| 3 | Nano-needle strontium-substituted apatite coating enhances osteoporotic osseointegration through promoting osteogenesis and inhibiting osteoclastogenesis显示文摘Implant loosening remains a major clinical challenge for osteoporotic patients.This is because osteoclastic bone resorption rate is higher than osteoblastic bone formation rate in the case of osteoporosis,which results in poor bone repair.Strontium(Sr)has been widely accepted as an anti-osteoporosis element.In this study,we fabricated a series of apatite and Sr-substituted apatite coatings via electrochemical deposition under different acidic conditions.The results showed that Ca and Sr exhibited different mineralization behaviors.The main mineralization products for Ca were CaHPO4⋅2H2O and Ca3(PO4)2 with the structure changed from porous to spherical as the pH values increased.The main mineralization products for Sr were SrHPO4 and Sr5(PO4)3OH with the structure changed from flake to needle as the pH values increased.The in vitro experiment demonstrated that coatings fabricated at high pH condition with the presence of Sr were favorable to MSCs adhesion,spreading,proliferation,and osteogenic differentiation.In addition,Sr-substituted apatite coatings could evidently inhibit osteoclast differentiation and fusion.Moreover,the in vivo study indicated that nano-needle like Sr-substituted apatite coating could suppress osteoclastic activity,improve new bone formation,and enhance bone-implant integration.This study provided a new theoretical guidance for implant coating design and the fabricated Sr-substituted coating might have potential applications for osteoporotic patients. | Zhen Geng Luli Ji Zhaoyang Li Jing Wang Hongyan He Zhenduo Cui Xianjin Yang Changsheng Liu | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,4: | 4 |
| 4 | Corrosion Behavior and Protection Efficiency of 2024Al and SiC_p/2024Al Metal Matrix Composite显示文摘The corrosion resistance of 2024 Al and SiC particle reinforced 2024 Al metal matrix composite (SiCp/2024Al MMC)in 3.5% NaCl solution was investigated with electrochemical method and immersion test, and the corrosion protection of sulfuric acid anodized coatings on both materials was evaluated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The results showed that the SiCp/2024Al MMC is more susceptible to corrosion than its matrix alloy in 3.5% NaCl.For 2024Al, the anodized coating provides excellent corrosion resistance to 3.5% NaCl. | 6 | Selective potassium uptake via biocompatible zeolite–polymer hybrid microbeads as promising binders for hyperkalemia显示文摘Patients with chronic kidney disease are at high risk of hyperkalemia that is associated with various lifethreatening complications.Treatments primarily rely on orally administered potassium binding agents,along with low curative effects and various side effects.Herein,direct serum potassium uptake was realized via zeolite–heparin-mimicking-polymer hybrid microbeads.The preparation process involved the synthesis of the heparin-mimicking polymer via the in situ cross-linking polymerization of acrylic acid and N-vinylpyrrolidone in polyethersulfone solution,the fabrication of microbeads via zeolite-mixing,electro-spraying and phase-inversion,and the subsequent aqueous-phase modifications based on ion-exchange and metal-leaching.An ultra-high(about 88%)amount of zeolite could be incorporated and well locked inside the polymer matrix.Potassium uptake capability was verified in water,normal saline and human serum,showing high selectivity and fast adsorption.The microbeads exhibited satisfying blood compatibility,negligible hemolysis ratio,prolonged clotting time,inhibited contact activation,and enhanced antifouling property toward serum proteins and cells.The proposed approach toward zeolite–heparin-mimicking-polymer hybrid microbeads provided a cheap,efficient and safe treatment protocol of hyperkalemia for the high-risk patients. | Zhoujun Wang Wei Sun Zhiwei Wei Jianxu Bao Xin Song Yupei Li Haifeng Ji Jue Zhang Chao He Baihai Su Weifeng Zhao Changsheng Zhao | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,2: | 2 |

| 9 | The Temporal Relation between Cardiomyopathy and LBBB and Response to Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy:Case Series and Literature Review显示文摘Background:Left bundle branch block(LBBB)-induced cardiomyopathy has been proposed,but the association between LBBB and cardiac resynchronization therapy(CRT)response remains unclear and practical criteria for selecting CRT candidates are needed.Methods:One hundred and seventeen consecutive heart failure patients were reviewed,24 of whom received CRT.Only two patients had a clear temporal relation between cardiomyopathy and LBBB.Results:Compared with the patient with“cardiomyopathy-induced LBBB,”the patient with“LBBB-induced cardiomyopathy”had higher left ventricular(LV)wall thickness,higher LV wall thickening rate,higher peak circumferential strain,and longer peak circumferential strain delay.The LV deformation patterns in the two patients were obviously distinct on cardiovascular magnetic resonance tissue tracking.During follow-up,the patient with LBBB-induced cardiomyopathy had a good response to CRT(LV ejection fraction 23 before CRT vs.30%at 6 months vs.29 at 12 months vs.32%at 18 months;LV end-diastolic diameter 77 mm before CRT vs.66 mm at 6 months vs.62 mm at 12 months vs.63 mm at 18 months),and the other patient had no response to CRT(LV ejection fraction 29 before CRT vs.29%at 6 months vs.26 at 12 months vs.22%at 24 months;LV end-diastolic diameter 85 mm before CRT vs.88 mm at 6 months vs.85 mm at 12 months vs.84 mm at 24 months).Conclusion:The temporal relation between cardiomyopathy and LBBB could be a determinant for CRT response.Cardiovascular magnetic resonance tissue tracking may be a useful tool to identify the chronological order and a principal consideration for selecting candidates for CRT.Larger prospective clinical trials are needed to study the prevalence of,time course of,and risk factors for LBBB-induced cardiomyopathy. | Sanshuai Chang Yi He Hui Wang Fei Guo Qiang Lv Junping Kang Rong Bai Xiaohui Liu Xin Du Changsheng Ma Jianzeng Dong | 2020 | Cardiovascular Innovations and Applications2020,,1: | 1 |
| 10 | Context-aware local abnormality detection in crowded scene显示文摘In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm by jointly modeling motion and context information targeting at detecting abnormal events in crowded scenes. In our algorithm, context pattern information,extracted through volume local binary patterns computation on three orthogonal planes(LBP-TOP) between local target areas with surrounding areas, is explicitly taken into consideration for localizing abnormality. To capture motion information, a novel feature descriptor named Multi-scale Histogram of Frequency Coefficient is explored by taking Fourier Transform on the extracted dense trajectories. | 12 | Geochemistry and environmental effect of cadmium in the super-large Jinding Pb-Zn deposit,Yunnan Province, China显示文摘The Jinding Pb-Zn deposit in Yunnan Province is the representative of a Cd-enriched area and mining activities lead to the release of Cd into the hypergenic ecosystem, resulting in Cd pollution. The concentrations of Cd vary greatly from one type to another type of rocks in the mining district. In the host rock, Cd concentrations range from 50×10-6 to 650×10-6 with an average of 310×10-6. In primary ores, Cd concentrations range from 14×10-6 to 2800×10-6 with an average of 767×10-6. However, in oxidized ores, Cd concentrations are highest, varying within the range of 110×10-6 to 8200×10-6 , averaging 1661×10-6. It is shown that the oxidized ores are the main carrier and environmental source of Cd. Leaching test showed that Pb/Zn ores are easy to oxidize and thereafter release Cd and other harmful elements. These leached elements in the leachate may be precipitated rapidly in the order of Zn>Pb>Cd. As for the concentration distribution of Cd in the Bijiang River, it is estimated to be 15.7 μg/L Cd in water, 49.3 mg/L in suspended substances, and 203.7 mg/L in sediments. The average value of Cd in soil from the polluted area is 83.0 mg/kg. | 19 | The Study of Nerve Conduit with Biocompatibility and Electrical Stimulation Effect显示文摘Conductive polymers show great promise because of their electrical property based on bioelectricity in vivo. In order to search electro-activity materials which insure abduction of tissue, we synthesized conductive nerve conduits with poly-dl-lactic-acid(PDLLA) and tetra-aniline(TA). Preparation technology of TA was optimized, and the properties of the conduit were studied. RSC96 cell were used to investigate the toxicity and electrical stimulation effect. SD rats were used to assess biocompatibility in vivo. The results showed that the reaction ratio of 1:1, the reaction time of 2 h and the HCl concentration of 2 mol/L were the optimum conditions for synthesis of TA. The influence of TA content on the mechanical properties, hydrophilicity, conductivity and microstructure of the nerve conduit was evaluated. Cell and histocompatibility study showed PDLLA/TA possessed good biocompatibility.
