1Effectiveness of ozonated saline in the treatment of VX2 tumors in rabbits显示文摘Objective To investigate the efficacy, safety, and associated mechanisms of injected ozonated saline in the treatment of VX2 tumors. Methods A total of 90 rabbits bearing VX2 tumors on their left hind legs were randomly divided into three groups. The control group(A) received normal saline, while groups B and C received 20 μg/mL and 40 μg/mL O_3/O_2 ozonated saline, respectively. Rabbits were anesthetized and 2 mL of blood was drawn directly from the heart to measure serum concentrations of interleukin(IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor(TNF-α). The skin covering the VX2 tumor was cut in each rabbit and the maximum and vertical diameters of the tumors were measured under direct visualization. Several milliliters of saline, saline pre-treated with 20 μg/mL O_3/O_2, or saline pre-treated with 40 μg/mL O_3/O_2 were directly injected into the tumors of groups A, B, and C, respectively(injection volume(milliliter) =1/2 volume of the tumor, V = 1/2ab^2). On days 4, 8 and 12 following treatment, 10 rabbits were randomly selected from each group for blood sample collection, and serum IL-6 and TNF-α were measured. The tumor growth rate was calculated by measuring the maximum and vertical diameters of the VX2 tumors under direct visualization. All selected rabbits were euthanized and the tumors, livers, and lungs were removed for pathological examination. The tumor necrosis rate was calculated by cutting the tumors into half along the longitudinal axis and measuring the maximum diameters of the intratumoral necrotic regions. Results The average tumor volume in the three groups increased to different degrees at each time point; however, the average tumor growth rates in groups B and C were substantially lower than that in group A, exhibiting a statistically significant difference. The difference in the tumor growth rate between group B and group C was not statistically significant. The serum concentrations of IL-6 and TNF-α increased in the three groups at each time point, with larger increases occurring in groups B and C; however, the greater increases did not reach statistical significance. Although the diameters of the necrotic areas were larger in both groups B and C than that in group A, significant differences in necrotic area diameters were only found when comparing groups A and C on days 4 and 12 following treatment. Conclusion Direct injection of different concentrations of ozonated saline into VX2 tumors significantly increased intratumoral necrosis and reduced the tumor growth rate. 2Analysis on the Effects of Morphological Traits of Lutraria sieboldii on Its Body Mass Trait显示文摘[Objectives]This study was conducted to explore the relationship between morphological traits and body mass trait of Lutraria sieboldii.[Methods]110 were randomly selected from 120 2^(nd)-instar L.sieboldii collected from the Tieshangang area of Beihai,Guangxi,and 132 were randomly selected from 150 shellfish at the instar of 0.6.Their morphological traits were measured:shell length(SL),shell height(SH),shell width(SW),anterior length(AL),posterior length(PL),nose length(NL)in closed shell state,and maximum open shell width(OS)between two shells in closed shell state,and the body mass trait BM was also measured.Statistical methods such as path analysis and multiple regression were used for data analysis,and the effects of these seven morphological traits on the body mass trait were studied,respectively.The correlation between the tested seven quantitative traits and one body mass trait was all positive,all reaching an extremely significant level(P<0.01).[Results]The body mass trait of the shellfish at the instar of 2 had the highest correlation coefficient with shell length(0.922),that is,shell length had the greatest direct impact on the body mass trait;the path coefficient was 0.700;and the final multiple regression equation established was BM=-124.882+1.189 SL+1.551 SH+1.035 SW+0.119 NL,and the total determination coefficient(R^(2))on body mass was 0.849.The body mass trait of the shellfish at the instar of 0.6 had the highest correlation coefficient with shell length(0.859),that is,shell length had the greatest direct impact on the body mass trait;the path coefficient was 0.494;and the final multiple regression equation established was BM=-1.917+0.111 SL+0.021 NL+0.078 SW+0.032 OS,and the total determination coefficient(R~2)on body mass was 0.828.The multivariate regression variance analysis showed that the regression between the morphological traits and body mass trait of the L.sieboldii at the instars of 2 and 0.6 reached an extremely significant level(P<0.01).[Conclusions]This study provides a scientific basis for the selection of broodstock in the selection and breeding of L.sieboldii.Dan GUO Jian CHEN Ziqin ZHAI Tongtong REN Jijin WANG Lirong BAI Dahui YU 2021Agricultural Biotechnology2021,10,4:2

17Histone deacetylase OsHDA706 increases salt tolerance via H4K5/K8 deacetylation of OsPP2C49 in rice显示文摘High salt is a major environmental factor that threatens plant growth and development.Increasing evidence indicates that histone acetylation is involved in plant responses to various abiotic stress;however,the underlying epigenetic regulatory mechanisms remain poorly understood.In this study,we revealed that the histone deacetylase OsHDA706 epigenetically regulates the expression of salt stress response genes in rice(Oryza sativa L.).OsHDA706 localizes to the nucleus and cytoplasm and OsHDA706 expression is significantly induced under salt stress.Moreover,oshda706 mutants showed a higher sensitivity to salt stress than the wild-type.In vivo and in vitro enzymatic activity assays demonstrated that OsHDA706 specifically regulates the deacetylation of lysines 5 and 8 on histone H4(H4K5and H4K8).By combining chromatin immunoprecipitation and mRNA sequencing,we identified the clade A protein phosphatase 2C gene,OsPP2C49,which is involved in the salt response as a direct target of H4K5 and H4K8 acetylation.We found that the expression of OsPP2C49 is induced in the oshda706 mutant under salt stress.Furthermore,the knockout of OsPP2C49 enhances plant tolerance to salt stress,while its overexpression has the opposite effect.Taken together,our results indicate that OsHDA706,a histone H4 deacetylase,participates in the salt stress response by regulating the expression of OsPP2C49 via H4K5 and H4K8 deacetylation.Kai Liu Jijin Chen Shang Sun Xu Chen Xinru Zhao Yingying Hu Guoxiao Qi Xiya Li Bo Xu Jun Miao Chao Xue Yong Zhou Zhiyun Gong 2023Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,6:0
18Quantum digital spiral imaging显示文摘We demonstrate that the combination of digital spiral imaging with high-dimensional orbital angular momentum(OAM)entanglement can be used for efficiently probing and identifying pure phase objects,where the probing light does not necessarily touch the object,via the experimental,non-local decomposition of non-integer pure phase vortices in OAM-entangled photon pairs.The entangled photons are generated by parametric downconversion and then measured with spatial light modulators and single-mode fibers.The fractional phase vortices are defined in the idler photons,while their corresponding spiral spectra are obtained non-locally by scanning the measured OAM states in the signal photons.We conceptually illustrate our results with the biphoton Klyshko picture and the effective dimensionality to demonstrate the high-dimensional nature of the associated quantum OAM channels.Our result is a proof of concept that quantum imaging techniques exploiting high-dimensional entanglement can potentially be used for remote sensing.Lixiang Chen Jijin Lei Jacquiline Romero 2014Light(Science & Applications)2014,3,1:0
19Ductility Anisotropy Induced by Ferrite in Direct Laser Deposited 17-4 PH Steel: Combined Microstructure and Dislocation Density Simulation显示文摘The anisotropic ductility of a direct laser deposited 17-4 PH cubic part was investigated.Anisotropic elongations in the specimens from varied surfaces of the part were obtained:~6.2%,~1.5%,and~4.5%in XY,YZ,and XZ samples,respectively.Furthermore,various orientations of ferrite were found in different specimens,taking the loading direction as reference.A finite element analysis depending on actual microstructures and dislocation density revealed that the orientation of ferrite caused the ductility anisotropy.The orientation of ferrite affected its plastic deformability and the deformation compatibility between phases during the uniaxial loading.The ferrite parallel to the tensile direction in the YZ sample had the worst deformability and induced severe strain localization and stress triaxiality,which resulted in inferior ductility.The ferrite perpendicular to the tensile direction showed the best deformability,whereas strain localization remained intense in the XZ sample owing to the unmatched deformability of martensite.The inclined ferrite in the XY sample exhibited moderate deformability and was found to enhance the plastic flow of martensite,leading to the best deformation compatibility and ductility.Chuanfeng Wu Junmei Chen Zhiyuan Yu Hao Lu Chun Yu Jijin Xu 2021Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2021,34,6:0
