| 1 | Landslides Triggered by the 2020 Qiaojia M_(w)5.1 Earthquake, Yunnan, China: Distribution, Influence Factors and Tectonic Significance显示文摘On May 18, 2020, an M_(w)5.1 earthquake occurred in Qiaojia County, Yunnan Province, China. This moderate-sized event triggered massive coseismic landslides, resulting in some damage. In this work, through visual interpretation of high-resolution(0.8–2 m) Gaofen satellite images before and after the earthquake, 167 landslides were delineated, 18 of which were inspected in the field. Using the landslide number density(LND) and landslide area percentage(LAP), we characterized the spatial distribution of these landslides, and analyzed their possible influence factors and tectonic significance. The results show that these landslides are distributed mostly in the NW-SE direction, roughly parallel to the long axis of seismic intensity zones and the strike of the Xiaohe-Baogunao fault(XBF). The LND and LAP decrease with increasing distances to the fault and from the epicenter to fault ends of the XBF. These permit to suggest that the seismogenic fault of the Qiaojia earthquake is likely a hidden branch of the XBF. All of the landslides induced by this event occurred in the region with the seismic intensity of six degrees or greater of the 2014 M_(w)6.2 Ludian earthquake. Therefore, it was inferred that the 2020 Qiaojia earthquake was probably the subsequent release of accumulated elastic strain after the 2014 Ludian earthquake in a same tectonic stress regime. | Xiangli He Chong Xu Wenwen Qi Yuandong Huang Jia Cheng Xiwei Xu Qi Yao Yongkun Lu Boyang Dai | 2021 | Journal of Earth Science2021,32,5: | 2 |
| 2 | From active fault segmentation to risks of earthquake hazards and property and life losses—A case study from the Xianshuihe-Xiaojiang fault zone显示文摘Strong earthquakes generally rupture along active faults, and associated ground motion can cause earthquake disasters, property losses, and casualties from kilometers to tens of kilometers away. Therefore, one of the most effective ways to find earthquake’s dangerous parts of faults is to study the seismic hazards on fault segments. After that,we can also evaluate the probabilities of landslides hazard, property losses, and casualties. In this study, using fault slip rates and magnitude-frequency relationship as constraints,we calculated the earthquake occurrence rates for the segments along the Xianshuihe-Xiaojiang fault zone.We obtained 11 sites of single-segment or multi-segment rupturing risk.We also provided these potential events conditional probabilities in the next 30 years. For the 11 potential earthquakes,we calculated the property loss of residential buildings in the ground motion field. The most significant property loss is CNY 7.65 billion caused by the single-segment rupturing of the F19 segment on the Anninghe fault. We applied the deep learning neural network method in predicting the number of casualties for the potential earthquakes, showing that the most significant event is the multi-segment rupturing of the F29 and F30 segments on the Anninghe fault with the predicted death number of 279-317.We also evaluated the probabilities of earthquake landslides after the potential earthquakes. The results show that areas with intense compressional tectonic stress are highly unstable and prone to earthquake induced landslides, including the southern section of the Yuke fault, the southern section of the Xianshuihe fault, and the conjugated area between the southern section of the Daliangshan fault and the Lianfeng fault. These areas have a considerable number of earthquake landslides with probabilities>10%.The methodology and results will give us a new effective way of applying active fault data in earthquake hazard and risk analysis and provide a scientific path for earthquake prevention, disaster reduction, and emergency rescue preparation. | Jia CHENG Chong XU Jian MA Xiwei XU Pengyu ZHU | 2023 | Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,6: | 2 |

| 4 | Distribution and risk factor analysis for-associated diarrhea among hospitalized children over one year of age显示文摘Importance: Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea (CDAD) is a severe type of antibiotic-associated diarrhea (AAD). However, the risk factors for CDAD in children with AAD have not yet been clarified. Objective: To investigate the distribution and risk factors for CDAD among hospitalized children in Beijing Children’s Hospital. Methods: Stool samples from 197 children with AAD were tested for theC. difficile pathogenic genes (tcdA, tcdB, tcdC, tcdD, tcdE, cdtA, andcdtB) using polymerase chain reaction between January 2011 and January 2014. Children who tested positive fortcdA ortcdB were included in the CDAD group, and those remaining comprised the non-CDAD group. Results: The rate of CDAD among the 197 children with AAD was 42.6% (84/197). The age distribution was 1-15.6 years, among which the majority of children (54.8%, 46/84) were aged 1-4 years. Differences in the CDAD-positive rates among AAD children belonging to different age groups were not statistically significant. Univariate analysis revealed that the duration of antibiotic therapy, the length of hospitalization prior to diarrhea, and gastrointestinal tract operations were significant risk factors (P < 0.05). Children with CDAD underwent more antibiotic therapy and had longer periods of hospitalization prior to diarrhea onset than children in the non-CDAD group. Using multivariate regression analysis, hospitalization for ≥ 10 days prior to diarrhea was found to be an independent risk factor for CDAD.Interpretation: This study revealed that the length of hospitalization (≥ 10 days) prior to diarrhea was an independent risk factor for CDAD in children with AAD. | Chunna Zhao Shu Guo Xiaoyun Jia Xiwei Xu | 2020 | Pediatric Investigation2020,4,1: | 2 |
| 5 | Adverse Effect of Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease on the Therapeutic Response in Patients with Chronic Hepatitis B显示文摘Background and Aims:The impact of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)on the treatment outcome of chronic hepatitis B(CHB)is undefined and deserves an in-depth investigation.Methods:Histologically-proven CHB receiving first-line antiviral regimens as initial therapy was enrolled and grouped by the concurrence of NAFLD,and followed up at six monthly intervals.Therapeutic response related data were recorded and compared at multiple time points.Kaplan-Meier and Cox regression analyses were utilized to estimate the impact of NAFLD on complete virological response(CVR).Results:We enrolled 267 patients(CHB:164;CHB with NAFLD:103)with comparable follow-up durations. They were also comparable in baseline HBV DNA levels and HBeAg positivity.Patients with concomitant NAFLD showed less significant decline in HBV DNA,qHBsAg,pgRNA,and liver enzyme levels over time;moreover, their cumulative incidences of CVR were significantly lower and that of low-level viremia(LLV)were significantly higher at 6,12,18,24 months.First CVR of CHB was delayed with the presence NAFLD(11.0 vs.7.0 months,p<0.001)and further prolonged with higher grade of liver steatosis(Grade 2–3 vs.1:13.0 vs.9.0 months). On multivariate analysis,HBeAg positivity(HR:0.650,p=0.036),grade of steatosis(G2[HR:0.447,p=0.004];G3[HR:0.085,p=0.002])and HBV DNA(log10 IU/mL)(HR:0.687,p<0.001)were significantly associated with delayed CVR,whereas grade of necroinflammation(HR:1.758,p<0.001)accelerated the CVR.Conclusions:In CHB patients receiving initial antiviral therapy,NAFLD was associated with higher levels of HBV DNA,pgRNA,and liver enzymes, and higher incidence of LLV and delayed CVR. | Siyu Zhang Xiaoxiao Zhang Huiming Jin Yao Dou Lu Li Xiwei Yuan Chen Dong Mengmeng Hou Yue-min Nan Jia Shang | 2023 | Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2023,11,1: | 1 |
