1Properties and microstructure of VC/Cr_3C_2-doped WC/Co cemented carbides显示文摘This paper deals with the effects of codoped VC/Cr3C2 and sintering temperature on the magnetic and mechanical properties of ultra-fine grained WC-12%Co alloys. Results show that the synergistic action of doped VC/Cr3C2 in optimal proportion enhances both the hardness and transverse rupture strength (TRS) of the alloys, with more homogeneous microstructure. When the alloy is sintered at 1430°C and with 0.5% Cr3C2/0.2% VC, the TRS reaches 3786 MPa, the hardness is 91.7 HRA and the grain size smaller than 0.6 μm. The numerical analyses on grain growth during the sintering process show that both VC precipitating on the WC grain boundary and Cr3C2 dissolving in the Co phase decrease the solid/liquid interfacial energy γ, the process of dissolution and reprecipitation is greatly retarded and the coarsening of WC grains is inhibited.LEI Yiwen SUN Jing DU Xiwen ZHAI Qi HU Shengliang 2007Rare Metals2007,26,6:7
2Anti-hyperglycemic effects of dihydromyricetin in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats显示文摘Dihydromyricetin(DHM),as a bioactive flavanonol compound,is mainly found in“Tengcha”(Ampelopsis grossedentata)cultivated in south of China.This study aimed to investigate the anti-hyperglycemic and antidyslipidemic activities of DHM using type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2D)rats,which was induced by feeding with high fat and fructose diet for 42 days and intraperitoneal administration of streptozocin.Forty-eight freshlyweaned rats were randomly assigned into the negative control(Blank),low dose(100 mg/kg),medium dose(200 mg/kg),high dose(400 mg/kg),and positive(40 mg/kg,met)groups.Fasting blood glucose and body weight were measured at weekly interval.Oral glucose tolerance tests were performed on days 42.The results revealed that DHM possessed significant antihyperglycaemic and antihyperinsulinemic effects.Moreover,after the DHM treatment,p-Akt and p-AMPK expression was upregulated,and glycogen synthase kinase-3β(GSK-3β)expression was downregulated,indicating that the potential anti-diabetic mechanism of DHM might be due to the regulation of the AMPK/Akt/GSK-3βsignaling pathway.Maojun Yao Hui Teng Qiyan Lv Huifang Gao Tengming Guo Yiwen Lin Sihai Gao Meihu Ma Lei Chen 2021Food Science and Human Wellness2021,10,2:6
3Migration routes,population status and important sites used by the globally threatened Black-faced Spoonbill(Platalea minor):a synthesis of surveys and tracking studies显示文摘Background:The Black-faced Spoonbill(Platalea minor)is a globally threatened species,nesting mainly in western Korea with smaller numbers breeding in Liaoning Province,China,and Far East Russia.Recent winter field surveys to estimate the species'population size were almost totally conducted in coastal areas,but tracking studies showed that some individuals now winter inland.To ensure its long-term survival,we need a more comprehensive assessment of the current distribution and abundance of the species.Methods:We combined the most recent count data and satellite tracking information to update existing informa-tion about the population abundance and distribution of the Black-faced Spoonbill at all stages of its annual life cycle,and how these have changed during 2004-2020.Results:Black-faced Spoonbills mainly breed on the west coast of the Korean peninsula,while immature birds show a wider summer distribution throughout Yellow Sea coastal areas,when a few remain on wintering sites in the south.Combined tracking results and mid-winter counts confirmed known wintering sites on the east and south coasts of China,but showed that the species also winters on wetlands in the Yangtze River floodplain and in Southeast Asia.During 2004-2020,counts of wintering birds in coastal habitats increased from 1198 to 4864,with numbers wintering on the island of Taiwan contributing most to the overall increase.Latest counts found 5222 in 2021.We also identify key wintering and stopover sites as well as their current conservation status.Conclusions:This study revised the known summering and wintering ranges of the Black-faced Spoonbill and assessed the conservation status of key sites based on a combination of field survey and satellite tracking data.We recommend prioritisation of further field research to identify and survey inland wintering areas in the Yangtze River floodplain and summering areas of immature birds.More tracking of adult individuals and birds during spring migration is necessary to fill these information gaps.We also suggest establishing a Black-faced Spoonbill monitoring platform to store,share and show real-time distribution range and population abundance data.Yiwen Chen Yat-tung Yu Fanjuan Meng Xueqin Deng Lei Cao Anthony David Fox 2021Avian Research2021,12,4:3
4Metal ion-promoted fabrication of melanin-like poly(L-DOPA)nanoparticles for photothermal actuation显示文摘Melanin-inspired polymers are currently the focus of growing interest for a wide range of applications ranging from energy to biomedical area.Whilst researchers have made numerous attempts to prepare and utilize polydopamine nanoparticles(PDA NPs),they have made limited progress in developing and discovering another typical functional mimic of natural melanin,poly(levodopa)(P(L-DOPA))NPs,probably due to the lack of facile synthetic strategies towards satisfactory structural and functional control of melanin-like NPs.Herein,we reported a one-pot preparation method towards P(L-DOPA)NPs with good yields and controllable size/property in an aqueous solution assisted by various metal ions(i.e.,Ni(II),Mg(II),Ca(II),Fe(III),Mn(II),Co(II),Zn(II)and Cd(II)).Interestingly,the resulting P(L-DOPA)NPs exhibited enhanced light absorption and photothermal behaviors compared with well-established PDA NPs,which can be employed to further fabricate kinds of photothermal composite actuators with promising performances such as folding,switching,and forward-moving.This study offers a facile and robust way to synthesize new synthetic melanins beyond PDA,and facilitates further functional discovery and evolution of melanin-inspired polymers and composites.Xianheng Wang Lei Yang Peng Yang Wancai Guo Quan-Ping Zhang Xianhu Liu Yiwen Li 2020Science China Chemistry2020,63,9:3
5Sintering characteristics and microstructure of WC-Co-VC/Cr_3C_2 ultrafine cemented carbides显示文摘The sintering characteristics, microstructure, and mechanical properties of ultrafine WC-12%Co-0.2%VC/0.5%Cr3C2 cemented carbides were investigated. Dilatometric and differential thermal analyses (DTA) indicate that the compacts start to shrink at 600°C, the shrinkage rate peak is at 1190°C, and the liquid formation temperature is lower than the W-C-Co eutectic temperature (1330°C). Microstructure analysis results show that the cemented carbides with fine and homogeneous microstructure were obtained when sintered at 1430°C. Continuous and discontinuous grain growth was suppressed due to the synergistic action of VC/Cr3C2. The transverse rupture strength (TRS) of the samples reaches 4286 MPa, with the hardness HRA 92.1. The fine and homogeneous microstructure, alloy strengthening, and different phase constitutions of binder in the cemented carbides result in high hardness and TRS. Continuous and discontinuous grain growth was observed in the cemented carbide sintered at 1450°C, which results in significant decreases of hardness and TRS. 6Migration routes,behavior and protection status of Eurasian Spoonbills(Platalea leucorodia)wintering in China显示文摘Background:The Eurasian Spoonbill(Platalea leucorodia)occurs throughout Eurasia and North and sub-Saharan Africa,with three recognized subspecies and six geographically distributed populations.However,in China,we knew almost nothing about migration routes,habitat use and effectiveness of current site protection measures for this species.Methods:We deployed Global Positioning System/Global System for Mobile Communications(GPS/GSM)satellite trackers on 29 Eurasian Spoonbills captured in summer in Mongolia and northeastern China,to obtain complete migration routes data from 10 individuals from 19 complete migration episodes.Results:Tracking data showed no geographical overlap during the annual cycle in Eurasian Spoonbills marked in the two main summering areas.Birds marked in the Naoli River Basin in Heilongjiang Province,China,wintered along the Jiangsu coastline in China,while Eurasian Spoonbills from two discrete summering areas(in Inner and western Mon-golia)overwintered inland in the Yangtze River floodplain of China.Excluding the single Inner Mongolian bird,spring migration was significantly faster than autumn migration in the other two groups of birds.Eurasian Spoonbills mainly used water,wetland and grassland habitats in summer,but almost exclusively water in winter.Lack of protection of staging sites used by all the birds in spring and poor levels of protection throughout the annual cycle for western Mongolian birds(5-22%)gives considerable cause for concern,although sites used in other time by East Mongolian and Naoli River birds in the rest of their annual life cycle enjoyed good levels of protection(49-95%).Conclusions:These results revealed previously unknown relationships between summering and wintering areas,migration routes and stopover sites for Eurasian Spoonbills wintering in China,suggesting the existence of discrete biogeographical population units.They also identified winter habitat use of Eurasian Spoonbills in China,confirming open water habitats as being critical throughout the annual cycle,although based on small sample size,gaps in cur-rent site safeguard networks for these populations.Jire Xi Xueqin Deng Gerelt Zhao Nyambayar Batbayar Iderbat Damba Qingshan Zhao Shoubin Cui Chao Jiang Yiwen Chen Yat-tung Yu Lei Cao Anthony David Fox 2021Avian Research2021,12,4:1

11Phase characterisation of metalenses显示文摘Metalenses have emerged as a new optical element or system in recent years,showing superior performance and abundant applications.However,the phase distribution of a metalens has not been measured directly up to now,hindering further quantitative evaluation of its performance.We have developed an interferometric imaging phase measurement system to measure the phase distribution of a metalens by taking only one photo of the interference pattern.Based on the measured phase distribution,we analyse the negative chromatic aberration effect of monochromatic metalenses and propose a feature size of metalenses.Different sensitivities of the phase response to wavelength between the Pancharatnam-Berry phase-based metalens and propagation phase-reliant metalens are directly observed in the experiment.Furthermore,through phase distribution analysis,it is found that the distance between the measured metalens and the brightest spot of focusing will deviate from the focal length when the metalens has a low nominal numerical aperture,even though the metalens is ideal without any fabrication error.We also use the measured phase distribution to quantitatively characterise the imaging performance of the metalens.Our phase measurement system will help not only designers optimise the designs of metalenses but also fabricants distinguish defects to improve the fabrication process,which will pave the way for metalenses in industrial applications.Maoxiong Zhao Mu Ku Chen Ze-Peng Zhuang Yiwen Zhang Ang Chen Qinmiao Chen Wenzhe Liu Jiajun Wang Ze-Ming Chen Bo Wang Xiaohan Liu Haiwei Yin Shumin Xiao Lei Shi Jian-Wen Dong Jian Zi Din Ping Tsai 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,4:1

16S,S-Tetrazine-Based Hydrogels with Visible Light Cleavable Properties for On-Demand Anticancer Drug Delivery显示文摘Photocleavable hydrogels are of great importance in the field of controlled drug delivery,stem cell fate regulation,surface patterning,and intelligent devices.However,the development of novel photocleavable gel systems by visible light is usually met with challenges such as the lack of efficient and tunable photocleavable groups and reactions.Herein,we reported the facile fabrication of a new type of photocleavable hydrogels by the direct gelation of 4-arm thiol-terminated polyethylene glycol with 3,6-dichloro-1,2,4,5-tetrazine via the formation of S,S-tetrazine linkages.The prepared hydrogels underwent efficient degradation upon irradiation by ultraviolet or green light,and the degradation kinetics could be significantly promoted by hydrogen peroxide.Correspondingly,the hydrogels loaded with calcium peroxide microparticles or glucose oxidase/catalase enzymes enabled the precise and efficient in vivo photocontrol of gel degradation and drug release for cancer treatment.This work offers a promising and facile strategy towards the fabrication of visible light cleavable hydrogels with tunable and ondemand drug release properties.Changping Wang Chongyi Liu Qiyao Wei Lei Yang Peng Yang Yiwen Li Yiyun Cheng 2020Research2020,,1:1

19Compact MPPC-based coded aperture imaging camera for dual-particle detection显示文摘Purpose Fast neutrons and gamma-ray imaging detection is an effective way to detect and identify radioactive material in the field of nuclear security.A compact coded aperture imaging(CAI)camera was designed to be sensitive to both gamma and neutron radiation based on plastic scintillators and multi-pixel photon counters(MPPC).Methods MPPCs coupling with the 13×13 pixelated plastic scintillators one-to-one were utilized to reduce the scale of the CAI system while maintaining good positional performance.The symmetric charge division(SCD)circuit was adopted to reduce the 169 signals output from the MPPC array to 26.Each waveform was collected and processed with four Domino Ring Sampler 4(DRS4)chips and two 16-channel analog-to-digital converter(ADC)modules.As the pulse shapes of fast neutrons would be broadened after elastic scattering multiple times in the scintillators,the Anger-Logic method was applied to eliminate multiple elastic scattering events so that good pulse shape discrimination(PSD)performance can be achieved.Results The imaging and detection ability of the camerawas evaluated using the 241Am-Be(5.9×10^(5) n/s)neutron source and 137Cs(370 MBq)gammasource.The camera can be used to detect fast neutrons(0.5–10 MeV)and gammarays(0.2–2.5MeV).Furthermore,it can implement efficient neutron/gamma PSD capabilities in the mixed-field environment.The figure of merit(FOM)of the camera calculated at 400keVee energy cut is 0.93.Conclusion A compact MPPC-based CAI camera was designed to detect and discriminate fast neutrons and gamma rays.Its good PSD performance was well suited to distinguish fast neutrons from gamma rays in a dual-particle environment.The portable design makes it promising for complex monitoring scenarios in nuclear security.Jing Guo Xiaoyu Pang Jiale Cai Daowu Li Xiaoming Wang Xuanhou Hu Yue Yu Shuangquan Liu Xiuzuo Liang Yiwen Zhang Lei Shuai Long Wei 2021Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2021,5,1:1
20Preparation and Study of Borosilicate Foam Glass with High Thermal Insulation and Mechanical Strength显示文摘Foam glass is a kind of green building material that is widely used because of its excellent thermal insulation and mechanical properties.In this study,the borosilicate foam glass was fabricated by powder sintering method using recycled soda lime waste glass,quartz,and borax as the primary raw materials.CaCO_(3)was used as a foaming agent and Na_(2)CO_(3)as a flux agent.Results showed that as the quartz content decreases from 30 to 17.5 wt.%and borax content increases from 5 to 17.5 wt.%,the pore size,porosity,and thermal insulation of borosilicate foam glass increase significantly,while the compressive strength decreases slightly.When the content of quartz and borax are both 17.5 wt.%,borosilicate foam glass with outstanding performance can be prepared,whose pore distribution is uniform,mean pore size is 1.93 mm,total porosity is 83.44%,thermal conductivity is 0.0711W/(m⋅K),and compressive strength is 2.37 MPa.Finally,the influences of foaming agent content,flux agent content,foaming temperature,and holding time on the pore structure and various properties of borosilicate foam glass were investigated by orthogonal test.According to the results,the foaming temperature has a significant effect,and appropriate foaming agent content,flux agent content,and holding time help to form a uniform pore structure,thereby improving the thermal insulation and mechanical strength of the borosilicate foam glass.Yiwen Zhang Jianjun Xie Minghui Sun Shaolong Wang Tengfei Xu Yonggen Xu Xiaoqing Ding Ying Shi Lei Zhang 2023Journal of Renewable Materials2023,11,5:0
