1Effect of Long-Term Rice Straw Return on Soil Glomalin, Carbon and Nitrogen显示文摘A long-term experiment was conducted to investigate how long-term fertilization and rice straw incorporation into soil affect soil glomalin, C and N. The combined application of chemical fertilizer and straw resulted in a significant increase in both soil easily extractable glomalin (EEG) and total glomalin (TG) concentrations, as compared with application of only chemical fertilizer or no fertilizer application. The EEG and TG concentrations of the NPKS (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizer application + rice straw return) plot were 4.68% and 5.67% higher than those of the CK (unfertilized control) plot, and 9.87% and 6.23% higher than those of the NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizer applied annually) plot, respectively. Application of only chemical fertilizer did not cause a statistically significant change of soil glomalin compared with no fertilizer application. The changes of soil organic C (SOC) and total N (TN) contents demonstrated a similar trend to soil glomalin in these plots. The SOC and TN contents of NPKS plot were 15.01% and 9.18% higher than those of the CK plot, and 8.85% and 14.76% higher than those of the NPK plot, respectively. Rice straw return also enhanced the contents of microbial biomass C (MBC) and microbial biomass N (MBN) in the NPKS plot by 7.76% for MBC and 31.42% for MBN compared with the CK plot, and 12.66% for MBC and 15.07% for MBN compared with the NPK plots, respectively. 2Effects of Long-Term Winter Planted Green Manure on Physical Properties of Reddish Paddy Soil Under a Double-Rice Cropping System显示文摘Soil physical properties are important indicators of the potential for agricultural production.Our objective was to evaluate the effects of long-term inputs of green manures on physical properties of a reddish paddy soil(Fe-Typic Hapli-Stagnic Anthrosols) under a double cropping system.The common cropping pattern before the study was early-late rice-fallow(winter).The field treatments included rice-rice-fallow(R-R-WF),rice-rice-rape(R-R-RP),rice-rice-Chinese milk vetch(RR-MV),and rice-rice-ryegrass(R-R-RG).The rape,Chinese milk vetch and ryegrass were all incorporated as green manures 15 d before early rice transplanting during the following year.The soil bulk density in all green manure treatments was significantly reduced compared with the winter fallow treatment.Soil porosity with green manure applications was significantly higher than that under the winter fallow.The green manure treatments had higher 0.25-5 mm water stable aggregates and aggregates stabilities in the plow layer(0-15 cm depth) compared with the fallow treatment.The mean weight diameter(MWD) and normalized mean weight diameter(NMWD) of aggregates in the green manure treatment were larger than that with the winter fallow.Soil given green manure retained both a higher water holding capacity in the plow layer soil,and a larger volume of moisture at all matric potentials(-10,-33 and-100 kPa).We conclude that the management of double-rice fields in southern central China should be encouraged to use green manures along with chemical fertilizers to increase SOC content,improve soil physical properties and soil fertility.YANG Zeng-ping XU Ming-gang ZHENG Sheng-xian NIE Jun GAO Ju-sheng LIAO Yu-lin XIE Jian 2012Journal of Integrative Agriculture2012,11,4:40
3Effects of Long-Term Winter Planted Green Manure on Distribution and Storage of Organic Carbon and Nitrogen in Water-Stable Aggregates of Reddish Paddy Soil Under a Double-Rice Cropping System显示文摘In agricultural systems, maintenance of soil organic matter has long been recognized as a strategy to reduce soil degradation. Manure amendments and green manures are management practices that can increase some nutrient contents and improve soil aggregation. We investigated the effects of 28 yr of winter planted green manure on soil aggregate-size distribution and aggregateassociated carbon(C) and nitrogen(N). The study was a randomized completed block design with three replicates. The treatments included rice-rice-fallow, rice-rice-rape, rice-rice-Chinese milk vetch and rice-rice-ryegrass. The experiment was established in 1982 on a silty light clayey paddy soil derived from Quaternary red clay(classified as Fe-Accumuli-Stagnic Anthrosols) with continuous early and late rice. In 2009, soil samples were collected(0-15 cm depth) from the field treatment plots and separated into water-stable aggregates of different sizes(i.e., >5, 2-5, 1-2, 0.5-1, 0.25-0.5 and <0.25 mm) by wet sieving. The long-term winter planted green manure significantly increased total C and N, and the formation of the 2-5-mm water-stable aggregate fraction. Compared with rice-rice-rape, rice-rice-Chinese milk vetch and rice-rice-ryegrass, the rice-rice-fallow significantly reduced 2-5-mm water-stable aggregates, with a significant redistribution of aggregates into micro-aggregates. Long-term winter planted green manure obviously improved C/N ratio and macro-aggregate-associated C and N. 4Photo-curing 3D printing technique and its challenges显示文摘In recent ten years,3D printing technology has been developed rapidly.As an advanced technology,3D printing has been used to fabricate complex and high-precision objects in many fields.3D printing has several technologies.Among these technologies,photo-curing 3D printing was the earliest and most mature technology.In 1988,the first 3D printing machine which was based on photo-curing and called Stereo lithography Appearance(SLA)technology was produced by 3D system Corp.After 30 years of development,many new technologies based on photocuring mechanism emerged.Based on the different principle of pattern formation and character of printing technology,numerous photocuring 3D printing techniques,such as SLA,DLP,LCD,CLIP,MJP,twophoton 3D printing,holographic 3D printing and so on,have been developed.Photo-curing 3D printing has many advantages,such as high precision,smooth surface of printing objects,rapid printing speed and so on.Here,we would introduce five industrial photocuring 3D printing technologies,which are SLA,DLP,LCD,CLIP and MJP.The characters of the materials and the progress of the application of the technique in the biomedical field is also overviewed.At last,the difficulties and challenges of photo-curing 3D printing are also discussed.Haoyuan Quan Ting Zhang Hang Xu Shen Luo Jun Nie Xiaoqun Zhu 2020Bioactive Materials2020,5,1:33
5Long-Term Effect of Fertilizer and Rice Straw on Mineral Composition and Potassium Adsorption in a Reddish Paddy Soil显示文摘Increasing K+ adsorption can be an effective alternative in building an available K pool in soils to optimize crop recovery and minimize losses into the environment. We hypothesized that long-term fertilization might change K+ adsorption because of changes in the chemical and mineralogical properties of a rice (Oryza sativa L.). The aims of this study were (i) to determine clay minerals in paddy soil clay size fractions using X-ray diffraction methods and a numerical diagram-decomposition method; (ii) to measure K+ adsorption isotherms before and after H 2 O 2 oxidation of organic matter, and (iii) to investigate whether K+ adsorption is correlated with changes in soil chemical and mineral properties. The 30-yr long-term fertilization treatments caused little change in soil organic C (SOC) but a large variation in soil mineral composition. The whole-clay fraction (<5 μm) corresponded more to the fertilization treatment than the fine-clay fraction (<1 μm) in terms of percentage of illite peak area. The total percentage of vermiculite-chlorite peak area was significantly negatively correlated with the total percentage of illite peak area in the <5 μm soil particles (R=-0.946, P<0.0006). Different fertilization treatments gave significantly different results in K+ adsorption. The SOC oxidation test showed positive effects of SOC on K+ adsorption at lower K+ concentration ( 120 mg L-1) and negative effects at higher K+ concentration (240 mg L-1). The K+ adsorption by soil clay minerals after SOC oxidization accounted for 60-158% of that by unoxidized soils, suggesting a more important role of soil minerals than SOC on K+ adsorption. The K+ adsorption potential was significantly correlated to the amount of poorly crystallized illite present (R=0.879, P=0.012). 7Fast track clinical pathway implications in esophagogastrectomy显示文摘AIM:To investigate the feasibility of fast track clinical pathway for esophageal tumor resections. METHODS:One hundred and fourteen patients with esophageal carcinoma who underwent esophagogastrectomy from January 2006 to October 2007 in our department were studied.Fast track clinical pathway included analgesia control,fluid infusion volume control,early ambulation and enteral nutrition. Nasogastric tube was removed 3 d after operation and chest tube was removed 4 d after operation as a routine,and full liquid diet 5 d after operation. RESULTS:Among 114 patients(84 men and 30 women),26 patients underwent fast track surgery,including 17 patients over 65 years old and 9 under 65(P=0.014);18 patients who had preoperative complications could not bear fast track surgery(P< 0.001).No significant differences in tolerance of fast track surgery were attributed to differences in gender,differentiated degree or stage of tumor,pathological type of tumor,or operative incision.The median length of hospital stay was 7 d(5-28 d),4%patients were readmitted to hospital within 30 d of discharge.Three patients died and postoperative mortality was 2.6%. All 3 patients had no determinacy to fast track surgery approach.CONCLUSION:The majority of patients with esophageal carcinoma can tolerate fast track surgery. 8Association between Vitamin D Insufficiency and the Risk for Gestational Diabetes Mellitus in Pregnant Chinese Women显示文摘Objective To investigate the association between vitamin D deficiency and risk of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM) in pregnant Chinese women.Methods A nested case-control study was conducted.Clinical and biochemical data were analyzed for 200 subjects with GDM and 200 subjects with normal glucose tolerance(NGT).Results The median(interquartile range) serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D(25OHD) levels were 22.39(17.67,29.38) and 25.86(19.09,34.88) nmol/L in the GDM and NGT groups,respectively.Rates of 25OHD deficiency or insufficiency were significantly higher in the GDM group than in the NGT group.Subjects with 25OHD levels <25 nmol/L had a 1.8-fold higher risk of GDM compared with subjects with higher vitamin D levels.In the GDM group,serum 25OHD was independently associated with HbA1c and insulin resistance after adjusting for confounding factors.In the NGT group,serum 25OHD was independently associated with fasting plasma glucose and systolic blood pressure after adjusting for maternal age and other confounding factors.Conclusion 25OHD insufficiency is very common in Chinese women.Low 25OHD status may be associated with insulin resistance and act as a risk factor for GDM.WANG Ou NIE Min HU Ying Ying ZHANG Kui LI Wei PING Fan LIU Jun Tao CHEN Li Meng XING Xiao Ping 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,4:21

14Molecular Typing of Leptospira interrogans Strains Isolated from Rattus tanezumi in Guizhou Province,Southwest of China显示文摘Objective To identify and type three leptospires isolated from Rattus tanezumi in Guizhou Province by using three molecular techniques (PFGE, MLVA, and MLST), reveal the molecular characteristic of causative agents of local leptospirosis and evaluate these three molecular methods based on their detection resolution and efficiency. Methods Three Leptospira strains were isolated from the kidney of Rattus tanezumi and cultured with EMJH medium. PFGE, MLVA, and MLST assays were applied to type the three strains isolated from Rattus tanezumi in Guizhou Province. Results PFGE, MLVA, and MLST typing showed that the three leptospiral isolates matched with leptospiral serogroup Icterohaemorrhagiae serovar Lai. The findings of the genotyping methods were consistent. MLVA and MLST defined genotypes, whereas PFGE allowed the recognition of additional subgroups within the genotypes, and the findings of molecular typing were also consistent with those of traditional techniques. 15Effects of Film-Degraded Rice Controlled Release Fertilizer on the Nitrogen Uptake and Yield of the Hybrid Rice显示文摘Field experiment was carried out to nitrogen release characteristics of rice controlled release fertilizer (RCRF) coated with natural and half natural high molecular materials, and to thereof effects on the nitrogen uptake and yield of early and late hybrid rice from 1999 to 2000, with urea as control.In experimental fields regardless of early and late seasons, the amount of N in the plants increased exponentially at the early growth stage (y=abx) and nonlinearly at the middle and late growth stages (y=a+bx+cx2).Rice controlled release fertilizer lengthened the exponential phase and increased the parameter -b/c during the nonlinear phase. Although the N amount of plants was less in rice controlled release fertilizer plots than in urea plots within 20 days after transplanting, at the heading and maturity stages, the N amount of plants in rice controlled release fertilizer plots was above two times greater than in the urea plots due to the higher N recovery, and the high absorption density of N in the nonlinear phase. Tillers pattern and achievement of the maximum tillering stage varied with fertilizer types. The maximum tillering stage in the urea plots occurred a week earlier than in the rice controlled release fertilizer plots. Yield sink size and potential sink size of the plants reflected the N absorption pattern and the amount of N in the plants. 16Substitution of chemical fertilizer by Chinese milk vetch improves the sustainability of yield and accumulation of soil organic carbon in a double-rice cropping system显示文摘The double-rice cropping system is a very important intensive cropping system for food security in China. There have been few studies of the sustainability of yield and accumulation of soil organic carbon (SOC) in the double-rice cropping system following a partial substitution of chemical fertilizer by Chinese milk vetch (Mv). We conducted a 10-year (2008–2017) field experiment in Nan County, South-Central China, to examine the double-rice productivity and SOC accumulation in a paddy soil in response to different fertilization levels and Mv application (22.5 Mg ha^–1). Fertilizer and Mv were applied both individually and in combination (sole chemical fertilizers, Mv plus 100, 80, 60, 40, and 0% of the recommended dose of chemical fertilizers, labeled as F100, MF100, MF80, MF60, MF40, and MF0, respectively). It was found that the grain yields of double-rice crop in treatments receiving Mv were reduced when the dose of chemical fertilizer was reduced, while the change in SOC stock displayed a double peak curve. The MF100 produced the highest double-rice yield and SOC stock, with the value higher by 13.5 and 26.8% than that in the F100. However, the grain yields increased in the MF80 (by 8.4% compared to the F100), while the SOC stock only increased by 8.4%. Analogous to the change of grain yield, the sustainable yield index (SYI) of double rice were improved significantly in the MF100 and MF80 compared to the F100, while there was a slight increase in the MF60 and MF40. After a certain amount of Mv input (22.5 Mg ha^–1), the carbon sequestration rate was affected by the nutrient input due to the stimulation of microbial biomass. Compared with the MF0, the MF100 and MF40 resulted in a dramatically higher carbon sequestration rate (with the value higher by 71.6 and 70.1%), whereas the MF80 induced a lower carbon sequestration rate with the value lower by 70.1% compared to the MF0. 17Establishment of intestinal organoid cultures modeling injury-associated epithelial regeneration显示文摘The capacity of 3D organoids to mimic physiological tissue organization and functionality has provided an invaluable tool to model development and disease in vitro.However,conventional organoid cultures primarily represent the homeostasis of self-organizing stem cells and their derivatives.Here,we established a novel intestinal organoid culture system composed of 8 components,mainly including VPA,EPZ6438,LDN193189,and R-Spondin 1 conditioned medium,which mimics the gut epithelium regeneration that produces hyperplastic crypts following injury;therefore,these organoids were designated hyperplastic intestinal organoids(Hyper-organoids).Single-cell RNA sequencing identified different regenerative stem cell populations in our Hyper-organoids that shared molecular features with in vivo injury-responsive Lgr5+stem cells or Clu+revival stem cells.Further analysis revealed that VPA and EPZ6438 were indispensable for epigenome reprogramming and regeneration in Hyper-organoids,which functioned through epigenetically regulating YAP signaling.Furthermore,VPA and EPZ6438 synergistically promoted regenerative response in gut upon damage in vivo.In summary,our results demonstrated a new in vitro organoid model to study epithelial regeneration,highlighting the importance of epigenetic reprogramming that pioneers tissue repair.Molong Qu Liang Xiong Yulin Lyu Xiannian Zhang Jie Shen Jingyang Guan Peiyuan Chai Zhongqing Lin Boyao Nie Cheng Li Jun Xu Hongkui Deng 2021Cell Research2021,31,3:9
18Biocompatible and biodegradable nanoparticles for enhancement of anti-cancer activities of phytochemicals显示文摘Many phytochemicals show promise in cancer prevention and treatment, but their low aqueous solubility, poor stability, unfavorable bioavailability, and low target specificity make administering them at therapeutic doses unrealistic. This is particularly true for(-)-epigallocatechin gallate, curcumin, quercetin, resveratrol, and genistein. There is an increasing interest in developing novel delivery strategies for these natural products. Liposomes, micelles, nanoemulsions, solid lipid nanoparticles, nanostructured lipid carriers and poly(lactide-co-glycolide) nanoparticles are biocompatible and biodegradable nanoparticles. Those nanoparticles can increase the stability and solubility of phytochemicals, exhibit a sustained release property, enhance their absorption and bioavailability, protect them from premature enzymatic degradation or metabolism, prolong their circulation time, improve their target specificity to cancer cells or tumors via passive or targeted delivery, lower toxicity or side-effects to normal cells or tissues through preventing them from prematurely interacting with the biological environment, and enhance anti-cancer activities. 20Research on KOH/La-Ba-Al_2O_3 catalysts for biodiesel production via transesterification from microalgae oil显示文摘Alumina supports modified by lanthanum(La)and barium(Ba)were prepared by peptization.Catalysts with different KOH contents supported on modified alumina were prepared by impregnation method.Various techniques,including N2 adsorption-desorption(Brunauer-Emmet-Teller method,BET),X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and fourier transform infrared absorption spectroscopy(FT-IR).
