3A multi-layered Ti3C2/Li2S composite as cathode material for advanced lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries with lithium sulfide(Li2S)as cathode have attracted great attention recently,because of high specific capacity(1166 mA h g^-1)of Li2S and potential safety of using Li metal-free anode.Li2S cathode has lower volume expansion and higher thermal stability than the traditional sulfur cathode.However,the problems of'shuttle effect'and poor electrical conductivity of the cathode material still need to be overcome.In this work,multi-layered Ti3C2/Li2S(ML-Ti3C2/Li2S)composite has been prepared and applied as a cathode in advanced Li-S batteries.The unique multi-layer sheet structure of Ti3 C2 provides space for the storage of Li2S,and its good conductivity greatly enhances the usage ratio of Li2 S and improves the conductivity of the whole Li2S cathode.Compared with commonly used graphene,ML-Ti3C2 can trap polysulfides effectively by chemical adsorption and also activate the reaction of Li2S to polysulfides by forming Ti-S bond.As a result,during the cycling of the batteries with ML-Ti3C2/Li2S cathodes,the activation voltage barrier of the first cycle has decreased to 2.8 V,and the'shuttle effect'has been suppressed effectively.The cycling and rate performances of the ML-Ti3C2/Li2S cathodes have been significantly improved compared to that of graphene/Li2 S cathodes.They maintain a capacity of 450 mAh g^-1 at 0.2 C after 100 cycles,and deliver attractive rate performances of 750,630,540,470 and 360 mAh g^-1 at 0.1 C,0.2 C,0.5 C,1 C,and 2 C,respectively.Xin Liang Jufeng Yun Kun Xu Hongfa Xiang Yong Wang Yi Sun Yan Yu 2019Journal of Energy Chemistry2019,28,12:4

10Ratiometric recognition of humidity by a europium-organic framework equipped with quasi-open metal site显示文摘Open metal site(OMS)seated in a luminescent lanthanide(Ln)metal center offers an opportunity for rationally tuning the spectroscopic behavior of lanthanide-organic frameworks aiming for a wide range of sensing applications.However,given the spherical nature of common coordination geometries of trivalent lanthanides and the generally strong Ln–O bonds,the lanthanide based OMS is rarely reported and difficult to be functionalized.We report here a unique europium-organic framework containing abundant quasi-OMS that is protected by an abnormal weak Eu–O bond.These quasi-OMSs offer reversible direct binding sites for water molecules probed by X-ray crystallography,leading to sensitive,visible,and ratiometric luminescent sensing toward humidity and water content in organic solvents.The specific recognition of water based on quasi-luminescentOMSs gives rise to a superior water detection limit down to 0.0003%v/v,which is one order of magnitude lower than that of Karl Fischer method.Wei Zhang Jian Xie Zhuyin Sui Zhijun Xu Xiaoze Wang Min Lei Hongfa Zhang Zhongyue Li Yanlong Wang Wei Liu Wei Du Shuao Wang 2021Science China Chemistry2021,64,10:1

12The influence of home environmental factors and life style on children's respiratory health in Xi'an显示文摘To assess associations between home indoor air environments and asthma,allergies and pneumonia,children aged 1–8 years were surveyed from 12 kindergartens in the city of Xi’an.2,020 questionnaires were responded with a response rate of 83.5%.The prevalences of doctor diagnosed asthma,hay fever,and pneumonia were 2.9%,3.6%,and 28.3%,respectively.Living close to a highway was a risk factor for current rhinitis(AOR 1.5,95%CI 1.2–1.8),eczema(AOR 1.7,95%CI 1.2–2.5),and diagnosed pneumonia(AOR 1.3,95%CI 1.0–1.6).Dampness problems in the home were associated with 50%–130%increases in the prevalences of asthma and allergy.Airing bed linen under sun-shine was protective,especially against rhinitis.Pet avoidance was consistently and significantly associated with asthma and allergy(AOR 1.3–2.4).Decoration of the home during children’s early life is a risk factor for current rhinitis(AOR 1.9,95%CI 1.3–2.9)and eczema(AOR 1.9,95%CI1.1–3.6).Risk factors for pneumonia were living in an apartment(AOR 1.4,95%CI 1.1–1.8),latex wall paint(AOR 1.3,95%CI 1.0–1.7),dampness(AOR 1.4–1.5),breast feeding\3 months(AOR 1.3,95%CI 1.0–1.7),never airing bed linen in sunshine(AOR 1.3,95%CI1.3–1.6),and cleaning children’s room less frequently than once per day(AOR 1.4,95%CI 1.1–1.7).This study demonstrates that home indoor environmental and life style factors may influence the health of children in Xi’an.Angui Li Yuexia Sun Zhijian Liu Xiaoxia Xu Hongfa Sun Jan Sundell 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,17:0
13Service Life Design for Concrete Engineering in Marine Environments of Northern China Based on a Modified Theoretical Model of Chloride Diffusion and Large Datasets of Ocean Parameters显示文摘In this study,through experimental research and an investigation on large datasets of the durability parameters in ocean engineering,the values,ranges,and types of distribution of the durability parameters employed for the durability design in ocean engineering in northern China were confirmed.Based on a modified theoretical model of chloride diffusion and the reliability theory,the service lives of concrete structures exposed to the splash,tidal,and underwater zones were calculated.Mixed concrete proportions meeting the requirement of a service life of 100 or 120 years were designed,and a cover thickness requirement was proposed.In addition,the effects of the different time-varying relationships of the boundary condition(Cs)and diffusion coefficient(Df)on the service life were compared;the results showed that the time-varying relationships used in this study(i.e.,Cscontinuously increased and then remained stable,and Dfcontinuously decreased and then remained stable)were beneficial for the durability design of concrete structures in marine environment.Taotao Feng Hongfa Yu Yongshan Tan Haiyan Ma Mei Xu Chengjun Yue 2022Engineering2022,,10:0

15Dissection of environmental and physiological effects on the temperature difference between superior and inferior spikelets within a rice panicle显示文摘Temperature of a plant organ constitutes an integrative index to its eco-physiological properties and status.However,little attempt has been made to dissect the combined effect of ecological and physiological factors on the surface temperature of a plant organ such as the rice spikelet.In this study,using a deactivated plant as reference,we developed a novel comparison method to dissect the environmental and physiological effects on temperature of rice spikelet.Three japonica rice cultivars with contrasting canopy features were used as testing materials.Temperatures of flag leaf,superior and inferior spikelets and their diurnal rhythm during grain filling stage were precisely measured by a hand-held infrared thermometer.The results showed that the variation of environmental conditions within a panicle was relatively minor,posing a limited influence on temperature difference between the superior and inferior spikelet.On the other hand,it was the intrinsic physiological properties that considerably affected the spatial variations of spikelet temperature within a panicle.Chemical analysis of sucrose and starch in grains and bracts indicated that the superior spikelet is more physiologically active at photosynthetic assimilation and starch biosynthesis.Interestingly,sugar in bracts exhibited a pattern of diurnal changes similar to the source leaf but different from the sink grain,confirming that bracts are source organs for grain filling.Our findings yield penetrating insight into the eco-physiological foundation of spikelet temperature,thus being helpful for the application of physiological approaches in crop breeding for cooler canopy.Yi Li Qianlan Zhou Mingjie He Hongfa Xu Ganghua Li Yanfeng Ding Matthew Paul Zhenghui Liu 2021The Crop Journal2021,9,5:0
16A Broad Range Triboelectric Stiffness Sensor for Variable Inclusions Recognition显示文摘With the development of artificial intelligence,stiffness sensors are extensively utilized in various fields,and their integration with robots for automated palpation has gained significant attention.This study presents a broad range self-powered stiffness sensor based on the triboelectric nanogenerator(Stiff-TENG)for variable inclusions in soft objects detection.The Stiff-TENG employs a stacked structure comprising an indium tin oxide film,an elastic sponge,a fluorinated ethylene propylene film with a conductive ink electrode,and two acrylic pieces with a shielding layer.Through the decoupling method,the Stiff-TENG achieves stiffness detection of objects within 1.0 s.The output performance and characteristics of the TENG for different stiffness objects under 4 mm displacement are analyzed.The Stiff-TENG is successfully used to detect the heterogeneous stiffness structures,enabling effective recognition of variable inclusions in soft object,reaching a recognition accuracy of 99.7%.Furthermore,its adaptability makes it well-suited for the detection of pathological conditions within the human body,as pathological tissues often exhibit changes in the stiffness of internal organs.This research highlights the innovative applications of TENG and thereby showcases its immense potential in healthcare applications such as palpation which assesses pathological conditions based on organ stiffness.Ziyi Zhao Zhentan Quan Huaze Tang Qinghao Xu Hongfa Zhao Zihan Wang Ziwu Song Shoujie Li Ishara Dharmasena Changsheng Wu Wenbo Ding 2023Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,12:0
17Discovery of Kaempferol,a Novel ADAM10 Inhibitor,as a Potential Treatment for Staphylococcus aureus Infection显示文摘Host-directed therapy(HDT)is an emerging novel approach for treating multidrug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(S.aureus)infection.Functioning as the indispensable specific cellular receptor for a-toxin(Hla),a-disintegrin and metalloproteinase 10(ADAM10)is exploited to accelerate S.aureus infection through diverse mechanisms.The extraordinary contribution of ADAM10 to S.aureus pathogenesis renders it an attractive HDT target for combating S.aureus infection.Our study is the first to demonstrate the indispensable role of ADAM10 in S.aureus-induced necroptosis,and it enhances our knowledge of the role of ADAM10 in S.aureus infection.Using a fluorogenic substrate assay,we further identified kaempferol as a potent ADAM10 inhibitor that effectively protected mice from S.aureus infection by suppressing Hla-mediated barrier disruption and necroptosis.Collectively,our work presents a novel hostdirected therapeutic strategy for using the promising candidate kaempferol to treat S.aureus infection and other diseases relevant to the disordered upregulation of ADAM10.Tingting Wang Jianfeng Wang Xiangzhu Xu Fan Jiang Hongfa Lv Qinghui Qi Can Zhang Qianghua Lv Xuming Deng 2023Engineering2023,,9:0

20Relationship between estrus cycles and behavioral durations of captive female alpine musk deer显示文摘Owing to poor breeding success in captive alpine musk deer, an understanding of the behavioral patterns of muskdeer in captivity is important. This study was conducted from June 2004 to January 2005 at the Xinglongshan MuskDeer Farm, which is located within Xinglongshan National Nature Reserve, Gansu Province, China. Focal samplingand continuous recording were used to observe the behaviors of 51 female alpine musk deer (Moschus sifanicus),42 of which had completed a single estrus cycle and nine of which had completed two or more estrus cycles. Allanimals were adults that had been born and raised in captivity. The durations of 12 behaviors, including environmentalsniffing, moving and feeding, were recorded during the non-breeding seasons and behavioral patterns werecompared. The behavioral patterns of females that had completed a single estrus cycle and females that hadcompleted multiple estrus cycles were compared to assess potential behavioral differences. The results showed thatfemales who had only one complete estrus cycle demonstrated more resting behavior, but less feeding and locomotorbehavior than females who had completed multiple estrus cycles. Furthermore, single estrus cycle femalesdemonstrated tail-rubbing during the breeding season.
