3D C_f/SiBCN composites prepared by an improved polymer infiltration and pyrolysis显示文摘Using liquid poly(methylvinyl)borosilazanes(PMVBSZ)as precursor, carbon fiber reinforced SiBCN matrix composites(C_f/SiBCN)were fabricated by a modified polymer infiltration and pyrolysis(PIP)process. With dicumyl peroxide added as cross-linking agent, the PMVBSZ could be solidified at a low temperature of 120℃,leading to a high ceramic yield of~70%.The cross-linking mechanism and ceramization processes of the precursor were investigated in detail. Moreover,a modified infiltration technology was developed, which improved the efficiency and protected the precursor against moist air during PIP.Consequently, the obtained C_f/SiBCN composites had an oxygen content of around 1.22 wt%.Benefiting from the high ceramic yield and high efficiency of the modified PIP,C_f/SiBCN composites with an open porosity of~10%and uniform microstructure were obtained after only 7 cycles of PIP.The flexural strength and fracture toughness of the derived C_f/SiBCN composites were 371 MPa and 12.9 MPa·m^(1/2),respectively.This work provides a potential route for the fabrication of high performance C_f/SiBCN composites. | Qi DING Dewei NI Zhen WANG Hao ZHONG Hongda WANG Haijun ZHOU Yanmei KAN Shaoming DONG | 2018 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2018,7,3: | 9
Fabrication and microstructure of ZrB_2–ZrC–SiC coatings on C/C composites by reactive melt infiltration using ZrSi_2 alloy显示文摘ZrB_2–ZrC–SiC ternary coatings on C/C composites are investigated by reactive melt infiltration of ZrSi_2 alloy into pre-coatings. Two different pre-coating structures, including porous B_4C–C and dense C/B, are designed by slurry dip and chemical vapor deposition(CVD) process respectively. The coating prepared by reactive melt infiltration(RMI) into B_4C–C presents a flat and smooth surface with a three-layer cross-sectional structure, namely interior SiC transition layer, gradient ZrB_2–ZrC–SiC layer, and ZrB_2–ZrC exterior layer. In comparison, the coating prepared by RMI into C/B shows a more granular surface with a different three-layer cross-sectional structure, interior unreacted B–C pre-coating layer, middle SiC layer, and exterior ZrB_2–ZrC–ZrSi_2 layer. The forming mechanisms of the specific microstructures in two coatings are also investigated and discussed in detail. | Chaoqiang XUE Haijun ZHOU Jianbao HU Hongda WANG Jiayue XU Shaoming DONG | 2018 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2018,7,1: | 6
Clinicopathological analysis of metaplastic meningioma: report of 15 cases in Huashan Hospital显示文摘Objective: Metaplastic meningioma is a rare subtype of benign meningiomas, classified as WHO grade I with well prognosis. Here we presented our experiences on 15 cases of metaplastic meningioma, to investigate the clinicopathological features, therapies and prognosis of these cases. Methods: 15 patients underwent surgical treatment for intracranial metaplastic meningioma between 2001 and 2010 at Neurosurgery Department of Huashan Hospital, Shanghai, China. The clinical data, radiological manifestation, treatment strategy, pathological findings and prognosis of all patients were analyzed retrospectively. Results: Among the 15 cases (10 males and 5 females), the age ranged from 22 to 74 years old (the mean age was 50.67-year old). The clinical manifestations include headache, dizziness, seizure attack, vision decrease, and weakness of bilateral lower limbs. All the patients received surgical treatment, combined with radiotherapy in some cases. In the follow-up period, recurrence occurred in 2 cases, of which 1 patient died of other system complications. Conclusions: Metaplastic meningiomas are characterized by focal or widespread mesenchymal differentiation with formation of bone, cartilage, fat, and xanthomatous tissue elements. Surgical removal is the optimal therapy, and the overall prognosis is well. But recurrence may occur in some cases, thus radiotherapy is necessary for such kind of patients. | Hailiang Tang Huaping Sun Hong Chen Ye Gong Ying Mao Qing Xie Liqian Xie Mingzhe Zheng Daijun Wang Hongda Zhu Xiaoming Che Ping Zhong Kang Zheng Shiqi Li Weimin Bao Jianhong Zhu Xuanchun Wang Xiaoyuan Feng Xiancheng Chen Liangfu Zhou | 2013 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2013,25,1: | 6
Superior anti-corrosion and self-healing bi-functional polymer composite coatings with polydopamine modified mesoporous silica/graphene oxide显示文摘In this article, graphene oxide(GO)and benzotriazole-loaded mesoporous silica nanoparticles(BTA/MSNs)are combined on micro scale through the in situ polymerization of polydopamine(PDA),preparing a selfhealing bi-functional GO(fGO)used as nano-fillers for anti-corrosion enhancement of waterborne epoxy(WEP)coatings.Scanning electronic microscopy(SEM)images show that the BTA/MSNs are uniformly distributed on the surface of high aspect ratio GO nanosheets to endow GO nanocontainer characteristics.UV-vis profiles demonstrate that fGO has p H-controlled release function.Modulus at lowest frequency is generally used for comparing the corrosion resistance of organic coatings.Modulus at lowest frequency(1.42×10^(5)Ωcm^(2))after 30 days immersion in 3.5 wt.%Na Cl solution revealed 2 orders of magnitude higher that of blank WEP(1.17×10^(7)Ωcm^(2)).With artificial cracks on its coatings,fGO/WEP had no obvious rust compared with blank WEP after 240 h of immersion. We anticipate that self-healing and physical barrier bi-functional nanocontainers improve the traditional anticorrosion coating efficiency with better,longer-lasting performance for shipping, oil drilling or bridge maintenance. | Yanqi Ma Haowei Huang Hongda Zhou Michael Graham James Smith Xinxin Sheng Ying Chen Li Zhang Xinya Zhang Elena Shchukina Dmitry Shchukin | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,36: | 4
Application of CUSA Excel ultrasonic aspiration system in resection of skull base meningiomas显示文摘Background: Effective methods for managing patients with solitary pulmonary nodules(SPNs) depend critically on the predictive probability of malignancy. Methods: Between July 2009 and June 2011, data on gender, age, cancer history, tumor familial history, smoking status, tumor location, nodule size, spiculation, calcification, the tumor border, and the final pathological diagnosis were collected retrospectively from 154 surgical patients with an SPN measuring 3-30 mm. Each final diagnosis was compared with the probability calculated by three predicted models—the Mayo, VA, and Peking University(PU) models. The accuracy of each model was assessed using area under the receiver operating characteristics(ROC) and calibration curves. Results: The area under the ROC curve of the PU model [0.800; 95% confidence interval(CI): 0.708-0.891] was higher than that of the Mayo model(0.753; 95% CI: 0.650-0.857) or VA model(0.728; 95% CI: 0.623-0.833); however, this finding was not statistically significant. To varying degrees, calibration curves showed that all three models overestimated malignancy. Conclusions: The three predicted models have similar accuracy for prediction of SPN malignancy, although the accuracy is not sufficient. For Chinese patients, the PU model may has greater predictive power. Background: Here, we introduced our short experience on the application of a new CUSA Excel ultrasonic aspiration system, which was provided by Integra Lifesciences corporation, in skull base meningiomas resection. Methods: Ten patients with anterior, middle skull base and sphenoid ridge meningioma were operated using the CUSA Excel ultrasonic aspiration system at the Neurosurgery Department of Shanghai Huashan Hospital from August 2014 to October 2014. There were six male and four female patients, aged from 38 to 61 years old(the mean age was 48.5 years old). Five cases with tumor located at anterior skull base, three cases with tumor on middle skull base, and two cases with tumor on sphenoid ridge. Results: All the patents received total resection of meningiomas with the help of this new tool, and the critical brain vessels and nerves were preserved during operations. All the patients recovered well after operation. Conclusions: This new CUSA Excel ultrasonic aspiration system has the advantage of preserving vital brain arteries and cranial nerves during skull base meningioma resection, which is very important for skull base tumor operations. This key step would ensure a well prognosis for patients. We hope the neurosurgeons would benefit from this kind of technique. Background: The purposes of this study were to explore the effects of high mobility group protein box 1(HMGB1) gene on the growth, proliferation, apoptosis, invasion, and metastasis of glioma cells, with an attempt to provide potential therapeutic targets for the treatment of glioma. Methods: The expressions of HMGB1 in glioma cells(U251, U-87 MG and LN-18) and one control cell line(SVG p12) were detected by real time PCR and Western blotting, respectively. Then, the effects of HMGB1 on the biological behaviors of glioma cells were detected: the expression of HMGB1 in human glioma cell lines U251 and U-87 MG were suppressed using RNAi technique, then the influences of HMGB1 on the viability, cycle, apoptosis, and invasion abilities of U251 and U-87 MG cells were analyzed using in a Transwell invasion chamber. Also, the effects of HMGB1 on the expressions of cyclin D1, Bax, Bcl-2, and MMP 9 were detected. Results: As shown by real-time PCR and Western blotting, the expression of HMGB1 significantly increased in glioma cells(U251, U-87 MG, and LN-18) in comparison with the control cell line(SVG p12); the vitality, proliferation and invasive capabilities of U251 and U-87 MG cells in the HMGB1 siR NA-transfected group were significantly lower than those in the blank control group and negative control(NC) siR NA group(P<0.05) but showed no significant difference between the blank control group and NC siR NA group. The percentage of apoptotic U251 and U-87 MG cells was significantly higher in the HMGB1 siR NA-transfected group than in the blank control group and NC siR NA group(P<0.05) but was similar between the latter two groups. The HMGB1 siR NA-transfected group had significantly lower expression levels of Cyclin D1, Bcl-2, and MMP-9 protein in U251 and U-87 MG cells and significantly higher expression of Bax protein than in the blank control group and NC siR NA group(P<0.05); the expression profiles of cyclin D1, Bax, Bcl-2, and MMP 9 showed no significant change in both blank control group and NC siR NA group. Conclusions: HMGB1 gene may promote the proliferation and migration of glioma cells and suppress its effects of apoptosis. Inhibition of the expression of HMGB1 gene can suppress the proliferation and migration of glioma cells and promote their apoptosis. Our observations provided a new target for intervention and treatment of glioma. | Hailiang Tang Haishi Zhang Qing Xie Ye Gong Mingzhe Zheng Daijun Wang Hongda Zhu Xiancheng Chen Liangfu Zhou | 2014 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2014,26,6: | 3
Intraoperative ultrasound assistance in resection of intracranial meningiomas显示文摘Objective: Intracranial meningiomas, especially those located at anterior and middle skull base, are difficult to be completely resected due to their complicated anatomy structures and adjacent vessels. It's essential to locate the tumor and its vessels precisely during operation to reduce the risk of neurological deficits. The purpose of this study was to evaluate intraoperative ultrasonography in displaying intracranial meningioma and its surrounding arteries, and evaluate its potential to improve surgical precision and minimize surgical trauma. Methods: Between December 2011 and January 2013, 20 patients with anterior and middle skull base meningioma underwent surgery with the assistance of intraoperative ultrasonography in the Neurosurgery Department of Shanghai Huashan Hospital. There were 7 male and 13 female patients, aged from 31 to 66 years old. Their sonographic features were analyzed and the advantages of intraoperative ultrasonography were discussed. Results: The border of the meningioma and its adjacent vessels could be exhibited on intraoperative ultrasonography. The sonographic visualization allowed the neurosurgeon to choose an appropriate approach before the operation. In addition, intraoperative ultrasonography could inform neurosurgeons about the location of the tumor, its relation to the surrounding arteries during the operation, thus these essential arteries could be protected carefully. Conclusions: Intraoperative ultrasonography is a useful intraoperative technique. When appropriately applied to assist surgical procedures for intracranial meningioma, it could offer very important intraoperative information (such as the tumor supplying vessels) that helps to improve surgical resection and therefore might reduce the postoperative morbidity. | Hailiang Tang Huaping Sun Liqian Xie Qisheng Tang Ye Gong Ying Mao Qing Xie Mingzhe Zheng Daijun Wang Hongda Zhu Jianhong Zhu Xiaoyuan Feng Zhenwei Yao Xiancheng Chen Liangfu Zhou | 2013 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2013,25,3: | 3

A novel method for chemistry tabulation of strained premixed/stratified flames based on principal component analysis显示文摘The principal component analysis(PCA) is used to analyze the high dimensional chemistry data of laminar premixed/stratified flames under strain effects. The first few principal components(PCs) with larger contribution ratios are chosen as the tabulated scalars to build the look-up chemistry table.Prior tests show that strained premixed flame structure can be well reconstructed. To highlight the physical meanings of the tabulated scalars in stratified flames,a modified PCA method is developed, where the mixture fraction is used to replace one of the PCs with the highest correlation coefficient. The other two tabulated scalars are then modified with the Schmidt orthogonalization. The modified tabulated scalars not only have clear physical meanings, but also contain passive scalars. The PCA method has good commonality, and can be extended for building the thermo-chemistry table including strain rate effects when different fuels are used. | Peng TANG Hongda ZHANG Taohong YE Zhou YU Zhaoyang XIA | 2018 | Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2018,39,6: | 3
Residual stress variation in SiC_(f)/SiC composite during heat treatment and its effects on mechanical behavior显示文摘Residual stress originated from thermal expansion mismatch determines the mechanical properties of ceramic matrix composites(CMCs).Here, continuous SiC fiber reinforced SiC matrix(SiC_(f)/SiC)composites were fabricated by nano-infiltration and transient eutectic-phase(NITE)method,and the residual stress of the composites was investigated using high-temperature Raman spectrometer. With temperature increasing from room temperature to 1400℃,the residual stresses of the matrix and the fiber decrease from 1.29 to 0.62 GPa and from 0.84 to 0.55 GPa in compression respectively, while that of the interphase decreases from 0.16 to 0.10 GPa in tension. The variation of residual stress shows little effect on the tensile strength of the composites, while causes a slight decrease in the tensile strain. The suppression of fiber/matrix debonding and fiber pulling-out caused by the residual stress reduction in the interphase is responsible for the decreasing tensile strain. This work can open up new alternatives for residual stress analysis in CMCs. | Xiaowu CHEN Guofeng CHENG Junmin ZHANG Feiyu GUO Haijun ZHOU Chunjin LIAO Hongda WANG Xiangyu ZHANG Shaoming DONG | 2020 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,5: | 3
Specific biotests to assess eco-toxicity of biodegradable polymer materials in soil显示文摘Eco-toxicity investigation of polymer materials was considered extremely necessary for their potential menace, which was widely use as mulching materials in agricultural. In this study, polyethylene(PE),polystyrene(PS)and synthetic biomaterials-Ecoflex and cellulose were applying into soil cultivated with two potential indicator plants species:oat(A v ena sati v a)and red radish(Raphanus sativum).Variety of chemical, biochemical parameters and enzyme activity in soil were proved as effective approach to evaluate polymers phytotoxicity in plant-soil mesocosm. The F-value of biomass,pH,heavy metal and electoral conductivity of Raphanus behaved significant different from T0.Significant analysis results indicated biodegradation was fast in PE than PS,besides, heavy metals were dramatically decrease in the end implied the plant absorption may help decrease heavy metal toxicity. The increase value at T2 of Dehydrogenase activity(0.84 higher than average value for Avena&0.91 higher for Raphanus),Metabolic Index(3.12 higher than average value for Avena&3.81 higher for Raphanus)means during soil enzyme activity was promoted by biodegradation for its heterotrophic organisms’energy transportation was stimulated.Statistics analysis was carried on Biplot PC1(24.2%of the total variance),PC2(23.2%of the total variance),versus PC3(22.8%of the total variance),which indicated phosphatase activity and metabolic index was significant correlated, and high correlation of ammonium and protease activity.Furthermore, the effects were more evident in Raphanus treatments than in Avena, suggesting the higher sensitivity of Raphanus to polymers treatment, which indicate biodegradation of polymers in Raphanus treatment has produced intermediate phytotoxic compounds. | Haiyan Chen Fei Wang Huilun Chen HongDa Fang Weiying Feng Yuan Wei FanFan Wang HaiLei Su YiDong Mi Min Zhou XinRu Li Serena Doni Andrea Corti | 2021 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,7: | 2

Large eddy simulation of turbulent premixed piloted flame using artificial thickened flame model coupled with tabulated chemistry显示文摘A sub-grid scale(SGS) combustion model, which combines the artificial thickened flame(ATF) model with the flamelet generated manifold(FGM) tabulation method, is proposed. Based on the analysis of laminar flame structures, two self-contained flame sensors are used to track the diffusion and reaction processes with different spatial scales in the flame front, respectively. The dynamic formulation for the proposed SGS combustion model is also performed. Large eddy simulations(LESs) of Bunsen flame F3 are used to evaluate the different SGS combustion models. The results show that the proposed SGS model has the ability in predicting the distributions of temperature and velocity reasonably, while the predictions for the distributions of some species need further improvement. The snapshots of instantaneous normalized progress variables reveal that the flame is more remarkably and severely wrinkled at the flame tip for flame F3.More satisfactory results obtained by the dynamic model indicate that it can preserve the premixed flame propagation characteristics better. | Zhou YU Hongda ZHANG Taohong YE Minming ZHU | 2018 | Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2018,39,9: | 1
Large eddy simulation of turbulent premixed and stratified combustion using flame surface density model coupled with tabulation method显示文摘Large eddy simulations(LESs) are performed to investigate the Cambridge premixed and stratified flames, SwB1 and SwB5, respectively. The flame surface density(FSD) model incorporated with two different wrinkling factor models, i.e., the Muppala and Charlette2 wrinkling factor models, is used to describe combustion/turbulence interaction, and the flamelet generated manifolds(FGM) method is employed to determine major scalars. This coupled sub-grid scale(SGS) combustion model is named as the FSD-FGM model. The FGM method can provide the detailed species in the flame which cannot be obtained from the origin FSD model. The LES results show that the FSD-FGM model has the ability of describing flame propagation, especially for stratified flames. The Charlette2 wrinkling factor model performs better than the Muppala wrinkling factor model in predicting the flame surface area change by the turbulence. The combustion characteristics are analyzed in detail by the flame index and probability distributions of the equivalence ratio and the orientation angle, which confirms that for the investigated stratified flame, the dominant combustion modes in the upstream and downstream regions are the premixed mode and the back-supported mode, respectively. | Zhou YU Hongda ZHANG Taohong YE Minming ZHU | 2018 | Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2018,39,12: | 1

Guanine nucleotide-binding protein subunit beta-4 promotes gastric cancer progression via activating Erk1/2显示文摘Gastric cancer(GC)is one of the most comm on and lethal malig nancies worldwide, and its poor prognosis is mainly due to the rapid tumor progression including tumor invasion, distant metastasis, etc.Understanding the molecular mechanisms regulating GC progression lays the basis for the development of targeted therapeutic agents.Increasing evidence suggests that guanine nucleotide-binding protein subunit beta-4(GNB4),a key subunit of heterotrimeric G protein, plays a crucial role in the initiation and progression of multiple malignancies. However, whether and how GNB4 promotes GC progression are still unknown. In this study,we found that GNB4 was highly expressed in GC tissues compared to that in non-tumor tissues and was significantly associated with tumor invasion depth, pathological stage and poor survival rate of GC patients. Both gain-of-function and loss-of-function studies revealed that GNB4 significantly enhanced GC cell growth and motility both in vitro and in vivo.Further studies revealed that GNB4 overexpression induced G1-S transition and promoted the process of epithelial-mesenchymal transformation. These tumor promoting effects were mediated by GNB4 which activates the Erk1/2 pathway through upregulating Erk1/2 phosphorylation,as U0126,an Erk1/2 phosphorylation inhibitor, could sigrdficantly inhibit GNB4-mediated cell proliferation, migration and invasion. In summary,GNB4 contributes to the proliferation and metastasis of GC cells by activating the Erk1/2 signaling pathway, and it may serve as a potential therapeutic target of GC. | Jianpeng Gao Hongda Pan Zhenglun Zhu Teng Yu Binhao Huang Ye Zhou | 2020 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,9: | 0
Mechanistic Insights into Membrane Protein Clustering Revealed by Visualizing EGFR Secretion显示文摘Most plasmalemmal proteins are organized into clusters to modulate various cellular functions. However, the machineries that regulate protein clustering remain largely unclear. Here, with EGFR as an example,we directly and in detail visualized the entire process of EGFR from synthesis to secretion onto the plasma membrane(PM)using a high-speed,high-resolution spinning-disk confocal microscope.First, colocalization imaging revealed that EGFR secretory vesicles underwent transport from the ER to the Golgi to the PM,eventually forming different distribution forms on the apical and basal membranes;that is,most EGFR formed larger clusters on the apical membrane than the basal membrane.A dynamic tracking image and further siRNA interference experiment confirmed that fusion of secretory vesicles with the plasma membrane led to EGFR clusters, and we showed that EGFR PM clustering may be intimately related to EGFR signaling and cell proliferation. Finally,we found that the size and origin of the secretory vesicles themselves may determine the difference in the distribution patterns of EGFR on the PM.More importantly,we showed that actin influenced the EGFR distribution by controlling the fusion of secretory vesicles with the PM.Collectively,a comprehensive understanding of the EGFR secretion process helps us to unravel the EGFR clustering process and elucidate the key factors determining the differences in the spatial distribution of EGFR PM,highlighting the correlation between EGFR secretion and its PM distribution pattern. | Haijiao Xu Jinrui Zhang Yijia Zhou Guanfang Zhao Mingjun Cai Jing Gao Lina Shao Yan Shi Hongru Li Hongbin Ji Yikai Zhao Hongda Wang | 2023 | Research2023,,1: | 0

Charge storage mechanism of copper hexacyanoferrate nanocubes for supercapacitors显示文摘The widely accepted theory concerning the electrochemical energy storage mechanism of copper hexacyanoferrate(CuHCF)for supercapacitors is that CuHCF stores charge by the reversible redox processes of Fe^3+/Fe2+couple and Cu cations are electrochemically inactive. In this work,CuHCF nanocubes(CuHCF-NC)were synthesized in the presence of potassium citrate and its electrochemical properties were tentatively studied in 1 mol/L Na2 SO4 aqueous electrolyte.Good supercapacitive performance was exhibited. The combined analyses of cyclic voltammogram(CV)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)disclosed that the CuHCF nanocubes underwent the redox reactions of Fe^3+/Fe2+and Cu^2+/Cu+couples to store charges. The Cu^2+/Cu+redox couple was activated due to the strong coordination interaction between the carboxylate groups of citrate ions and surface Cu cations. | Zhaoxia Song Wei Liu Xiaofei Wei Quan Zhou Hongda Liu Zheng Zhang Guichang Liu Zhongfu Zhao | 2020 | Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,5: | 0
Variable stiffness wires based on magnetorheological liquid metals显示文摘Magnetorheological fluid(MRF)has shown its great potential in the development of large mechanical devices, such as dampers, shock absorbers, rotary brakes, clutches, and prosthetic joints.Recently, more research focus has been invested on using MRF to develop soft, stretchable, and miniaturized devices with variable stiffness for realizing functionalities that cannot be achieved using solid smart materials. Here, based on liquid metal magnetoactive slurries(LMMS),a variable stiffness wire with excellent electrical conductivity is demonstrated.Without exposure to a magnetic field, the LMMS wire has an extremely low stiffness, and can be easily stretched while maintaining an excellent electrical conductivity. When applying a magnetic field, the wire becomes much stiffer and can retain its shape even under a load. The combination of properties of flexibility, high electrical conductivity, and variable stiffness of the wire is harnessed to make a flexible gripper that can grasp objects of various shapes. Moreover,by using gallium instead of its liquid metal alloys, the tunable stiffness range of the LMMS wire is signifi-cantly enhanced and can be controlled using both external magnetic fields and temperature-induced phase change. The presented LMMS wire has the potential to be applied in flexible electronics, soft robotics and so on. | Xiangbo Zhou Jian Shu Hu Jin Hongtai Ren Gang Ma Ning Gong Duan Ge Juan Shi Shi-Yang Tang Guolin Yun Hongda Lu Shuai Dong Xiangpeng Li Shiwu Zhang Weihua Li | 2022 | International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials2022,13,2: | 0
