| 1 | The IL-33/ST2 axis affects tumor growth by regulating mitophagy in macrophages and reprogramming their polarization显示文摘Objective:Macrophages are a major component of the tumor microenvironment.M1 macrophages secrete pro-inflammatory factors that inhibit tumor growth and development,whereas tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs)mainly exhibit an M2 phenotype.Our previous studies have shown that the interleukin-33/ST2(IL-33/ST2)axis is essential for activation of the M1 phenotype.This study investigates the role of the IL-33/ST2 axis in TAMs,its effects on tumor growth,and whether it participates in the mutual conversion between the M1 and M2 phenotypes.Methods:Bone marrow-derived macrophages were extracted from wildtype,ST2 knockout(ST2-/-),and Il33-overexpressing mice and differentiated with IL-4.The mitochondrial and lysosomal number and location,and the expression of related proteins were used to analyze mitophagy.Oxygen consumption rates and glucose and lactate levels were measured to reveal metabolic changes.Results:The IL-33/ST2 axis was demonstrated to play an important role in the metabolic conversion of macrophages from OXPHOS to glycolysis by altering mitophagy levels.The IL-33/ST2 axis promoted enhanced cell oxidative phosphorylation,thereby further increasing M2 polarization gene expression and ultimately promoting tumor growth(P<0.05)(Figure 4).This metabolic shift was not due to mitochondrial damage,because the mitochondrial membrane potential was not significantly altered by IL-4 stimulation or ST2 knockout;however,it might be associated with the m TOR activity.Conclusions:These results clarify the interaction between the IL-33/ST2 pathway and macrophage polarization,and may pave the way to the development of new cancer immunotherapies targeting the IL-33/ST2 axis. | Huadan Xu Dong Li Jiaoyan Ma Yuanxin Zhao Long Xu Rui Tian Yanan Liu Liankun Sun Jing Su | 2021 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,1: | 5 |

| 4 | Assessment of Changes in the Cesarean Scar and Uterus Between One and Two Years after Cesarean Section Using 3D T2w SPACE MRI显示文摘Objective Io evaluate changes in morphology of the cesarean scar and uterus between one and two years after cesarean section using high-resolution,three dimensional T2-weighted sampling perfection with application optimized contrast using diflerent flip angle evolutions Magnetic Resonance Imaging(3DT2w SPACE MRI).Methods This prospective study was performed to investigate morphological changes in the cesarean scars and uterus from one to two years after cesarean section using high-resolution,3D T2w SPACE MRI.The healthy volunteers having no childbearing history were recruited as the controls.All data were measured by two experienced radiologists.All data with normal distribution between the one-year and two-year groups were compared using a paired-sample t test or independent t test.Results Finally,46 women took a pelvic MR examination one year after cesarean section,and a subset of 15 completed the same examination again after two years of cesarean section.Both the uterine length and the anterior wall thickness after two years of cesarean section(5.75±0.46 and 1.45±0.35 cm)were significantly greater than those measured at one year(5.33±0.59 and 1.25±0.27 cm)(t=-2.363 and-2.175,P=0.033 and 0.048).No significant difference was shown in myometrial thickness two years after cesarean section(1.45±0.35 cm)with respect to the control group(1.58±0.21 cm,P=0.170).Nine women who underwent MRI twice were considered to have scar diverticula one year after cesarean section,and still had diverticula two years after cesarean section.The thickness,height,and width of the uterine scar showed no significant change from one to two years(all P>0.05).Conclusions 3D T2w SPACE MRI provides overall morphologic details and shows dynamic changes in the scar and the uterus between one and two years after cesarean section.Scar morphology after cesarean section reached relatively stable one year after cesarean section,and uterine morphology was closer to normal two years after cesarean section. | Yafei Qi Yonglan He Ning Ding Liangkun Ma Tianyi Qian Yuan Li Huadan Xue Zhengyu Jin | 2022 | Chinese Medical Sciences Journal2022,37,2: | 3 |

| 7 | Assessing Liver Function by T1 Maps on Gd-EOB-DTPA- Enhanced MRI for up to 50 Min in Rat Models of Liver Fibrosis: A Longer Hepatobiliary Time Period may Help显示文摘Objectives To investigate whether a longer time period of gadolinium ethoxybenzyl diethylenetriaminepen-taacetic add(Gd-EOB-DTPA)-enhanced T1 mapping scanning,as well as dynamic contrast-enhanced(DCE)and multiple hepatobiliary phase magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)have the potential to provide information about liver function in rats with liver fibrosis.Methods Forty rats were divided into the carbon tetrachloride-induced hepatic injury groups[carbon tetrachloride for four(n=14),eight(n=8),or twelve(n=8)weeks]and the control group(n=10).Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced MRI was performed including T1-mapping(delayed to 50 min),DCE,and multiple hepatobiliary phases.Indocyanine green retention rate at 15 min(ICG-R15)was determined.Parameters such as T1 reduction rate(△T1),elimination half-life of △T1(T_(△T1 1/2)),relative enhancement(RE),time to maximum RE(T_(max)),and perfusion parameters were calculated.Pearson correlation analysis was used for correlation analysis between ICG-R15 and each MRI indices.Results △T1 at 30,40,and 50 min showed significant positive correlations with ICG-R15(r=0.784,0.653,0.757,P=0.007,0.041,0.030).T_(△T1 1/2) showed a significant positive correlation with ICG-R15(r=0.685,P=0.029).showed a significant positive correlation with ICG-R15(r=0.532,P=0.019).Conclusions △T1 in the late hepatobiliary phase and T_(△T1 1/2) exhibited moderate correlations with liver function.The longer time period of Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced Tl mapping scanning,as well as DCE and multiple hepatobiliary phases,may be of some value for estimating liver function in rats with liver fibrosis. | Jia Xu Xuan Wang Zhengyu Jin Qin Wang Yan You Shitian Wang Tianyi Qian Huadan Xue | 2021 | Chinese Medical Sciences Journal2021,36,2: | 2 |

| 9 | Distance-controllable and direction-steerable opto-conveyor for targeting delivery显示文摘Opto-conveyors have attracted widespread interest in various fields because of their non-invasive and non-contact delivery of micro/nanoparticles.However,the flexible control of the delivery distance and the dynamic steering of the delivery direction,although very desirable in all-optical manipulation,have not yet been achieved by optoconveyors.Here,using a simple and cost-effective scheme of an elliptically focused laser beam obliquely irradiated on a substrate,a direction-steerable and distance-controllable opto-conveyor for the targeting delivery of microparticles is implemented.Theoretically,in the proposed scheme of the opto-conveyor,the transverse and longitudinal resultant forces of the optical gradient force and the optical scattering force result in the transverse confinement and the longitudinal transportation of microparticles,respectively.In this study,it is experimentally shown that the proposed opto-conveyor is capable of realizing the targeting delivery for microparticles.Additionally,the delivery distance of microparticles can be flexibly and precisely controlled by simply adjusting the irradiation time.By simply rotating the cylindrical lens,the proposed opto-conveyor is capable of steering the delivery direction flexibly within a large range of azimuthal angles,from-75°to 75°.This study also successfully demonstrated the real-time dynamic steering of the delivery direction from-45°to 45°with the dynamical rotation of the cylindrical lens.Owing to its simplicity,flexibility,and controllability,the proposed method is capable of creating new opportunities in bioassays as well as in drug delivery. | Zhen Che Wenguo Zhu Yaoming Huang Yu Zhang Linqing Zhuo Pengpeng Fan Zhibin Li Huadan Zheng Wenjin Long Wentao Qiu Yunhan Luo Jun Zhang Jinghua Ge Jianhui Yu Zhe Chen | 2020 | Photonics Research2020,8,7: | 1 |

The maximum shifts along directions both parallel and perpendicular to the incident plane are theoretically predicted and experimentally verified with optimal preselection and postselection states. | 14 | High-sensitivity and fast-response fiber optic temperature sensor using an anti-resonant reflecting optical waveguide mechanism显示文摘Temperature sensing is essential for human health monitoring.High-sensitivity(>1 nm∕℃)fiber sensors always require long interference paths and temperature-sensitive materials,leading to a long sensor and thus slow response(6–14 s).To date,it is still challenging for a fiber optic temperature sensor to have an ultrafast(~ms)response simultaneously with high sensitivity.Here,a side-polished single-mode/hollow/single-mode fiber(SPSHSF)structure is proposed to meet the challenge by using the length-independent sensitivity of an anti-resonant reflecting optical waveguide mechanism.With a polydimethylsiloxane filled sub-nanoliter volume cavity in the SP-SHSF,the SP-SHSF exhibits a high temperature sensitivity of 4.223 nm/℃ with a compact length of 1.6 mm,allowing an ultrafast response(16 ms)and fast recovery time(176 ms).The figure of merit(FOM),defined as the absolute ratio of sensitivity to response time,is proposed to assess the comprehensive performance of the sensor.The FOM of the proposed sensor reaches up to 263.94(nm/℃)∕s,which is more than two to three orders of magnitude higher than those of other temperature fiber optic sensors reported previously.Additionally,a threemonth cycle test shows that the sensor is highly robust,with excellent reversibility and accuracy,allowing it to be incorporated with a wearable face mask for detecting temperature changes during human breathing.The high FOM and high stability of the proposed sensing fiber structure provide an excellent opportunity to develop both ultrafast and highly sensitive fiber optic sensors for wearable respiratory monitoring and contactless in vitro detection. | ZHIBIN LI ZIYE WU ZHUOQI LI LIANGXUN OU WENXIANG ZHANG ZHICONG LAI YU ZHANG MENGYUAN XIE JIEYUAN TANG WENGUO ZHU HUADAN ZHENG YONGCHUN ZHONG XIONG DENG XIHUA ZOU ZHE CHEN JIANHUI YU | 2023 | Photonics Research2023,11,8: | 0 |

| 16 | Pancreatic cancer with ovarian metastasis: cases report and literature review显示文摘Background: Pancreatic cancer with ovarian metastases is rare and easily misdiagnosed. Patients with ovarian metastases are first diagnosed with ovarian cancer and may miss the opportunity to receive surgical operation. We report 7 rare cases of ovarian metastases secondary to pancreatic adenocarcinoma and review the literature to analyze clinical characteristics, diagnostic methods, and potential therapeutic strategies for the rare malignancy.Cases Summary: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 7 female patients with ovarian metastases of primary pancreatic cancer who were admitted to our hospital from January 01, 1985, to April 1, 2020. These 7 patients were diagnosed with ovarian metastasis at an average age of 52.28 (38-69) years. The reason for the patient’s visit was generally a mass in the lower abdomen and/or abdominal pain. Six of them had significantly higher serum Carbohydrate antigen19-9 (CA19-9) levels, 6 patients had pancreatic tumors located in the body or tail, and 1 patient had one in the head of the pancreas. All patients underwent excision of ovarian tumors and resection or biopsy of pancreatic tumors. Five patients had pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), and 2 had pancreatic cystadenocarcinoma (PCC), all of which were revealed by the pathological results. Ovarian tumors were assessed by pathology and were consistent with pancreatic metastasis. Currently, all 7 patients have died (follow-up to January 2, 2021). The median survival time for all patients was 13.7 months (2.9-27 months).Conclusions: For this rare tumor, elevated serum CA19-9 may indicate that the primary lesion is in the pancreas. Enhanced pancreatic Computed Tomography (CT) can facilitate diagnostic localization.
