1Multisite co-allocation scheduling algorithms for parallel jobs in computing grid environments显示文摘Cooperation of multi-domain massively parallel processor systems in com- puting grid environment provides new opportunities for multisite job scheduling. At the same time, in the area of co-allocation, heterogeneity, network adaptability and scalability raise the challenge for the international design of multisite job scheduling models and algorithms. It presents multisite job scheduling schema through the introduction of mul- tisite job scheduling model and the performance model under the grid environment. It introduces two job multisite and cooperative scheduling models and algorithms with the core of the optimal and greedy-heuristic resource selection strategies. 2Simultaneous Curvature and Temperature Sensing Based on a Novel Mach-Zehnder Interferometer显示文摘A novel fiber inline Mach-Zehnder interferometer(MZI)is proposed for simultaneous measurement of curvature and temperature.The sensor composes of single mode-multimode-dispersion compensation-multimode-single mode fiber(MMF-DCF-MMF)structure,using the direct fusion technology.The experimental results show curvature sensitivities of−12.82 nm/m^(−1) and−14.42 nm/m^(−1) in the range of 0−0.65 m^(−1) for two resonant dips,as well as temperature sensitivities of 57.6 pm/and 74.3℃pm/within the range of 20℃℃−150.In addition,℃the sensor has unique advantages of easy fabrication,low cost,high fringe visibility of 24 dB,and high sensitivity,which shows a good application prospect in dual-parameters of sensing of curvature and temperature.Xiaoyan SUN Haifeng DU Xinran DONG Youwang HU Ji’an DUAN 2020Photonic Sensors2020,10,2:4

4High-risk phenotypes of genetic disease in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit population显示文摘To the Editor: Genetic diseases contribute to 35% of deaths during the first year of life and are a significant cause of intensive care.[1] A previous study based on the China Neonatal Genomes Project investigated the genetic causes of early infant deaths and found that >25% of deceased neonates with genetic diagnoses can be cured if diagnosed in time.[2] Therefore, it is crucial to target and diagnose neonates with genetic diseases as early as possible. According to our experience, the typical phenotypes, such as special facial features or multiple congenital anomalies (MCAs), indicate a high risk of genetic disease and lead physicians to perform genetic testing in neonates as early as possible. However, in practice, infants without typical phenotypes typically undergo a long and costly diagnostic process before genetic diagnoses are confirmed. Moreover, a recent survey by the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) and other national professional organizations indicated that there are insufficient numbers of qualified geneticists to fulfil genetic service needs.[3] The ACMG published the general clinical features for genetic testing indications. For example, patients with phenotypes or family history data that strongly implicate a genetic cause may undergo genetic testing.[1] However, the study indicated that many genetic conditions arise de novo or are inherited with no family history.[1] A previous study attempted to apply the non-phenotype-driven panel approach in neonates admitted to the neonate intensive care unit (NICU).[4] However, at present, the diagnostic yield is only 3.45% (1/29).[4] In addition, the economic and ethical issues associated with genomic screening remain challenging. 5Expression, purification of a synthetic fuse-protein-TSF from PF4 and TSP1 fragments and its effect on angio-genesis and tumor growth显示文摘Sequences encoding PF4 (58-70) and TSP1 (429-459) were linked to yield a single gene TSF which encodes the fuse-protein of TSF. The gene was cloned into a pGEX-2T expression vector to generate a protein GST-TSF, which was strongly expressed in E. coli. The purified GST-TSF was degraded with thrombin to generate the protein TSF. With the methods of MTT and wound repair assay, the effects of TSF on the proliferation and migration of EC were detected, respectively. The results showed that TSF significantly suppressed BAEC proliferation and migration in a dose-dependent manner. The fuse protein GST-TSF, and the peptides PF4 (58-70) and TSP1 (429-459) also inhibited BAEC proliferation and migration, respectively, but their inhibition rates were not as high as TSF. Using the CAM assay, it was shown that TSF, GST-TSF, PF4 (58-70) and TSP1 (429-459) inhibited angiogenesis in chick CAM potentially, the effect of TSF was the highest. 6Insight into the triggering effect of(Al,Mg,Ca,Mn)-oxy-sulfide inclusions on localized corrosion of weathering steel显示文摘The surface properties of weathering steel(WS)is very important for its service performance and safety,and the localized corrosion induced by inclusions is closely related to the surface properties of WS and its application.In the current work,a common spherical(Al,Mg,Ca,Mn)-oxy-sulfide inclusion was selected to investigate the corrosion evolution of complex inclusion and its effect on localized corrosion on WS surface.The results indicate the inclusion in WS consists of(Ca,Mn)sulfides part and(Ca,Al,Mg)oxides part with complex core-shell structure.Locally preferential dissolution occurs in(Ca,Mn)sulfides part as well as metal matrix around the inclusions.Furthermore,both parts of the inclusions with poor conductivity and high-density dislocation at metal matrix around the inclusions was found,which suggests that traditional micro-galvanic corrosion cell may not be the cause of inclusion-induced localized corrosion on WS surface at initial stage of corrosion.The variation in maximum and average depth around the inclusion or selected region with immersion time indicates that localized corrosion induced by inclusions is overwhelmed by uniform corrosion of WS in the latter stage of immersion,then the rust formed on WS surface consists of two layers.Pan Liu Qinhao Zhang Xinran Li Jiming Hu Fahe Cao 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,5:2
7Medical student depression and its correlates across three international medical schools显示文摘BACKGROUND Medical students have high rates of depression, anxiety, and burnout that have been found to affect their empathy, professional behaviors, and performance as a physician. While studies have examined predictors for burnout and depression in the United States (US), no study, to our knowledge, has compared depression in medical students cross-culturally, or has attempted to examine the effect of factors influencing rates including burnout, exercise, stress, unmet mental health needs, and region. AIM To examine rates of depression in three international cohorts of medical students, and determine variables that may explain these differences. METHODS Convenience samples of medical students from three countries (US, China, and a Middle Eastern country whose name remains anonymous per request from the school) were surveyed in this observational study. Using the Patient Health Questionnaire-2 (PHQ-2) and a modified Maslach Burnout Inventory, depression and burnout were examined among medical students from the three cohorts (n = 473). Chi-square test and analysis of variance were used to examine differences in demographics, behavioral, and psychological variables across these three schools to identify potentially confounding descriptive characteristics. Analysis of covariance compared depression and the emotional exhaustion component of burnout identified through Principal Component Analysis across countries. Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the impact of demographic, behavioral, and psychological variables on screening positive for depression. RESULTS Medical students from the Middle Eastern country had the highest rates of positive depression screens (41.1%), defined as a PHQ-2 score of ≥ 3, followed by China (14.1 %), and then the US (3.8%). More students in the Middle Eastern school had unmet mental health needs (50.8%) than at the medical school in China (34.8%) or the school in the US (32.8%)(Pearson chi-square significance < 0.05). Thus, PHQ-2 scores were adjusted for unmet mental health needs;however, the Middle Eastern country continued to have the highest depression. Adjusting for PHQ-2 score, medical students from the US scored the highest on emotional exhaustion (a measure of burnout). Demographic variables did not significantly predict medical student depression;however, lack of exercise, unmet mental health needs, stress, and emotional exhaustion predicted nearly half of depression in these cohorts. In comparison to the US, coming from the Middle Eastern country and China predicted higher levels of depression. CONCLUSION Depression rates differ in three international cohorts of medical students. Measured factors contributed to some observed differences. 8RO_(x) Budgets and O_(3) Formation during Summertime at Xianghe Suburban Site in the North China Plain显示文摘Photochemical smog characterized by high concentrations of ozone(O_(3)) is a serious air pollution issue in the North China Plain(NCP)region,especially in summer and autumn.For this study,measurements of O_(3),nitrogen oxides(NO_(x)),volatile organic compounds(VOCs),carbon monoxide(CO),nitrous acid(HONO),and a number of key physical parameters were taken at a suburban site,Xianghe,in the NCP region during the summer of 2018 in order to better understand the photochemical processes leading to O_(3)formation and find an optimal way to control O_(3)pollution.Here,the radical chemistry and O_(3)photochemical budget based on measurement data from 1−23 July using a chemical box model is investigated.The daytime(0600−1800 LST)average production rate of the primary radicals referred to as RO_(x)(OH+HO2+RO2)is 3.9 ppbv h−1.HONO photolysis is the largest primary RO_(x)source(41%).Reaction of NO2+OH is the largest contributor to radical termination(41%),followed by reactions of RO2+NO2(26%).The average diurnal maximum O_(3)production and loss rates are 32.9 ppbv h−1 and 4.3 ppbv h−1,respectively.Sensitivity tests without the HONO constraint lead to decreases in daytime average primary RO_(x)production by 55%and O_(3)photochemical production by 42%,highlighting the importance of accurate HONO measurements when quantifying the RO_(x)budget and O_(3)photochemical production.Considering heterogeneous reactions of trace gases and radicals on aerosols,aerosol uptake of HO2 contributes 11%to RO_(x)sink,and the daytime average O_(3)photochemical production decreases by 14%.The O_(3)-NO_(x)-VOCs sensitivity shows that the O_(3)production at Xianghe during the investigation period is mainly controlled by VOCs.Min XUE Jianzhong MA Guiqian TANG Shengrui TONG Bo HU Xinran ZHANG Xinru LI Yuesi WANG 2021Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2021,38,7:2
9High Sensitive Refractive Index Sensor Based on Cladding Etched Photonic Crystal Fiber Mach-Zehnder Interferometer显示文摘A high sensitive refractive index sensor based on the cladding etched photonic crystal fiber (PCF) Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) is proposed, which is spliced a section of photonic crystal fiber between two single modes fibers (SMFs).The interference fringe of the MZI shifts with the variation of the ambient refractive index (RI). It is found that the RI sensitivity slightly decrease with an increase in the interference length. The sensitivities of MZI with 35inm PCF, 40mm PCF, and 45mm PCF are 106.19nm/RIU, 93.33nm/RIU, and 73.64nm/RIU, respectively, in the range of 13.33 to 1.381. After etched, the RI sensitivity of the MZI could be improved obviously. The RI sensitivities of the MZI with 35 mm PCF are up to 211.53nm/RIU and 359.37nm/RIU when the cladding diameter decreases to 112(im and 91 pm, respectively. Moreover, the sensor is insensitive to temperature, and the measured sensitivity is only 9.21 pm/℃ with the range from 20℃ to 500℃. 11Multidrug dissolvable microneedle patch for the treatment of recurrent oral ulcer显示文摘Recurrent oral ulcer is a painful oral mucosal disorder that affects 20%of the world’s population.The lack of a radical cure due to its unknown underlying cause calls for innovative symptomatic treatments.This work reports a hyaluronic acid-based dissolvablemicroneedle patch(ROUMNpatch,short for recurrent oral ulcer microneedle)loaded with dexamethasone acetate,vitamin C and tetracaine hydrochloride for the treatment of recurrent oral ulcers.The ROUMN patch shows enhancement in both the anti-inflammatory effect elicited by dexamethasone and the pro-proliferation effect of vitamin C.In vitro experiments show that ROUMN has a higher efficiency in suppressing lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced interleukin-6(IL-6)expression than dexamethasone alone.Cell proliferation and migrationwere also significantly promoted byROUMNcompared to vitamin C alone.The healing-promoting effect of ROUMN was also verified in vivo using an acetic acid-cauterized oral ulcer model in rats.ROUMN as a treatment accelerated the healing process of oral ulcers,shortening the total healing time to 5 days compared with the 7 days required by treatment using watermelon frost,a commonly used over-the-counter(OTC)drug for oral ulcers.The rapid dissolution of the hyaluronic acid-based microneedles and the superior healing-promoting effect of the drug combination could lead to a broad application prospect of the ROUMN patch in the treatment of recurrent oral ulcers.Yuqiong Wang An’an Sheng Xinran Jiang Shanshan Yang Long Lin Mingzhu Yang Fengshuo Zhu Yongyan Hu Jian Li Lingqian Chang 2023Bio-Design and Manufacturing2023,6,3:1

13Light-modulated vertical heterojunction phototransistors with distinct logical photocurrents显示文摘The intriguing carrier dynamics in graphene heterojunctions have stimulated great interest in modulating the optoelectronic features to realize high-performance photodetectors.However,for most phototransistors,the photoresponse characteristics are modulated with an electrical gate or a static field.In this paper,we demonstrate a graphene/C_(60)/pentacene vertical phototransistor to tune both the photoresponse time and photocurrent based on light modulation.By exploiting the power-dependent multiple states of the photocurrent,remarkable logical photocurrent switching under infrared light modulation occurs in a thick C_(60) layer(11 nm)device,which implies competition of the photogenerated carriers between graphene/C_(60) and C_(60)/pentacene.Meanwhile,we observe a complete positive-negative alternating process under continuous 405 nm irradiation.Furthermore,infrared light modulation of a thin C_(60)(5 nm)device results in a photoresponsivity improvement from 3425 A/W up to 7673 A/W,and we clearly probe the primary reason for the distinct modulation results between the 5 and 11 nm C_(60) devices.In addition,the tuneable bandwidth of the infrared response from 10 to 3×10^(3) Hz under visible light modulation is explored.Such distinct types of optical modulation phenomena and logical photocurrent inversion characteristics pave the way for future tuneable logical photocurrent switching devices and high-performance phototransistors with vertical graphene heterojunction structures.Jiayue Han Meiyu He Ming Yang Qi Han Fang Wang Fang Zhong Mengjian Xu Qing Li He Zhu Chongxin Shan Weida Hu Xiaoqing Chen Xinran Wang Jun Gou Zhiming Wu Jun Wang 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:1
14Isolation of two atrazine-degrading strains and their degradation characteristics显示文摘To investigate the optimum growth conditions and screen atrazine-degrading strains,two atrazine-degrading strains named Z9 and Z42 were isolated from black earth in a cold area with a long-term application of atrazine by standard enrichment techniques.Z9 utilizes atrazine as both the nitrogen and carbon source whereas Z42 utilizes atrazine as the sole nitrogen source to grow.The atrazine degradation rates of the two strains reached 77.7%and 65.6%,respectively after 14 days culture in a liquid medium with an atrazine concentration of 100 mg/L.Z9 and Z42 were identified as Microbacterium sp.and Arthrobacter sp.The optimum inoculation amount and rotation speed for Z9 and Z42 to grow and degrade atrazine are 3%and 120 r/min respectively.Ying Zhang Zhou Ning Jiang Zhao Peng Xinran Ma Shuyan Hu Miao 2009International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2009,2,3:1

17DNA damage-mediated cellular senescence promotes hand-foot syndrome that can be relieved by thymidine prodrug显示文摘Hand-foot syndrome(HFS)is a widely recognized dose-limiting cutaneous toxicity effect of fluoropyrimidine chemotherapy agents that impairs clinical benefits and treatment outcomes.Even though the cause and pathophysiology of HFS are relatively widely reported,how the toxicity of fluoropyrimidine translates into persistent inflammation has not been studied.Additionally,prevention and treatment strategies for HFS based on its mechanistic occurrence and development are scarce.In our study,we demonstrated that cGAS-STING signaling pathway-mediated cellular senescence played a critical role in the inflammatory reaction and provided a therapeutic solution for HFS.Mechanistically,DNA damage,as the primary cytotoxic cause,in keratinocytes induces cell cycle arrest,activates the cGAS-STING signaling pathway,and subsequently mediates cellular senescence,ultimately fueling a robust secondary inflammatory response that results in HFS.More importantly,the thymidine prodrug thymidine diacetate was proven to be effective in preventing HFS by compensating for thymidylate deficiency to facilitate the replication and repair of DNA and thus causing the escape from cellular senescence.These data highlight the importance of DNA damage-mediated cellular senescence in the etiology of HFS and provide a potential therapeutic anchor point for fluoropyrimidine-induced HFS.Bingxue Yang Xinran Xie Zhaoyu Wu Dazhao Lv Jiajun Hu Yuyun Chen Jiaxing Li Shuyue Luo Jiacheng Li Jie Luo Shiyi Zhang 2023Genes & Diseases2023,10,6:0
18Highly integrated watch for noninvasive continual glucose monitoring显示文摘This article reports a highly integrated watch for noninvasive continual blood glucose monitoring.The watch employs a Nafion-coated flexible electrochemical sensor patch fixed on the watchband to obtain interstitial fluid(ISF)transdermally at the wrist.This reverse iontophoresis-based extraction method eliminates the pain and inconvenience that traditional fingerstick blood tests pose in diabetic patients’lives,making continual blood glucose monitoring practical and easy.All electronic modules,including a rechargeable power source and other modules for signal processing and wireless transmission,are integrated onto a watch face-sized printed circuit board(PCB),enabling comfortable wearing of this continual glucose monitor.Real-time blood glucose levels are displayed on the LED screen of the watch and can also be checked with the smartphone user interface.With 23 volunteers,the watch demonstrated 84.34%clinical accuracy in the Clarke error grid analysis(zones A+B).In the near future,commercial products could be developed based on this lab-made prototype to provide the public with noninvasive continual glucose monitoring.Tianrui Chang Hu Li Nianrong Zhang Xinran Jiang Xinge Yu Qingde Yang Zhiyuan Jin Hua Meng Lingqian Chang 2022Microsystems & Nanoengineering2022,8,1:0
19Micro-seismic Event Detection of Hot Dry Rock based on the Gated Recurrent Unit Model and a Support Vector Machine显示文摘Micro-seismic monitoring is one of the most critical technologies that guide hydraulic fracturing in hot dry rock resource development. Micro-seismic monitoring requires high precision detection of micro-seismic events with a low signal-to-noise ratio. Because of this requirement, we propose a recurrent neural network model named gated recurrent unit and support vector machine(GRU;VM). The proposed model ensures high accuracy while reducing the parameter number and hardware requirement in the training process. Since micro-seismic events in hot dry rock produce large wave amplitudes and strong vibrations, it is difficult to reverse the onset of each individual event. In this study, we utilize a support vector machine(SVM) as a classifier to improve the micro-seismic event detection accuracy. To validate the methodology, we compare the simulation results of the short-term-average to the long-term-average(STA/LTA) method with GRU;VM method by using hot dry rock micro-seismic event data in Qinghai Province, China. Our proposed method has an accuracy of about 95% for identifying micro-seismic events with low signal-to-noise ratios. 20Profiling the Bisecting N-acetylglucosamine Modification in Amniotic Membrane via Mass Spectrometry显示文摘Bisecting N-acetylglucosamine(GlcNAc),a GlcNAc linked to the coreβ-mannose residue via aβ1,4 linkage,is a special type of N-glycosylation that has been reported to be involved in various biological processes,such as cell adhesion and fetal development.This N-glycan structure is abundant in human trophoblasts,which is postulated to be resistant to natural killer cellmediated cytotoxicity,enabling a mother to nourish a fetus without rejection.In this study,we hypothesized that the human amniotic membrane,which serves as the last barrier for the fetus,may also express bisected-type glycans.To test this hypothesis,glycomic analysis of the human amniotic membrane was performed,and bisected N-glycans were detected.Furthermore,our proteomic data,which have been previously employed to explore human missing proteins,were analyzed and the presence of bisecting GlcNAc-modified peptides was confirmed.A total of 41glycoproteins with 43 glycopeptides were found to possess a bisecting GlcNAc,and 25 of these glycoproteins were reported to exhibit this type of modification for the first time.These results provide insights into the potential roles of bisecting GlcNAc modification in the human amniotic membrane,and can be beneficial to functional studies on glycoproteins with bisecting GlcNAc modifications and functional studies on immune suppression in human placenta.Qiushi Chen Yuanliang Zhang Keren Zhang Jie Liu Huozhen Pan Xinran Wang Siqi Li Dandan Hu Zhilong Lin Yun Zhao Guixue Hou Feng Guan Hong Li Siqi Liu Yan Ren 2022Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2022,20,4:0
