| 1 | Effects of environment lighting on the growth,photosynthesis,and quality of hydroponic lettuce in a plant factory显示文摘Leafy vegetable production under controlled environment using artificial lighting has many advantages over conventional greenhouses and open-field production.However,high initial investment and operation costs are restricting the wide application of this technology.In order to design an optimal artificial lighting environment for lettuce production,effects of different combinations of light intensity,photoperiod,and light quality on growth,quality,photosynthesis,and energy use efficiency of lettuce(Lactuca sativa L.cv Ziwei)were investigated under a closed plant factory.Lettuce transplants were grown under photosynthetic photon flux density(PPFD)at 150μmol/m^(2)·s,200μmol/m^(2)·s,250μmol/m^(2)·s,and 300μmol/m^(2)·s provided by fluorescent lamps(FL)with a red to blue ratio(R:B ratio)of 1.8 and light-emitting diode(LED)lamps with R:B ratio of 1.2 and 2.2,in combination with photoperiod of 12 and 16 h/d.In order to examine the“long term”photosynthetic characteristics,net photosynthetic rates of hydroponic lettuce leaves were continuously measured for 2 d(15^(th) and 16^(th) day after transplanting)before harvest.There was no difference in leaf fresh weight(FW)between PPFD of 250μmol/m^(2)·s and 300μmol/m^(2)·s with photoperiod of 16 h/d,regardless of light quality,and same results showed in contents of nitrate,soluble sugar,and vitamin C,respectively.The results of continuous measurements of net photosynthetic rate of lettuce leaves before harvest indicated that plants grown at PPFD of 250μmol/m^(2)·s had consistently higher compared to those grown at PPFD of 300μmol/m^(2)·s.Combining the results from growth,photosynthesis,quality,and energy consumption,it can be concluded that PPFD at 250μmol/m^(2)·s with photoperiod of 16 h/d under LED with R:B ratio of 2.2 is a suitable light environment for maximum growth and high quality of commercial lettuce(cv.Ziwei)production under indoor controlled environment. | Xin Zhang Dongxian He Genhua Niu Zhengnan Yan Jinxiu Song | 2018 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,2: | 8 |
| 2 | miR-20b suppresses mitochondrial dysfunction-mediated apoptosis to alleviate hyperoxia-induced acute lung injury by directly targeting MFN1 and MFN2显示文摘Supplemental oxygen is commonly used to treat severe respiratory failure, while prolonged exposure to hyperoxia can induce acute lung injury characterized by the accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and pulmonary inflammation. Dysregulation of microRNAs contributes to multiple diseases, including hyperoxia-induced acute lung injury (HALI). In this study, we explored the roles of miR-20b in mediating the response of type II alveolar epithelial cells (ACE IIs) to hyperoxia and the potential underlying mechanisms. We found that miR-20b was significantly decreased in the lung tissues of HALI models and H2O2-treated ACE IIs. Hyperoxia induced the release of TNF-α, decreased the mitochondrial membrane potential, and led to excessive ROS production and cell apoptosis. Overexpression of miR-20b suppressed the hyperoxia-induced biological effects in ACE IIs. miR-20b negatively regulated the expression levels of Mitofusin 1 (MFN1) and MFN2, the two key proteins of mitochondrial fusion, via complementarily binding to the 3ʹ-untranslated regions of mRNAs. Furthermore, both in vivo and in vitro, upregulation of MFN1 and MFN2 aggravated lung damage and cell apoptosis that were alleviated by miR-20b overexpression. | 3 | Contact theory显示文摘Contacts between two general blocks are the fundamental problem for discontinuous analysis. There are different contact points in different block positions, and there may have infinite contact point pairs in the same block position. In this paper, a new concept of an entrance block for solving the contacts between two general blocks is introduced. The boundary of an entrance block is a contact cover system. Contact covers may consist of contact vectors, edges, angles or polygons. Each contact cover defines a contact point and all closed-contact points define the movements, rotations and deformations of all blocks as in real cases. Given a reference point, the concept of entrance block simplifies the contact computation in the following ways.(1) The shortest distance between two blocks can be computed by the shortest distance between the reference point and the surface of the entrance block.(2) As the reference point outside the entrance block moves onto the surface of entrance block, the first entrance takes place. This first entrance point on the entrance block surface defines the contact points and related contact locations.(3) If the reference point is already inside the entrance block, it will exit the entrance block along the shortest path. The corresponding shortest exit point on the entrance block surface defines the contact points and related contact locations. All blocks and angles here are defined by inequality equations. Algebraic operations on blocks and angles are described here. | 4 | Influence of Range Gate Width on Detection Probability and Ranging Accuracy of Single Photon Laser Altimetry Satellite显示文摘The influence of the single photon laser altimeter range-gate width on the detection probability and ranging accuracy is discussed and analyzed,according to the LiDAR equation,single photon detection equation and the Monte Carlo method to simulate the experiment.The simulated results show that the probability of detection is not affected by the range gate,while the probability of false alarm is relative to the gate width.When the gate width is 100 ns,the ranging accuracy can accord with the requirements of satellite laser altimeter.But when the range gate width exceeds 400 ns,ranging accuracy will decline sharply.The noise ratio will be more as long as the range gate to get larger,so the refined filtering algorithm during the data processing is important to extract the useful photons effectively.In order to ensure repeated observation of the same point for 25 times,we deduce the quantitative relation between the footprint size,footprint,and frequency repetition according to the parameters of ICESat-2.The related conclusions can provide some references for the design and the development of the domestic single photon laser altimetry satellite. | Guoyuan LI Fanghong YE Xinming TANG Dongping XIE Jiapeng HUANG Genhua HUANG | 2020 | Journal of Geodesy and Geoinformation Science2020,3,2: | 4 |
| 5 | Heritability of growth traits in the Asian seabass (Lates calcarifer)显示文摘Growth is an economically important trait in aquaculture.To improve growth trait of the Asian seabass(Lates calcarifer)we have been carrying out,since 2004,a selective breeding program.This study focuses on growth traits in the F2 fish generation,comprised of offspring from 23 mass crosses from 383 F_(1) brooders.Using genotyping analysis for 10 microsatellites from both brood stock and progeny we have reconstructed the pedigree of each mass-cross.For F_(2) generation at 90 days post hatch(dph),we have recorded body weight(BW)for 12,117 individuals and total length(TL),standard length(SL)and condition factor(K_(tl) and K_(sl))for 3530 individuals;and all five traits for 2136 individuals at 270 dph.At 90 dph the average BW was 46.88±20.95 g.Combining pedigree information,recorded growth traits and Restricted Maximum Likelihood method,we have estimated that the narrow sense heritability(h^(2))in F_(1) fish for BW,TL,SL,K_(tl) and K_(sl) was at,90 dph,0.12±0.03,0.11±0.03,0.10±0.03,0.20±0.04 and 0.11±0.03,respectively and,at 270 dph,0.34±0.07,0.32±0.07,0.30±0.06,0.13±0.04 and 0.11±0.04,respectively.At 90 dph the realised heritability for BW was 0.13.Comparing with F_(1) generation,the growth performance of F_(2) fish was increased by 14.4%.Heritability of growth traits will be useful for future genetic improvement programmes of the Asian seabass. | Baoqing Ye Ziyi Wan Le Wang Hongyan Pang Yanfei Wen Huiming Liu Bing Liang Huan Sein Lim Junhui Jiang Genhua Yue | 2017 | Aquaculture and Fisheries2017,2,3: | 4 |

| 7 | Growth,nutritional quality,and energy use efficiency in two lettuce cultivars as influenced by white plus red versus red plus blue LEDs显示文摘Red plus blue light-emitting diodes(LEDs)are commonly applied in plant factories with artificial lighting due to photosynthetic pigments,which absorb strongly in red and blue light regions of the spectrum.However,plants grown under natural environment are used to utilizing broad-wide spectrum by long-term evolution.In order to examine the effects of addition light added in red plus blue LEDs or white LEDs,green and purple leaf lettuces(Lactuca sativa L.cv.Lvdie and Ziya)were hydroponically cultivated for 20 days under white LEDs,white plus red LEDs,red plus blue LEDs,and red plus blue LEDs supplemented with ultraviolet,green or far-red light,respectively.The results indicated that the addition of far-red light in red plus blue LEDs increased leaf fresh and dry weights of green leaf lettuce by 28%and 34%,respectively.Addition of ultraviolet light did not induce any differences in growth and energy use efficiency in both lettuce cultivars,while supplementing green light with red plus blue LEDs reduced the vitamin C content of green leaf lettuce by 44%and anthocyanin content of purple leaf lettuce by 30%compared with red plus blue LEDs,respectively.Spectral absorbencies of purple leaf lettuce grown under red plus blue LEDs supplemented with green light were lower in green light region compared with those grown under red plus blue LEDs,which was associated with anthocyanin contents.White plus red LEDs significantly increased leaf fresh and dry weights of purple leaf lettuce by 25%,and no significant differences were observed in vitamin C and nitrate contents compared with white LEDs.Fresh weight,light and electrical energy use efficiencies of hydroponic green and purple leaf lettuces grown under white plus red LEDs were higher or no significant differences compared with those grown under red plus blue LEDs.In conclusion,white plus red LEDs were suggested to substitute for red plus blue LEDs in hydroponic lettuce(cv.Lvdie and Ziya)production in plant factories with artificial lighting. | Zhengnan Yan Dongxian He Genhua Niu Qing Zhou Yinghua Qu | 2020 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2020,13,2: | 4 |
| 8 | Isolation and characterization of polymorphic microsatellite loci in large yellow croaker, Larimichthys crocea显示文摘An (AC)n-microsatellite-enriched library for Larimichthys crocea was constructed in this study. Primers for fifty simple sequence repeat (SSR) loci were synthesized and genotyped on 30 L. crocea individuals from Guanjingyang wild population (WP) in Fujian Province and 38 individuals from Ningbo cultured population (CP) in Zhejiang Province. Only 21 loci were successfully amplified and polymorphic in two populations. In WP, the observed heterozygosity (H_O ) ranged from 0.233 to 0.900 and the expected heterozygosity (H_E ) ranged from 0.326 to 0.893, with an average of 7.8 alleles/locus, the polymorphism information content (PIC) ranged from 0.283 to 0.866 (mean 0.731). In CP, the H O ranged from 0.189 to 0.892 and the H E ranged from 0.333 to 0.800, with an average of 4.4 alleles/locus. The probability test showed significant departures from HWE in 9 and 2 of the 21 loci in WP and in CP, respectively. Deficiency of heterozygotes at four loci showed the presence of null alleles (P <0.01). The PIC of 20 microsatellite loci in WP were greater than 0.50. | 9 | Effects of short light/dark cycles on photosynthetic pathway switching and growth of medicinal Dendrobium officinale in aeroponic cultivation显示文摘Dendrobium officinale has high medicinal value but grows slowly in natural environment due to its special CAM photosynthetic pathway.In this study,D.officinale were grown aeroponically with light/dark cycles of 12 h/12 h,4 h/4 h,and 2 h/2 h for 150 d.The photosynthetic electron transfer characteristics,photosynthetic CO_(2) fixation pathways,and accumulations of biomass and soluble polysaccharides in D.officinale leaves were studied.The results showed that the photosynthetic apparatus states of D.officinale in aeroponic cultivation under short light/dark cycles of 4 h/4 h and 2 h/2 h were better than that under 12 h/12 h.The dark net CO_(2) exchange percentages of D.officinale were negative in short light/dark cycles of 4 h/4 h and 2 h/2 h,and the daily net CO_(2) exchange amount and dry/fresh weight increases were doubled compared with those in 12 h/12 h light/dark cycle.High soluble polysaccharides content and the soluble polysaccharides yield of D.officinale were obtained in the shorter light/dark cycle of 2 h/2 h.Therefore,the photosynthetic pathway of D.officinale could be switched from CAM to C3 by short light/dark cycles of 4 h/4 h and 2 h/2 h,and its higher biomass accumulation and soluble polysaccharides yield could be obtained by the shorter light/dark cycle of 2 h/2 h in aeroponic cultivation. | Yongsan Cheng Dongxian He Jie He Genhua Niu Fang Ji | 2019 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,5: | 2 |
