1A comparative study on source apportionment of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in sediments of the Daliao River,China:Positive matrix factorization and factor analysis with non-negative constraints显示文摘Two receptor models,positive matrix factorization (PMF) and factor analysis with non-negative constraints (FA-NNC),were applied for source apportionment of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in sediments of the Daliao River,China.The source profiles and source contributions derived from the two receptor models were comparable.For PMF,PAHs mainly came from coal combustion (43.3%),followed by biomass burning (24.3%),traffic emissions (16.7%) and coke oven (15.7%).As for FA-NNC,coal combustion (50.4%) was dominant,followed by biomass burning (21.9%),traffic emission (15.7%) and coke oven (12.0%).The source apportionment results are consistent with the results from the specific PAH diagnostic ratios and emission inventory analysis.In addition,the source apportionment results are consistent with the structure of energy material usage in Liaoning Province of China.LIU ChunHui TIAN FuLin CHEN JingWen LI XueHua QIAO XianLiang 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,10:10
2Flexible high energy density zinc-ion batteries enabled by binder-free MnO_(2)/reduced graphene oxide electrode显示文摘We demonstrate a rechargeable zinc-ion battery with high energy density and cyclability using MnO_(2)and reduced graphene oxide(MnO_(2)/rGO)electrode.The flexible and binder free electrode,with high MnO_(2)mass ratio(80 wt%of MnO_(2)),is fabricated using vacuum filtration without any additional additives other than rGO.Compared to batteries with conventional MnO_(2)electrodes,the Zn-MnO_(2)/rGO battery shows a significant enhanced capacity(332.2 mAh g^(-1)at 0.3 A g^(-1)),improved rate capability(172.3 mAh g^(-1)at 6 A g^(-1))and cyclability.The capacity retention remains 96%after 500 charge/discharge cycles at 6 A g^(-1).The high MnO_(2)mass ratio makes MnO_(2)/rGO electrode advantageous when the capacity is normalized to the whole electrode,particularly at high rates.The calculated gravimetric energy density of Zn-MnO_(2)/rGO battery is 33.17Wh kg^(-1),which is comparable to the existing commercial lead-acid batteries(30-40Wh kg^(-1)).Furthermore,the discharge profile and capacity of our Zn-MnO_(2)/rGO battery shows no deterioration during bending test,indicating good flexibility.As a result,zinc-ion battery is believed to be a promising technology for powering next generation flexible electronics.Yuan Huang Jiuwei Liu Qiyao Huang Zijian Zheng Pritesh Hiralal Fulin Zheng Dilek Ozgit Sikai Su Shuming Chen Ping-Heng Tan Shengdong Zhang Hang Zhou 2018npj Flexible Electronics2018,2,1:4
3Differentiation of neuron-like cells from mouse parthenogenetic embryonic stem cells显示文摘Parthenogenetic embryonic stem cells have pluripotent differentiation potentials,akin to fertilized embryo-derived embryonic stem cells.The aim of this study was to compare the neuronal differentiation potential of parthenogenetic and fertilized embryo-derived embryonic stem cells.Before differentiation,karyotype analysis was performed,with normal karyotypes detected in both parthenogenetic and fertilized embryo-derived embryonic stem cells.Sex chromosomes were identified as XX.Immunocytochemistry and quantitative real-time PCR detected high expression of the pluripotent gene,Oct4,at both the mRNA and protein levels,indicating pluripotent differentiation potential of the two embryonic stem cell subtypes.Embryonic stem cells were induced with retinoic acid to form embryoid bodies,and then dispersed into single cells.Single cells were differentiated in N2 differentiation medium for 9 days.Immunocytochemistry showed parthenogenetic and fertilized embryo-derived embryonic stem cells both express the neuronal cell markers nestin,βIII-tubulin and myelin basic protein.Quantitative real-time PCR found expression of neurogenesis related genes(Sox-1,Nestin,GABA,Pax6,Zic5 and Pitx1) in both types of embryonic stem cells,and Oct4 expression was significantly decreased.Nestin and Pax6 expression in parthenogenetic embryonic stem cells was significantly higher than that in fertilized embryo-derived embryonic stem cells.Thus,our experimental findings indicate that parthenogenetic embryonic stem cells have stronger neuronal differentiation potential than fertilized embryo-derived embryonic stem cells.Xingrong Yan Yanhong Yang Wei Liu Wenxin Geng Huichong Du Jihong Cui Xin Xie Jinlian Hua Shumin Yu Liwen Li Fulin Chen 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,4:4
4Elastin-like polypeptide modified silk fibroin porous scaffold promotes osteochondral repair显示文摘Silk fibroin(SF)is considered biocompatible and biodegradable for osteochondral repair.However,it lacks a bioactive domain for cell adhesion,proliferation and differentiation,limiting its therapeutic efficacy.To revamp SF as a biomimicking and bioactive microenvironment to regulate cell behaviours,we engineered an elastin-like polypeptide(ELP,Val-Pro-Gly-Xaa-Gly)to modify SF fibers via simple and green dehydrothermal(DHT)treatment.Our results demonstrated that the ELP successfully bound to SF,and the scaffold was reinforced by the fusion of the silk fiber intersections with ELP(S-ELP-DHT)via the DHT treatment.Both bone mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs)and chondrocytes exhibited improved spreading and proliferation on the S-ELP-DHT scaffolds.The ex vivo and in vivo experiments further demonstrated enhanced mature bone and cartilage tissue formation using the S-ELP-DHT scaffolds compared to the naked SF scaffolds.These results indicated that a recombinant ELPmodified silk scaffold can mimic three-dimensional(3D)cell microenvironment,and improve bone and cartilage regeneration.We envision that our scaffolds have huge clinical potential for osteochondral repair.Zhuoyue Chen Qiang Zhang Hongmin Li Qi Wei Xin Zhao Fulin Chen 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,3:4

10Ribonuclease H-like gene SMALL GRAIN2 regulates grain size in rice through brassinosteroid signaling pathway显示文摘Grain size is a key agronomic trait that determines the yield in plants.Regulation of grain size by brassinosteroids(BRs)in rice has been widely reported.However,the relationship between the BR signaling pathway and grain size still requires further study.Here,we isolated a rice mutant,named small grain2(sg2),which displayed smaller grain and a semi-dwarf phenotype.The decreased grain size was caused by repressed cell expansion in spikelet hulls of the sg2 mutant.Using map-based cloning combined with a Mut Map approach,we cloned SG2,which encodes a plant-specific protein with a ribonuclease H-like domain.SG2 is a positive regulator downstream of GLYCOGEN SYNTHASE KINASE2(GSK2)in response to BR signaling,and its mutation causes insensitivity to exogenous BR treatment.Genetical and biochemical analysis showed that GSK2 interacts with and phosphorylates SG2.We further found that BRs enhance the accumulation of SG2 in the nucleus,and subcellular distribution of SG2 is regulated by GSK2 kinase activity.In addition,Oryza sativa OVATE family protein 19(OsOFP19),a negative regulator of grain shape,interacts with SG2 and plays an antagonistic role with SG2 in controlling gene expression and grain size.Our results indicated that SG2 is a new component of GSK2-related BR signaling response and regulates grain size by interacting with Os OFP19.Yunshuai Huang Hui Dong Changling Mou Ping Wang Qixian Hao Min Zhang Hongmin Wu Fulin Zhang Tengfei Ma Rong Miao Kai Fu Yaping Chen Ziyan Zhu Cheng Chen Qikai Tong Zhuoran Wang Shirong Zhou Xi Liu Shijia Liu Yunlu Tian Ling Jiang Jianmin Wan 2022Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,10:1

19Effects of Diet with'Lianhuang'Additive of Chinese Herb Medicine on Growth Performance and Metabolic Rates of Dietary Nutrients in Donglan Black Chicken显示文摘[Objectives]The study was conducted to evaluate the effects of diet with'Lianhuang'additive of Chinese herbal medicine(LACHM)on growth performance and metabolic rates of dietary nutrients in Donglan black chickens(DBCs).[Methods]80 DBCs aged 1 d were blocked into 4 groups randomly and assigned to 6 replicates in each group with 20 chicks in each replicate.Group A as control group fed basal diet.Groups B,C and D as treatment groups consumed the basal diet added with 0.25%,0.50%and 1.00%of LACHM,respectively during the test period of 70 d.In the end of feeding test,24 DBCs with similar body weight from each group were chosen out and used for a metabolism test to determine the metabolic rates of dietary nutrients from each treatment.The metabolism test was conducted as the same design as the feeding test and the DBCs from each group were fed the same diet as previous test.[Results]The ADG of chickens in the test increased by 5.00%-9.15%(P<0.05)except the stage of 50-70 d,and the individual average body weight(IABW)at 70 d in group B also increased by 4.86%(P<0.05).Compared with group A,the ADG of group C in the stages of 36-49,1-49 and 1-70 d and the IABW in the end of 70 d increased by 5.90%,2.66%,2.68%and 2.57%(P>0.05),respectively.The ADFI in the stage of 36-49 d from group A was 6.04%more than that from group B(P<0.01),and 5.12%and 4.13%more than those from groups C and D(P<0.05),respectively,and the ADFI of group A in the stage of 1-49 d was still 2.86%more than that from group C(P<0.05).However,no differences in ADFI were found in other stages in the test among the 4 groups(P>0.05).The F/G in the stages of 22-35 and 1-70 d from group B was 6.32%and 3.41%lower than those from group A(P<0.05),respectively,and even 11.43%and 7.31%lower in the stages of 36-49 and 1-49 d from group B than those from group A(P<0.01),respectively.The F/G of group C in the stage of 36-49 d was also 10.15%lower than that of group A(P<0.05),and still 5.29%lower than that from group A in 1-49 d(P<0.01),but no differences were found in other stages between the two groups(P>0.05).The metabolic rates of MD,CP,CF,NFE,CA,TE,Ca and P in the 3 treatment diets for group B,C and D all increased to some extent.Among them,the increasing extents of diets with 0.25%and 0.50%of LACHM for groups B and C were much greater.Therefore,the diet with 0.25%of LACHM could improve the growth performance and metabolic rates of dietary nutrients in DBCs significantly.[Conclusions]This study provides a theoretical reference for the effects of traditional Chinese medicine additives on the growth and metabolic rates of DBCs.Jing YAN Lei QIU Min CHEN Fulin WANG Wenjie LU Menglei LI Cui YANG Jiahuang YANG 2022Agricultural Biotechnology2022,11,3:1
