1Effect of lamivudinein in BeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B: Discordant effect on HBeAg and HBV DNA according to pretreatment ALT level显示文摘AIM: To clarify differences in antiviral effect of the drug in patients with different ALT levels, we examined the changes in HBV markers in patients with high or low ALT levels with or without lamivudine treatment. METHODS: Thirty-seven HBeAg-positive patients were studied. Ten patients with ALT levels higher than 200 IU/L (group 1) and 8 patients with ALT below 200 IU/L (group 2) were treated orally with 100 mg/d of lamivudine. As untreated control, 9 patients with ALT above 200 IU/L (group 3) and 10 patients with ALT below 200 IU/L (group 4) were examined. ALT level, HBeAg/HBeAb status, and HBV DNA level were examined monthly for 11.9±0.4 mo.RESULTS: The ALT level normalized in all 10 patients of group 1, 7/8 of group 2, 4/9 of group 3, and 1/10 of group 4 within 6 mo (groups 1 vs 2, P = NS; groups 1 vs 3, P = 0.002; groups 1vs 4, P<0.0001). HBV DNA fell below the detection limit in all 10 patients of group 1, 7/8 of group 2, 0/9 of group 3, and 0/10 of group 4 within 6 mo (groups 1 vs 2, P = NS). HBeAg became seronegative in 7/10 patients of group 1, 1/8 of group 2, 3/9 of group 3, and 0/10 of group 4 within 12 mo (groups 1 vs2, P= 0.02;groups 1 vs 3, P = NS).CONCLUSION: Our data suggest that HBeAg-positive patients with higher ALT levels can be considered good candidates for lamivudine therapy, probably because lamivudine accelerates the natural seroconversion of HBeAg, accompanied by HBV DNA loss, in these patients.Tomoko Kurihara Fumio Imazeki Osamu Yokosuka Kenichi Fukai Tatsuo Kanda Shigenobu Kawai Hiromitsu Saisho 2005World Journal of Gastroenterology2005,11,22:5
2Preparation of Starch Succinate WITH INTERMEDIATE DS BY AQUEOUS SLURRY REACTION显示文摘The succinylation of cornstarch by slurry reaction has been studied using sodium hydroxide as catalyst. Several reaction parameters afJecting the succinylation were investigated including the concentration of starch in water, the ratio of succinic anhydride to starch, the reaction time and the reaction temperature. The favorable conditions for an intermediate degree of substitution (DS) and reasonably high reaction efficiency (RE) are pH 8.5~9.0, 50% starch by weight to water, succinic anhydride to starch I/I (w/w), reaction time 4h, reaction temperature 30 ℃Under these conditions, the DS of 0.45 and RE of 28% were achieved. 4Extraction and back-extraction behaviors of 14 rare earth elements from sulfuric acid medium by TODGA显示文摘The unique physical and chemical properties of rare earth elements lay the foundation for their extensive application. N,N,N',N' Tetra-octyl-3-oxopentanediamide(TODGA) is excellent in its ability of extracting rare earth elements and it is favored for green initiative. In this paper, the extraction and back-extraction of14 rare earth elements by TODGA were studied. Experiments show that in conditions of 6 mol/L sulfuric acid, the extraction temperature of 25 ℃,the phase ratio of 1:1 and 0.04 mol/LTODGA(aviation kerosene as the diluent), the extraction rates of 14 rare earth elements including lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium,neodymium, europium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, holmium, erbium, thulium, ytterbium, lutetium, and yttrium were 99.00%-99.73%. Mixed with hydrochloric acid and nitric acid(HCl 3.5 mol/L, HNO_30.5 mol/L), the recoveries of the 14 rare earth elements are 91.52%-99.91% when the extraction temperature is 25 ℃ and the ratio is 1:1. The following application is based on the optimum conditions above with practical samples(from the roasting production line of China North Rare Earth High-tech Company Limited) for extraction and back-extraction experiments. 7The Positive Indian Ocean Dipole–like Response in the Tropical Indian Ocean to Global Warming显示文摘Climate models project a positive Indian Ocean Dipole(p IOD)–like SST response in the tropical Indian Ocean to global warming. By employing the Community Earth System Model and applying an overriding technique to its ocean component(version 2 of the Parallel Ocean Program), this study investigates the similarities and differences of the formation mechanisms for the changes in the tropical Indian Ocean during the p IOD versus global warming. Results show that their formation processes and related seasonality are quite similar; in particular, wind–thermocline–SST feedback is the leading mechanism in producing the anomalous cooling over the eastern tropics in both cases. Some differences are also found, including the fact that the cooling effect of the vertical advection over the eastern tropical Indian Ocean is dominated by the anomalous vertical velocity during the p IOD but by the anomalous upper-ocean stratification under global warming. 8Tumor Microenvironment Cascade‑Responsive Nanodrug with Self‑Targeting Activation and ROS Regeneration for Synergistic Oxidation‑Chemotherapy显示文摘Carrier-free nanodrug with exceptionally high drug payload has attracted increasing attentions.Herein,we construct a pH/ROS cascade-responsive nanodrug which could achieve tumor acidity-triggered targeting activation followed by circularly amplified ROS-triggered drug release via positive-feedback loop.The di-selenide-bridged prodrug synthesized from vitamin E succinate and methotrexate(MTX)self-assembles into nanoparticles(VSeM);decorating acidity-cleavable PEG onto VSeM surface temporarily shields the targeting ability of MTX to evade immune clearance and consequently elongate circulation time.Upon reaching tumor sites,acidity-triggered detachment of PEG results in targeting recovery to enhance tumor cell uptake.Afterward,the VSeM could be dissociated in response to intracellular ROS to trigger VES/MTX release;then the released VES could produce extra ROS to accelerate the collapse of VSeM.Finally,the excessive ROS produced from VES could synergize with the released MTX to efficiently suppress tumor growth via orchestrated oxidation-chemotherapy.Our study provides a novel strategy to engineer cascade-responsive nanodrug for synergistic cancer treatment.Yang Li Jinyan Lin Peiyuan Wang Qiang Luo Fukai Zhu Yun Zhang Zhenqing Hou Xiaolong Liu Jingfeng Liu 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,12:2
