| 1 | Joint time delay and energy optimization with intelligent overclocking in edge computing显示文摘With the rapid growth of user equipment(UE),the amount of data transmitted over networks has become enormous,exerting immense pressure on backbone networks and central cloud infrastructures.Simultaneously,corresponding applications requiring high energy consumption and low latency have multiplied the requirements for UE.Mobile edge computing(MEC)has been proposed to support the offloading of UE tasks to edge clouds for execution.The implementation of MEC requires fast data transmission between UE and edge servers,and the emerging 5G network appears to render this technology possible.In this paper,considering a large number of UE,a fixed MEC server,and an advanced intelligent network,we suggest an intelligent overclocking mechanism for the MEC server that operates for an intelligently calculated period to allow it to leverage more computing power without introducing additional hardware resources for a certain period of time.We jointly manage task offloading,server resource allocation,and overclocking to minimize the system-wide computation overhead and other risks.The proposed optimization problem is a mixedinteger nonlinear programming problem that is divided into three subproblems:offloading decision,resource allocation,and overclocking decision.We solve these subproblems using non-convex techniques and provide an iterative algorithm to obtain a heuristic solution for the original problem.Finally,simulation results show that the overclocked MEC server has lower system-wide computation overhead,faster task processing,and more offloaded UE as compared with the case without overclocking. | Kehao WANG Zhenhua XIONG Lin CHEN Pan ZHOU Hyundong SHIN | 2020 | Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,4: | 2 |

| 4 | Femtosecond laser fabrication of nanograting-based distributed fiber sensors for extreme environmental applications显示文摘The femtosecond laser has emerged as a powerful tool for micro-and nanoscale device fabrication. Through nonlinear ionization processes, nanometer-sized material modifications can be inscribed in transparent materials for device fabrication. This paper describes femtosecond precision inscription of nanograting in silica fiber cores to form both distributed and point fiber sensors for sensing applications in extreme environmental conditions. Through the use of scanning electron microscope imaging and laser processing optimization,high-temperature stable, Type II femtosecond laser modifications were continuously inscribed,point by point, with only an insertion loss at 1 d B m~(-1) or 0.001 d B per point sensor device.High-temperature performance of fiber sensors was tested at 1000℃, which showed a temperature fluctuation of ±5.5℃ over 5 days. The low laser-induced insertion loss in optical fibers enabled the fabrication of a 1.4 m, radiation-resilient distributed fiber sensor. The in-pile testing of the distributed fiber sensor further showed that fiber sensors can execute stable and distributed temperature measurements in extreme radiation environments. | 7 | Evidence of the predominance of passive symplastic phloem loading and sugar transport with leaf ageing in Camellia oleifera显示文摘Phloem loading and transport of sugar from leaves to sink tissues such as fruits are crucial for yield formation.Camellia oleifera is an evergreen horticultural crop with high value;however,its low production limits the development of the C.oleifera industry.In this study,using a combination of ultrastructural observation,fluorescence loss in photobleaching(FLIP)and inhibitor treatment,we revealed that C.oleifera leaves mainly adopt a symplastic loading route from mesophyll cells to the surrounding vascular bundle cells in minor veins.HPLC assays showed that sucrose is the main sugar transported and only a small amount of raffinose or stachyose was detected in petioles,supporting a passive symplastic loading route in C.oleifera leaves.Compared to leaves grown this year(LT),the carbohydrate synthesis capacity in leaves grown last year(LL)was decreased while LL retained more soluble sugar,suggesting a decrease in transport capacity with leaf ageing.TEM and tissue staining showed that a reduction in plasmodesmata density leads to a decline in the degree of cellular coupling and is responsible for the weakening transport capacity in older leaves.RNA-seq revealed several differentially expressed genes(DEGs)including CoPDCB1-1,CoSUT1 and CoSWEET12,which are likely involved in the regulation of phloem loading and sugar transport.An expression correlation network is constructed between PD-callose binding protein genes,sugar transporter genes and senescence-associated genes.Collectively,this study provides the evidence of the passive symplastic phloem loading pathway in C.oleifera leaves and constructs the correlation between sugar transport and leaf ageing. | Shiwen Yang Kehao Liang Yongjiang Sun Jinshun Zhang Yibo Cao Jing Zhou Aibin Wang Lingyun Zhang | 2023 | Horticultural Plant Journal2023,9,4: | 0 |
| 8 | Comparative transcriptome profiling reveals the defense pathways and mechanisms in the leaves and roots of blueberry to drought stress显示文摘Blueberry is an important horticultural plant that is very susceptible to drought.However,the molecular regulation mechanisms of blueberry tolerance to drought remain elusive.In this study,the transcriptome profile of blueberry by RNA-seq under different degrees of drought treatment were conducted and drought-related genes and pathways were screened using weighted gene co-expression network analysis(WGCNA)and Venn analysis.Interestingly,the leaves and roots of blueberry exhibited different expression patterns under drought treatment and differentially expressed genes(DEGs),GO terms and KEGG pathways were more enriched in leaves than in roots.The majority of DEGs were associated with signal transduction,transcriptional regulation,and metabolism.Eight key pathways and eight DEGs were shared both in leaves and roots.Notably,the pathway with the most core genes in leaves is the plant hormone signal transduction pathway,and in roots are the MAPK signaling pathway,reactive oxygen species metabolism and the key genes such as VcXTH3,VcPP2C51,and VcPNC1 were identified.For transcription factors,VcABR1,VcABF2,VcMYB108 and VcMYB93 are likely involved in drought response.In the metabolism category,VcCYP75A1 was likely involved in anthocyanin biosynthesis,and VcPNC1 in the monoterpenoid biosynthesis pathway.The eight DEGs markedly induced under drought exhibited differential expression in leaves and roots.Correspondingly,physiological assays showed that POD activity,ABA content,and anthocyanin biosynthesis in leaves and roots were significantly increased.Collectively,our study revealed the synergistic and distinct defense pathways and mechanisms in leaves and roots of blueberry and explored the potential regulatory network in blueberry response to drought stress. | Aibin Wang Lei Wang Kui Liu Kehao Liang Shiwen Yang Yibo Cao Lingyun Zhang | 2022 | Fruit Research2022,2,1: | 0 |

| 11 | TopicBubbler:An interactive visual analytics system for cross-level fine-grained exploration of social media data显示文摘How to explore fine-grained but meaningful information from the massive amount of social media data is critical but challenging.To address this challenge,we propose the TopicBubbler,a visual analytics system that supports the cross-level fine-grained exploration of social media data.To achieve the goal of cross-level fine-grained exploration,we propose a new workflow.Under the procedure of the workflow,we construct the fine-grained exploration view through the design of bubble-based word clouds.Each bubble contains two rings that can display information through different levels,and recommends six keywords computed by different algorithms.The view supports users collecting information at different levels and to perform fine-grained selection and exploration across different levels based on keyword recommendations.To enable the users to explore the temporal information and the hierarchical structure,we also construct the Temporal View and Hierarchical View,which satisfy users to view the cross-level dynamic trends and the overview hierarchical structure.In addition,we use the storyline metaphor to enable users to consolidate the fragmented information extracted across levels and topics and ultimately present it as a complete story.Case studies from real-world data confirm the capability of the TopicBubbler from different perspectives,including event mining across levels and topics,and fine-grained mining of specific topics to capture events hidden beneath the surface. | Jielin Feng Kehao Wu Siming Chen | 2023 | Visual Informatics2023,7,4: | 0 |
