| 5 | Shenfu injection attenuates lipopolysaccharide-induced myocardial inflammation and apoptosis in rats显示文摘Shenfu injection(SFI), a Chinese medicinal product, shows potent efficacy in treating sepsis. The aim of the present study was to clarify the protective effects of SFI against lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced myocardial inflammation and apoptosis.Experiments were carried out in Sprague-Dawley(SD) rats treated with LPS or LPS + SFI, and in H9 C2 cardiomyocytes. The sepsisassociated myocardial inflammation and apoptosis was induced by the intraperitoneal injection of LPS(20 mg·kg–1). SFI attenuated the increased expression of tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α and interleukin(IL)-1β induced by LPS both in serum and heart. In LPS group,cell viability was reduced, and reversed after SFI administration. LPS treatment increased the expression levels of cleaved-caspase 3 and Bax, and those of Bcl2 and Bcl2/Bax. These two trends were reversed by SFI administration. The expression levels of phosphorylated mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase(p-MEK) and phosphorylated extracellular regulated protein kinases(p-ERK) were increased by LPS, and reversed by SFI. MEK inhibitor U0126 attenuated the apoptosis induced by LPS. These results indicate that SFI could treat LPS-induced cardiac dysfunction. | 6 | Olfactory ecto-mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes ameliorate murine Sjögren’s syndrome by modulating the function of myeloid-derived suppressor cells显示文摘Sjögren’s syndrome(SS)is a systemic autoimmune disease characterized by progressive inflammation and tissue damage in salivary glands and lacrimal glands.Our previous studies showed that myeloid-derived suppressor cells(MDSCs)exhibited impaired immunosuppressive function during disease progression in patients with SS and mice with experimental Sjögren’s syndrome(ESS),but it remains unclear whether restoring the function of MDSCs can effectively ameliorate the development of ESS.In this study,we found that murine olfactory ecto-mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes(OE-MSC-Exos)significantly enhanced the suppressive function of MDSCs by upregulating arginase expression and increasing ROS and NO levels.Moreover,treatment with OE-MSC-Exos via intravenous injection markedly attenuated disease progression and restored MDSC function in ESS mice.Mechanistically,OE-MSC-Exo-secreted IL-6 activated the Jak2/Stat3 pathway in MDSCs.In addition,the abundant S100A4 in OE-MSC-Exos acted as a key factor in mediating the endogenous production of IL-6 by MDSCs via TLR4 signaling,indicating an autocrine pathway of MDSC functional modulation by IL-6.Taken together,our results demonstrated that OE-MSC-Exos possess therapeutic potential to attenuate ESS progression by enhancing the immunosuppressive function of MDSCs,possibly constituting a new strategy for the treatment of Sjögren’s syndrome and other autoimmune diseases. | Ke Rui Yue Hong Qiugang Zhu Xiaofei Shi Fan Xiao Hailong Fu Qing Yin Yida Xing Xinfeng Wu Xiaodan Kong Huaxi Xu Jie Tian Shengjun Wang Liwei Lu | 2021 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,2: | 12 |

The clear oscillatory zoning of zircons indicates a typical magmatic origin,and the results of dating show that the volcanic rocks of Baiyingaolao Formation were formed in Early Cretaceous( 121. 5 ± 1. 0 Ma). The features of major and trace elements show that the rocks are alkali-rich,poor in calcium and magnesium with enrichment in LILEs like Th,U,K and Gd and depletion in HFSEs,e. g. Nb,Ta,Sr and Ti. The fact implies that they were the products of partial melting of the crust. εHf( t) =( +6.30--+9.06) and TDM2= 600--835 Ma,suggest the magma originated from partial melting of the young crust. | 8 | Outcomes of simple saline-coupled bipolar electrocautery for hepatic resection显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the application of bipolar coagulation(BIP)in hepatectomy by comparing the efficacy of BIP alone,cavitron ultrasonic surgical aspirator(CUSA)+BIP and conventional clamp crushing(CLAMP).METHODS:Based on our database of patient records,a total of 380 consecutive patients who underwent hepatectomy at our hospital were retrospectively studied for the efficacy of BIP alone,CUSA+BIP and CLAMP.Of all the patients,75 received saline-coupled BIP(Group A),53 received CUSA+BIP(Group B),and252 received CLAMP(Group C).The pre-,mid-,and postoperative clinical manifestations were compared,and the effects of those maneuvers were evaluated.RESULTS:There was no obvious difference among the preoperative indexes between the different groups.The operative time was longer in Groups A and B than in Group C(P<0.001 for both).The amount of bleeding and the rate of transfusion during the operation were significantly higher in Group C than in Groups A and B(P<0.001 for all).The incidence of postoperative complications in Group C(46.43%)was higher than that in Groups A(30.67%,P=0.015)and B(28.30%,P=0.016).The patients’liver function recovery and postoperative hospital stay were not significantly different.BIP could decrease intraoperative hemorrhage and postoperative complications compared to CLAMP.CONCLUSION:Simple saline-coupled BIP should be considered a safe and reliable technique for liver resection to decrease intraoperative hemorrhage and postoperative complications. | Jian-Yang Guo De-Wei Li Rui Liao Ping Huang Xian-Bing Kong Ji-Ming Wang Hong-Lin Wang Shi-Qiao Luo Xiong Yan Cheng-You Du | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,26: | 7 |
| 9 | Seismic performance assessment of high CFRDs based on fragility analysis显示文摘Due to a large number of high concrete face rockfill dams(CFRDs) being constructed, the seismic safety is crucially important and seismic performance assessment must be performed for such dams. Fragility analysis is a method of great vitality for seismic performance assessment; it can intuitively forecast the structural effects of different ground motion intensities and provide an effective path for structure safety assessment. However, this method is rarely applied in the field of high earth dam risk analysis.This paper introduces fragility analysis into the field of high CFRD safety assessment and establishes seismic performance assessment methods. PGA, Sa(T1, 5%), PGV and PGD are exploited as the earthquake intensity measure(IMs). Relative settlement ratio of dam crest, cumulative sliding displacement of dam slope stability and a new face-slab destroying index(based on DCR and COD) are regarded as the dam damage measures(DMs). The dividing standards of failure grades of high CFRDs are suggested based on each DM. Fragility function is estimated according to incremental dynamic analysis(IDA) and multiple stripes analysis(MSA) methods respectively from a large number of finite element calculations of a certain CFRD, and seismic fragility curves are determined for each DM. The strains used in the experiment were A/Goose/Guangdong/1/96 (H5N1), A/African starling/983/79 (H7N1) and A/Turkey/Wiscosin/1/66 (H9N2). The capture DNAs clones which encoding approximate 500-bp avian influenza virus gene fragments obtained by RT-PCR, were spotted on a slide-bound microarray. Cy5-labeled fluorescent cDNAs, which generated from virus RNA during reverse transcription were hybridized to these capture DNAs. These capture DNAs contained multiple fragments of the hemagglutinin and matrix protein genes of AIV respectively, for subtyping and typing AIV. The arrays were scanned to determine the probe binding sites. The hybridization pattern agreed approximately with the known grid location of each target. | 15 | Digital Light Processing 3D-Printed Ceramic Metamaterials for Electromagnetic Wave Absorption显示文摘Combining 3D printing with precursor-derived ceramic for fabricating electromagnetic(EM) wave-absorbing metamaterials has attracted great attention. This study presents a novel ultraviolet-curable polysiloxane precursor for digital light processing(DLP) 3D printing to fabricate ceramic parts with complex geometry, no cracks and linear shrinkage. Guiding with the principles of impedance matching, attenuation, and effective-medium theory, we design a crosshelix-array metamaterial model based on the complex permittivity constant of precursor-derived ceramics. The corresponding ceramic metamaterials can be successfully prepared by DLP printing and subsequent pyrolysis process, achieving a low reflection coefficient and a wide effective absorption bandwidth in the X-band even under high temperature. This is a general method that can be extended to other bands, which can be realized by merely adjusting the unit structure of meta-materials. | 17 | Prevalence and clinical application of TMPRSS2-ERG fusion in Asian prostate cancer patients: a large-sample study in Chinese people and a systematic review显示文摘Fusion between the transmembrane protease serine 2 and v-ets erythroblastosis virus E26 oncogene homolog(TMPRSS2-ERG fusion)is a common genetic alteration in prostate cancer among Western populations and has been suggested as playing a role in tumorigenesis and progression of prostate cancer.However,the prevalence of TMPRSS2-ERG fusion differs among different ethnic groups,and contradictory results have been reported in Asian patients.We aim to evaluate the prevalence and significance of TMPRSS2-ERG fusion as a molecular subtyping and prognosis indicator of prostate cancer in Asians.We identified the fusion status in 669 samples from prostate biopsy and radical prostatectomy by fluorescence in situ hybridization and/or immunohistochemistry in China.We examined the association of TMPRSS2-ERG fusion with clinicopathological characteristics and biochemical recurrence by Chi-square test and Kaplan–Meier analysis.Finally,a systematic review was performed to investigate the positive rate of the fusion in Asian prostate cancer patients.McNemar’s test was employed to compare the positive rates of TMPRSS2-ERG fusion detected using different methods.The positive rates of TMPRSS2-ERG fusion were 16%in our samples and 27%in Asian patients.In our samples,9.4%and 19.3%of cases were recognized as fusion positive by fluorescence in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry,respectively.No significant association between the fusion and clinical parameters was observed.TMPRSS2-ERG fusion is not a frequent genomic alteration among Asian prostate cancer patients and has limited significance in clinical practices in China.Besides ethnic difference,detection methods potentially influence the results showing a positive rate of TMPRSS2-ERG fusion. | De-Pei Kong Rui Chen Chun-Lei Zhang Wei Zhang Guang-An Xiao Fu-Bo Wang Na Ta Xu Gao Ying-Hao Sun | 2020 | Asian Journal of Andrology2020,22,2: | 4 |

| 19 | Excavation-induced deep hard rock fracturing:Methodology and applications显示文摘To analyze and predict the mechanical behaviors of deep hard rocks,some key issues concerning rock fracturing mechanics for deep hard rock excavations are discussed.First,a series of apparatuses and methods have been developed to test the mechanical properties and fracturing behaviors of hard rocks under high true triaxial stress paths.Evolution mechanisms of stress-induced disasters in deep hard rock excavations,such as spalling,deep cracking,massive roof collapse,large deformation and rockbursts,have been recognized.The analytical theory for the fracturing process of hard rock masses,including the three-dimensional failure criterion,stress-induced mechanical model,fracturing degree index,energy release index and numerical method,has been established.The cracking-restraint method is developed for mitigating or controlling rock spalling,deep cracking and massive collapse of deep hard rocks.An energy-controlled method is also proposed for the prevention of rockbursts.Finally,two typical cases are used to illustrate the application of the proposed methodology in the Baihetan caverns and Bayu tunnels of China. | Xia-Ting Feng Cheng-Xiang Yang Rui Kong Jun Zhao Yangyi Zhou Zhibin Yao Lei Hu | 2022 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2022,14,1: | 4 |
| 20 | The Value of Subjective Visual Vertical in Diagnosis of Vestibular Migraine显示文摘Objective To study the value of the subjective visual vertical(SVV)in the diagnosis of vestibular migraine(VM).Methods This study recruited 128 VM patients and 64 age-matched normal subjects.We detected the SVV during the interval between attacks in both groups,in sitting upright,and the head tilted at 45°to the left or right.We then examined the correlation between the SVV results with the vestibular evoked myogenic potential(VEMP)and canal paresis(CP).Results It was found there was a significant difference in SVV at the upright position between VM patients and normal controls(P=0.006)and no significant difference was found at the tilts of 45°to the left or right between the two groups.The SVV results at the upright position were significantly correlated with cervical VEMP(P=0.042)whereas not significantly correlated with CP and VEMP.There existed no significant difference in the conformity to the Müller effect(M effect)between the two groups.ROC analysis exhibited that the sensitivity,specificity of SVVs at the upright were 67.200%and 62.500%respectively.The diagnostic value of SVV at the upright position was significantly higher than that at tilts of 45°to the left and right(P=0.006).Nonetheless the diagnostic accuracy was relatively low.Conclusion Abnormality in SVV possibly stems from the lasting functional disorder of cerebellar or high-level cortical centers in VM patients or is linked to the vestibular compensation.The SVV is of low diagnostic value for VM and the value of SVV in VM warrants further study. | Fei LI Jin XU Gen-ru LI Rui GAO Chen-yong SHANG E TIAN Wei-jia KONG Jian-hua ZHUANG Su-lin ZHANG | 2021 | Current Medical Science2021,41,4: | 3 |
