| 2 | Effects of mixture ratio on anaerobic co-digestion with fruit and vegetable waste and food waste of China显示文摘The biochemical methane potentials for typical fruit and vegetable waste (FVW) and food waste (FW) from a northern China city were investigated,which were 0.30,0.56 m 3 CH 4/kgVS (volatile solids) with biodegradabilities of 59.3% and 83.6%,respectively.Individual anaerobic digestion testes of FVW and FW were conducted at the organic loading rate (OLR) of 3 kg VS/(m 3 ·day) using a lab-scale continuous stirred-tank reactor at 35℃.FVW could be digested stably with the biogas production rate of 2.17 m 3/(m 3 ·day) and methane production yield of 0.42 m 3 CH 4/kg VS.However,anaerobic digestion process for FW was failed due to acids accumulation.The effects of FVW:FW ratio on co-digestion stability and performance were further investigated at the same OLR.At FVW and FW mixing ratios of 2:1 and 1:1,the performance and operation of the digester were maintained stable,with no accumulation of volatile fatty acids (VFA) and ammonia.Changing the feed to a higher FW content in a ratio of FVW to FW 1:2,resulted in an increase in VFAs concentration to 1100-1200mg/L,and the methanogenesis was slightly inhibited.At the optimum mixture ratio 1:1 for co-digestion of FVW with FW,the methane production yield was 0.49 m 3 CH 4/kg VS,and the volatile solids and soluble chemical oxygen demand (sCOD) removal efficiencies were 74.9% and 96.1%,respectively. | Jia Lin Jiane Zuo Lili Gan Peng Li Fenglin Liu Kaijun Wang Lei Chen Hainan Gan | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,8: | 36 |

| 4 | Starch/polyvinyl alcohol blended materials used as solid carbon source for tertiary denitrification of secondary efuent显示文摘Starch/polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) blended materials for using as a solid carbon source(SCS) were prepared by blending PVA and gelatinized starch in an aqueous solution system, in which PVA served as framework material and starch as carbon source. The optimization of starch content and temperature efects were investigated. It was indicated that higher denitrification efciency could be achieved with more starch in the materials. The average specific denitrification rates were 0.93, 0.66, 0.37 and 0.36 mg/(g·day)corresponding to starch content of 70%, 60%, 40% and 30% respectively at 37°C. The denitrification rates increased when operating temperature was raised from 23°C to 30°C and then 37°C. The mechanism of carbon release was analyzed incorporating the experimental results of abiotic release in deionized water. The organic carbon was mainly hydrolyzed by microbes, and the biological release efciencies were at the range of 89.2% to 96.0%. A long-term experiment with a continuous flow reactor with SCS material containing 70% starch was conducted to gain some experience for practical application. When the influent nitrate concentration was in the range of 35.2 to 39.1 mg/L, hydraulic retention time of 4 hr, and operating temperature of 30°C, a nitrogen removal efciency up to94.6% and denitrification rate of 0.217 kg/(m3·day) was achieved. | 5 | Low-Level Wind Shear Characteristics and Lidar-Based Alerting at Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport,China显示文摘Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport[International Civil Aviation Organization(ICAO)code ZLLL]is located in a wind shear prone area in China,where most low-level wind shear events occur in dry weather conditions.We analyzed temporal distribution and synoptic circulation background for 18 dry wind shear events reported by pilots at ZLLL by using the NCEP final(FNL)operational global analysis data,and then proposed a lidar-based regional divergence algorithm(RDA)to determine wind shear intensity and location.Low-level wind shear at ZLLL usually occurs in the afternoon and evening in dry conditions.Most wind shear events occur in an unstable atmosphere over ZLLL,with changes in wind speed or direction generally found at 700 hPa and 10-m height.Based on synoptic circulations at 700 hPa,wind shear events could be classified as strong northerly,convergence,southerly,and weak wind types.The proposed RDA successfully identified low-level wind shear except one southerly case,achieving94%alerting rate compared with 82%for the operational system at ZLLL and 88%for the ramp detection algorithm(widely used in some operational alert systems)based on the same dataset.The RDA-unidentified southerly case occurred in a near neutral atmosphere,and wind speed change could not be captured by the Doppler lidar. | Lanqian LI Aimei SHAO Kaijun ZHANG Nan DING Pak-Wai CHAN | 2020 | Journal of Meteorological Research2020,34,3: | 6 |

Based on the traditional solar powered aircraft design method, the propulsion system top-level target parameters which affect the path planning are integrated into the general optimization design. According to the typical mission requirements of Solar-Powered Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, considering the design variables such as wing area, aspect ratio, design mission date and so on, the general optimization is carried out with the minimum aircraft weight as the optimization objective. The influence of wing area and aspect ratio on the optimal design results is analyzed and compared with the traditional design method. | 7 | HrcQ is necessary for Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae HR-induction in non-host tobacco and pathogenicity in host rice显示文摘Bacterial blight, caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae(Xoo), is one of the most destructive diseases of rice(Oryza sativa L.) worldwide. The type III secretion system(T3SS) of Xoo, encoded by the hrp(hypersensitive response and pathogenicity) genes, plays critical roles in conferring pathogenicity in host rice and triggering a hypersensitive response(HR) in non-host plants. To investigate the major genes conferring the pathogenicity and avirulence of Xoo, we previously constructed a random Tn5-insertion mutant library of Xoo strain PXO99A. We report here the isolation and characterization of a Tn5-insertion mutant PXM69. Tn5-insertion mutants were screened on indica rice JG30, which is highly susceptible to PXO99A, by leaf-cutting inoculation.Four mutants with reduced virulence were obtained after two rounds of screening. Among them, the mutant PXM69 had completely lost virulence to the rice host and ability to elicit HR in non-host tobacco. Southern blotting analysis showed a single copy of a Tn5-insertion in the genome of PXM69. PCR walking and sequencing analysis revealed that the Tn5 transposon was inserted at nucleotide position 70,192–70,201 in the genome of PXO99A, disrupting the type III hrc(hrp-conserved) gene hrcQ, the first gene in the D operon of the hrp cluster in Xoo. To confirm the relationship between the Tn5-insertion and the avirulence phenotype of PXM69, we used the marker exchange mutagenesis to create a PXO99Amutant, ΔhrcQ::KAN, in which the hrcQ was disrupted by a kanamycin-encoding gene cassette at the same site as that of the Tn5-insertion. ΔhrcQ::KAN showed the same phenotype as mutant PXM69. Reintroduction of the wild-type hrcQ gene partially complemented the pathogenic function of PXM69. RT-PCR and cellulase secretion assays showed that the Tn5-disruption of hrcQ did not affect transcription of downstream genes in the D operon and function of the type II secretion system. | 8 | Development of transplanting manipulator for hydroponic leafy vegetables显示文摘The production of hydroponic leafy vegetable plug-seedlings uses coco-peat as culture substrate in South China.Coco-peat has lowered density than peat-moss,and the friction between substrate block and pickup tool is small.So,it is hard to pick up in mechanism transplantation.In order to increase the friction,the existing transplanting manipulator had relatively complex structures.To simplify the structure of transplanting manipulator and improve the stability of picking up substrate block,four stainless steel fingers with rectangular cross-section were used in this research.A vertical driving was used to realize the coupling effect that could insert and shrink at the same time,by applying different combination of constraints to the steel fingers.This could increase friction between the steel fingers and the substrate block,and then enhance the stability of the substrate block.Different combinations of constraints were applied to the rectangular stainless steel fingers(3 mm×0.8 mm).The working videos of steel fingers were taken by high-speed photography.High-speed motioned analysis software was used to acquire and analyze traces of steel fingers movements.When the length which top end of the steel fingers moved outward(M)is equal to 1.5 mm,the length which guiding part widened(N)is equal to 1 mm,the shrinking distance of steel fingers is 4.2 mm.In this research,16-day hydroponic leafy vegetable plug-seedlings were used for performance,which cultivated with coco-peat substrate with the moisture in the substrate at 81%.The transplanting manipulator was attached to a Denso robotic arm to conduct transplanting performance test.When the shrinking distance of steel fingers increased from 0 mm to 3.2 mm and the inserting angle decreased from 80°to 77°,the lifting force of substrate block increased by 118%from 1.45 N to 3.16 N.However,excessive shrinkage stirred the substrate block,which would reduce the friction between the substrate block and pickup parts and lowered the lifting force of pickup part in the substrate block.The experimental results also demonstrated that when the shrinking distance of the steel fingers reached 3.2 mm and the root distribution rate reached 46%,the success rate of transplantation was 80%.When the leafy vegetable plug-seedlings root distribution rate reached 92%,the success rate of transplantation was 96.67%.The degree of root distribution rate was positively correlated with the transplantation success rate.Therefore,in order to ensure an acceptable success rate of transplantation,the root distribution rate of leafy vegetable plug-seedlings should be at least 90%.This study provides a technical reference for developing simplified transplanting manipulator that can be used to transplant the hydroponic leafy vegetable plug-seedlings with coco-peat as the culture substrate. | Bo Li Song Gu Qi Chu Yanli Yang Zhongjian Xie Kaijun Fan Xiaogeng Liu | 2019 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,6: | 4 |

It provides complete direct velocity measurement information for the traditional navigation methods represented by astronomical angle measurement and astronomical ranging, which is of great significance for spacecraft high precision autonomous navigation. This paper comprehensively introduces the principle and navigation method of astronomical spectral velocity measurement, as well as the technical realization of the solar atomic frequency discriminator for autonomous navigation(SAFDAN) based on atomic frequency discrimination velocity measurement. The new SAFDAN is the first instrument to measure the Doppler velocity of spacecraft relative to the Sun. | 17 | Estimating submarine groundwater discharge at a subtropical river estuary along the Beibu Gulf,China显示文摘In certain regions,submarine groundwater discharge(SGD)into the ocean plays a significant role in coastal material fluxes and their biogeochemical cycle;therefore,the impact of SGD on the ecosystem cannot be ignored.In this study,SGD was estimated using naturally occurring radium isotopes(^(223)Ra and ^(224)Ra)in a subtropical estuary along the Beibu Gulf,China.The results showed that the Ra activities of submarine groundwater were approximately 10 times higher than those of surface water.By assuming a steady state and using an Ra mass balance model,the SGD flux in May 2018 was estimated to be 5.98×10^(6) m^(3)/d and 3.60×10^(6) m^(3)/d based on 224Ra and 223Ra,respectively.At the same time,the activities of Ra isotopes fluctuated within a tidal cycle;that is,a lower activity was observed at high tide and a higher activity was seen at low tide.Based on these variations,the average tidal pumping fluxes of SGD were 1.15×10^(6) m^(3)/d and 2.44×10^(6) m^(3)/d with 224Ra and 223Ra,respectively.Tidaldriven SGD accounts for 24%-51%of the total SGD.Therefore,tidal pumping is an important driving force of the SGD in the Dafengjiang River(DFJR)Estuary.Furthermore,the SGD of the DFJR Estuary in the coastal zone contributes significantly to the seawater composition of the Beibu Gulf and the material exchange between land and sea. | Xilong Wang Kaijun Su Juan Du Linwei Li Yanling Lao Guizhen Ning Li Bin | 2021 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2021,40,9: | 1 |
| 18 | Leber Hereditary Optic Neuropathy in a Boy with Fibrous Boney Dysplasia显示文摘Purpose:To report a case of Leber hereditary optic neuropathy combined with fibrous boney dysplasia. Methods: Case report. Results:A 16-year-old boy presented with painless vision loss in both eyes. He had a history of a right humerus fracture and right femoral fracture surgery after an uncomplicated fall.On examination in our clinic, his visual acuity was counting fingers at 20 cm OD and counting fingers at 40 cm OS.Both pupils reacted sluggishly to light.The findings on slit-lamp examination and funduscopy after pupillary dilation were all unremarkable. Computed tomography scans demonstrated fibrous dysplasia involving the right frontal, temporal, parietal, and occipital bones but no stenosis of either optic canal. His serum alkaline phosphatase was 522 U/L (reference range: 40-150 U/L). His vision showed no improvement after intravenous methylprednisolone pulse therapy.Finally,a 11778 mitochondrial DNA mutation was detected. He still had no visual recovery after treatment with oral coenzyme Q10,vitamin B1, and citicoline. Conclusion:Fibrous dysplasia of bone may be associated with Leber hereditary optic neuropathy,possibly due to the fact that it increases local oxygen consumption. The patient underwent left-sided dacryoadenectomy and the diagnosis of IgG4-related Mikulicz's disease was pathologically confirmed.The size of the right-sided lachrymal gland and parotid glands recovered fundamentally after one month of glucocorticoid therapy.Conclusion: IgG4-related Mikulicz's disease associated with thyroiditis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of bilateral swellings of lachrymal glands, salivary glands, and thyroid nodules. Surgical excision is recommended in order to treat the tumor and to ensure the pathological diagnosis. | 20 | Chiral mesoporous silica nano-screws as an efficient biomimetic oral drug delivery platform through multiple topological mechanisms显示文摘In the microscale, bacteria with helical body shapes have been reported to yield advantages in many bio-processes. In the human society, there are also wisdoms in knowing how to recognize and make use of helical shapes with multi-functionality. Herein, we designed atypical chiral mesoporous silica nano-screws(CMSWs) with ideal topological structures(e.g., small section area, relative rough surface,screw-like body with three-dimension chirality) and demonstrated that CMSWs displayed enhanced bioadhesion, mucus-penetration and cellular uptake(contributed by the macropinocytosis and caveolaemediated endocytosis pathways) abilities compared to the chiral mesoporous silica nanospheres(CMSSs)and chiral mesoporous silica nanorods(CMSRs), achieving extended retention duration in the gastrointestinal(GI) tract and superior adsorption in the blood circulation(up to 2.61-and 5.65-times in AUC).After doxorubicin(DOX) loading into CMSs, DOX@CMSWs exhibited controlled drug release manners with pH responsiveness in vitro. Orally administered DOX@CMSWs could efficiently overcome the intestinal epithelium barrier(IEB), and resulted in satisfactory oral bioavailability of DOX(up to 348%).CMSWs were also proved to exhibit good biocompatibility and unique biodegradability.
