1Regeneration of commercial selective catalyst reduction catalysts deactivated by Pb and other inorganic elements显示文摘The regeneration of commercial SCR(Selective Catalyst Reduction) catalysts deactivated by Pb and other elements was studied.The deactivated catalyst samples were prepared by chemical impregnation with mixed solution containing K_2SO_4,Na_2SO_4,CaSO_4,Pb(NO_3)_2and NH_4H_2PO_4.A novel method combining Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium salt(EDTA-2Na) and H_2SO_4solution(viz.catalysts treated by dilute EDTA-2Na and H_2SO_4 solution in sequence) was used to recover the activity of deactivated samples,and the effect was compared with single H_2SO_4,oxalic acid,acetic acid,EDTA or HNO_3 solutions.The surface structure,acidity and reducibility of samples were characterized by N_2adsorption–desorption,inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer(ICP-OES),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),X-ray fluorescence(XRF),H-2-temperature programmed section(H_2-TPR),NH3-temperature programmed desorption(NH3-TPD) and in situ DRIFTS.Impurities caused a decrease of specific surface area and surface reducibility,as well as Br?nsted acid sites,and therefore led to severe deactivation of the SCR catalyst.The use of an acid solution alone possibly eliminated the impurities on the deactivated catalyst to some extent,and also increased the specific surface area and Br?nsted acid sites and promoted the surface reducibility,thus recovered the activity partially.The combination of EDTA-2Na and H_2SO_4 could remove most of the impurities and improve the activity significantly.The removal of Pb should be an important factor for regeneration.Due to a high removal rate for Pb and other impurities,the combination of EDTA-2Na and H_2SO_4 solutions provided the best efficiency.Yanke Yu Jinxiu Wang Jinsheng Chen Xinjiang He Yujing Wang Kai Song Zongli Xie 2016Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,9:11
2Effects of environment lighting on the growth,photosynthesis,and quality of hydroponic lettuce in a plant factory显示文摘Leafy vegetable production under controlled environment using artificial lighting has many advantages over conventional greenhouses and open-field production.However,high initial investment and operation costs are restricting the wide application of this technology.In order to design an optimal artificial lighting environment for lettuce production,effects of different combinations of light intensity,photoperiod,and light quality on growth,quality,photosynthesis,and energy use efficiency of lettuce(Lactuca sativa L.cv Ziwei)were investigated under a closed plant factory.Lettuce transplants were grown under photosynthetic photon flux density(PPFD)at 150μmol/m^(2)·s,200μmol/m^(2)·s,250μmol/m^(2)·s,and 300μmol/m^(2)·s provided by fluorescent lamps(FL)with a red to blue ratio(R:B ratio)of 1.8 and light-emitting diode(LED)lamps with R:B ratio of 1.2 and 2.2,in combination with photoperiod of 12 and 16 h/d.In order to examine the“long term”photosynthetic characteristics,net photosynthetic rates of hydroponic lettuce leaves were continuously measured for 2 d(15^(th) and 16^(th) day after transplanting)before harvest.There was no difference in leaf fresh weight(FW)between PPFD of 250μmol/m^(2)·s and 300μmol/m^(2)·s with photoperiod of 16 h/d,regardless of light quality,and same results showed in contents of nitrate,soluble sugar,and vitamin C,respectively.The results of continuous measurements of net photosynthetic rate of lettuce leaves before harvest indicated that plants grown at PPFD of 250μmol/m^(2)·s had consistently higher compared to those grown at PPFD of 300μmol/m^(2)·s.Combining the results from growth,photosynthesis,quality,and energy consumption,it can be concluded that PPFD at 250μmol/m^(2)·s with photoperiod of 16 h/d under LED with R:B ratio of 2.2 is a suitable light environment for maximum growth and high quality of commercial lettuce(cv.Ziwei)production under indoor controlled environment.Xin Zhang Dongxian He Genhua Niu Zhengnan Yan Jinxiu Song 2018International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,2:8
3Effects of light quality on growth and development of cucumber seedlings in controlled environment显示文摘Conventional light sources have been successfully used to cultivate a wide variety of horticultural crops.However,they are of limited use due to uncontrollability of spectra and energy inefficiency.Light-emitting diodes(LEDs)emerged with tremendous potential in controlled environment agriculture due to their energy efficiency,longevity,and spectral specificity,but the effects of different types of LEDs on plant growth and development must be examined.In this study,cucumber(Cucumis sativus L.cv.Zhongnong 26)seedlings were grown under four different lighting treatments that each delivered a photosynthetic photon flux density of 200μmol/m2·s at plant canopy including triphosphate fluorescent lamps(TF),high-frequency fluorescent lamps(HF),white LEDs(WL),and red and blue LEDs(RBL).Cucumber seedlings were grown in a growth chamber at(25.0±1.5)℃with 12-hour light and 12-hour dark for 30 days after sowing,and data were subsequently collected.Seedlings grown under the WL were 45%,12%,and 40%taller than those grown under the TF,HF and RBL,respectively.The leaf area was 23%smaller under the TF than under the HF.The shoot dry weight was 16%-22%lower under the TF than under the other lighting treatments.The transplants grown under the RBL had the lowest root dry weight and root to shoot ratio.The seedling quality index was similar among all the lighting treatments.The LEDs treatment yielded more total dry weight with unit electric power compared to the fluorescent lamps.The chlorophyll content was 13%-15%higher in plants grown under the HF and WL than that under the TF and RBL.Plants grown under the WL and RBL had greater photosynthetic rate,transpiration rate,and stomatal conductance than those grown under the TF and HF.It was concluded that high quality cucumber seedlings can be efficiently produced under the broad-spectrum WL that emit a reasonable amount of blue,green and red light,and the lack of green light and/or high ratio of red to blue light under the RBL may cause undesired plant attributes.Song Jinxiu Meng Qingwu Du Weifen He Dongxian 2017International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,3:4
4Non-destructive measurement of chlorophyll in tomato leaves using spectral transmittance显示文摘In this study,spectral transmittances were measured in the wavelength range from 300 nm to 1100 nm of tomato leaves with different chlorophyll contents and compositions,and the correlations between the spectral transmittances and the contents of chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll were analyzed.With the characteristic wavelengths of 560 nm,650 nm,720 nm and the reference wavelength of 940 nm,nine sets of characteristic spectral parameters were obtained.According to the results of correlation analysis and regression model exploration,characteristic spectral parameters of T940/T560,T940/T650 and log(T940/T560)among the nine sets of parameters were highly correlated to the estimated contents of chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll of tomato leaves.The relative errors of total chlorophyll and chlorophyll a/b ratio were(5.1±3.7)%and(4.9±4.3)%,respectively.Therefore,the above three characteristic spectral parameters could be applied in the rapid non-destructive estimation of the contents of chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll as well as chlorophyll a/b ratio of tomato leaves.Wang Jianfeng He Dongxian Song Jinxiu Dou Haijie Du Weifen 2015International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2015,8,5:1
5Effects of daily light integral on tomato(Solanum lycopersicon L.)grafting and quality in a controlled environment显示文摘As the source of energy and biological signals,light can influence the healing process of grafted seedlings by regulating the synthesis of the endogenous hormone,regeneration of wound-healing tissue,and connection of vascular tissue in grafted seedlings.The effect of daily light integral(DLI)on the healing process and seedling quality of tomato(Solanum lycopersicum L.)was analyzed in this study,with the comparison of grafted seedlings treated in dark for 7 d after grafting.The results showed that the height increment of scion and rootstock,adhesion of graft union,stem flow,total chlorophyll content,and net photosynthesis rate increased gradually with increasing light intensity,and no longer increased significantly when the DLI was higher than 5.04 mol/m^(2)·d.The contents of auxin(IAA)and gibberellin(GA)in tomato leaves increased and abscisic acid(ABA)decreased with the increase of DLI.However,there was no significant difference between the treatments with DLI higher than 6.48 mol/m^(2)·d.Both the biomass and energy use efficiency(EUE)of grafted seedlings increased with DLI in a certain range and then decreased.The biomass was the largest when DLI was 5.04 mol/m^(2)·d.However,EUE was highest when DLI was 7.46 mol/m^(2)·d.In conclusion,a suitable DLI is beneficial to cultivate high-quality grafted tomato seedlings,and increasing DLI within a certain range can promote biomass accumulation,connection of vascular tissue,and endogenous hormone biosynthesis in tomato grafted seedlings during the healing period.The lighting environment with DLI of 5.04 mol/m^(2)·d(light intensity of 100μmol/m^(2)·s and light time of 14 h/d)is recommended for the healing treatment in high-quality production,which also improves EUE during the healing period of tomato grafted seedlings.Jinxiu Song Yulong Fan Xingqun Li Yuzhu Li Hanping Mao Zhiyu Zuo Zhirong Zou 2022International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,6:1
6Estimating EC and ionic EC contribution percentage of nutrient solution based on ionic activity显示文摘The dynamic monitoring technology of inorganic ions using ion selective electrodes has some problems such as low precision,vulnerability to other ions,short service life,and high price.Due to the difficulty of dynamic control based on ionic concentration of nutrient solution,EC and pH values of nutrient solution are often used as feedback control indexes in hydroponic system.In this study,estimation algorisms of EC and ionic EC contribution percentage based on ionic activity were proposed to understand the quantitative relationship between ionic concentration and EC.With a view to predicting the EC accurately by mean ionic activities of specific salts in nutrient solution based on a specific formula,ionic concentration could also be calculated by the actual measurement of EC combined with ionic EC contribution percentage.With Japanese horticultural experimental nutrient formula and Yamasaki tomato nutrient formula,significant linear correlations between estimated EC and measured EC were found with determination coefficients over 0.99.Ionic EC contribution percentage was not affected by different relative concentrations of nutrient solutions.However,ionic EC contribution percentage changed significantly when adding specific salts with different concentrations,and different changes were found in each anions and cations of specific salt added.When the same K+concentration was added in different forms of KNO_(3),K_(2_SO_(4),KCl,and KH_(2)PO_(4),the changes of ionic EC contribution percentage of K^(+)were similar,but those of other anions in potassium salts varied greatly.The relative errors of estimated EC of nutrient solutions based on ionic activities were only 1.3%in horticultural experimental nutrient solution and 1.8%in Yamasaki tomato nutrient solution with different relative concentrations compared to measured EC.The relative errors of estimated EC of nutrient solutions with specific salt added were only 0.1%-0.5%compared to measured EC in two nutrient solution.Therefore,the dynamic feedback control of ionic concentration of nutrient solution could be realized by using EC measurement combined with ionic EC contribution percentage to improve the ionic quantitative control in nutrient solution.The EC control of nutrient solution in automatic irrigation system might be upgraded to ionic concentration control by using algorisms above of ionic EC contribution percentage and EC estimation to meet dynamic demands of hydroponic crops for ionic concentration in different growth stages.Jinxiu Song Lin Xu Dongxian He Satoru Tuskagoshi Toyoki Kozai Yutaka Shinohara 2019International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,2:1
7Newly recorded bloom-forming dinoflagellate Gymnodinium impudicum in Haizhou Bay,Yellow Sea,China显示文摘With the development of industrialization and aquaculture in Jiangsu and Shandong Provinces along the South Yellow Sea coast,China,eutrophication has greatly intensified in the region,resulting in frequent occurrence of diverse harmful algal blooms.An algal bloom formed by a chain-forming dinofl agellate species was recorded in the Haizhou Bay,South Yellow Sea,in September 2020.The causative species was isolated and studied in morphology,molecular phylogeny,pigment profile,presence of paralytic shellfish toxins,and acute toxicity.The loop-shaped apical groove running anticlockwise around the apex,the presence of peridinin as characteristic pigment,as well as a single phylogenic clade of 28S ribosomal DNA(100%posterior probability),defined this species as Gymnodinium impudicum,a non-toxic species that exhibited no obvious biotoxicity to the rotifer Brachionus plicatilis,the copepod Artemia salina,and the shrimp Neomysis awatschensis.Gymnodinium impudicum is typically distributed in coastal waters with high nitrate concentrations,where it reaches a maximum density of 2.6×10~5 cells/L.This is the first report of a G.impudicum bloom in the Yellow Sea;however,G.impudicum blooms may have been misidentified or underreported in Haizhou Bay due to the species morphological similarity with G.catenatum.A combination of multiple methods is recommended to accurately identify new algal bloom species.Jinxiu WANG Fanzhou KONG Yunfeng WANG Nanjing JI Minjie SONG Zhangxi HU Zhuang NIU Chao LIU Xin WANG Yuanyuan SUN Rencheng YU Tian YAN 2022Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2022,40,6:1

9Effects of Low Temperature and Poor Light Environments under LED Lighting on Quality Change of Pepper Seedlings during Storage显示文摘Storage and transportation of vegetable commercial seedlings becomes an important link along with the continuous expansion of planting areas of facility vegetables and vegetable seedling culture industry. In this study,pepper variety‘Nongda 24' was as the experimental material,and changes in the morphological and physiological indicators of plug seedlings in different low temperature( 6 and 11℃) and poor light environments were studied to find suitable storage environmental conditions. The results showed that pepper seedlings could be stored and transported for 14 days when storage temperature was 11℃ and light conditions such as light intensity and photoperiod were 30 μmol/( m^2·s)and 12 h/d by using a fluorescent lamp with R∶ B ratio of 1. 9,and 15 μmol/( m^2·s) and 24 h/d by using LED with R∶ B ratio of 1. 3,respectively. Moreover,the quality of pepper seedlings could be protected effectively. 10Reviving and characterizing three species of dinoflagellate cysts dormant for about 70 years in the East China Sea:Biecheleria brevisulcata,Biecheleriopsis adriatica,and Scrippsiella donghaienis显示文摘Many marine dinoflagellates can form resting cysts as a part of their life cycle,and the cysts could be buried in sediment and remained viable for as long as over 150 years.However,only a very limited number of cyst species have been revived from long-buried sediments and investigated in regard to a possible shift in the intra-specific genetic structure of a species detected from the historical record at a particular location.Here,we report a successful germination of three species of resting cysts that were sampled from the depth dated back to 1941±18 AD from a 44-cm sediment core from the East China Sea.Seven isolates were established from germination of single cyst isolation or multi-cyst germinations.LSU rRNA gene or ITS sequences of these strains were obtained,then they were identified to be Biecheleria brevisulcata(five strains),Biecheleriopsis adriatica(one strain),and Scrippsiella donghaienis(one strain)in terms of morphology and rRNA gene sequence.Biecheleria brevisulcata strain 1,Bps.adriatica strain 21,and S.donghaienis strain 23 were examined in detail with light microscope(LM)and scanning electron microscope(SEM),and analyzed with high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)for their pigment compositions,and genetic diversity.We also confirmed the presence of a resting cyst of Bps.adriatica in the field for the first time.The LSU rRNA gene-based genetic distances of Bps.adriatica from that obtained from water sample,single-cell PCR sequencing for the cysts isolated from the surface sediment of the same sea area and that reported from other regions during the recent years,and ITS-based genetic distances of S.donghaienis from that obtained from cysts isolated from the surface sediment of the same location and that reported from other regions during the recent years indicated that the intra-specific genetic structure of each species in the sampling area may have shifted during the last 70 years.Our work confirms that B.brevisulcata,Bps.adriatica,and S.donghaienis,all described as new species around 2010,have inhabited the East China Sea for about 70 years.The present work reports for the first time the revival of dinoflagellate resting cysts long-buried in the coastal sediments of China,which facilitates further study on the historical occurrences of other harmful dinoflagellates and their relevance to the regional climate and environmental changes in China.Zhangxi HU Xiaoying SONG Jinxiu WANG Zhe TAO Yuanyuan SUN Yuhang LI Yuyang LIU Yunyan DENG Lixia SHANG Zhaoyang CHAI Yingzhong TANG 2022Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2022,40,6:0
