(30,40,60 cm)between the emitters and the trunk of the experimental tree,and the number of the irrigation emitters N(1,2,4).The effect of the arrangement of surge-root irrigation emitters on the growth,yield and irrigation water use efficiency(IWUE)of apple trees were studied in Northern Shaanxi where the irrigation quota takes 60%-75%of the field water capacity.The results showed that the arrangement of emitters for surge-root irrigation had a significant effect on apple tree yield and IWUE,especially,the yield and IWUE reached 28388.17 kg/hm2 and 16.83 kg/m3 in treatment T3,respectively.At the same L and N levels(T1,T2,and T3),the yield and IWUE in treatment T3 were the highest,and the yields in treatments T1 and T2 were decreased by 26.22%and 31.48%,while IWUE is reduced by14.02%and 18.12%compared with T3,respectively.At the same H and N levels(T3,T4,and T5),the yield and IWUE of apple trees were decreased with increasing L level.Especially,when L was 30 cm(T3),the yield and IWUE were the highest.The same L and H levels(T3,T6,and T7)could promote the growth of apple trees when N was 2(T3).Compared with treatment T3,it was found that the increment of new shoots was decreased by 8.07%-18.71%,and the fruit diameter was decreased by 5.41%-9.11%.Therefore,two emitters should be arranged symmetrically on both sides of an apple tree,each was buried at a 40 cm depth and 30 cm away from the trunk of the tree to effectively improve the yield and IWUE of the apple tree in mountainous areas in Northern Shaanxi.LI Zhongjie FEI Liangjun HAO Kun LIU Teng CHEN Nanshu ZHANG Quanju HUANG Deliang 2020排灌机械工程学报2020,38,7:4
11Study on estimate method of wave velocity and quality fac-tor to fault seals显示文摘Based on ultrasonic test of fault rocks, the re-sponses for wave velocity and quality factor (Q value) to lithology, porosity and permeability of fault rocks and me-chanical property of faults are studied. In this paper, a new quantitative estimate method of fault seals is originally of-fered. The conclusions are as follows: (1) Wave velocity and Q value increase and porosity decreases with the increase in stress perpendicular to joint; (2) In compressive and com-presso-shear fault rocks that are obviously anisotropic com-pared with their original rocks, the wave velocity and Q value are greater in the direction parallel with foliation, and usually less perpendicular to it. In tensile and tenso-shear fault rocks that are not obviously anisotropic, the wave ve-locity and Q value are under that of original rocks; (3) In foliated fault rocks, the direction with minimal wave velocity and Q value is the best direction for sealing; on the contrary it is the best for flowing; (4) Structural factures develop mainly along foliation, the minimal wave velocity and Q value reflect the flowing capacity in parallel direction to fo-liation, and the maximal wave velocity as well as Q value reflect the sealing capacity in normal direction to foliation. The new estimate method is based upon contrast of wave velocity and Q value between fault rocks and their original rocks, and is divided into three parts that are respectively to identify rock’s lithology, to judge mechanic property of faults and to Judge sealing capacity of faults. Although there is vast scale effect between ultrasonic wave and seismic wave, they have similar regularity of response to fabric and porosity of faults. This research offers new application for seismic data and petrophysical basis for seismological estimation of fault seals. 12Biogenic C-doped titania templated by cyanobacteria for visible-light photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B显示文摘Cyanobacteria, which occurred in eutrophic water harvest solar light to carry out photosynthesis with high efficiency. In this work, cyanobacteria(Microcystis sp.) were used as biotemplate to synthesize titania structure. The synthesized titania sample had similar morphology to that of the original template in spite of the fragile unicellular structures and extremely high water content of cyanobacterial cells. Incorporation of biogenic C, as well as the morphology inherited from biotemplate improved visiblelight absorbance of the titania structure. The sample exhibited higher visible-light photocatalytic activity than commercial titania photocatalyst Degussa P25 for Rhodamine B(RhB) degradation. Compared with those C-doped titania photocatalysts prepared by other methods, cyanobacteria templated titania photocatalyst offer some potential for competitive advantages. The reported strategy opened up a new use for the cyanobacteria. 13Acute and chronic un-ionized ammonia toxicity to ‘all-fish’ growth hormone transgenic common carp(Cyprinus carpio L.)显示文摘Ammonia is toxic to fish in natural and artificial waters.We evaluated the acute(96 h) and chronic(21 d) toxicity of un-ionized ammonia to GH transgenic common carp(Cyprinus carpio L.) and non-transgenic common carp using a static-renewal bioassay.The 24,48,72 and 96 h median lethal concentrations(LC50) of un-ionized ammonia were slightly lower in transgenic carp(2.64,2.44,2.28 and 2.16 mg N/L,respectively) than in non-transgenic carp(2.70,2.64,2.52 and 2.33 mg N/L,respectively).Similarly,the median lethal time(LT50) was significantly shorter for transgenic carp(1.41,7.91 and 117.42 h) than for non-transgenic common carp(2.53,14.06 and 150.44 h) following exposure to 3.86,3.29,or 2.09 mg N/L,respectively.Moreover,the mortality of transgenic carp was significantly higher than that of non-transgenic carp at all un-ionized ammonia concentrations((0.91 ± 0.12),(0.48 ± 0.06) and(0.12 ± 0.01) mg N/L) during the 21 d chronic toxicity test.Our results suggest that GH transgenic carp are less tolerant of unionized ammonia than non-transgenic carp.Our data are useful for evaluating potential environmental risk,optimizing stocking density in intensive aquaculture and establishing water quality criteria for ammonia in aquaculture.GUAN Bo HU Wei ZHANG TangLin DUAN Ming LI DeLiang WANG YaPing ZHU ZuoYan 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,35:4
14Nematode-Encoded RALF Peptide Mimics Facilitate Parasitism of Plants through the FERONIA Receptor Kinase显示文摘The molecular mechanism by which plants defend against plant root-knot nematodes(RKNs)is largely unknown.The plant receptor kinase FERONIA and its peptide ligands,rapid alkalinization factors(RALFs),regulate plant immune responses and cell expansion,which are two important factors for successful RKN parasitism.In this study,we found that mutation of FERONIA in Arabidopsis thaliana resulted in plants showing low susceptibility to the RKN Meloidogyne incognita.To identify the underlying mechanisms associated with this phenomenon,we identified 18 novel RALF-likes from multiple species of RKNs and showed that two RALF-likes(i.e.,MiRALF1 and MiRALF3)from M.incognita were expressed in the esophageal gland with high expression during the parasitic stages of nematode development.These nematode RALF-likes also possess the typical activities of plant RALFs and can directly bind to the extracellular domain of FERONIA to modulate specific steps of nematode parasitism-related immune responses and cell expansion.Genetically,both MiRALF1/3 and FERONIA are required for RKN parasitism in Arabidopsis and rice.Collectively,our study suggests that nematode-encoded RALFs facilitate parasitism via plant-encoded FERONIA and provides a novel paradigm for studying host-pathogen interactions.Xin Zhang Huan Peng Sirui Zhu Junjie Xing Xin Li Zhaozhong Zhu Jingyuan Zheng Long Wang Bingqian Wang Jia Chen Zhenhua Ming Ke Yao Jinzhuo Jian Sheng Luan Devin Coleman-Derr Hongdong Liao Yousong Peng Deliang Peng Feng Yu 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,10:3
15Exposure of silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) to environmentally relevant levels of cadmium:hematology,muscle physiology,and implications for stock enhancement in the Xiangjiang River (Hunan,China)显示文摘Cadmium is a non-essential metal with a wide distribution that has severe toxic effects on aquatic animals. Changes in hematology and muscle physiology were examined in silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) exposed to environmentally relevant levels of cadmium (0.01 mg L-1 ) for 96 h. Cadmium exposure induced significant increases in the red blood cell count, and in the plasma concentrations of cortisol, glucose, and lactate. This suggests that the dose of cadmium was sufficient to cause stress, possibly associated with impaired gas exchange at the gills. There were no changes in hemoglobin concentration or plasma protein concentration. Significant decreases in muscle energy fuels (ATP and glycogen), and increases in muscle lactate persisted until the end of the exposure period, respectively. The changes in muscle lactate and protein in silver carp differed from those observed in response to exposure of fish to cadmium and heavy metals in other studies. 16Contrasting vegetation changes in dry and humid regions ofthe Tibetan Plateau over recent decades显示文摘An overall greening over the Tibetan Plateau(TP) in recent decades has been established through analyses of remotely sensed Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI), though the regional pattern of the changes and associated drivers remain to be explored. This study used a satellite Leaf Area Index(LAI) dataset(the GLASS LAI dataset) and examined vegetation changes in humid and arid regions of the TP during 1982–2012. Based on distributions of the major vegetation types, the TP was divided roughly into a humid southeastern region dominated by meadow and a dry northwestern region covered mainly by steppe. It was found that the dividing line between the two regions corresponded well with the lines of mean annual precipitation of 400 mm and the mean LAI of 0.3. LAI=0.3 was subsequently used as a threshold for investigating vegetation type changes at the interanual and decadal time scales: if LAI increased from less than 0.3 to greater than0.3 from one time period to the next, it was regarded as a change from steppe to meadow, and vice versa. The analysis shows that changes in vegetation types occurred primarily around the dividing line of the two regions, with clear growth(reduction) of the area covered by meadow(steppe), in consistency with the findings from using another independent satellite product. 17Insulin-like growth factor 1-induced enolase 2 deacetylation by HDAC3 promotes metastasis of pancreatic cancer显示文摘Enolase 2(ENO2)is a key glycolytic enzyme in the metabolic process of glycolysis,but its potential function in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)is unclear.In this study,we observed a significant overexpression of ENO2 in PDAC tissues,and its expression was correlated with metastasis and poor prognosis in PDAC patients.K394 was identified as a major acetylation site in ENO2 that regulates its enzymatic activity,cell metabolism and PDAC progression.Knockdown of ENO2 suppressed tumor growth and liver metastasis in PDAC.Re-expression of wild-type(WT)ENO2,but not the K394 acetylation mimetic mutant,could reverse the decreased tumor malignancy.We further characterized histone deacetylase 3(HDAC3)and P300/CBP-associated factor(PCAF)as the potential deacetylase and acetyltransferase for ENO2,respectively.HDAC3-mediated deacetylation was shown to lead to ENO2 activation and enhancement of glycolysis.Importantly,insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1)was found to decrease K394 acetylation and stimulate ENO2 activity in a dose-and time-dependent manner.The PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway facilitated the phosphorylation of HDAC3 on S424,which promoted K394 deacetylation and activation of ENO2.Linsitinib,an oral small-molecule inhibitor of IGF-1R,could inhibit IGF-1-induced ENO2 deacetylation by HDAC3 and the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway.Furthermore,linsitinib showed a different effect on the growth and metastasis of PDAC depending on the overexpression of WT versus K394-mutant ENO2.Our results reveal a novel mechanism by which acetylation negatively regulates ENO2 activity in the metastasis of PDAC by modulating glycolysis.Blockade of IGF-1-induced ENO2 deacetylation represents a promising strategy to prevent the development of PDAC.Yan Zheng Chao Wu Jimeng Yang Yue Zhao Huliang Jia Min Xue Da Xu Feng Yang Deliang Fu Chaoqun Wang Beiyuan Hu Ze Zhang Tianen Li Shican Yan Xuan Wang Peter J.Nelson Christiane Bruns Lunxiu Qin Qiongzhu Dong 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:3
18Electrolyte Concentration Regulation Boosting Zinc Storage Stability of High-Capacity K0.486V2O5 Cathode for Bendable Quasi-Solid-State Zinc Ion Batteries显示文摘Vanadium-based cathodes have attracted great interest in aqueous zinc ion batteries(AZIBs)due to their large capacities,good rate performance and facile synthesis in large scale.However,their practical application is greatly hampered by vanadium dissolution issue in conventional dilute electrolytes.Herein,taking a new potassium vanadate K0.486V2O5(KVO)cathode with large interlayer spacing(~0.95 nm)and high capacity as an example,we propose that the cycle life of vanadates can be greatly upgraded in AZIBs by regulating the concentration of ZnCl2 electrolyte,but with no need to approach“water-in-salt”threshold.With the optimized moderate concentration of 15 m ZnCl2 electrolyte,the KVO exhibits the best cycling stability with ~95.02% capacity retention after 1400 cycles.We further design a novel sodium carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC)-moderate concentration ZnCl2 gel electrolyte with high ionic conductivity of 10.08 mS cm^-1 for the first time and assemble a quasi-solid-state AZIB.This device is bendable with remarkable energy density(268.2 Wh kg^−1),excellent stability(97.35% after 2800 cycles),low self-discharge rate,and good environmental(temperature,pressure)suitability,and is capable of powering small electronics.The device also exhibits good electrochemical performance with high KVO mass loading(5 and 10 mg cm^-2).Our work sheds light on the feasibility of using moderately concentrated electrolyte to address the stability issue of aqueous soluble electrode materials.Linpo Li Shuailei Liu Wencong Liu Deliang Ba Wenyi Liu Qiuyue Gui Yao Chen Zuoqi Hu Yuanyuan Li Jinping Liu 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,2:2
19Novel application of red mud as disposal catalyst for pyrolysis and gasification of coal显示文摘Red mud(RM)with the high alkalinity as a catalyst was evaluated for coal pyrolysis in a fixed bed as well as CO_(2) gasification of its resultant char in a thermogravimetric analyzer(TGA).The addition of RM into coal could improve the quality of tar during pyrolysis and enhance the reactivity of char during gasification.For catalytic pyrolysis with 12 wt%RM at 600℃,the light fraction in tar was 72.0 wt%,which increased by 20.0%,compared with coal pyrolysis alone.The role of metal oxides in RM on coal pyrolysis was further clarified as well.After catalytic pyrolysis with RM,the specific surface area of resultant char increased,especially for mesoporous surface area,and meanwhile the sodium in RM was proved to migrate to the char surface.These positive factors contributed to the CO_(2) gasification activity of char.RM with the high alkalinity showed a promising catalyst candidate for coal pyrolysis and gasification in terms of its catalytic effects and low cost.Zhaohui Chen Deliang Wang Hang Yang Yusheng Zhang Yunjia Li Changming Li Jian Yu Shiqiu Gao 2021Carbon Resources Conversion2021,4,1:2
