| 1 | Pathways of China's PM;air quality 2015–2060 in the context of carbon neutrality显示文摘Clean air policies in China have substantially reduced particulate matter(PM;) air pollution in recent years,primarily by curbing end-of-pipe emissions.However,reaching the level of the World Health Organization(WHO) guidelines may instead depend upon the air quality co-benefits of ambitious climate action.Here,we assess pathways of Chinese PM;air quality from 2015 to 2060 under a combination of scenarios that link global and Chinese climate mitigation pathways(i.e.global 2℃-and 1.5℃-pathways,National Determined Contributions(NDC) pledges and carbon neutrality goals) to local clean air policies.We find that China can achieve both its near-term climate goals(peak emissions) and PM;air quality annual standard(35 μg/m;) by 2030 by fulfilling its NDC pledges and continuing air pollution control policies.However,the benefits of end-of-pipe control reductions are mostly exhausted by 2030,and reducing PM;exposure of the majority of the Chinese population to below 10 μg/m;by 2060 will likely require more ambitious climate mitigation efforts such as China’ s carbon neutrality goals and global1.5℃-pathways.Our results thus highlight that China’s carbon neutrality goals will play a critical role in reducing air pollution exposure to the level of the WHO guidelines and protecting public health. | Jing Cheng Dan Tong Qiang Zhang Yang Liu Yu Lei Gang Yan Liu Yan Sha Yu Ryna Yiyun Cui Leon Clarke Guannan Geng Bo Zheng Xiaoye Zhang Steven JDavis Kebin He | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,12: | 23 |

| 3 | Lipoprotein(a) as a Marker for Predicting the Presence and Severity of Coronary Artery Disease in Untreated Chinese Patients Undergoing Coronary Angiography显示文摘Objective Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) has been well known as the risk factor of coronary artery disease(CAD). However, the role of lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] in the development of CAD is of great interest but still controversial. Thus, we aim to explore the effect of Lp(a) on predicting the presence and severity of CAD in Chinese untreated patients, especially in combination with LDL-C. Methods We consecutively recruited 1,980 non-treated patients undergoing coronary angiography, among which 1,162 patients were diagnosed with CAD. Gensini score(GS) was used to assess the severity of CAD. Lp(a) was measured by immunoturbidimetric method. Results Patients with CAD had higher level of LDL-C and Lp(a) compared with non-CAD(P < 0.05). Multivariable logistic regression revealed that Lp(a) > 205 mg/L(highest tertile) predicted 1.437-fold risk for CAD(95% CI: 1.108-1.865, P = 0.006) and 1.480-fold risk for high GS(95% CI: 1.090-2.009, P = 0.012) respectively. Interestingly, concomitant elevated level of Lp(a) and LDL-C conferred the highest risk for both presence [OR = 1.845, 95% CI: 1.339-2.541, P < 0.001] and severity [OR = 1.736, 95% CI: 1.188-2.538, P = 0.004] of CAD. | 4 | Circulating MicroRNAs as Novel Diagnostic Biomarkers for Very Early-onset(≤40 years) Coronary Artery Disease显示文摘Objective Very early-onset coronary artery disease(CAD) is a great challenge in cardiovascular medicine throughout the world,especially regarding its early diagnosis.This study explored whether circulating micro RNAs(mi RNAs) could be used as potential biomarkers for patients with very early-onset CAD.Methods We performed an initial screening of mi RNA expression using RNA isolated from 20 patients with angiographically documented very early-onset CAD and 20 age-and sex-matched normal controls.For further confirmation,we prospectively examined the mi RNAs selected from 40 patients with very early-onset CAD and 40 angiography-normal controls.Results A total of 22 overexpressed mi RNAs and 22 underexpressed mi RNAs were detected in the initial screening.RT-q PCR analysis of the mi RNAs obtained from the initial screening revealed that four mi RNAs including mi R-196-5p,mi R-3163-3p,mi R-145-3p,and mi R-190a-5p exhibited significantly decreased expression in patients compared with that in controls(P<0.05).The areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve for these mi RNAs were 0.824(95% CI,0.731-0.917;P<0.001),0.758(95% CI,0.651-0.864;P<0.001),0.753(95% CI,0.643-0.863;P<0.001),and 0.782(95% CI,0.680-0.884;P<0.001),respectively,in the validation set.Conclusion To our knowledge,this is an advanced study to report about four serum mi RNAs(mi R-196-5p,mi R-3163-3p,mi R-145-3p,and mi R-190a-5p) that could be used as novel biomarkers for the diagnosis of very early-onset CAD. | DU Ying YANG Sheng Hua LI Sha CUI Chuan Jue ZHANG Yan ZHU Cheng Gang GUO Yuan Lin WU Na Qiong GAO Ying SUN Jing DONG Qian LIU Geng LI Jian Jun | 2016 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2016,29,8: | 5 |

| 6 | Plasma apo CⅢ Levels in Relation to Inflammatory Traits and Metabolic Syndrome in Patients not Treated with Lipid-lowering Drugs Undergoing Coronary Angiography显示文摘Objective Assessment of the comprehensive relationship among apolipoprotein CIII(apoCⅢ) levels, inflammation, and metabolic disorders is rare. Methods A total of 1455 consecutive patients not treated with lipid-lowering drugs and undergoing coronary angiography were enrolled in this cross-sectional study. A mediation analysis was used to detect the underlying role of apoCⅢ in the association of inflammation with metabolic syndrome(MetS). Results Patients with MetS showed higher levels of apoCⅢ [95.1(73.1-131.4) vs. 81.7(58.6-112.4) μg/mL, P < 0.001] and inflammatory markers [high sensitivity C-reactive protein, 1.7(0.8-3.4) vs. 1.1(0.5-2.2) mg/L; white blood cell count,(6.48 ± 1.68) vs.(6.11 ± 1.67) × 10~9/L]. The levels of apoCⅢ and inflammatory markers increased with the number of metabolic risk components(all P < 0.001). Furthermore, apoCⅢ levels were associated with virtually all individual MetS risk factors and inflammatory markers(all P < 0.05). Importantly, the prevalence of MetS in each metabolic disorder rose as apoCⅢ levels increased(all P < 0.05). Mediation analysis showed that apoCⅢ partially mediated the effect of inflammation on MetS independently from triglycerides. | 7 | Ultra‐low cost Ti powder for selective laser melting additive manufacturing and superior mechanical properties associated显示文摘One of the bottleneck issues for commercial scale-up of Ti additive manufacturing lies in high cost of raw material, i.e. the spherical Ti powder that is often made by gas atomization. In this study, we address this significant issue by way of powder modification & ball milling processing, which shows that it is possible to produce printable Ti powders based on ultra- low cost, originally unprintable hydrogenation-dehydrogenation (HDH) Ti powder. | 8 | Impact of Smoking Status on Lipoprotein Subfractions: Data from an Untreated Chinese Cohort显示文摘Objective Cigarette smoking is one of the established risk factors of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease,however,its impact on lipids is not completely understood,especially in the Chinese population.Therefore,this study evaluated the impact of smoking status(non,former,and current smoking) on the distribution of lipoprotein subfractions in untreated patients with angina-like chest pain.Methods A total of 877 patients were consecutively enrolled and divided into nonsmoking(n = 518),former smoking(n = 103),and current smoking(n = 256) groups.Both low-and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C and HDL-C) subfractions were measured using the Quantimetrix Lipoprint System.The distributions of lipoprotein subfractions were evaluated among the groups.Results Compared with nonsmoking subjects,the current smoking group had significantly lower large/medium HDL-C(both P < 0.001) concentration and large HDL subfraction percentage but higher small HDL-C and medium LDL-C concentrations as well as medium LDL subfraction percentage.Importantly,former smoking subjects showed elevated levels of large HDL-C concentration,large HDL particle percentage,and mean LDL particle size and attenuation in small HDL/LDL percentages and small LDL-C concentration,but these levels did not reach the optimal status compared with those of the non-smoking group(data not shown).Conclusion Smoking has an adverse impact on the lipoprotein subfractions,presented as lower large HDL particles besides higher small HDL and medium LDL particles,whereas smoking cessation could reverse these change to a certain degree. | ZHAO Xi ZHANG Hui Wen ZHANG Yan LI Sha XU Rui Xia SUN Jing ZHU Cheng Gang WU Na Qiong GAO Ying GUO Yuan Lin LIU Geng DONG Qian LI Jian Jun | 2017 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2017,30,4: | 2 |
| 9 | Enhancement of strength-ductility balance of heavy Ti and Al alloyed FeCoNiCr high-entropy alloys via boron doping显示文摘As one of the most effective mechanisms,precipitation-hardening is widely used to strengthen high-entropy alloys.Yet,heavy precipitation-hardened high-entropy alloys usually exhibit serious embrittlement.How to effectively achieve ultra-high strength and maintain reliable ductility remains a challenge.Here,we report a study of doping extremely little boron to meet this target.We found that adding of 30 ppm boron into the heavy Ti and Al alloyed FCC FeCoNiCr high-entropy,(FeCoNiCr)_(88) Ti_(6) Al_(6) HEA(at.%)which is strengthened mainly by both coarse BCC-based(Ni,Co)_(2) TiAl Heusler and fine L12-type FCC-based(Ni,Co)_(3) TiAl precipitates and shows ultrahigh strength but poor ductility,could significantly change the original microstructure and consequently improve mechanical performance,owing to the well-known effect of boron on reducing the energy of grain boundaries.The boron addition can(1)eliminate microcavities formed at Heusler precipitate-matrix interfaces;(2)suppress the formation and segregation of coarse BCC Heusler precipitates;(3)promote the formation of L12 nanoparticles.This changes of microstructure substantially improve the tensile ductility more than by~86%and retain comparable or even better ultimate tensile strength.These findings may provide a simple and costless solution to produce heavy precipitation-strengthened HEAs with ultrahigh strength and prevent accidental brittleness. | Yongliang Qi Tinghui Cao Hongxiang Zong Yake Wu Lin He Xiangdong Ding Feng Jiang Shenbao Jin Gang Sha Jun Sun | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,16: | 2 |
| 10 | Origins of high ductility exhibited by an extruded magnesium alloy Mg-1.8Zn-0.2Ca:Experiments and crystal plasticity modeling显示文摘Low ductility and strength are major bottlenecks against Mg alloys’wide applications.In this work,we systematically design the composition and fabrication process for a low-alloyed Mg-Zn-Ca alloy,showing that it can be extruded at low temperatures(~250℃)and high speeds(~2 mm/s).After the extrusion,this alloy exhibits a substantially weakened basal texture,relatively small grain size,very high tensile elongation(~30%),and good strength.The origin of the considerably improved ductility was studied using a combination of three-dimensional atom probe tomography(3D-APT),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD)in conjunction with surface slip trace analysis,in-situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction,and elasto-plastic self-consistent(EPSC)modeling.Co-segregation of Zn and Ca atoms at a grain boundary is observed and associated with texture weakening and grain boundary mediated plasticity,both improving the ductility.While basal slip and prismatic slip are identified as the dominant deformation systems in the alloy,the ratio between their slip resistances is substantially reduced relative to pure Mg and most other Mg alloys,significantly contributing to the improved ductility of the alloy.This Mg-Zn-Ca alloy exhibiting excellent mechanical properties and low fabrication cost is a promising candidate for industrial productions. | Jie Wang Gaoming Zhu Leyun Wang Evgenii Vasilev Jun-Sang Park Gang Sha Xiaoqin Zeng Marko Knezevic | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,25: | 2 |
