3Electrical activities of neural systems exposed to sinusoidal induced electric field with random phase显示文摘The brain neural system is often disturbed by electromagnetic and noise environments, and research on dynamic response of its interaction has received extensive attention. This paper investigates electrical activity of Morris-Lecar neural systems exposed to sinusoidal induced electric field(IEF) with random phase generated by electromagnetic effect. By introducing a membrane depolarization model under the effect of random IEF, transition state of firing patterns, including mixed-mode oscillations(MMOs) with layered inter-spike intervals(ISI) and intermittency with a power law distribution in probability density function of ISI, is obtained in a single neuron. Considering the synergistic effects of frequency and noise, coherence resonance is performed by phase noise of IEF under certain parameter conditions. For the neural network without any internal coupling, we demonstrate that synchronous oscillations can be induced by IEF coupling, and suppression of synchronous spiking is achieved effectively by phase noise of IEF. 10Synchronization in a fractional-order dynamic network with uncertain parameters using an adaptive control strategy显示文摘This paper studies synchronization of all nodes in a fractional-order complex dynamic network. An adaptive control strategy for synchronizing a dynamic network is proposed. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory, this paper shows that tracking errors of all nodes in a fractional-order complex network converge to zero. This simple yet practical scheme can be used in many networks such as small-world networks and scale-free networks. 16Identification of tumor-suppressor genes in lung squamous cell carcinoma through integrated bioinformatics analyses显示文摘Lung cancer is a prevalent malignancy,and fatalities of the disease exceed 400,000 cases worldwide.Lung squamous cell carcinoma(LUSC)has been recognized as the most common pathological form of lung cancer.The comprehensive understanding of molecular features related to LUSC progression has great significance in LUSC prognosis assessment and clinical management.In this study,we aim to identify a panel of signature genes closely associated with LUSC,which can provide novel insights into the progression of LUSC.Gene expression profiles were retrieved from public resources including gene expression omnibus(GEO)and the cancer genome atlas(TCGA)database.Differentially expressed genes(DEGs)between LUSC specimens and normal lung tissues were identified by bioinformatics analyses.A total of 66 DEGs were identified based on two cohorts of data.CytoHubba plugin of Cytoscape software was utilized for the further analyses of the top 10 candidate hub genes including OGN,ABI3BP,MAMDC2,FGF7,FAM107A,SPARCL1,DCN,COL14A1,and MFAP4 and CHRDL1,which showed significant downregulation in LUSC.Two LUSC cell lines were used to validate the functions of CHRDL1 and FAM107A through overexpression experiment.Together,our data revealed novel candidate tumor-suppressor genes in LUSC,suggesting previously unappreciated mechanisms in the progression of LUSC.HENG LI YOUMING LEI GAOFENG LI YUNCHAO HUANG 2024Oncology Research2024,32,1:0
17'Third eye' of colonoscopists: a preclinical comparative study of artificial intelligence-assisted polyp detection显示文摘To the Editor: In China, colorectal cancer (CRC) ranks third in cancer incidence and fifth in cancer-related deaths.[1] Most CRCs arise from adenomatous polyps. Colonoscopy can detect and remove polyps early to prevent CRC. However, the polyp miss rate in conventional colonoscopy may be more than 40%.[2] New endoscopic devices for detecting polyps have made some progress over the past few decades,[3] but are still operator-dependent and require additional costs. Therefore, artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted polyp detection systems have emerged in recent years. 18miR-34b-3p Inhibition of eIF4E Causes Post-stroke Depression in Adult Mice显示文摘Post-stroke depression(PSD)is a serious and common complication of stroke,which seriously afects the rehabilitation of stroke patients.To date,the pathogenesis of PSD is unclear and efective treatments remain unavailable.Here,we established a mouse model of PSD through photothrombosis-induced focal ischemia.By using a combination of brain imaging,transcriptome sequencing,and bioinformatics analysis,we found that the hippocampus of PSD mice had a signifcantly lower metabolic level than other brain regions.RNA sequencing revealed a signifcant reduction of miR34b-3p,which was expressed in hippocampal neurons and inhibited the translation of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E(eIF4E).Furthermore,silencing eIF4E inactivated microglia,inhibited neuroinfammation,and abolished the depression-like behaviors in PSD mice.Together,our data demonstrated that insufcient miR34b-3p after stroke cannot inhibit eIF4E translation,which causes PSD by the activation of microglia in the hippocampus.Therefore,miR34b-3p and eIF4E may serve as potential therapeutic targets for the treatment of PSD.Xiao Ke Manfei Deng Zhuoze Wu Hongyan Yu Dian Yu Hao Li Youming Lu Kai Shu Lei Pei 2023Neuroscience Bulletin2023,39,2:0
