1Tectonic Taphrogenesis and Paleoseismic Records from the Yishu Fault Zone in the Initial Stage of the Caledonian Movement显示文摘The Yishu fault zone (mid-segment of the Tanlu fault zone) was formed in the Presinian. Periodic tectonic activities and strong seismic events have occurred along the fault zone. During the initial stage of the Caledonian Movement, with the proceeding of the marine transgression from the Yishu paleo-channel to the western Shandong, uneven thick sediments, composed mainly of sand, mud and carbonates of littoral, lagoon, and neritic facies, were deposited in the Yishu fault zone and western Shandong, and constructed the bottom part of the Lower Cambrian consisting of the Liguan and Zhushadong formations. Through field observations and the lab-examinations, various paleoseismic records have been discovered in the Liguan Formation and the Zhushadong Formations of the Yishu fault zone and its vicinity, including some layers with syn-sedimentary deformation structures that were triggered by strong earthquakes (i.e. seismite, seismo-olistostrome, and seismo-turbidite). Paleoseismic records developed in the Zhushadong Formation are mainly seismites with soft-sediment deformation structures, such as liquefied diapir, small liquefied-carbonate lime-mud volcano, liquefied vein, liquefied breccia, convolute deformation (seismic fold), graded fault, soft siliceous vein, and deformation stromatolite, as well as seismites with brittle deformation structures of semiconsolidated sediments. Paleoseismic records preserved in the Liguan Formation are not only seismo-olistostrome with a slump fold, load structure, and ball-and-pillows, but also seismo-turbidite with convolution bedding, graded bedding and wavy-bedding. However, in the western Shandong area, the closer to the Yishu fault zone, the greater the thickness of the Liguan Formation and the Zhushadong Formation, the greater the number and type of layers with paleoseismic records, and the higher the earthquake intensity reflected by associations of seismic records. 2Expression of MRP14 gene is frequently down-regulated in Chinese human esophageal cancer显示文摘Migration inhibitory factor-related protein 14 (MRP 14) is one of calcium-binding proteins,referred as S 100A9. The heterodimeric molecule formed by MRP 14 with its partner MRP8 (S 100A8) is the major fatty acid carrier in neutrophils.The MRP8/14 complex has been also implicated in the intracellular transport of arachidonic acid and its precursors in keratinocytes. We show here the involvement of MRP14 in human esophageal cancer. In an initial study,mRNA differential display - reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (DD-PCR) was performed with two esophageal carcinomas,one esophageal adenocarcinoma and matched normal adjacent mucosa. DD-PCR with the arbitrary primer OPA3 showed that one cDNA band was highly expressed in normal tissues,but disappeared or substantially decreased in tumor counterparts. It was later identified to be the 3'-end of migration inhibitory factor-related protein 14 (MRP14).Northern blotting,RT-PCR and Western blotting corroborated the down-regulation of MRP14 in 58/64 squamous cell carcinomas and 2/2 adenocarcinomas as compared with adjacent normal epithelia of the esophagus. MRP14 was undetectable in 3/3 esophageal-carcinoma cell lines. Immunochemistry demonstrated that expression of MRP14 was restricted to normal esophageal epithelia. No mutation was found in the genomic DNA of the MRP14 gene by PCR and directed DNA sequencing. 3Expression of growth hormone receptor and its mRNA in hepatic cirrhosis显示文摘AIM: To investigate the expression of growth hormone receptor (GHR) and mRNA of GHR in cirrhotic livers of rats with the intension to find the basis for application of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) to patients with liver cirrhosis.METHODS: Hepatic cirrhosis was induced in SpragueDawley rats by administration of thioacetamide intraperitoneally for 9-12 weeks. Collagenase Ⅳ was perfused in situ for isolation of hepatocytes. The expression of GHR and its mRNA in cirrhotic livers was studied with radio-ligand binding assay, RT-PCR and digital image analysis.RESULTS: One class of specific growth hormone-binding site, GHR, was detected in hepatocytes and hepatic tissue of cirrhotic livers. The binding capacity of GHR (RT, fmol/mg protein) in rat cirrhotic liver tissue (30.8±1.9) was significantly lower than that in normal control (74.9±3.9) at the time point of the ninth week after initiation of induction of cirrhosis (n=10, P<0.05), and it decreased gradually along with the accumulation of collagen in the process of formation and development of liver cirrhosis (P<0.05). The number of binding sites (×10 4/cell) of GHR on rat cirrhotic hepatocytes (0.86±0.16) was significantly lower than that (1.28±0.24)in control (n= 10, P<0.05). The binding affinity of GHR among liver tissue, hepatocytes of various groups had no significant difference (P>0.05). The expression of GHR mRNA (riOD,pixel) in rat cirrhotic hepatic tissues (23.3±3.1) was also significantly lower than that (29.3±3.4) in normal control (n=10, P<0.05).CONCLUSION: The growth hormone receptor was expressed in a reduced level in liver tissue of cirrhotic rats,and lesser expression of growth hormone receptors was found in a later stage of cirrhosis. 4Possible stem cell origin of human cholangiocarcinoma显示文摘AIM: To investigate the expression of CD34 and c-kit (receptor of stem cell factor) in cholangiocarcinoma. METHODS: Fifteen cases of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and 17 cases of ext^ahepatic cholangiocarcinoma were studied in this experiment. Using Envision detection system, paraffin-embedded sections of the resected cholangiocarcinoma tissue were stained with antibodies against CD34 and c-kit, respectively. The sections were counterstained with hematoxylin, and the results were examined under light microscope. Normal tonsil and mammary tissues were used as positive controls for CD34 and c-kit, respectively. RESULTS: CD34 was positive in all sections, but only in capillary endothelial cells of tumor tissue. No cholangiocarcinoma cells were positive for CD34. In one case of extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, a few tumor cells (about 5%) were immunoreactive with c-kit. CONCLUSION: CD34 or c-kit positive cells in liver tissue may represent liver stem cells, as they can differentiate into mature biliary cells in vitro. The expression of c-kit by some cholangiocarcinoma cells suggests that cholangiocarcinoma might originate from liver stem cells. 5Submillimeter/millimeter observations of the molecular clouds associated with Tycho's supernova remnant显示文摘We have carried out CO J = 2-1 and CO J = 3-2 observations toward Tycho's supernova remnant(SNR) using the KOSMA 3m-telescope.From these observations,we identified three molecular clouds(MCs) around the SNR.The small cloud in the southwest was discovered for the first time.In the north and east,two MCs(Cloud A and Cloud B) adjacent in space display a bow-shaped morphology,and have broad emission lines,which provide some direct evidences of the SNR-MCs interaction.The MCs are revealed at-69--59 km s-1,coincident with Tycho's SNR.The MCs associated with Tycho's SNR have a mass of-2.13 × 103 M.Positionvelocity diagrams show the two clouds to be adjacent in velocity,which means cloudcloud collision could occur in this region.The maximum value(0.66 ± 0.10) of the integrated CO line intensity ratio(ICOJ=3-2/ICOJ=2-1) for the three MCs agrees well with the previous measurement of individual Galactic MCs,implying that the SNR shock drove into the MCs.The two MCs have a line intensity ratio gradient.The distribution of the ratio appears to indicate that the shock propagates from the southwest to the northeast.Jin—LongXu Jun—JieWang Martin Miller 2011Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2011,11,5:2
6Two new reinforcement techniques applicable in high steep slopes along the Chengdu-Lhasa Highway, Southwest China显示文摘Anti-slide pile and anchoring hole are two types of reinforcement techniques popularly used in slope reinforcement. However, some defects of these two techniques are found in slope engineering practices. Utilizing higher tensile strength of pre-stressed structures, the authors devise two new types of slope reinforcement techniques, i.e. pre-stressed anchoring beam and pre-stressed anti-slide pile, in an attempt to overcome those defects of the existing techniques. These two new techniques are characterized by gathering multiple functions, e.g. engineering investigation, reinforcement, drainage, monitoring and strength supplement, so as to achieve high reinforcement efficiency, convenient checking, and higher ratio of function to cost. 10Waterproof of rock joint with lead strip for splitting tuff sheet in ancient China quarrying caverns显示文摘This paper presents the relics of rock joints caulked with lead strips, unearthed by the authors in 2007 and 2008. The relics were in ancient quarry caverns in Shepan Island, Zhejiang Province, eastern China. The quarry activities were mainly carried out for production of regular tuff stone plates about 800 years ago. Each of the lead strips was sealed into a rock joint by punching manually and carefully. At present, the lead strips still contact tightly with the rock joints and new mineral cerussite is found to have formed at the contact surfaces between the lead strip and its caulked rock joint. The use of lead strips caulking rock joints in quarry caverns is found for prevention of water from seeping out of the country rocks into quarry cavern bases, where all of the in-situ intact tuff rock was manually and near-horizontally split into thin rock sheets one by one for production of regular tuff plates. Furthermore, it is found that the tensile splitting of tuff sheets at the cavern base required the intact rocks at the cavern base had to be dry. 13Polyanhydride micelles with diverse morphologies for shape-regulated cellular internalization and blood circulation显示文摘Biodegradable amphiphilic poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG)based ether-anhydride terpolymer,consisting of PEG,1,3-bis(p-carboxyphenoxy)propane(CPP)and sebacic acid(SA),namely PEG-CPP-SA terpolymer,was employed to self-assemble into micelles by adding water into a solution of the terpolymer in tetrahydrofuran(THF).The shape of polyanhydride micelles can be regulated by simply adjusting the water addition rate,where spherical,rod-like and comb-like micelles can obtained under water addition rate of 20,3 and 1 ml/h,respectively.The effect of micellar morphologies on the cellular internalization and intracellular distribution were characterized qualitatively with cervical cancer cells(HeLa cells)and hepatoma cells(HepG2 cells)by fluorescence microscopy,confocal laser scanning microscopy(CLSM),flow cytometry(FCM)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The results reveal that the cellular uptake of micelles are micelle-shape-dependent(rod-like micelles may possess the highest cellular internalization rate)and cell-type-specific.Each endocytic pathway can make a contribution to this process in different degree.Moreover,blood circulation experiments of these micelles were carried out,demonstrating that comb-like micelles have a relatively longer blood circulating feature,which may due to its irregular shape help to increase the sensitivity to fluid forces and allows them to tumble and align with the blood flow.Guang Yang JieWang Dan Li Shaobing Zhou 2017Regenerative Biomaterials2017,4,3:1
14The Value of Interferon Combined with Hepatic Artery Chemoembolization and Portal Vein Chemotherapy in Preventing a Recurrence after Radical Resection for Hepatocellular Carcinoma显示文摘OBJECTIVE The change of cell immune function after hepatectomy of patients suffering from hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is usually neglected. The aim of this study was to explore the change of T cell subsets in HCC patients after hepatectomy, and to study the value of treatment with interferon (INF)combined with hepatic artery chemoembolization (HACE) and portal vein chemotherapy (PVC) to prevent recurrence after radical resection of HCC.METHODS Seventy-five HCC patients were treated with PVC and HACE at the 2nd week and 4th week after radical tumor resection. In the 2nd week after surgery, 33 pationts received INF treatment for one week. Seventy-two patients were followed up over three years. The effect of INF combined with HACE and PVC on the postoperative recurrence rate was compared with that of HACE and PVC treatment. Changes of T cell subsets in the peripheral blood were examined with labeled monoclonal antibodies before and after hepatectomy or with use of interferon. Forty cholecystolithiasis patients who received a cholecystectomy were used as controls.RESULTS CD3^+ and CD4^+ cells in the peripheral blood were reduced in patients with HCC. After hepatectomy, they declined further with a decrease in the CD4^+/CD8^+ ratio. The values returned to pre-operative level at the 4th week after surgery. The CD3^+ and CD4^+ cells and the CD4^+/CD8^+ ratio increased remarkably following the use of INF. The 1-, 2- and 3-year recurrent rates of patients treated with HACE, PVC and INF in combination were 0%, 6.2% and 15.6%, respectively, while those treated only with HACE and PVC were 5.0%, 12.5% and 27.5%, respectively.CONCLUSION Patients with HCC suffer from a marked immunosuppression, which become ever more severe after hepatectomy. 16A Health State Prediction Model Based on Belief Rule Base and LSTM for Complex Systems显示文摘In industrial production and engineering operations,the health state of complex systems is critical,and predicting it can ensure normal operation.Complex systems have many monitoring indicators,complex coupling structures,non-linear and time-varying characteristics,so it is a challenge to establish a reliable prediction model.The belief rule base(BRB)can fuse observed data and expert knowledge to establish a nonlinear relationship between input and output and has well modeling capabilities.Since each indicator of the complex system can reflect the health state to some extent,the BRB is built based on the causal relationship between system indicators and the health state to achieve the prediction.A health state prediction model based on BRB and long short term memory for complex systems is proposed in this paper.Firstly,the LSTMis introduced to predict the trend of the indicators in the system.Secondly,theDensityPeakClustering(DPC)algorithmis used todetermine referential values of indicators forBRB,which effectively offset the lack of expert knowledge.Then,the predicted values and expert knowledge are fused to construct BRB to predict the health state of the systems by inference.Finally,the effectiveness of the model is verified by a case study of a certain vehicle hydraulic pump.Yu Zhao Zhijie Zhou Hongdong Fan Xiaoxia Han JieWang Manlin Chen 2024Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing2024,39,1:0

18The Effect of Central Baryonic Cores in Dark Halos on the Evaluation of Strong Lensing Probabilities显示文摘We present an estimate of the strong lensing probability by dark halos, with emphasis on the role of the baryonic matter arising purely from radiative cooling. We treat the contribution of the cooled baryons optimistically with all the cooled baryons confined within a central core, and including no feedback process from stellar evolution. Our two-component model provides a strong lensing probability that is in good agreement with the observed distribution of multiple images of quasars, provided that the cooled baryons are deposited within a spherical region of radius of 0.1 times the virial radius and follow an isothermal profile.
