| 1 | Vegetation cover change and the driving factors over northwest China显示文摘In this paper the spatio-temporal variation of vegetation cover in northwest China during the period of 1982-2006 and its driving factors were analyzed using GIMMS/NDVI data. The annual average NDVI was increased with a rate of 0.0005/a in northwest China and there was an obvious difference between regions. The trend line slopes of NDVI were higher than 0.0005 in the Tianshan Moutains and Altay Mountains of Xinjiang,the Qilian Mountains of Gansu and the eastern part of Qinghai,which indicated the vegetation cover was significantly increased in these areas. The trend line slopes of NDVI were lower than 0.0005 in the southern region of Qinghai,the border regions of Shaanxi and Ningxia,the parts of Gansu and Tarim Basin,Turpan and Tuoli in Xinjiang,which indicated the vegetation cover was declined in these areas. The NDVI of woodland,grassland and cultivated land had an ascending tendency during the study period. The study shows that the vegetation cover change was caused by both natural factors and human activities in northwest China. The natural vegetation change,such as forests was influenced by climate change,while human activities were the main reason to the change of planting vegetation. The changes of vegetation covers for different elevations,slopes and slope aspects were quite different. When the elevation is exceeded to 4,000 m,the NDVI increasing trend was very low;the NDVI at the slope of less than 25° was increased by the ecological construction;the variation of NDVI on sunny slope was stronger than that on shady slope. The temperature rose significantly in recent 25 years in northwest China by an average rate of 0.67oC/10a,and precipitation increased by an average rate of 8.15 mm/10a after 1986. There was positive correlation between vegetation cover and temperature and annual precipitation changes. Rising temperature increased the evaporation and drought of soils,which is not conducive to plant growth,and the irrigation in agricultural areas reduced the correlation between agricultural vegetation NDVI and precipitation. | 2 | Gas desorption characteristics of the high-rank intact coal and fractured coal显示文摘The objective of this work is to study the gas desorption characteristics of the high-rank intact coal and fractured coal.The gas adsorption,mercury porosimetry and gas desorption experiments were carried out in this study.Then,the theories of thermodynamics,diffusion mechanism and desorption kinetics were used to estimate the gas desorption characteristics.The results of gas adsorption experiments show that the initial isosteric adsorption heat of the intact coal is greater than that of the fractured coal,indicating that the gas molecules desorb more easily from fractured coal than intact coal.Using the mercury porosimetry,we find that the diffusion channels of fractured coal are more developed than those of intact coal.The difficult diffusion form dominates in the intact coal during the gas diffusing,while the easy diffusion form dominates in the fractured coal.The results of gas desorption experiments show that the initial gas desorption volume and velocity of the fractured coal are both greater than those of the intact coal.Using the Fick diffusion law,the study calculates the gas diffusion coefficients of the intact coal and fractured coal.The diffusion coefficients of the fractured coal are 2 times and 10 times greater than those of the intact coal at the time of 0-120 and 0-10 min,respectively. | Lu Shouqing Cheng Yuanping Qin Liming Li Wei Zhou Hongxing Guo Haijun | 2015 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2015,25,5: | 15 |
| 3 | Paleomagnetic results of Late Paleozoic rocks from northern Qiangtang Block in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, China显示文摘Tectonic evolution of the Tethys and the boundary between the Gondwanaland and the Eurasia during the Carboniferous and Permian remain hotly debated. Qiangtang region in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau may be a key place to study these problems. A paleomagnetic study was conducted on the Late Paleozoic rocks in the northern Qiangtang region (33.7°N, 86.7°W), Tibet. Two sites (21 samples) in the Upper Carboniferous, eleven sites (101 samples) in the Permian, and two sites (16 samples) in the Lower Triassic were investigated. The rock magnetic data revealed hematite and magnetite as the main magnetic carriers. In stepwise thermal demagnetization and/or combined alternating field (AC) demagnetization, two characteristic components in the majority of the samples were identified as (1) the Low-temperature Component (LTC), characterized by northerly decli- nation and moderate to steep inclination, corresponding to a pole position overlay with the present North Pole. A minority of the samples present single component, and their directions are the same as (2) the High-temperature Component (HTC) of double components. The combined single-component and HTC data of the Permian can pass the R-test at 95% level and the F-test at 99% level, as well as the BC-test. The pole position from the Late Carboniferous is at 31.8°S, 45.7°E with dp=2.1, dm=3.9, that from the Early and Middle (Late) Permian is at 31.7°S, 46.8°E with dp=9.2, dm=16.9 (34.4°N, 54.1°E with dp=6.9, dm=12.5) respectively, and that from the Early Triassic is at 16.9°S, 22.5°E with dp=4.9, dm=9.2. | 5 | Occurrence and bioaccumulation of polybrominated diphenyl ethers in sediments and paddy ecosystems of Liaohe River Basin, northeast China显示文摘Concentrations of 16 polybrominated diphenyl ether(PBDE) congeners were measured in river sediments, paddy soils and three species of paddy-field organisms(crab, loach and carp) collected from the Liaohe River Basin, northeastern China. The total contents of PBDEs(∑_(16)PBDEs) in sediments and paddy soils were in the ranges of 273.4–3246.3 pg/g dry weight(dw), and 192.1–1783.8 pg/g dw, respectively. BDE 209 was the dominant congener both in sediments and paddy soils. The concentrations of ∑_(16)PBDEs in sediments were significantly higher than those in the adjacent paddy soils, indicating a potential transport of PBDEs from river to paddy ecosystems via river water irrigation. The biota–soil accumulation factor(BSAF) was calculated as the ratio between the lipid-normalized concentration in paddyfield organisms and the total organic carbon-normalized concentration in paddy soil. The average BSAF values of ∑15PBDEs followed the sequence of crab(3.6) > loach(3.3) > carp(2.1). BDE 154 had the highest BSAF value, and a parabolic trend between BSAF values of individual PBDE congeners and their log KOWvalues was observed. | 7 | Validation of a HRGC–ECNI/LRMS method to monitor short-chain chlorinated paraffins in human plasma显示文摘Short-chain chlorinated paraffins(SCCPs) are produced in high volume and have the high potential to pose a threat to human health. However, little information is available for SCCP contamination in human blood/plasma/serum, mainly due to the difficulty of sample preparation and quantitative analysis. A method using high resolution gas chromatography coupled with electron capture negative ionization low resolution mass spectrometry(HRGC–ECNI/LRMS) was developed and validated to measure SCCPs in human plasma. The pretreatment process included protein denaturation and lipid elimination, liquid–liquid extraction with a mixture of n-hexane/dichloromethane(1:1, V/V), and cleanup on a multilayer silica column. The blank controls, including procedural blank, vacuum blood collection tube blank, and instrumental blank, were the most pivotal points for the reliable analysis of SCCPs. The average value of procedural blanks was 9.0 ng/g; and the method detection limit(MDL), calculated as the sum of the average procedural blank value and 3 times of the standard deviation of the procedural blanks, was 12.6 ng/g plasma. The validated method was applied to measure the concentrations of the total SCCPs(∑ SCCPs) in50 plasma samples from a general population. | 8 | A Comparative Analysis of the Chloroplast Genomes of Four Salvia Medicinal Plants显示文摘Herbgenomics is an emerging field of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)research and development.By combining TCM research with genomics,herbgenomics can help to establish the scientific validity of TCM and bring it into wider usage within the field of medicine.Salvia Linn.(S.Linn.)is a large genus of Labiatae that includes important medicinal plants.In this herbgenomics study,the complete chloroplast(cp)genomes of two Salvia spp.—namely,S.przewalskii and S.bulleyana,which are used as a surrogate for S.miltiorrhiza—were sequenced and compared with those of two other reported Salvia spp.—namely,S.miltiorrhiza and S.japonica.The genome organization,gene number,type,and repeat sequences were compared.The annotation results showed that both Salvia plants contain 114 unique genes,including 80 protein-coding,30 transfer RNA(tRNA),and four ribosomal RNA(rRNA)genes.Repeat sequence analysis revealed 21 forward and 22 palindromic sequences in both Salvia cp genomes,and 17 and 21 tandem repeats in S.przewalskii and S.bulleyana,respectively.A synteny comparison of the Salvia spp.cp genomes showed a high degree of sequence similarity in the coding regions and a relatively high divergence of the intergenic spacers.Pairwise alignment and single-nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)analyses found some candidate fragments to identify Salvia spp.,such as the intergenic region of the trnV–ndhC,trnQ–rps16,atpI–atpH,psbA–ycf3,ycf1,rpoC2,ndhF,matK,rpoB,rpoA,and accD genes.All of the results—including the repeat sequences and SNP sites,the inverted repeat(IR)region border,and the phylogenetic analysis—showed that S.przewalskii and S.bulleyana are extremely similar from a genetic standpoint.The cp genome sequences of the two Salvia spp.reported here will pave the way for breeding,species identification,phylogenetic evolution,and cp genetic engineering studies of Salvia medicinal plants. | Conglian Liang Lei Wang Juan Lei Baozhong Duan Weisi Ma Shuiming Xiao Haijun Qi Zhen Wang Yaoqi Liu Xiaofeng Shen Shuai Guo Haoyu Hu Jiang Xu Shilin Chen | 2019 | Engineering2019,5,5: | 5 |
| 9 | Composition-dependent micro-structure and photocatalytic performance of g-C_(3)N_(4) quantum dots@SnS2 heterojunction显示文摘Semiconductor combination is one of the most common strategies to obtain high-efficiency photocatalysts;however, the effect mechanism of composition ratio on micro-structure and photocatalytic activity is remaining unclear. In this study, a case of g-C_(3)N_(4) quantum dots@SnS_(2) (CNQDn@SnS_(2)) heterojunction with different ratio of CNQD is used to uncover the origin of optimum and excess composition for photocatalysts. Research on the functional mechanism of the optimum composition shows that 0.8 wt.% CNQD are completely attached to the non-(001) facets of SnS_(2), which benefits the formation of type-II heterojunction, resulting in an optimal pollutant degradation and mineralization efficiency. For the excess composition, both experiments and theoretical calculations confirm that excess CNQD (the part exceeding of 0.8 wt.%) located on the (001) facet of SnS_(2), leading to the type-I band alignment of this heterojunction, which severely restricts the separation of photo-induced charge carriers, and thus reduces their lifetime. This work makes the functional mechanism of composition ratio on micro-structure and photocatalytic activity clearer. | 10 | Distribution control and formation mechanism of gas inclusions in directionally solidified Al2O3-Er3Al5O12-ZrO2 ternary eutectic ceramic by laser floating zone melting显示文摘Distribution control and formation mechanism of gas inclusions formed in directionally solidified Al2O3-Er3Al5O12-ZrO2 eutectic ceramic rods are explored during laser floating zone melting. In atmospheric environment, highly-dense bubble-free eutectic rods are well fabricated at low solidification rate(<25μm/s). Gas inclusions form intermittently when the solidification rate is in the range of 25-50 μm/s,but produce continuously at higher solidification rates(100-200 μm/s). The gas inclusions exhibit an elongated finger-like pattern along the growth direction, which of the maximum value of diameter first increases and then decreases with increasing the solidification rate. Meanwhile, the volume fraction of gas inclusions increased gradually with the solidification rate. | 11 | Oxidative depolymerization of lignin improved by enzymolysis pretreatment with laccase显示文摘A new lignin depolymerization approach for improving the yield of aromatic monomers(YAM) by enzymolysis pretreatment was investigated, in which lignin was pretreated with laccase followed by oxidative depolymerization. It was found that lignin depolymeirzation was enhanced significantly by enzymolysis. The oxidative depolymerization contributed to 21.37% of YAM after the enzymolysis pretreatment,whereas the conventional oxidative depolymerization only gave 14.10% of YAM. The addition of ethanol in enzymatic pretreatment process improved the efficiency of enzymolysis, which effectively improved the solubility of pretreated lignin and depolymerization degree(DD) of lignin. The enzymolysis pretreatment increased the content of syringyl(S) style aromatic monomers, which hindered the recondensation among polymerized products. As lignin has low solubility in acidic aqueous solution, ethanol was added into enzymolysis system to improve the efficiency. | 13 | First experimental constraints on WIMP couplings in the effective field theory framework from CDEX显示文摘We present weakly interacting massive particles(WIMPs) search results performed using two approaches of effective field theory from the China Dark Matter Experiment(CDEX), based on the data from both CDEX-1B and CDEX-10 stages. In the nonrelativistic effective field theory approach, both time-integrated and annual modulation analyses were used to set new limits for the coupling of WIMP-nucleon effective operators at 90% confidence level(C.L.) and improve over the current bounds in the low mχregion. In the chiral effective field theory approach, data from CDEX-10 were used to set an upper limit on WIMP-pion coupling at 90% C.L. | 14 | Numerical simulation of flow and heat transfer of continous cast steel slab under traveling magnetic field显示文摘A unified numerical model for simulating solidification transport phenomena (STP) of steel slab in electromagnetic continuous casting (EMCC) process was developed. In order to solve the multi-physics fields coupled problem conveniently, the complicated bidirectional coupled process between EM and STP was simplified as a unidirectional one, and a FEM/FVM-combined numerical simulation technique was adopted. The traveling magnetic fields (TMFs) applied to the EMCC process were calculated using the ANSYS11.0 software, and then the EM-data output by ANSYS were converted to FVM-format using a data-format conversion program developed previously. Thereafter, the governing equations were solved using a pressure-based Direct-SIMPLE algorithm. The simulation results of the STP in CC-process show that, due to the influences of Lorentz force and Joule heat, the two strong circulating flows and the temperature field can be obviously damped and changed once TMF with one pair of poles (1-POPs) or 2-POPs is applied, which would accordingly improve the quality of casting. It was found in the present research that the integrated actions of 2-POPs TMF are superior to 1-POPs. | 16 | Coupling phase field with creep damage to study γ’evolution and creep deformation of single crystal superalloys显示文摘A phase-field model coupling with elastoplastic de fo rmation and creep damage has been built to study the micro structural evolution and deformation behavior for Ni-Al single crystal alloy during the whole creep processing.The relevant experiments were conducted to verify the model validity.The simulation re sults show that under the tensile creep at 1223 K/100 MPa,cubic γ’phases coarsen along the direction parallel to the axis of tensile stress during the first two creep stages;and spindle-shaped and wavy γ’phases are fo rmed during tertiary creep,similar to the experimental results.The evolution mechanism of γ’phases is analyzed from the perspective of changes of stress and strain fields.The'is land-like'γ phase is observed and its formation mechanism is discussed.With the increase of creep stress,the directional coarsening of γ’phase is accelerated,the steady-state creep rate is increased and the creep life is decreased.The comparison between simulated and experimental creep curves shows that this phase-field model can effectively simulate the performance changes during the first two creep stages and predict the influence of creep stresses on creep properties.Our work provides a potential approach to synchronously simulate the creep microstructure and property of superalloys strengthened by γ’precipitates. | Min Yang Jun Zhang Weimin Gui Songsong Hu Zhuoran Li Min Guo Haijun Su Lin Liu | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,12: | 3 |
| 17 | Residual stress variation in SiC_(f)/SiC composite during heat treatment and its effects on mechanical behavior显示文摘Residual stress originated from thermal expansion mismatch determines the mechanical properties of ceramic matrix composites(CMCs).Here,continuous SiC fiber reinforced SiC matrix(SiC_(f)/SiC)composites were fabricated by nano-infiltration and transient eutectic-phase(NITE)method,and the residual stress of the composites was investigated using high-temperature Raman spectrometer.With temperature increasing from room temperature to 1400℃,the residual stresses of the matrix and the fiber decrease from 1.29 to 0.62 GPa and from 0.84 to 0.55 GPa in compression respectively,while that of the interphase decreases from 0.16 to 0.10 GPa in tension.The variation of residual stress shows little effect on the tensile strength of the composites,while causes a slight decrease in the tensile strain.The suppression of fiber/matrix debonding and fiber pulling-out caused by the residual stress reduction in the interphase is responsible for the decreasing tensile strain.This work can open up new alternatives for residual stress analysis in CMCs. | Xiaowu CHEN Guofeng CHENG Junmin ZHANG Feiyu GUO Haijun ZHOU Chunjin LIAO Hongda WANG Xiangyu ZHANG Shaoming DONG | 2020 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,5: | 3 |

| 20 | Adaptation of Asia-Pacific forests to climate change显示文摘Climate change is a threat to the stability and productivity of forest ecosystems throughout the AsiaPacific region. The loss of forests due to climate-induced stress will have extensive adverse impacts on biodiversity and an array of ecosystem services that are essential for the maintenance of local economies and public health. Despite their importance, there is a lack of decision-support tools required to evaluate the potential effects of climate change on Asia-Pacific ecosystems and economies and to aid in the development of regionally appropriate adaptation and mitigation strategies. The project Adaptation of AsiaPacific Forests to Climate Change, summarized herein,aims to address this lack of knowledge and tools and to provide support for regional managers to develop effective policy to increase the adaptive capacity of Asia-Pacific forest ecosystems. This objective has been achieved through the following activities:(1) development of a highresolution climate downscaling model, Climate AP, applicable to any location in the region;(2) development of climate niche models to evaluate how climate change might affect the distribution of suitable climatic conditions for regionally important tree species;(3) development and application of forest models to assess alternative management strategies in the context of management objectives and the projected impacts of climate change;(4) evaluation of models to assess forest fire risk and the relationship between forest fire and climate change;(5) development of a technique to assess ecosystem carbon storage using Li DAR; and(6) evaluation of how vegetation dynamics respond to climate change using remote sensing technology.
