1Population Genomic Analysis and De Novo Assembly Reveal the Origin of Weedy Rice as an Evolutionary Game显示文摘Crop weediness,especially that of weedy rice(Oryza sativa f.spontanea),remains mysterious.Weedy rice possesses robust ecological adaptability;however,how this strain originated and gradually formed proprietary genetic features remains unclear?Here,we demonstrate that weedy rice at Asian high latitudes(WRAH)is phylogenetically well defined and possesses unselected genomic characteristics in many divergence regions between weedy and cultivated rice.We also identified novel quantitative trait loci underlying weedy-specific traits,and revealed that a genome block on the end of chromosome 1 is associated with rice weediness.To identify the genomic modifications underlying weedy rice evolution,we generated the first de novo assembly of a high-quality weedy rice genome(WR04-6),and conducted a comparative genomics study between WR04-6 with other rice reference genomes.Multiple lines of evidence,including the results of demographic scenario comparisons,suggest that differentiation between weedy rice and cultivated rice was initiated by genetic improvement of cultivated rice and that the essence of weediness arose through semi-domestication.A plant height model further implied that the origin of WRAH can be modeled as an evolutionary game and indicated that strategy-based selection driven by fitness shaped its genomic diversity.Jian Sun Dianrong Ma Liang Tang Minghui Zhao Guangchen Zhangh Wenjia Wang Jiayu Song Xiang Li Zimeng Liu Wenxing Zhang Quan Xu Yuncheng Zhou Jianzhong Wu Toshio Yamamoto Fei Dai Yan Lei Song Li Gang Zhou Hongkun Zheng Zhengjin Xu Wenfu Chen 2019Molecular Plant2019,12,5:9
2Efficient alloy design of Sr-modified A356 alloys driven by computational thermodynamics and machine learning显示文摘A356 alloys are widely used in industries due to their excellent comprehensive performance.Sr is usually added in A356 alloys to improve their mechanical properties.There have been various experimental reports on the optimal additional amount of Sr in A356 alloys,but their results are inevitably inconsistent.In this paper,a combination of computational thermodynamic and machine learning approaches was employed to determine the optimal Sr content in A356 alloys with the best mechanical properties.First,a self-consistent thermodynamic database of quaternary Al-Si-Mg-Sr system was established by means of the Calculation of PHAse Diagram technique supported by key experiments.Second,the fractions for solidified phase/structures of A356-xSr alloys predicted by Scheil simulation,together with the measured mechanical properties were set as the input dataset in the machine learning model to train the relation of“composition-microstructure-properties”.The optimal addition of Sr in A356 alloy was designed as 0.005 wt.%and validated by key experiments.Furthermore,such a combinatorial approach can help to understand the strengthening/toughening mechanisms of Sr-modified A356 alloys.It is also anticipated that the present approach may provide a feasible means for efficient and accurate design of various casting alloys and understanding the alloy strengthening/toughening mechanisms.Wang Yi Guangchen Liu Zhao Lu Jianbao Gao Lijun Zhang 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,17:3

4MODEL STUDY OF DREDGED CHANNEL SILTATION IN OFFSHORE OPEN WATER显示文摘Based on the model study, the siltation of dredged channel under the condition of clear water and sediment-water mixture in Lianyun Harbor, Jiangsu Province and the experimental method under complex hydrodynamic elements such as tides, winds, waves and tidal currents are studied. The regularities of the variation of the velocity in the dredged channel in clear water are discussed as well. A group of curves such as water depth, velocity and angle has been plotted as a guide to the selection of a proper direction for a dredged channel. 6MicroRNA-708 inhibits the proliferation and chemoresistance of pancreatic cancer cells显示文摘Pancreatic cancer is one of the most aggressive malignancies with poor prognosis and high mortality.Recent studies showed that microRNAs are dysregulated and involved in the initiation and progression of pancreatic cancer.In this study,we found that miR-708 was significantly downregulated in pancreatic cancer tissues and cell lines.Lentivirus-mediated overexpression of miR-708 could significantly inhibit the proliferation and invasion,while enhanced chemosensitivity to gemcitabine in both Panc-1 and SW1990 cells.Luciferase reporter assay showed that miR-708 bound the 3’-untranslated region of survivin and suppressed the expression of survivin in pancreatic cancer cells.In pancreatic cancer tissues,survivin protein was highly expressed and negatively correlated with miR-708 expression.Furthermore,the restoration of survivin expression could partially antagonize proliferation inhibition and apoptosis induction by miR-708 in pancreatic cancer cells.The Panc-1 cells with overexpression of miR-708 also showed decreased proliferation capability in nude mouse model compared with parental cells.In conclusion,our results suggest that miR-708 inhibits pancreatic cancer and could be a novel potential candidate to treat pancreatic cancer.Wensong LIU Yunjie LU Dong ZHANG Longqing SHI Guangchen ZU Haijiao YAN Donglin SUN 2020BIOCELL2020,44,1:1

8Classifying Globular Clusters and Applying them to Estimate the mass of the Milky Way显示文摘We combine the kinematics of 159 globular clusters(GCs) provided by the Gaia Early Data Release 3(EDR3) with other observational data to classify the GCs,and to estimate the mass of the Milky Way(MW).We use the agemetallicity relation,integrals of motion,action space and the GC orbits to identify the GCs as either formed in situ(Bulge and Disk) or ex situ(via accretion).We find that 45.3% have formed in situ,while 38.4% may be related to known merger events:Gaia-Sausage-Enceladus,the Sagittarius dwarf galaxy,the Helmi streams,the Sequoia galaxy and the Kraken galaxy.We also further identify three new sub-structures associated with the Gaia-Sausage-Enceladus.The remaining 16.3% of GCs are unrelated to the known mergers and thought to be from small accretion events.We select 46 GCs which have radii 8.0 GuangChen Sun Yougang Wang Chao Liu Richard J.Long Xuelei Chen Qi Gao 2023Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2023,23,1:0
9Effect of Ca Addition and Heat Treatment on the A390(S)/AM60(L) Interface Microstructure显示文摘Overcasting is a new kind of dissimilar joining technique used to produce the aluminum(solid)/magnesium(liquid) bonding bi-metallic material in this study. For the Al/Mg(A390/AM60) bi-metallic samples, the interface microstructures are the research points, which directly influence the mechanical properties. It is, therefore, of vital importance to find a method to improve the interface microstructures. This research focused on the effect of the calcium(Ca) addition in the liquid Mg alloys and the heat treatment on the A390/AM60 interface microstructures of the bi-metallic samples. The testing results showed that, with Ca addition in AM60, owing to two possible reasons, the interface microstructure and the shear strength of the A390/AM60 bi-metallic samples could be improved.
