| 1 | Diabetes mellitus as a risk factor for gastrointestinal cancer among American veterans显示文摘AIM:To assess the risk of biliary and pancreatic cancers in a large cohort of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(DM) .METHODS:Eligibility for this study included patients with type 2 DM(ICD-9 code 250.0) who were discharged from Department of Veteran Affairs hospitals between 1990 and 2000.Non-matched control patients without DM were selected from the same patient treatment files during the same period.Demographic information included age,sex and race.Secondary diagnoses included known risk factors based on their ICD-9 codes.By multivariate logistic regression,the occurrence of biliary and pancreatic cancer was compared between case subjects with DM and controls without DM.RESULTS:A total of 1172496 case and control subjects were analyzed.The mean age for study and control subjects was 65.8 ± 11.3 and 64.8 ± 12.6 years,respectively.The frequency of pancreatic cancer in subjects with DM was increased(0.9%) in comparison to control subjects(0.3%) with an OR of 3.22(95% CI:3.03-3.42) .The incidence of gallbladder andextrahepatic biliary cancers was increased by twofold in diabetic patients when compared to controls.The OR and 95% CI were 2.20(1.56-3.00) and 2.10(1.61-2.53) ,respectively.CONCLUSION:Our study demonstrated that patients with DM have a threefold increased risk for developing pancreatic cancer and a twofold risk for developing biliary cancer. | M Mazen Jamal Eugene J Yoon Kenneth J Vega Mehrtash Hashemzadeh Kenneth J Chang | 2009 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2009，15，42： | 10 |
| 2 | Recent advances in mass spectrometry-based proteomics of gastric cancer显示文摘The last decade has witnessed remarkable technological advances in mass spectrometry-based proteomics. The development of proteomics techniques has enabled the reliable analysis of complex proteomes, leading to the identification and quantification of thousands of proteins in gastric cancer cells, tissues, and sera. This quantitative information has been used to profile the anomalies in gastric cancer and provide insights into the pathogenic mechanism of the disease. In this review, we mainly focus on the advances in mass spectrometry and quantitative proteomics that were achieved in the last five years and how these up-andcoming technologies are employed to track biochemical changes in gastric cancer cells. | 4 | 不同含量碳水化合物饮食对大鼠心脏和脑18^F-FDG摄取的影响显示文摘目的探讨不同含量碳水化合物饮食对大鼠心脏和脑组织18F-FDG摄取的影响。方法以标准饮食饲养2周后,保持饮食总能量不变,将15只Wistar大鼠随机分为3组:低碳水化合物组(LC)、中碳水化合物组(IC)和高碳水化合物组(HC);每组大鼠每种饮食饲养4周后,对动物行18F-FDGPET全身显像,于第2天尾静脉取血测定酮体、葡萄糖、胰岛素和胰高血糖素的含量。图像经计算机处理,获取心脏和脑的最大标准摄取值(SUVmax)。结果心脏SUVmax分别为:LC组3.27±0.43,IC组10.92±0.89,HC组10.95±0.81;脑SUVmax:LC组4.78±0.19,IC组4.04±0.15,HC组3.77±0.24。LC组与IC和HC组之间的差异均有统计学意义(P<0.001),IC和HC组间差异无统计学意义。LC组酮体为(726.10±65.95)μmol/L,约为IC和HC组的6~7倍;血清酮体水平与心脏SUVmax呈负相关(r=-0.764,P<0.001),与脑SUVmax呈正相关(r=0.569,P<0.001);各组间血清胰岛素、血糖和胰高血糖素的差异均无统计学意义。结论长期极低碳水化合物饮食使大鼠心脏对FDG的摄取明显降低,而脑组织对葡萄糖的摄取略有增加。 | 缪蔚冰 王荣福 BLAUFOX M Donald FINE Eugene J KOBA Wade | 2009 | 中国医学影像技术2009，，7： | 4 |

| 8 | Recent advances in the diagnostic evaluation of pancreatic cystic lesions显示文摘Pancreatic cystic lesions(PCLs)are becoming more prevalent due to more frequent abdominal imaging and the increasing age of the general population.It has become crucial to identify these PCLs and subsequently risk stratify them to guide management.Given the high morbidity associated with pancreatic surgery,only those PCLs at high risk for malignancy should undergo such treatment.However,current diagnostic testing is suboptimal at accurately diagnosing and risk stratifying PCLs.Therefore,research has focused on developing new techniques for differentiating mucinous from non-mucinous PCLs and identifying high risk lesions for malignancy.Cross sectional imaging radiomics can potentially improve the predictive accuracy of primary risk stratification of PCLs at the time of detection to guide invasive testing.While cyst fluid glucose has reemerged as a potential biomarker,cyst fluid molecular markers have improved accuracy for identifying specific types of PCLs.Endoscopic ultrasound guided approaches such as confocal laser endomicroscopy and through the needle microforceps biopsy have shown a good correlation with histopathological findings and are evolving techniques for identifying and risk stratifying PCLs.While most of these recent diagnostics are only practiced at selective tertiary care centers,they hold a promise that management of PCLs will only get better in the future. | Devarshi R Ardeshna Troy Cao Brandon Rodgers Chidiebere Onongaya Dan Jones Wei Chen Eugene J Koay Somashekar G Krishna | 2022 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2022，28，6： | 3 |
