1Wnt and BMP signaling crosstalk in regulating dental stem cells:Implications in dental tissue engineering显示文摘Tooth is a complex hard tissue organ and consists of multiple cell types that are regulated by important signaling pathways such as Wnt and BMP signaling.Serious injuries and/or loss of tooth or periodontal tissues may significantly impact aesthetic appearance,essential oral functions and the quality of life.Regenerative dentistry holds great promise in treating oral/dental disorders.The past decade has witnessed a rapid expansion of our understanding of the biological features of dental stem cells,along with the signaling mechanisms governing stem cell self-renewal and differentiation.In this review,we first summarize the biological characteristics of seven types of dental stem cells,including dental pulp stem cells,stem cells from apical papilla,stem cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth,dental follicle precursor cells,periodontal ligament stem cells,alveolar bone-derived mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs),and MSCs from gingiva.We then focus on how these stem cells are regulated by bone morphogenetic protein(BMP)and/or Wnt signaling by examining the interplays between these pathways.Lastly,we analyze the current status of dental tissue engineering strategies that utilize oral/dental stem cells by harnessing the interplays between BMP and Wnt pathways.We also highlight the challenges that must be addressed before the dental stem cells may reach any clinical applications.Thus,we can expect to witness significant progresses to be made in regenerative dentistry in the coming decade.Fugui Zhang Jinlin Song Hongmei Zhang Enyi Huang Dongzhe Song Viktor Tollemar Jing Wang Jinhua Wang Maryam Mohammed Qiang Wei Jiaming Fan Junyi Liao Yulong Zou Feng Liu Xue Hu Xiangyang Qu Liqun Chen Xinyi Yu Hue H.Luu Michael J.Lee Tong-Chuan He Ping Ji 2016Genes & Diseases2016,3,4:16

4Preliminary experimental results by the prototype of Sanya Incoherent Scatter Radar显示文摘In the past decades,the Incoherent Scatter Radar(ISR)has been demonstrated to be one of the most powerful instruments for ionosphere monitoring.The Institute of Geology and Geophysics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences was founded to build a state-ofthe-art phased-array ISR at Sanya(18.3°N,109.6°E),a low-latitude station on Hainan Island,named the Sanya ISR(SYISR).As a first step,a prototype radar system consisting of eight subarrays(SYISR-8)was built to reduce the technical risk of producing the entire large array.In this work,we have summarized the preliminary experimental results based on the SYISR-8.The amplitude and phase among 256 channels were first calibrated through an embedded internal monitoring network.The mean oscillation of the amplitude and phase after calibration were about 1 dB and 5°,respectively,which met the basic requirements.The beam directivity was confirmed by crossing screen of the International Space Station.The SYISR-8 was further used to detect the tropospheric wind profile and meteors.The derived winds were evaluated by comparison with independent radiosonde and balloon-based GPS measurements.The SYISR-8 was able to observe several typical meteor echoes,such as the meteor head echo,range-spread trail echo,and specular trail echo.These results confirmed the validity and reliability of the SYISR-8 system,thereby reducing the technical risk of producing the entire large array of the SYISR to some extent.XinAn Yue WeiXing Wan Han Xiao LingQi Zeng ChangHai Ke BaiQi Ning Feng Ding BiQiang Zhao Lin Jin Chen Li MingYuan Li JunYi Wang HongLian Hao Ning Zhang 2020Earth and Planetary Physics2020,4,6:3
5Cytoplasmic and nuclear genome variations of rice hybrids and their parents inform the trajectory and strategy of hybrid rice breeding显示文摘The male sterility(MS)line is a prerequisite for efficient production of hybrid seeds in rice,a self-pollinating species.MS line breeding is pivotal for hybrid rice improvement.Understanding the historical breeding tra-jectory will help to improve hybrid rice breeding strategies.Maternally inherited cytoplasm is an appro-priate tool for phylogenetic reconstruction and pedigree tracing in rice hybrids.In this study,we analyzed the cytoplasmic genomes of 1495 elite hybrid rice varieties and identified five major types of cytoplasm,which correspond to different hybrid production systems.As the cytoplasm donors for hybrids,461 MS lines were also divided into five major types based on cytoplasmic and nuclear genomic architecture.Spe-cific core accessions cooperating with different fertility-associated genes drove the sequence divergence of MS lines.Dozens to hundreds of convergent and divergent selective sweeps spanning several agro-nomic trait-associated genes were identified among different types of MS lines.We further analyzed the cross patterns between different types of MS lines and their corresponding restorers.This study system-atically analyzed the cytoplasmic genomes of rice hybrids revealed their relationships with nuclear ge-nomes of MS lines,and illustrated the trajectory of hybrid rice breeding and the strategies for breeding different types of MS lines providing new insights for future improvement of hybrid rice.Zhoulin Gu Zhou Zhu Zhen Li Qilin Zhan Qi Feng Congcong Zhou Qiang Zhao Yan Zhao Xiaojian Peng Bingxin Dai Rongrong Sun Yan Li Hengyun Lu Lei Zhang Tao Huang Junyi Gong Danfeng Lv Xuehui Huang Bin Han 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,12:2
6An Incremental Algorithm of Text Clustering Based on Semantic Sequences显示文摘This paper proposed an incremental textclustering algorithm based on semantic sequence. Using similarity relation of semantic sequences and calculating the cover of similarity semantic sequences set, the candidate cluster with minimum entropy overlap value was selected as a result cluster every time in this algorithm. 10Beneficial Effects of Celastrol on Immune Balance by Modulating Gut Microbiota in Experimental Ulcerative Colitis Mice显示文摘Ulcerative colitis(UC)is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease caused by many factors including colonic inflammation and microbiota dysbiosis.Previous studies have indicated that celastrol(CSR)has strong anti-inflammatory and immune-inhibitory effects.Here,we investigated the effects of CSR on colonic inflammation and mucosal immunity in an experimental colitis model,and addressed the mechanism by which CSR exerts the protective effects.We characterized the therapeutic effects and the potential mechanism of CSR on treating UC using histological staining,intestinal permeability assay,cytokine assay,flow cytometry,fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT),16S rRNA sequencing,untargeted metabolomics,and cell differentiation.CSR administration significantly ameliorated the dextran sodium sulfate(DSS)-induced colitis in mice,which was evidenced by the recovered body weight and colon length as well as the decreased disease activity index(DAI)score and intestinal permeability.Meanwhile,CSR down-regulated the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and up-regulated the amount of anti-inflammatory mediators at both mRNA and protein levels,and improved the balances of Treg/Th1 and Treg/Th17 to maintain the colonic immune homeostasis.Notably,all the therapeutic effects were exerted in a gut microbiota-dependent manner.Furthermore,CSR treatment increased the gut microbiota diversity and changed the compositions of the gut microbiota and metabolites,which is probably associated with the gut microbiota-mediated protective effects.In conclusion,this study provides the strong evidence that CSR may be a promising therapeutic drug for UC.Mingyue Li Weina Guo Yalan Dong Wenzhu Wang Chunxia Tian Zili Zhang Ting Yu Haifeng Zhou Yang Gui Kaming Xue Junyi Li Feng Jiang Alexey Sarapultsev Huafang Wang Ge Zhang Shanshan Luo Heng Fan Desheng Hu 2022Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2022,20,2:1

12Controllable design of high-efficiency triboelectric materials by functionalized metal–organic frameworks with a large electronwithdrawing functional group显示文摘Triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)can directly convert mechanical energy into electric energy.However,the triboelectric materials are limited to the triboelectric series.Here,for the first time,we choose the isostructural UiO-66-X(X=H,NH_(2),NO_(2),and Br)family as triboelectric materials to investigate the underlying relationships between different functional groups and the triboelectric performance of TENG.Unlike traditional triboelectric material organic polymers,metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)can be oriented design synthesis and functionalized with various functional groups.The results demonstrate that the largest output voltage and current are from UiO-66-NO_(2) TENG,and are about 23.79 V and 0.29μA,which are 3.19 and 4.14 times over that of the UiO-66 TENG,respectively.The working mechanism of the MOF TENG was discussed in depth through experiments and theoretical calculations.This work proves a novel strategy to obtain high output properties by functionalized MOFs with large electron-withdrawing functional groups and promising guidance for the choice of high-efficiency triboelectric materials.Rongmei Wen Rui Feng Bo Zhao Jiangfeng Song Liming Fan Junyi Zhai 2022Nano Research2022,15,10:1

15Genome assembly and transcriptome analysis provide insights into the antischistosome mechanism of Microtus fortis显示文摘Microtus fortis is the only mammalian host that exhibits intrinsic resistance against Schistosoma japonicum infection.However,the underlying molecular mechanisms of this resistance are not yet known.Here,we perform the first de novo genome assembly of M.fortis,comprehensive gene annotation analysis,and evolution analysis.Furthermore,we compare the recovery rate of schistosomes,pathological changes,and liver transcriptomes between M.fortis and mice at different time points after infection.We observe that the time and type of immune response in M.fortis are different from those in mice.M.fortis activates immune and inflammatory responses on the 10th day post infection,such as leukocyte extravasation,antibody activation,Fc-gamma receptor-mediated phagocytosis,and the interferon signaling cascade,which play important roles in preventing the development of schistosomes.In contrast,an intense immune response occurrs in mice at the late stages of infection and could not eliminate schistosomes.Infected mice suffer severe pathological injury and continuous decreases in cell cycle,lipid metabolism,and other functions.Our findings offer new insights into the intrinsic resistance mechanism of M.fortis against schistosome infection.The genome sequence also provides the basis for future studies of other important traits in M.fortis.Hong Li Zhen Wang Shumei Chai Xiong Bai Guohui Ding Yuanyuan Li Junyi Li Qingyu Xiao Benpeng Miao Weili Lin Jie Feng Mingyue Huang Cheng Gao Bin Li Wei Hu Jiaojiao Lin Zhiqiang Fu Jianyun Xie Yixue Li 2020Journal of Genetics and Genomics2020,47,12:1
16Treatment of Alzheimer’s disease by microcapsule regulates neurotransmitter release via microfluidic technology显示文摘Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is a progressive neurodegenerative disease with a complex etiology.The main neu-ropathological feature is the accumulation of amyloid-beta(Aβ),and the dysregulation of the cholinergic system is well associated with its mechanism of occurrence,for which no effective treatment is yet available.Daily oral administration remains the mainstay of treatment with AD,and how to improve the efficacy,prolong adsorp-tion and medication compliance is still the focus of the current solution.We proposed a microcapsule based on microfluidic electrospray to form an intestinal epithelial lining for AD treatment,reducing the frequency of administration.Microfluidic electrospray technology was recruited to overcome the limitations associated with the variability in the microencapsulation production process and to produce functional microcapsules with finely adapted chemical composition,capsule thickness and encapsulant volume ratio.These microcapsules could slowly release drugs after adhering to the intestine,and their effectiveness and safety were further evaluated using cell culture studies and animal model studies.The results from the in vivo and in vitro experiments showed a significant reduction in administration frequency(i.e.,from daily medication to once every five days),superior therapeutic efficacy and sufficient safety of these microcapsules in cell culture and APP/PS1 mice.These features make the microcapsules an excellent drug delivery system and represent great potential for clinical applications in AD.Weina Yao Junyi Che Cheng Zhao Xiao Zhang Huijuan Zhou Feng Bai 2023Engineered Regeneration2023,4,2:0
17Multimodal critical-scenarios search method for test of autonomous vehicles显示文摘Purpose–The purpose of this paper is to search for the critical-scenarios of autonomous vehicles(AVs)quickly and comprehensively,which is essential for verification and validation(V&V).Design/methodology/approach–The author adopted the index F1 to quantitative critical-scenarios’coverage of the search space and proposed the improved particle swarm optimization(IPSO)to enhance exploration ability for higher coverage.Compared with the particle swarm optimization(PSO),there were three improvements.In the initial phase,the Latin hypercube sampling method was introduced for a uniform distribution of particles.In the iteration phase,the neighborhood operator was adapted to explore more modals with the particles divided into groups.In the convergence phase,the convergence judgment and restart strategy were used to explore the search space by avoiding local convergence.Compared with the Monte Carlo method(MC)and PSO,experiments on the artificial function and critical-scenarios search were carried out to verify the efficiency and the application effect of the method.Findings–Results show that IPSO can search for multimodal critical-scenarios comprehensively,with a stricter threshold and fewer samples in the experiment on critical-scenario search,the coverage of IPSO is 14%higher than PSO and 40%higher than MC.Originality/value–The critical-scenarios’coverage of the search space is firstly quantified by the index F1,and the proposed method has higher search efficiency and coverage for the critical-scenarios search of AVs,which shows application potential for V&V.Tianyue Feng Lihao Liu Xingyu Xing Junyi Chen 2022Journal of Intelligent and Connected Vehicles2022,5,3:0
