2A Scenario-Based Evaluation of COVID-19-Related Essential Clinical Resource Demands in China显示文摘The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic is a global crisis,and medical systems in many countries are overwhelmed with supply shortages and increasing demands to treat patients due to the surge in cases and severe illnesses.This study aimed to assess COVID-19-related essential clinical resource demands in China,based on different scenarios involving COVID-19 spreads and interventions.We used a susceptible–exposed–infectious–hospitalized/isolated–removed(SEIHR)transmission dynamics model to estimate the number of COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations with corresponding essential healthcare resources needed.We found that,under strict non-pharmaceutical interventions(NPIs)or mass vaccination of the population,China would be able to contain community transmission and local outbreaks rapidly.However,under scenarios involving a low intensity of implemented NPIs and a small proportion of the population vaccinated,the use of a peacetime–wartime transition model would be needed for medical source stockpiles and preparations to ensure a normal functioning healthcare system.The implementation of COVID-19 vaccines and NPIs in different periods can influence the transmission of COVID-19 and subsequently affect the demand for clinical diagnosis and treatment.An increased proportion of asymptomatic infections in simulations will not reduce the demand for medical resources;however,attention must be paid to the increasing difficulty in containing COVID-19 transmission due to asymptomatic cases.This study provides evidence for emergency preparations and the adjustment of prevention and control strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic.It also provides guidance for essential healthcare investment and resource allocation.Ting Zhang Qing Wang Zhiwei Leng Yuan Yang Jin Yang Fangyuan Chen Mengmeng Jia Xingxing Zhang Weiran Qi Yunshao Xu Siya Chen Peixi Dai Libing Ma Luzhao Feng Weizhong Yang 2021Engineering2021,7,7:7
3Improved oxygen reduction reaction via a partially oxidized Co-CoO catalyst on N-doped carbon synthesized by a facile sand-bath method显示文摘High active and durable non-noble metal electrocatalysts are urgently developed to satisfy the high performance oxygen reduction reaction(ORR). We successfully synthesized Co-CoOx anchored on nitrogen-doped carbon via a facile sand-bath method(SBM), i.e., Co-CoOx/N-C(SBM). The as-obtained Co-CoOx/N-C(SBM) exhibited overwhelming superiorities to Co-CoO/N-C prepared by conventional heat treatment(CHT), particularly in electrochemical performance of ORR. Although Co-CoOx/N-C(SBM)showed smaller specific surface area of 276.8 m^2/g than that of 939.5 m^2/g from Co-CoO/N-C(CHT), the Co-CoOx/N-C(SBM) performed larger pore diameter and more Co_3O_4 active component resulting in better ORR performance in 0.1 mol/L KOH solution. The Co-CoO_x/N-C(SBM) delivered onset potential of 0.91 V vs. RHE, mid-wave potential of 0.85 V vs. RHE and limited current density of 5.46 mA/cm^2 much better than those of the Co-CoO/N-C(CHT). 4Defective ZnS nanoparticles anchored in situ on N-doped carbon as a superior oxygen reduction reaction catalyst显示文摘Defect engineering has been used to develop low-cost and effective catalysts to boost oxygen reduction reactions.However,the development of catalysts that use metal cation vacancies as the active sites for oxygen reduction reaction is lacking.In this study,ZnS nanoparticles on N-doped carbon serve as an oxygen reduction reaction catalyst.These catalysts were prepared via a one-step method at 900℃.Amazingly,the high-resolution transmission electron microscope image revealed obvious defects in the ZnS nanoparticles.These facilitated the catalyst synthesis,and the product displayed good electrocatalytic performance for the oxygen reduction reaction in an alkaline medium,including a lower onset potential,lower mid-wave potential,four electron transfer process,and better durability compared with 20 wt%Pt/C.More importantly,the density functional theory results indicated that using the Zn vacancies in the prepared catalyst as active sites required a lower reaction energy to produce OOH*from*OO toward oxygen reduction reaction.Therefore,the proposed catalyst with Zn vacancies can be used as a potential electrocatalyst and may be substitutes for Pt-based catalysts in fuel cells,given the novel catalyst’s resulting performance.Libing Hu Zengxi Wei Feng Yu Huifang Yuan Mincong Liu Gang Wang Bangfiua Peng Bin Dai Jianmin Ma 2019Journal of Energy Chemistry2019,28,12:3
5Inhibitor of DNA binding 2 accelerates nerve regeneration after sciatic nerve injury in mice显示文摘Inhibitor of DNA binding 2(Id2)can promote axonal regeneration after injury of the central nervous system.However,whether Id2 can promote axonal regeneration and functional recovery after peripheral nerve injury is currently unknown.In this study,we established a mouse model of bilateral sciatic nerve crush injury.Two weeks before injury,AAV9-Id2-3×Flag-GFP was injected stereotaxically into the bilateral ventral horn of lumbar spinal cord.Our results showed that Id2 was successfully delivered into spinal cord motor neurons projecting to the sciatic nerve,and the number of regenerated motor axons in the sciatic nerve distal to the crush site was increased at 2 weeks after injury,arriving at the tibial nerve and reinnervating a few endplates in the gastrocnemius muscle.By 1 month after injury,extensive neuromuscular reinnervation occurred.In addition,the amplitude of compound muscle action potentials of the gastrocnemius muscle was markedly recovered,and their latency was shortened.These findings suggest that Id2 can accelerate axonal regeneration,promote neuromuscular reinnervation,and enhance functional improvement following sciatic nerve injury.Therefore,elevating the level of Id2 in adult neurons may present a promising strategy for peripheral nerve repair following injury.The study was approved by the Experimental Animal Ethics Committee of Jinan University(approval No.20160302003)on March 2,2016.Zhong-Hai Huang Ai-Ying Feng Jing Liu Libing Zhou Bing Zhou Panpan Yu 2021Neural Regeneration Research2021,16,12:2
6Efficient purification of Al_(30) by organic complexation method显示文摘A method was developed for preparing high purity Al30O8(OH)56(H2O)_(24)^(18)+(Al30) through elimination of impurities by complexation.Polyaluminum chloride II(PAC_(30))with Al_(c )content of 75%was adopted as the source of Al_(30).The PAC_(30)was prepared under conditions of total aluminum concentration 0.1 mol/L and OH^-/Al ratio 2.2 to obtain the highest content of Al_(30).A precipitation/metathesis method,organic solvent precipitation method and organic complexation method were examined to separate and purify Al_(30).It was found that only by the organic complexation method could high purity Al_(30)products be obtained in large yield economically.In the experiments,benzoic acid was used as the coordinating reagent to decompose the main impurity AlO_4Al_(12)(OH)_(24)(H_2O)_(12)^(7+)(Al_(13)),and the Al_(30)product could be obtained by precipitation and metathesis operations.It was noteworthy that the decomposition of impurities by benzoic acid could be completed in 2 hr.The Al_(30)product was characterized by Ferron assay,^(27)Al-NMR,SEM,XRD and TGA.The results showed that the purity of the Al_(30)product could exceed 92%.Libing Liu Qinxue Yang Pin Wang Feng Xiao Ruyuan Jiao Guangyu An Dongsheng Wang 2019Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,6:2
7Factors involved in the success of Castanea henryi stem cuttings in different cutting mediums and cutting selection periods显示文摘Chinquapin(Castanea henryi) is a dual-purpose tree species in China valued for as a source of timber and starch.We investigated the effect of four cutting mediums(pure vermiculite;peat:river sand at 3:1 v/v;peat:krasnozem at 1:1 v/v;and pure krasnozem) and three stem cutting periods(March,May,and July) on rooting performance of C.henryi cuttings.Different cutting periods and cutting mediums greatly influenced the rooting rate of C.henryi,ranging from 3.35 to 77.31%.Principal component analysis indicated that the best combination of cutting period and cutting medium was semi-hardwood cuttings(May cuttings)+krasnozem.Histological evidence indicated that adventitious root initials were present by week 5-6,and that the site of root primordia initiation was observed in the vascular cambium.Stem anatomical structures observed at different periods indicated that a xylem/radius ratio of29.90-37.42% and a fractured phloem fiber ring are indicative of rooting success.The relational model between rooting index and medium properties indicated that nutrient content and porosity significantly influenced callus production.However,pH strongly affected C.henryi root formation,with the Pearson correlation coefficients for May and July cuttings of-0.856 and-0.947,respectively.Our protocol is helpful to achieve mass clone propagation of improved C.henryi genotypes,thus overcoming a common hurdle in chinquapin breeding programs.Wangzun Chen Libing He Shiyi Tian Joseph Masabni Huan Xiong Feng Zou Deyi Yuan 2021Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,4:2
8Overwhelming electrochemical oxygen reduction reaction of zinc-nitrogen-carbon from biomass resource chitosan via a facile carbon bath method显示文摘Developing high efficiency and low cost electrocatalysts is critical for the enhancement of oxygen reduction reaction(ORR),which is the fundamental for the development and commercialization of renewable energy conversion technology.Herein,zinc-nitrogen-carbon(Zn-N-C)was prepared by using biomass resource chitosan via a facile carbon bath method.The obtained Zn-N-C delivered a high specific surface area(794.7 cm^2/g)together with pore volume(0.49 cm^3/g).During the electrochemical evaluation of oxygen reduction reaction(ORR),Zn-N-C displayed high activity for ORR with an onset pote ntial E0=0.96 VRHE and a half wave potential E1/2=0.86 VRHE,which were more positive than those of the comme rcial 20 wt%Pt/C benchmark catalyst(E0=0.96 VRHE and E1/2=0.81 VRHE).In addition,the ZnN-C catalyst also had a better stability and methanol tolerance than those of the Pt/C catalyst.Libing Hu Feng Yu Fu Wang Shengchao Yang Banghua Peng Long Chen Gang Wang Juan Hou Bin Dai Zhi-Qun Tian 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,5:2

11Planar cell polarity genes, Celsr1-3, in neural development显示文摘flamingo is among the 'core' planar cell-polarity genes, protein of which belongs to a unique cadherin subfamily. In contrast to the classic cadherins, composed of several extracellular cadherin repeats, one transmembrane domain and one cytoplasmic segment linked to catenin binding, Drosophila Flamingo has seven transmembrane segments and a cytoplasmic tail with no catenin-binding sequence. In Drosophila, Flamingo has pleotropic roles in controlling epithelial polarity and neuronal morphogenesis. Three mammalian orthologs of flamingo, Celsr1-3, are widely expressed in the nervous system. Recent work has shown that Celsr1-3 play important roles in neural development, such as in axon guidance, neuronal migration, and cilium polarity. 12Difference between focal mechanisms of Dayao earthquake doublet sequence显示文摘Using the maximum amplitude ratios of vertical component of P and S waves recorded by a regional network, 921 focal mechanisms of Dayao earthquake doublet sequence are determined by means of synthetic seismograms of a point source of dislocation in a plane layered medium.Among them,389 focal mechanisms are in the aftershock sequence of M6.2 earthquake occurred on 21 July,2003 and the other 532 focal mechanisms are in the aftershock sequence of M6.1 earthquake occurred on 16 October,2003 in Dayao,Yunnan.The focal mechanism consistent parameter a of the two aftershock sequences are calculated and analyzed.According to the focal mechanism consistent parameter a,the focal mechanisms of the first aftershock sequence are more consistent than those of the second.According to the comparison of CMT solutions of the two M6 earthquakes,the physical mechanism of the doublet in the intra-plate earthquake is very complex,and many processes are involved and interacted with each other.This doublet provides insights into earthquake clustering,triggering and stress cycling.Xiaoshan Wang Xiangdong Feng Guiling Diao Libing Wang Lingling Cai 2009Earthquake Science2009,22,6:1
13Evaluation and Analysis of Nutrients in Tobacco-Planting Soil in Fuzhou City显示文摘[Objective] The aim was to explore the nutrient status of tobacco-planting soil,and find out the fertilization strategy for flue-cured tobacco. [Method]The nutrient contents in 142 soil samples from 7 tobacco planting counties in Fu Zhou city were determined and evaluated. [Result]The organic matter content was on the high side,and most soil was acid soil. The soil had abundant total nitrogen,total phosphorus and total potassium,moderate available nitrogen and available phosphorus,low available potassium,high water soluble chlorine,low soil cation exchange capacity and rich effective zinc,but effective boron was famine. 17High efficient oxygen reduction performance of Fe/Fe3C nanoparticles in situ encapsulated in nitrogen-doped carbon via a novel microwave-assisted carbon bath method显示文摘Fe-based carbon materials are widely considered promising to replace Pt/C as next-generation electrocatalysts towards oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). However, the preparation of Fe-based carbon materials is still carried out by conventional heating method (CHM). Herein, a novel microwave-assisted carbon bath method (MW-CBM) was proposed, which only took 35 min to synthesize Fe/Fe3C nanoparticles encapsulated in N-doped carbon layers derived from Prussian blue (PB). The catalyst contained large specific surface area and mesoporous structure, abundant Fe-Nx and C–N active sites, unique core-shell structure. Due to the synergistic effects of these features, the as-prepared Fe/Fe3C@NC-2 displayed outstanding ORR activity with onset potential of 0.98 VRHE and halfwave potential of 0.87 VRHE, which were more positive than 20 wt.% Pt/C (0.93 VRHE and 0.82 VRHE). 18Decreased influenza vaccination coverage among Chinese healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic显示文摘Background:Healthcare workers(HCWs)were the priority group for influenza vaccination,in China during the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 influenza seasons.However,vaccination rates in HCWs have always been low.This study investigated influenza vaccination status among Chinese HCWs and analyzed the factors driving vaccination.Methods:We provided electronic questionnaires to HCWs from January 27,2022 to February 21,2022,using the WeChat platform'Breath Circles'.HCWs who received the link could also forward it to their colleagues.Binary logistic regression models were used to analyze vaccination-associated factors among HCWs.Results:Among the 1697 HCWs surveyed,vaccination coverage was 43.7%(741/1697)during the 2020/2021 influenza season,and 35.4%(600/1697)during the 2021/2022 influenza season,as of February 21,2022.Additionally,22.7%(385/1697)and 22.1%(358/1697)of HCWs reported that their workplaces implemented a free vaccination policy for all employees during the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 influenza seasons.HCWs who were required to be vaccinated according to hospital regulations,and whose hospitals implemented the free influenza vaccine policy were more likely to be vaccinated(2020/2021 and 2021/2022;P<0.05).In addition,the economic level of the HCWs'province(2021/2022,P<0.05)and the HCWs’knowledge about vaccination and willingness to get vaccinated,such as active learning about vaccines(2020/2021,P<0.05),supportive attitude toward vaccination for all HCWs(2020/2021 and 2021/2022;P<0.05),also had an impact on vaccine coverage.Conclusions:A free influenza vaccination policy and workplace required vaccination are effective in improving influenza vaccination coverage among HCWs.Influenza vaccination coverage of Chinese HCWs remained low and showed a downward trend after the COVID-19 outbreak.Further effective measures,such as advocacy campaigns,free vaccine policies,and on-site vaccination could be implemented to improve influenza vaccination coverage.Libing Ma Xuan Han Yuan Ma Yuan Yang Yunshao Xu Di Liu Weizhong Yang Luzhao Feng 2022Infectious Diseases of Poverty2022,11,5:1

20Detection and Analysis of Number of Ralstonia solanacearum in Soil before Winter Tillage in Fuzhou Tobacco-growing Area, Jiangxi Province显示文摘[Objective]The paper was to optimize the tobacco planting area in Fuzhou City and to prevent the outbreak of tobacco bacterial wilt in large area.[Method]At the end of 2017,soil samples were collected from plots planned to be planted with tobacco in the following year in Yihuang,Guangchang,Lichuan and Le’an counties.[Result]Among 352 plots,116 plots were infected by Ralstonia solanacearum,while 236 plots were free of the pathogen,and the infected plots accounted for 32.95% of total plots.Among them,75 plots exceeded the order of magnitudes of 103,accounting for 21.31% of total plots and 64.66% of infected plots.It is suggested that the plots with an order of magnitude above 103 should be pretreated with quicklime or purple soil,or conducted crop rotation,or seeds must be directly abandoned;the dosage of biocontrol agents should be increased in planting.The plots with an order of magnitude below 103 should be pretreated with quicklime or purple soil,and the dosage of biocontrol agents should be increased in planting.[Conclusion]The results provide reliable theoretical basis and data support for soil improvement and bacterial wilt control.Zhang Zhigao Hu Liwei Feng Xiaohu Mou Wenjun Wang Libing Zhang Rui 2019Plant Diseases and Pests2019,10,5:1
