3Epidemiological and clinical characteristics of 35 children with COVID-19 in Beijing,China显示文摘Importance:Within the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)global pandemic,more attention is warranted for whether this new infectious disease has unique manifestations in children.Objective:To retrospectively determine the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of 35 children with COVID-19 in Beijing,China.Methods:We collected data for 35 children diagnosed with COVID-19 who were admitted to Beijing Ditan Hospital from January 2020 to June 2020,and analyzed their epidemiological characteristics,clinical manifestations,laboratory examinations,chest imaging findings,treatments,and outcomes.Results:The children comprised 18 boys(51.4%)and 17 girls(48.6%)aged 6 months to 15 years.All patients had clear epidemiological history,with family clusters accounting for 28 cases(80.0%)and clear tracing of exposure to high epidemic areas in the remaining 7 cases(20.0%).Four(11.4%)patients were classified as asymptomatic,17(48.6%)as acute upper respiratory infection,and 14(40.0%)as mild pneumonia,with no severe or critical cases.Clinical manifestations were mild,including fever in 18(51.4%),cough in 14(40.0%),and nausea and diarrhea in 7(20.0%)patients.White blood cell count was mostly normal(26 cases,74.3%)or decreased(7 cases,20.0%);lymphocyte percentage was increased in 24(68.7%);neutrophil percentage was decreased in 25(71.4%);alanine aminotransferase was increased in 3(8.6%);and serum potassium was decreased in 4(11.4%).Time to negative viral nucleic acid testing was 2-42 days(mean:14.0±9.4 days).Chest imaging examination revealed that 20 patients(57.1%)had different forms of lung inflammation.Treatment was mainly isolation and nutritional support.Eleven patients were treated with interferon atomization inhalation.No patients required oxygen therapy.All 35 children were cured and discharged.Length of hospital stay was 9-54 days(mean:25.4±13.8 days).During regular follow-up after discharge,5 children showed positivity again in the viral nucleic acid test and were re-hospitalized for observation and treatment.The mean length of re-hospitalization stay was 10.8 days.Interpretation:Children with COVID-19 mainly become infected within their family,and children of all ages are generally susceptible.The disease in children is mostly mild and the prognosis is good.Nucleic acid tests in some patients become positive again after discharge,suggesting that it is of great significance to carry out centralized isolation medical observations and active nucleic acid tests in close contacts for early detection of patients and routine epidemic prevention and control.Ming He Caiying Wang Lin Xu Huimin Zhang Yuhuan Liu Yang Zhao Shuxin He Yanlan Zhang Hongling Yang Yang Liu Min Miao Zhihai Chen Lin Pang 2020Pediatric Investigation2020,4,4:3
4Flotation performance of a novel Gemini collector for kaolinite at low temperature显示文摘How to sustainably produce bauxite by effective reverse froth flotation of kaolinite at low temperature is an urgent problem to be solved in the field of mineral processing.In this work,a novel amino-based Gemini surfactant butadiyl-1,4-bis(dimethyl dodecylammonium bromide)(BBDB) was prepared and first utilized as a novel collector for kaolinite flotation.Its flotation performance for kaolinite was compared with that of the common monomolecular surfactant 1-dodecylamine(DDA) by micro-flotation tests.The tests results indicated that 95% kaolinite recovery was obtained using 2.0×10^(-4) mol/L BBDB at 25℃ which was half of the dosage when DDA obtained the maximum kaolinite recovery of81%.At extremely low temperature(0℃),3.0×10^(-4) mol/L BBDB could still collect 91% kaolinite,while DDA showed a frustrating ability.The contact angle tests indicated that BBDB could still significantly improve the hydrophobicity of the kaolinite surface(contact angle 71.7°) than DDA(contact angle only25.8°) at 0℃.The Krafft point comparison tests indicated that BBDB had a much lower Krafft point(below0℃) than DDA.Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)-spectrum analysis and zeta potential measurements showed that BBDB was physically adsorbed on the surface of kaolinite through electrostatic interaction.Shiyong Zhang Zhiqiang Huang Hongling Wang Rukuan Liu Chen Cheng Shuyi Shuai Yajing Hu Zhiqun Guo Xinyang Yu Guichun He Weng Fu 2021International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2021,31,6:2
5Artesunate and Dihydroartemisinin Inhibit Rabies Virus Replication显示文摘Rabies is caused by infection of rabies virus(RABV)and remains a serious threat to the global public health.Except for the requirement for cold chain and high cost of human rabies immune globulin,no small molecule drugs are currently available for clinical treatment of rabies.So,it is of great importance to identify novel compounds that can effectively inhibit RABV infection.Artesunate(ART)and dihydroartemisinin(DHA),two derivatives of artemisinin,are widely used for treatment of malaria in adults and children,showing high safety.In this study,we found that both ART and DHA were able to inhibit RABV replication in host cells at a low concentration(0.1μmol/L).The antiviral effects of ART and DHA were independent of viral strains and cell lines.Pre-treatment with ART or DHA for 2 h in vitro did not affect the viral replication in host cells,implying that ART and DHA neither reduced the viability of RABV directly nor inhibited the binding and entrance of the virus to host cells.Further studies revealed that ART and DHA inhibited RABV genomic RNA synthesis and viral gene transcription.Treatment with ART or DHA(5 mg/kg)by intramuscular injection improved,to some extent,the survival rate of RABV-challenged mice.Combination treatment with derivatives of artemisinin and mannitol significantly improved the survival rate of RABV-challenged mice.The results suggest that ART and DHA have a great potential to be explored as new anti-rabies agents for treatment of rabies.Jun Luo Yue Zhang Yang Wang Qing Liu Jiesen Li Hongling He Yongwen Luo Shile Huang Xiaofeng Guo 2021Virologica Sinica2021,36,4:2

12Community Characteristics and Species Diversity of Wetland Plants in the Yangguan Nature Reserve of Dunhuang显示文摘As a typical inland wetland, Yangguan nature reserve wetland in Dunhuang is one of the important stops of migratory route for birds, which is vulnerable and particular. Study on the community characteristics and species diversity of wetland has great signifi cance for biodiversity protection. Based on the fi eld investigation, the fl oristic composition, geographical elements and species diversity of wetland plants were studied in Yangguan reserve of Dunhuang. The results showed that 26 families, 56 genera and 74 species were recorded in the study area. The largest families were the Gramineae and Chenopodiaceae, accounting for 29.73% of the total. Herbs were the most abundant life-form, accounting for 77.03% of the total. The fl oral geographical elements of the plants were mainly composed of temperate zone distribution type. By using two way indicator species analysis(TWINSPAN), the vegetation in 36 sampling plots could be classifi ed into 8 communities. The species diversity indexes of communities were relatively low, but had large differences among each other. According to the importance value, the Margalef richness index(Rm) ranged from 0 to 4.200. Simpson diversity index(D) was between 0 and 0.512; Shannon diversity index(H) ranged from 0 to 1.400, and Pielou evenness index(J) was within the range of 0.538 to 1.000. 13Flotation separation of wolframite from calcite using a new trisiloxane surfactant as collector显示文摘Since wolframite is usually associated with calcite,the separation and enrichment of wolframite by froth flotation remains a great challenge.Herein,a novel trisiloxane surfactant N-(2-aminoethyl)-3-ami nopropyltrisiloxane(AATS)was successful synthesized,which was used for the separation of wolframite from calcite for the first time.The flotation separation performance of AATS was studied by flotation test,and its adsorption mechanism was explored based on contact angle,infrared spectrum analysis(FTIR),zeta potential and density functional theory(DFT)calculation.The results of microflotation test and binary mixed ore flotation test pointed that AATS had excellent selectivity and more prominent collection capacity for the flotation of wolframite when compared with industrial reagent sodium oleate(NaOL).The measurement results of contact angle proved that AATS improved the hydrophobicity of the wolframite surface.The highly selective adsorption mechanism of AATS surfactant on mineral surfaces were further researched and analyzed by FTIR and zeta potential.The results revealed that AATS surfactant had significant adsorption effect on wolframite,yet almost no adsorption on calcite.DFT calculation indicated that AATS produced electrostatic adsorption with wolframite surface through—N+H3 group.Shuyi Shuai Zhiqiang Huang Vladimir E.Burov Vladimir Z.Poilov Fangxu Li Hongling Wang Rukuan Liu Shiyong Zhang Chen Cheng Wenyuan Li Xinyang Yu Guichun He Weng Fu 2023International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2023,33,3:0

16Improving Federated Learning through Abnormal Client Detection and Incentive显示文摘Data sharing and privacy protection are made possible by federated learning,which allows for continuous model parameter sharing between several clients and a central server.Multiple reliable and high-quality clients must participate in practical applications for the federated learning global model to be accurate,but because the clients are independent,the central server cannot fully control their behavior.The central server has no way of knowing the correctness of the model parameters provided by each client in this round,so clients may purposefully or unwittingly submit anomalous data,leading to abnormal behavior,such as becoming malicious attackers or defective clients.To reduce their negative consequences,it is crucial to quickly detect these abnormalities and incentivize them.In this paper,we propose a Federated Learning framework for Detecting and Incentivizing Abnormal Clients(FL-DIAC)to accomplish efficient and security federated learning.We build a detector that introduces an auto-encoder for anomaly detection and use it to perform anomaly identification and prevent the involvement of abnormal clients,in particular for the anomaly client detection problem.Among them,before the model parameters are input to the detector,we propose a Fourier transform-based anomaly data detectionmethod for dimensionality reduction in order to reduce the computational complexity.Additionally,we create a credit scorebased incentive structure to encourage clients to participate in training in order tomake clients actively participate.Three training models(CNN,MLP,and ResNet-18)and three datasets(MNIST,Fashion MNIST,and CIFAR-10)have been used in experiments.According to theoretical analysis and experimental findings,the FL-DIAC is superior to other federated learning schemes of the same type in terms of effectiveness.Hongle Guo Yingchi Mao Xiaoming He Benteng Zhang Tianfu Pang Ping Ping 2024Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2024,139,4:0

18MAFLD was more easily diagnosed than NAFLD in liver transplant recipients with abnormal liver function显示文摘Background and aims:Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is hepatic steatosis that is require the exclusion of certain etiologies,including drug usage or alcoholic consumption.Conversely,metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD)needs not to.In this study,we aimed to examine whether MAFLD is more easily diagnosed than NAFLD in liver transplant(LT)recipients with abnormal liver function.Methods:In this cross-sectional study,LT recipients with abnormal liver function were investigated for the prevalence of MAFLD and NAFLD.Results:We recruited 57 LT recipients with abnormal liver function at a referral hospital.Among these patients,the prevalence of MAFLD and NAFLD was 37.8%and 11.1%,respectively.17 patients showed hepatic steatosis,with an average NAFLD activity score of 3.5 and a fibrosis score of 1.0.Compared with non-MAFLD patients,MAFLD patients had a significant difference in fasting blood glucose levels(p?0.009).Among 17 MAFLD patients,12 were overweight and four were diagnosed with diabetes mellitus.The majority of MAFLD diagnoses were based on body mass index(70.6%)and diabetes mellitus history(23.5%),biomarkers that are easily obtained.At 6,12,24,and 36 months after LT,MAFLD patients had higher levels of fasting blood glucose(6 months:p?0.004,12 months:p?0.038)and higher trend of body mass index value and plasma triglyceride level but no significance.Conclusions:MAFLD was more easily diagnosed in LT recipients with abnormal liver function and higher in prevalence than NAFLD.A larger sample size research is required to validate these conclusions.Dali Zhang Hongbo Wang Xi He Danni Feng Yanling Sun Zhenwen Liu Yinjie Gao Hongling Liu 2022iLIVER2022,1,3:0
