1The impact of cleats on hydraulic fracture initiation and propagation in coal seams显示文摘Cleats are systematic, natural fractures in coal seams. They account for most of the permeability and much of the porosity of coalbed methane reservoirs and can have a significant effect on the success of hydraulic fracturing stimulation. Laboratory hydraulic fracturing experiments were conducted on coal blocks under true tri-axial stress to simulate fracturing stimulation of coal seams. Fractures were initiated by injecting a water gel with luminous yellow fluorescent dye into an open hole section of a wellbore. The impact of cleats on initiation and propagation of hydraulic fractures in coal seams is discussed. Three types of hydraulic fracture initiation and propagation pattern were observed in this study: 1) The hydraulic fracture initiated and then grew along the cleat. 2) The hydraulic fracture initiated along a butt cleat or a fracture(natural or induced by drilling) oriented roughly in the minimum horizontal stress direction, then turned to propagate along the first face cleat that it encountered or gradually turned towards the maximum horizontal stress direction. 3) The hydraulic fracture initiated perpendicular to the minimum stress and, when it encountered a face cleat, tended to propagate along the cleats if the extension direction does not deviate greatly(<20° as determined in this paper) from the maximum horizontal stress direction. When a coal seam is hydraulically fractured, the resulting fracture network is controlled by the combined effect of several factors: cleats determine the initiation and extension path of the fracture, the in-situ stress state dominates the main direction of the fracture zone and bedding planes impede fracture height growth.Fan Tiegang Zhang Guangqing Cui Jinbang 2014Petroleum Science2014,11,4:14

5A Novel Zero-Watermark Copyright Authentication Scheme Based on Lifting Wavelet and Harris Corner Detection显示文摘In this paper,a novel zero-watermark copyright authentication scheme based on Internet public certification system is proposed.This approach utilizes Haar integer wavelet transform based on a lifting scheme and adaptive Harris corner detection to extract image features,which will be used to produce a binary feature map,and the map is very crucial to the generation of watermark registered later.By properly choosing the parameters of aforementioned techniques such as the threshold T and the radius of local feature region R,the feature map is so much more stable and distinguishing that it can be used to construct robust watermark.Simulations demonstrate that the proposed scheme is resistant to many kinds of signal processing and malicious attacks such as Gaussian blurring,additive noising,JPEG lossy compression,cropping,scaling and slight rotation operation.Compared with a relative scheme such as that of Chang's,the scheme in this paper is more practicable and reliable and can be applied to the area of copyright protection.FAN Li GAO Tiegang YANG Qunting 2010Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences2010,15,5:1

8Structural and functional characteristics of microbiota in oropharynx of sub-healthy children with gastrointestinal heat retention syndrome differentiated by traditional Chinese medicine显示文摘Objective:To explore the structural and functional characteristics of microbiota in oropharynx of subhealthy children with gastrointestinal heat retention syndrome(GHRS)differentiated by traditional Chinese medicine,and screen the biometric operational taxonomic units(OTUs)to assist the clinical diagnosis.Methods:We recruited children according to the“GHRS diagnostic scale”,collected their oropharyngeal swabs,and sequenced the 16 SrDNA V4 region.We described the bacterial structure with alpha-indexes,beta-distances,and relative abundances;moreover,we screened the differential genera/OTUs with Wilcoxon rank-sum test,Metagenome Seq analysis,and linear discriminant analysis effect size(LEf Se)analysis,in which biometric OTUs were selected to construct the receiver operating characteristic curve to verify the diagnostic value.The bacterial function was predicted with Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathways according to 16S rDNA gene by using Phylogenetic Investigation of Communities by Reconstruction of Unobserved States.Results:The study population was composed of 10 children with GHRS and 10 healthy control children.GHRS children were more likely to overeat(gluttony,P=.033).Alpha-indexes,such as Sobs,abundancebased coverage estimator,Bootstrap,and Qstat,were significantly higher in the GHRS group,while betadistances did not exhibit any significant intergroup differences.There were 9 differently distributed nonpredominant genera between the groups in Wilcoxon rank-sum test,as well as 13 non-predominant genera in Metagenome Seq analysis and 3 non-predominant OTUs in LEfSe analysis.OTU44 and OTU196 were used to construct the receiver operating characteristic curve,and the area under curve was 0.92.Predicted functions showed that pathways related to oxidative phosphorylation and carbon metabolism were enriched in healthy control samples,while the pathway related to renin secretion was remarkably enriched in GHRS samples.Conclusion:Unique oropharyngeal microbial structure and function were identified in GHRS children.OTU44 and OTU196 were specific OTUs,which could be used as biomarkers of GHRS to assist clinical diagnosis.Jianhua Zhen He Yu Xiaofei Li Fei Dong Zi'an Zheng Xueyan Ma Yuxiang Wan Tiegang Liu Lu Fan Xiaohong Gu 2022Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2022,9,3:1

11A High-Order Direct Discontinuous Galerkin Method for Variable Density Incompressible Flows显示文摘In this work,we develop a novel high-order discontinuous Galerkin(DG)method for solving the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations with variable density.The incompressibility constraint at cell interfaces is relaxed by an artificial compressibility term.Then,since the hyperbolic nature of the governing equations is recovered,the simple and robust Harten-Lax-van Leer(HLL)flux is applied to discrete the inviscid term of the variable density incompressible Navier-Stokes equations.The viscous term is discretized by the direct DG(DDG)method,the construction of which was initially inspired by the weak solution of a scalar diffusion equation.In addition,in order to eliminate the spurious oscillations around sharp density gradients,a local slope limiting operator is also applied during the highly stratified flow simulations.The convergence property and performance of the present high-order DDG method are well demonstrated by several benchmark and challenging numerical test cases.Due to its advantages of simplicity and robustness in implementation,the present method offers an effective approach for simulating the variable density incompressible flows.Fan Zhang Tiegang Liu 2022Communications in Computational Physics2022,32,8:0
