5Ten-Hour Stable Noninvasive Brain-Computer Interface Realized by Semidry Hydrogel-Based Electrodes显示文摘Noninvasive brain computer interface(BCI)has been extensively studied from many aspects in the past decade.In order to broaden the practical applications of BCI technique,it is essential to develop electrodes for electroencephalogram(EEG)collection with advanced characteristics such as high conductivity,long term efectiveness,and biocompatibility.In this study,we devcloped a silver-nanowire/PVA hydrogc/mclamine sponge(AgPHMS)semidry EEG electrode for long lasting monitoring of EEG signal.Benefiting from the water storage capacity of PVA hydrogel,the clectrolyte solution can be continuously released to the scalpelctrode interface during used.The electrolyte solution can infiltrate the stratum corneum and reduce the scalp-electrode impedance to 10k0-15k0.The flexible structure enabls the electrode with mechanical stability,increases the wearing comfort,and reduces the scalp-electrode gap to reduce contact impedance.As a result,a long-term BCI application based on measurements of motion-onset visual evoked potentials(mVEPs)shows that the 3-hour BCI accuracy of the new electrode(77%to 100%)is approximately the same as that of conventional eletrodes supported by a conductive gel during the first hour.Furthermore,the BCI system based on the new electrode can retain low contact impedance for 10 hours on scalp,which greatly improved the ability of BCI technique.Junchen Liu Sen Lin Wenzheng Li Yanzhen Zhao Dingkun Liu Zhaofeng He Dong Wang Ming Lei Bo Hong Hui Wu 2022Research2022,,2:1

8Themis suppresses the effector function of CD8^(+)T cells in acute viral infection显示文摘CD8^(+)T cells play a central role in antiviral immune responses.Upon infection,naive CD8^(+)T cells differentiate into effector cells to eliminate virus-infected cells,and some of these effector cells further differentiate into memory cells to provide long-term protection after infection is resolved.Although extensively investigated,the underlying mechanisms of CD+T-cell differentiation remain incompletely understood.Themis is a T-cell-specific protein that plays critical roles in T-cell development.Recent studies using Themis T-cell conditional knockout mice also demonstrated that Themis is required to promote mature CD8^(+)T-cell homeostasis,cytokine responsiveness,and antibacterial responses.In this study,we used LCMV Armstrong infection as a probe to explore the role of Themis in viral infection.We found that preexisting CD8^(+)T-cell homeostasis defects and cytokine hyporesponsiveness do not impair viral clearance in Themis T-cell conditional knockout mice.Further analyses showed that in the primary immune response,Themis deficiency promoted the differentiation of CD8^(+)effector cells and increased their TNF and IFNy production.Moreover,Themis deficiency impaired memory precursor cell(MPEC)differentiation but promoted short-lived effector cell(SLEC)differentiation.Themis deficiency also enhanced effector cytokine production in memory CD8^(+)T cells while impairing central memory CD8^(+)T-cell formation.Mechanistically,we found that Themis mediates PD-1 expression and its signaling in effector CD8^(+)T cells,which explains the elevated cytokine production in these cells when Themis is disrupted.Jian Tang Xian Jia Jian Li Junchen Dong Jiayu Wang Wanyun Li Yuzhen Zhu Yanyan Hu Bowen Hou Chunjie Lin Yu Cong Tong Ren Changsheng Yan Hongying Yang Qian Lai Haiping Zheng Yuzhou Bao Namrata Gautam Hong-Rui Wang Bing Xu Xiao Lei Chen Qing Li Nicholas R.J.Gascoigne Guo Fu 2023Cellular & Molecular Immunology2023,20,5:0
9珠三角秋季硝酸盐气溶胶致霾污染的区域性特征显示文摘为研究珠三角地区大气霾污染特征和形成机制,于2014年秋季在区域内三个典型观测站同步开展了细颗粒物外场观测。结果表明,三个站点大气细颗粒物及其化学组分质量浓度的时间变化趋势高度一致,呈现出区域性特征。结合气象因素分析,发现珠三角区域霾污染的形成受到中尺度的静态天气形势的影响。随着霾污染过程的发展,细颗粒物中硝酸盐的比例显著增加,移动源的贡献较大。结合后向气流轨迹和卫星火点分布,证实区域内的生物质燃烧会加剧大气霾污染的强度。为进一步改善珠三角的空气质量,建议在区域尺度上实施联防联控的减排方案。GUO Junchen ZHOU Shengzhen SUN Xi HUANG Minjuan DONG Hanying CHANG Ming FAN Qi FAN Shaojia WANG Xuemei 2020Atmospheric and Oceanic Science Letters2020,13,3:0

11Influence of MnO_(x)deposition on TiO_(2)nanotube arrays for electrooxidation显示文摘TiO_(2)has demonstrated outstanding performance in electrochemical advanced oxidation processes(EAOPs)due to its structural stability and high oxygen overpotential.However,there is still much room for improving its electrochemical activity.Herein,narrow bandgap manganese oxide(MnO_(x))was composited with TiO_(2)nanotube arrays(TiO_(2)NTAs)that in-situ oxidized on porous Ti sponge,forming the MnO_(x)-TiO_(2)NTAs anode.XANES and XPS analysis further proved that the composition of MnO_(x)is Mn2O3.Electrochemical characterizations revealed that increasing the composited concentration of MnO_(x)can improve the conductivity and reduce oxygen evolution potential so as to improve the electrochemical activity of the composited MnO_(x)-TiO_(2)NTAs anode.Meanwhile,the optimal degradation rate of benzoic acid(BA)was achieved using MnO_(x)-TiO_(2)NTAs with a MnO_(x)concentration of 0.1 mmol L^(-1),and the role of MnO_(x)was proposed based on DFT calculation.Additionally,the required electrical energy(EE/O)to destroy BA was optimized by varying the composited concentration of MnO_(x)and the degradation voltage.These quantitative results are of great significance for the design and application of high-performance materials for EAOPs.Kaihang Zhang Yuanzheng Zhang Su Liu Xin Tong Junfeng Niu Dong Wang Junchen Yan Zhaoyang Xiong John Crittenden 2023Green Energy & Environment2023,8,2:0
12Manipulating micro-electric field and coordination-saturated site configuration boosted activity and safety of frustrated single-atom Cu/O Lewis pair for acetylene hydrochlorination显示文摘Simultaneously boosting acetylene hydrochlorination activity and avoiding formation of explosive copper acetylide over Cu-based catalyst,which represented a promising alternative to Hg-based and noble metal catalysts,remained challenging.Herein,we fabricated a frustrated single-atom Cu/O Lewis pair catalyst(Cu/O-FLP)by coupling epoxide group(C-O-C)with atomdispersed Cu-cis-N_(2)C_(2)Cl center to address this challenge.The basic epoxy site modulated the electron-deficient state of Lewisacidic Cu center and paired with the Cu-cis-N_(2)C_(2)Cl moiety to preferentially break HCl into different electronegative Cu-Clδ-and C-O-H^(δ+)intermediates,which further induced both an extra localized electric field to polarize acetylene and a upshift of the dband center of catalyst,thereby promoting adsorption and enrichment of acetylene by enhancing the dipolar interaction between acetylene and active intermediates.Moreover,the generated Cu-Clδ-and C-O-H^(δ+)drastically reduced the energy barrier of ratelimiting step and made vinyl chloride easier to desorb from the Lewis-basic oxygen-atom site rather than traditional Lewis-acidic Cu center.These superiorities ensured a higher activity of Cu/O-FLP compared with its counterparts.Meanwhile,preferential dissociation of HCl endowed single-atom Cu with the coordination-saturated configuration,which impeded formation of explosive copper acetylide by avoiding the direct interaction between Cu and acetylene,ensuring the intrinsic safety during catalysis.Junchen Peng Dandan Dong Zongyuan Wang Hong Yang Dongyang Qiao Qinqin Wang Wei Sun Minmin Liu Jiajun Wang Mingyuan Zhu Bin Dai Fei He Chaofeng Huang 2023Nano Research2023,16,7:0
13Two‑Level Biomimetic Designs Enable Intelligent Stress Dispersion for Super‑Foldable C/NiS Nanofiber Free‑Standing Electrode显示文摘Due to the lack of in-depth understanding about the folding issues of the electronic materials,it is a huge challenge to pre-pare a super-foldable and highly electrochemical faradic electrode.Here,inspired from from the fully nimble structures of cuit cocoons and cockscomb petals,with two-level biomimetic design,for the first time we prepared a super-foldable and electrochemically functional freestanding cathode,made of C-fiber@NiS-cockscomb(SFCNi).In virtue of its nimble biomi-metic structures,SFCNi can remarkably sustain over 100,000 times,repeated true-folding without composite fibers fracture,functional matters detachment,conductivity degradation,or electrochemical performance change.The main mechanism behind these behaviors was disclosed by Real-time scanning electron microscopy and mechanical simulations,on the folding process.Results unveil that the cockscomb-like NiS with atomic thickness can deform freely due to the need of bending,and the cuit-cocoon-like SFCNi can generate an“ε-shape”folding structure at the crease.Such a smart self-adaptive deforma-tion capability can effectively reduce the effect of stresses and local excessive deformations,so that the chemical bonds can preserve their interaction,and the material won’t fracture.This subtle and exceptional mechanical behavior realizes a super-foldable property.The two-level biomimetic design strategy is a novel method for fabrication of super-foldable composite electrodes and integrated multi-functional super-foldable devices.Guangtao Zan Tong Wu Wenya Dong Junchen Zhou Teng Tu Ruoxuan Xu Yun Chen Ying Wang Qingsheng Wu 2022Advanced Fiber Materials2022,4,5:0
