| 1 | Progress in additive manufacturing on new materials: A review显示文摘Recent efforts and advances in additive manufacturing(AM) on different types of new materials are presented and reviewed. Special attention is paid to the material design of cladding layers, the choice of feedstock materials, the metallurgical behavior and synthesis principle during the AM process, and the resulted microstructures and properties, as well as the relationship between these factors. Thereafter,the trend of development in the future is forecasted, including: Effects of the particles size and size distribution of powders; Approaches for producing fine microstructures; Opportunities for creating new materials by AM; Wide applications in reconditioning of damaged components; Challenges for deep understanding and applications of the AMed new materials. | 3 | The Intervention Effect of Rosiglitozone in Ovarian Fibrosis of PCOS Rats显示文摘Objective To explore the Intervention effect of Rosiglitozone in ovarian fibrosis of PCOS rats.Methods 60 female SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups:control group,model group and treatment group.The model and treatment groups were established by subcutaneous injection of DHEA,while the treatment group was given RGZ.The serum hormone values,pathohistology of ovarian structure of rats,ovarian ultrastructure and the expressions of TGF-β 1 and CTGF were detected.Results The PCOS model was established successfully.The expression intensity of TGF-β 1 and CTGF in Oocytes of the PCOS groups was 9.545±2.954 and 9.665±2.400,respectively and was significantly higher than that of the control group 6.636±2.264 and 7.036±2.133;after treatment with rosiglitazone,the expression was significantly decreased 6.980±2.421 and 6.642±2.721 as compared with that of the model group (P<0.05,P<0.001).The values in serum of the PCOS groups were 3.749±2.054 and 0.265±0.129,and 1.914±1.801 and 0.096±0.088 in the control group which had statistically significant difference (P<0.05,P<0.001).After treatment with rosiglitazone,the values were 2.3100±1.825 and 0.112±0.187 and were significantly different with those of the model group (P<0.05,P<0.001).Conclusion TGF-β 1 and CTGF play an important role in the development of ovary fibrosis in PCOS.However,RGZ may postpone the development of fibrosis by decreasing the levels of TGF-β 1 and CTGF. | MIAO Zhu Lin GUO Liang WANG Yong Xia CUI Rong YANG Ning HUANG Mi Qiong QIN Wei Bing CHEN Jin LI Hong Mei WANG Zi Neng WEI Xiang Cai | 2012 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,1: | 14 |

| 5 | Celastrol induces lipophagy via the LXRα/ABCA1 pathway in clear cell renal cell carcinoma显示文摘Celastrol is a triterpene derived from the traditional Chinese medicine Tripterygium wilfordii Hook f,which displays potential anticancer activity.In the present study,we investigated the anticancer effects of celastrol against clear cell renal cell carcinoma(ccRCC)and the underlying mechanisms.Using Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)database and genotype-tissue expression(GTEx)database we conducted a bioinformatics analysis,which showed that the mRNA levels of liver-X receptorsα(LXRα)and ATP-binding cassette transporter A1(ABCA1)in ccRCC tissues were significantly lower than those in adjacent normal tissues.This result was confirmed by immunoblotting analysis of 4 ccRCC clinical specimens,which showed that the protein expression of LXRαand ABCA1 was downregulated.Similar results were obtained in a panel of ccRCC cell lines(786-O,A498,SN12C,and OS-RC-2).In 786-O and SN12C cells,treatment with celastrol(0.25–2.0μM)concentration-dependently inhibited the cell proliferation,migration,and invasion as well as the epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)process.Furthermore,we demonstrated that celastrol inhibited the invasion of 786-O cells through reducing lipid accumulation;celastrol concentration-dependently promoted autophagy to reduce lipid storage.Moreover,we revealed that celastrol dramatically activated LXRαsignaling,and degraded lipid droplets by inducing lipophagy in 786-O cells.Finally,celastrol promoted cholesterol efflux from 786-O cells via ABCA1.In high-fat diet-promoted ccRCC cell line 786-O xenograft model,administration of celastrol(0.25,0.5,1.0 mg·kg^(−1)·d^(−1),for 4 weeks,i.p.)dose-dependently inhibited the tumor growth with upregulated LXRαand ABCA1 protein in tumor tissue.In conclusion,this study reveals that celastrol triggers lipophagy in ccRCC by activating LXRα,promotes ABCA1-mediated cholesterol efflux,suppresses EMT progress,and ultimately inhibits cell proliferation,migration,and invasion as well as tumor growth.Thus,our study provides evidence that celastrol can be used as a lipid metabolism-based anticancer therapeutic approach. | Chan-juan Zhang Neng Zhu Jia Long Hong-tao Wu Yu-xiang Wang Bi-yuan Liu Duan-fang Liao Li Qin | 2021 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2021,42,9: | 8 |

| 7 | Enhanced Vitamin C Production Mediated by an ABA-Induced PTP-like Nucleotidase Improves Plant Drought Tolerance in Arabidopsis and Maize显示文摘Abscisic acid(ABA)is a key phytohormone that mediates environmental stress responses.Vitamin C,or L-ascorbic acid(AsA),is the most abundant antioxidant protecting against stress damage in plants.How the ABA and AsA signaling pathways interact in stress responses remains elusive.In this study,we characterized the role of a previously unidentified gene,PTPN(PTP-like Nucleotidase)in plant drought tolerance.In Arabidopsis,(AtPTPN was expressed in multiple tissues and upregulated by ABA and drought treatments.Loss-of-function mutants oiAtPTPN were hyposensitive to ABA but hypersensitive to drought stresses,whereas plants with enhanced expression AtPTPN showed opposite phenotypes to.Overexpression of maize PTPN(ZmPTPN)promoted,while knockdown oiZmPTPN inhibited plant drought tolerance,indicating conserved and positive roles of PTPN in plant drought tolerance.We found that both AtPTPN and ZmPTPN release Pi by hydrolyzing GDP/GMP/dGMP/IMP/dIMP,and that AtPTPN positively regulated AsA production via endogenous Pi content control.Consistently,overexpression of VTC2,the rate-limiting synthetic enzyme in AsA biosynthesis,promoted AsA production and plant drought tolerance,and these effects were largely dependent on AtPTPN activity.Furthermore,we demonstrated that the heat shock transcription factor HSFA6a directly binds the AtPTPN promoter and activates AtPTPN expression.Genetic analyses showed that AtPTPN is required for HSFA6a to regulate ABA and drought responses.Taken together,our data indicate that PTPN-mediated crosstalk between the ABA signaling and AsA biosynthesis pathways positively controls plant drought tolerance. | Hui Zhang Yanli Xiang Neng He Xiangguo Liu Hongbo Liu Liping Fang Fei Zhang Xiaopeng Sun Delin Zhang Xingwang Li William Terzaghi Jianbing Yan Mingqiu Dai | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020,13,5: | 7 |

| 10 | Microstructure Characteristics and Mechanical Properties of Nb-17Si-23Ti Ternary Alloys Fabricated by In Situ Reaction Laser Melting Deposition显示文摘Fabrication of ternary Nb–17 Si–23 Ti alloys was attempted by in situ reaction laser melting deposition(LMD)with dual powder feeding method from Nb-28 at.% Ti powder mixture and pure Si powder. The microstructures of the asdeposited alloys were examined with scanning electronic microscope, and the phase constituents were analyzed by X-ray energy-dispersive spectrometer and X-ray diffraction. Furthermore, the effect of laser power on microstructure characteristics, microhardness and indentation fracture toughness was also investigated. The in situ reaction LMD process resulted in remarkable refinement of the microstructure. The as-deposited samples mainly consisted of NbSS,metastable(Nb Ti)3 Si and Ti-rich NbSS. With the increase in the laser power from 1000 to 2000 W, the NbSSmorphology changed from discontinuous dendritic to near equiaxed, but the Ti-rich NbSSphase tended to vanish. Furthermore, with the increase in the laser power, the microhardness of as-deposited samples increased from 822 to 951 HV, while the indentation fracture toughness was improved from 12.3 to 14.1 MPa m1/2. | 14 | Changes in Antioxidant Enzyme Activities and Malondialdehyde(MDA) Content of Rice with Blast Resistance Induced by Ag-antibiotic 702显示文摘The paper was to explore the effect of rice blast resistance induced by Ag-antibiotic 702 on antioxidant enzyme activities and malondialdehyde( MDA)content. At three-leaf and one-heart stage of Luliangyou 996,15 μg/mL Ag-antibiotic 702 was sprayed,while Validamycin and distilled water were sprayed as positive control and negative control,respectively. The antioxidant enzyme( SOD,POD,PPO,CAT and PAL) activities and malondialdehyde( MDA) content in rice leaves were determined every 24 h within 168 h post spraying. Compared with CK,the MDA content and activities of the five antioxidant enzymes increased in Agantibiotic 702 treatment,Validamycin treatment and M. grisea inoculation treatment. The MDA content and SOD,CAT and POD activities in Ag-antibiotic 702 treatment were significantly higher than those in M. grisea inoculation treatment in early stage,and the APX and LOX activities increased more remarkably and rapidly. The induction effect of Ag-antibiotic 702 could reach or exceed that of Validamycin treatment. Ag-antibiotic 702 enhanced the resistance to rice blast because MDA content and antioxidant enzymes activities were improved in rice leaves. | 16 | Decontamination of Bacillus subtilis var. niger spores on selected surfaces by chlorine dioxide gas显示文摘Objective:Chlorine dioxide(CD) gas has been used as a fumigant in the disinfection of biosafety labo-ratories.In this study,some experiments were conducted to assess the inactivation of spores inoculated on six ma-terials [stainless steel(SS),painted steel(PS),polyvinyl chlorid(PVC),polyurethane(PU),glass(GS),and cotton cloth(CC)] by CD gas.The main aims of the study were to determine the sporicidal efficacy of CD gas and the effect of prehumidification before decontamination on sporicidal efficacy.Methods:Material coupons(1.2 cm diameter of SS,PS,and PU;1.0 cm×1.0 cm for PVC,GS,and CC) were contaminated with 10 μl of Bacillus subtilis var.niger(ATCC 9372) spore suspension in mixed organic burden and then dried in a biosafety cabinet for 12 h.The spores were recovered by soaking the coupons in 5 ml of extraction liquid for 1 h and then vortexing the liquid for 1 min.Results:The log reductions in spore numbers on inoculated test materials exposed to CD gas [0.080%(volume ratio,v/v) for 3 h] were in the range of from 1.80 to 6.64.Statistically significant differences were found in decontamination efficacies on test material coupons of SS,PS,PU,and CC between with and without a 1-h prehumidification treatment.With the extraction method,there were no statistically significant differences in the recovery ratios between the porous and non-porous materials.Conclusions:The results reported from this study could provide information for developing decontamination technology based on CD gas for targeting surface microbial contamination. | Yan-ju LI Neng ZHU Hai-quan JIA Jin-hui WU Ying YI Jian-cheng QI | 2012 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2012,13,4: | 4 |

| 19 | Improving stability of MXenes显示文摘Due to their superior hydrophilicity and conductivity,ultra-high volumetric capacitance,and rich surface-chemistry properties,MXenes exhibit unique and excellent performance in catalysis,energy storage,electromagnetic shielding,and life sciences.Since they are derived from ceramics(MAX phase)through etching,one of the challenges in MXenes preparation is the inevitable exposure of metal atoms on their surface and embedding of anions and cations.Because the as-obtained MXenes are always in a thermodynamically metastable state,they tend to react with trace oxygen or oxygen-containing groups to form metal oxides or degrade,leading to sharply declined activity and impaired performance.Therefore,improving the stability of MXenesbased materials is of practical significance in relevant applications.Unfortunately,there lacks a comprehensive review in the literature on relevant topics.To help promote the wide applications of MXenes,we review from the following aspects:(i)insights into the factors affecting the stability of MXenes-based materials,including oxidation of MXenes flakes,stability of MXenes colloidal solutions,and swelling and degradation of MXenes thin-film,(ii)strategies for enhancing the stability of MXenes-based materials by optimizing MAX phase synthesis and modifying the MXenes preparation,and(iii)techniques for further increasing the stability of freshly prepared MXenes-based materials via controlling the storage conditions,and forming shielding on the surface and/or edge of MXenes flakes.Finally,some outlooks are proposed on the future developments and challenges of highly active and stable MXenes.We aim to provide guidance for the design,preparation,and applications of MXenes-based materials with excellent stability and activity. | Jizhou Jiang Saishuai Bai Jing Zou Song Liu Jyh-Ping Hsu Neng Li Guoyin Zhu Zechao Zhuang Qi Kang Yizhou Zhang | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,7: | 4 |
| 20 | Spatial correlation of elastic heterogeneity tunes the deformation behavior of metallic glasses显示文摘Metallic glasses(MGs)possess remarkably high strength but often display only minimal tensile ductility due to the formation of catastrophic shear bands.Purposely enhancing the inherent heterogeneity to promote distributed flow offers new possibilities in improving the ductility of monolithic MGs.Here,we report the effect of the spatial heterogeneity of elasticity,resulting from the inherently inhomogeneous amorphous structures,on the deformation behavior of MGs,specifically focusing on the ductility using multiscale modeling methods.A highly heterogeneous,Gaussian-type shear modulus distribution at the nanoscale is revealed by atomistic simulations in Cu_(64)Zr_(36) MGs,in which the soft population of the distribution exhibits a marked propensity to undergo the inelastic shear transformation.By employing a mesoscale shear transformation zone dynamics model,we find that the organization of such nanometer-scale shear transformation events into shear-band patterns is dependent on the spatial heterogeneity of the local shear moduli.A critical spatial correlation length of elastic heterogeneity is identified for the simulated MGs to achieve the best tensile ductility,which is associated with a transition of shear-band formation mechanisms,from stress-dictated nucleation and growth to structure-dictated strain percolation,as well as a saturation of elastically soft sites participating in the plastic flow.This discovery is important for the fundamental understanding of the role of spatial heterogeneity in influencing the deformation behavior of MGs.We believe that this can facilitate the design and development of new ductile monolithic MGs by a process of tuning the inherent heterogeneity to achieve enhanced ductility in these high-strength metallic alloys. | Neng Wang Jun Ding Feng Yan Mark Asta Robert O.Ritchie Lin Li | 2018 | npj Computational Materials2018,,1: | 4 |
