| 1 | Cytological and Molecular Characteristics of Pollen Abortion in Lily with Dysplastic Tapetum显示文摘Lily was grown worldwide as a fresh cutting flower because of its colorful petals, but its anther contained a large number of pollen grains that cause serious pollen contamination, however, pollen abortion can effectively reduce the level of pollen pollution. Our analysis aims to use cytological observation to detect the critical stage when pollen abortion occurs and to provide comprehensive gene expression information at the transcriptional level. The result showed that pollen abortion in ‘Little Kiss’ began at the mononuclear stage and the callose that covers the microspores failed to degenerate when young pollens were released from the tetrads. In addition, compared with the normally developed one,the tapetum of ‘Little Kiss’ degraded in advance while the degradation of callose was delayed. Furthermore, 103 differentially expressed genes(DEGs) related to the advance degeneration of tapetum cells and callose were found in the expression levels, including 22 transcription factors(TFs). In particular, two β-glucanase genes(endo-1,3(4)-β-glucanase, exo-β-glucanase) responsible for callose degeneration were significantly down-regulated. These results suggested that pollen abortion may occur at mononuclear stage and that early degeneration of tapetum cells resulted in a significant down-regulation of β-glucanase genes. | 2 | Interfacial Engineering of NiFeP/NiFe-LDH Heterojunction for Efficient Overall Water Splitting显示文摘In consideration of application prospect of non-noble metallic materials catalysts,the study of exploring more highly effective electrocatalysts has been focused on by researchers.Herein,a novel strategy is employed to construct a heterojunction consisting of metal phosphide Ni_(x)Fe_(y)P and layered double hydroxide(LDH)with graphene oxide(GO)as conductive support.By adjusting the molar ratio of Ni to Fe,a series of heterojunctions with mixed valence state Fe^(δ+)/Fe^(3+)and Ni^(δ+)/Ni^(2+)(δis likely close to 0)redox couples are achieved and strong synergistic effects towards overall water splitting performance are found.The optimized catalyst with a Ni/Fe molar ratio of 0.72:0.33,namely Ni_(0.7)Fe_(0.3)P/LDH/GO,delivers ultra-low overpotentials for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)of 79 and 198 mV at the current density of 10 mA·cm^(-2),respectively.Furthermore,for overall water-splitting practical application,it only requires 1.526 V at 10 mA·cm^(-2)with robust stability,which is superior to most reported electrocatalysts.Experimental results demonstrate the im-proved electronic conductivity,enlarged electrochemically active area and accelerated kinetics together account for the enhanced performance.This work supplies new prospects for the promotion and application of such heterojunction electrocatalysts in overall water splitting. | Xuanyu Long Jiazhi Meng Jiabao Gu Lanqing Ling Qianwen Li Nan Liu Kaiwen Wang Zequan Li | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Structural Chemistry2022,41,4: | 4 |

| 4 | Intercellular transfer of activated STING triggered by RAB22A-mediated non-canonical autophagy promotes antitumor immunity显示文摘STING,an endoplasmic reticulum(ER)transmembrane protein,mediates innate immune activation upon cGAMP stimulation and is degraded through autophagy.Here,we report that activated STING could be transferred between cells to promote antitumor immunity,a process triggered by RAB22A-mediated non-canonical autophagy.Mechanistically,RAB22A engages PI4K2A to generate PI4P that recruits the Atg12–Atg5–Atg16L1 complex,inducing the formation of ER-derived RAB22A-mediated non-canonical autophagosome,in which STING activated by agonists or chemoradiotherapy is packaged.This RAB22A-induced autophagosome fuses with RAB22A-positive early endosome,generating a new organelle that we name Rafeesome(RAB22A-mediated non-canonical autophagosome fused with early endosome).Meanwhile,RAB22A inactivates RAB7 to suppress the fusion of Rafeesome with lysosome,thereby enabling the secretion of the inner vesicle of the autophagosome bearing activated STING as a new type of extracellular vesicle that we define as R-EV(RAB22A-induced extracellular vesicle).Activated STING-containing R-EVs induce IFNβrelease from recipient cells to the tumor microenvironment,promoting antitumor immunity.Consistently,RAB22A enhances the antitumor effect of the STING agonist diABZI in mice,and a high RAB22A level predicts good survival in nasopharyngeal cancer patients treated with chemoradiotherapy.Our findings reveal that Rafeesome regulates the intercellular transfer of activated STING to trigger and spread antitumor immunity,and that the inner vesicle of non-canonical autophagosome originated from ER is secreted as R-EV,providing a new perspective for understanding the intercellular communication of organelle membrane proteins. | Ying Gao Xueping Zheng Boyang Chang Yujie Lin Xiaodan Huang Wen Wang Shirong Ding Weixiang Zhan Shang Wang Beibei Xiao Lanqing Huo Youhui Yu Yilin Chen Run Gong Yuanzhong Wu Ruhua Zhang Li Zhong Xin Wang Qiuyan Chen Song Gao Zhengfan Jiang Denghui Wei Tiebang Kang | 2022 | Cell Research2022,32,12: | 1 |
| 5 | Expanding antiviral therapy indications for HBeAg-negative chronic hepatitis B patients with normal ALT and positive HBV DNA显示文摘With the improved efficacy and accessibility of antiviral agents as well as the concerns about disease progression,there is a hot discussion on whether HBeAg-negative chronic hepatitis B(CHB)patients with normal alanine aminotransferase(ALT)and positive HBV DNA should be treated.According to the international guidelines on the stages of the natural history of HBV infection,HBeAgnegative CHB patients with normal ALT and positive HBV DNA can be divided into two groups:one is the well-known“inactive carrier phase”,which is defined as serum HBV DNA<2000 IU/ml and no significant liver inflammation;and the other is the“indeterminate phase”,which is defined as serum HBV DNA≥2000 IU/mL regardless of the pathological changes in liver tissue,or HBV DNA<2000 IU/mL but accompanied by significant pathological changes in the liver.In this minireview,we will expound the disease characteristics,disease progression,and clinical management status of these two groups.Based on the analysis,we propose that HBeAg-negative patients with normal ALT but detectable serum HBV DNA should be treated,regardless of their age,family history of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)or the severity of liver necroinflammation.Expanding the indications of antiviral therapy will help improve the survival and quality of life of patients by preventing disease progression,and consequently reduce the risk of HCC development. | Jing Zhou Fada Wang Lanqing Li Enqiang Chen | 2022 | Precision Clinical Medicine2022,5,4: | 1 |
| 6 | Carbon neutrality of wastewater treatment-A systematic concept beyond the plant boundary显示文摘Recently,every industry has been working to achieve carbon neutrality,and the wastewater sector is no exception.However,little research focuses on the carbon accounting of wastewater treatment and the roadmap to carbon neutrality.Here,to systematically perform accounting,we provide a sketch that describes three boundaries of the wastewater system and propose that the carbon neutrality of the wastewater system is far beyond the plant boundary.Moreover,we identify the direct and indirect carbon emissions of wastewater treatment.In addition to direct emissions of CH_(4) and N_(2)O,direct fossil CO_(2) emissions from wastewater treatment should be included in accounting to set accurate guidelines.Next,the technologies that assist in achieving carbon-neutral wastewater treatment both within-thefence of wastewater treatment plants and beyond the plant boundary are summarized.All measurements of energy recovery,resource recovery,and water reuse contribute to reaching this goal.The concepts of energy neutrality and carbon neutrality are identified.Successful wastewater treatment cases in energy self-sufficiency may not achieve carbon neutrality.Meanwhile,resource recovery methods are encouraged,especially to produce carbon-based materials.Ultimately,the trend of preference for the decentralized sewage treatment system is pinpointed,and systematic thinking to set the urban infrastructure layout as a whole is advocated. | Lanqing Li Xiuheng Wang Jingyu Miao Aliya Abulimiti Xinsheng Jing Nanqi Ren | 2022 | Environmental Science and Ecotechnology2022,,3: | 1 |
