1Numerical study on dynamic mechanism of brain volume and shear deformation under blast loading显示文摘Blast-induced traumatic brain injury(b-TBI)is a kind of significant injury to soldiers in the current military conflicts.However,the mechanism of b-TBI has not been well understood,and even there are some contradictory conclusions.It is crucial to reveal the dynamic mechanism of brain volume and shear deformations under blast loading for better understanding of b-TBI.In this paper,the numerical simulation method is adopted to carry out comprehensive and in-depth researches on this issue for the first time.Based on the coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian method,the fluid-structure coupling model of the blast wave and human head is developed to simulate two situations,namely the head subjected to the frontal and lateral impacts.The simulation results are analyzed to obtain the underlying dynamic mechanisms of brain deformation.The brain volume deformation is dominated by the local bending vibration of the skull,and the corresponding frequency for the forehead skull under the frontal impact and the lateral skull faced to the lateral impact is as high as 8 kHz and 5 kHz,respectively.This leads to the high-frequency fluctuation of brain pressure and the large pressure gradient along the skull,totally different from the dynamic response of brain under head collisions.While the brain shear deformation mainly depends on the relative tangential displacement between the skull and brain and the anatomical structure of inner skull,being not related to the brain pressure and its gradient.By further comparing the medical statistics,it is inferred that diffuse axonal injury and brain contusion,the two most common types of b-TBI,are mainly attributed to brain shear deformations.And the von Mises stress can be adopted as the indicator for these two brain injuries.This study can provide theoretical guidance for the diagnosis of b-TBI and the development of protective equipment.Zhijie Li Zhibo Du Xiaochuan You Zhanli Liu Jian Cheng Chengcheng Luo Dongyang Chu Shaowu Ning Yue Kang Ce Yang Zhuo Zhuang 2019Acta Mechanica Sinica2019,35,5:3
2A new modified canine model of portal vein thrombosis显示文摘Portal vein thrombosis (PVT) is a common complication of liver cirrhosis. Gao et al. [1] reported that the prevalence of PVT in patients with cirrhosis is 8.82%. With the rapid developments in image-based diagnostic technology, the diagnosis rate of PVT is gradually increasing [2]. A follow-up study of 1243 patients with cirrhosis revealed that the cumulative incidences of PVT at 1, 3, and 5 years are 4.6%, 8.2%, and 10.7%, respectively [3]. PVT is a life-threatening factor for patients with cirrhosis, leading to portal hypertension and aggravating gastrointestinal hemorrhage [4]. The prevention of PVT has become a focus of clinical concern nowadays. It is well known that the establishment of animal models is the basis of scientific research. However, it is currently difficult to establish PVT models in large animals. Thereby, the establishment of a stable PVT animal model to study PVT is urgent and significant. We successfully established a new canine model of PVT involving the injection of an autologous thrombus through an indwelling catheter in the portal vein. 3Spatiotemporal characteristics and remote sensing estimation of colored dissolved organic matter around the Leizhou Peninsula显示文摘Colored dissolved organic matter(CDOM)is an important optically active substance in marine environment.Its biochemical conservatism makes it an important indicator to offshore pollution process.Monitoring the content,composition,and diffusion process of CDOM is a good approach to analyze the terrestrial input,optical properties,and ecological environment of offshore areas.The spatiotemporal characteristics of CDOM around the Leizhou Peninsula were analyzed based on field observation data collected in the autumn 2020 and spring 2021,and an empirical inversion model of the ag(355)(absorption coefficient at 355 nm)and spectral slope(Sg)(g stands for gelbstoff/gilvin,which is called CDOM)based on Sentinel-3A ocean and land color instrument(OLCI)images was constructed.The results show(1)the order of average ag(355)value around the Leizhou Peninsula was east coast(0.503/m)>Qiongzhou Strait(0.502/m)>west coast(0.365/m);(2)the best band combinations of CDOM inversion in spring and autumn were(B4+B11)/B3 and(B7-B1)/B6(B stands for the band of spectral images),and the final inversion results are close to the measured results,indicating that the model has good accuracy;(3)the S_(g)value of the CDOM absorption spectrum was fitted to the hyperbolicexponential model.The fitting accuracy of the model was higher than those of the exponential model and the hyperbolic model,and the best S_(g)inversion model was constructed by selecting Sg(275-295)and Sg(250-295)in spring and autumn;(4)the spatial distributions of ag(355)and S_(g)were inverted,and CDOM in the waters around the Leizhou Peninsula originated from terrestrial organic matter carried by coastal aquaculture zones and runoff in the northeast Zhanjiang and the northern Beibu Gulf.Dongyang FU Shiyun WEI Guo YU Yafei LUO Huabing XU Zhaoguang CHEN 2023Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2023,41,4:0
4Dynamics and diversity of symbiotic bacteria in Apolygus lucorum at different developmental stages显示文摘Background Apolygus lucorum is a worldwide omnivorous pest damaging a range of crops and causing great economic losses.Symbiotic bacteria living in insects play a key role in the nutrition,physiology,and behavior of hosts.Here,we present an experiment using Illumina HiSeq sequencing targeting the V3–V4 regions of bacteria’s 16S rRNA throughout the entire life cycle of A.lucorum.Results The first and second instar nymphs have the largest alpha diversity compared with other life stages of the insect.Bacterial phyla Proteobacteria(72.29%),Firmicutes(15.24%),Actinobacteria(7.76%)exhibit the largest relative abundance in all developmental stages.Erwinia(23.97%)and Lactococcus(10.62%)are the two genera with the high-est relative abundance.The relative abundance of Erwinia in the nymph stage is significantly greater than the adult stage,and the relative abundance of Lactococcus in 6-day-old and 9-day-old adult females is higher compared with adult males.Conclusions These results reveal that microbial community composition and relative abundance shift dynamically at different life stages,implying that different bacterial phyla and genera may have specific roles in specific life stages such as metabolism,nutrition absorption,detoxification,and reproduction.This study reveals for the first time the community composition and ecological dynamics of symbiotic bacteria throughout the life stages of A.lucorum,and thus may provide insight to new strategies for pest control.XUE Hui ZHU Xiangzhen WANG Li ZHANG Kaixin LI Dongyang JI Jichao NIU Lin GAO Xueke LUO Junyu CUI Jinjie 2023Journal of Cotton Research2023,6,1:0
5Application Effect of Pesticide Synergist‘Jijian' on Wheat Stripe Rust显示文摘The aim of this study is to clarify the application effect of pesticide decrement synergist‘Jijian'on wheat stripe rust. Sampling investigation,randomized block design and statistic analysis were carried out to find out the field efficacy of adding‘Jijian'to triadimefon WP and propiconazole EC on controlling wheat stripe rust. The results showed that during the epidemic period of stripe rust,the control effects on the 7^(th) and the 19^(th)d reached more than 93% and 100%,respectively,by the application of 15% triadimefon WP of 1 200 g/hm^2 and 25% propiconazole EC of 600 mlhm^2,respectively for 2 times; when 15% triadimefon WP of 840 g/hm^2+ ‘Jijian'of 225 g/hm^2 or 25% propiconazole EC of 420 mlhm^2+‘Jijian'of 225 g/hm^2 were applied( adding‘Jijian'and reducing the dosage of the 2 pesticides by 30%),the control effect on the 7 thd was 89. 4% and 91. 7%,respectively,while the control effect on the 19^(th)d was 99. 8-100%; when15% triadimefon WP of 720-600 g/hm^2+ ‘Jijian'of 225 g/hm^2 or 25% propiconazole EC 360-300 mlhm^2+‘Jijian'of 225 g/hm^2 were applied( adding‘Jijian'and reducing the dosage of the 2 pesticides by 40%-50%),the control effect on the 7^(th)day reached more than 78. 0%,while the control effect on the 19 th day was 97. 7%-99. 8%. There was no significant difference on the control effect at the 7^(th)d between the treatments using the 2 pesticides alone and the treatments adding‘Jijian'and reducing the dosage of the 2 pesticides by 30%,but all had significant differences from the treatments adding‘Jijian'and reducing the dosage of the 2 pesticides by 40%-50%. There was no significant difference on the control effect of the 19 thd among different treatments. 6Impact assessment of genetically modified herbicide-tolerant cotton on arthropod communities显示文摘Background:Cotton(Gossypium spp.)is one of the most important economic crops worldwide,and its production plays an important role in the economy of many countries.Genetically modified herbicide-tolerant(GMHT)crops,which were developed to minimize the losses caused by weeds,have gradually become the most widely adopted genetically modified crops in the world due to their economic and environmental benefits.However,the potential ecological and environmental risks of GMHT crops have attracted extensive attention and controversy.Arthropod communities form a promine nt part of the biodiversity of agroecosystems and are important indicators of environmental health.Elucidating the effects of GMHT crops on the diversity of arthropod communities is necessary to ensure the safety of GMHT crops.Result:In this 2-year study,we investigated the potential impact of GMHT crops on arthropod communities.The GMHT cotton variety GGK2 with glyphosate tolerance and its near-isogenic non-GMHT variety K312 were used for the experimental groups.The Shannon diversity index(H),Simpson diversity index(D),Pielou evenness index(J),and principal co-ordinates analysis(PCoA)of the Bray-Curtis distance were used to evaluate the population dynamics and biodiversity of arthropods in cotton fields.No significant differences were found between GGK2 and K312 in their total abundance of arthropod communities,and biodiversity indexes on most sampling dates.The arthropod composition in the GGK2 and K312 plots was similar.Sampling elates had a significant effect on biodiversity indexes,whereas no clear tendencies related to cotton variety or cotton variety x sampling elates interaction were recorded.In addition,PCoA revealed high similarity between the arthropod communities in the plots of the GMHT cotton variety GGK2 and its near-isogenic variety K312.Conclusion:There was no obvious difference in abundance,diversity indexes of arthropod communities between GMHT cotto n variety GGK2 and its near-isogenic variety K312 under the small-scale plan ting regime.LI Dongyang ZHU Xiangzhen ZHANG Kaixin WANG Li ZHANG Rui LIANG Chengzhen LUO Junyu CUI Jinjie 2022Journal of Cotton Research2022,5,2:0

8Comparative transcriptional analysis and identification of hub genes associated with wing differentiation of male in Aphis gossypii显示文摘Background:Aphis gossypii Glover(Hemiptera:Aphididae),a worldwide polyphagous phloem-feeding agricultural pest,has three wing morphs(winged parthenogenetic female,gynopara,and male)in the life cycle.The exclusive males could fly from summer hosts to winter hosts,which are essential for gene exchanges of cotton aphid populations from different hosts or regions.However,the molecular mechanism of wing differentiation of male in A.gossypii remains unclear.Results:Morphological observation of male A.gossypii showed that there is no distinct difference in the external morphologies of the 1st and 2nd instar nymphs.The obvious differentiation of wing buds started in the 3rd instar nymph and was visible via naked eyes in the 4th instar nymphal stage,then adult male emerged with full wings.According to morphological dynamic changes,the development of wings in males were divided into four stages:preliminary stage(the 1st instar to 2nd instar),prophase(the 3rd instar),metaphase(the 4th instar),anaphase(the 5th instar).Results of feeding behavior monitoring via EPG(electrical penetration graph)technology indicated that although the male cotton aphids had strong desire to feed(longer duration of C 55.24%,F 5.05%and Pd waves 2.56%),its feeding efficiency to summer host cotton was low(shorter E13.56%and E2 waves 2.63%).Dynamic transcriptome analysis of male aphid at 5 different developmental periods showed that in the 3rd instar nymph,the number of up-regulated DEGs was significant increased,and time-course gene transcriptional pattern analyses results also showed that numerous genes categorized in clusters 3,5,and 8 had the highest expressed levels,which were consistent with morphological changes of wing buds.These results indicate that the 3rd instar nymph is the critical stage of wing bud differentiation in males.Furthermore,through pathway enrichment analysis of DEGs and WGCNA,it revealed that the neuroactive ligand-receptor interaction,Ras signaling pathway,dopaminergic synapse,circadian entrainment and the corresponding hub genes of PLK1,BUB1,SMC2,TUBG,ASPM,the kinesin family members(KIF23,KIF20,KIF18-19)and the novel subfamily of serine/threonine(Aurora kinase A and Aurora kinase B)probably played an important role in the critical stage of wing bud differentiation.Conclusion:This study explored morphological changes and genes transcriptional dynamics males in cotton aphid,revealed the phenomenon of low feeding efficiency of winged males on summer host cotton,and identified key signaling pathways and potential hub genes potentially involved in wing bud differentiation of male in A.gossypii.HUANGFU Ningbo SHI Qingyu CHEN Lulu MA Xiaoyan ZHANG Kaixin LI Dongyang WANG Li ZHU Xiangzhen JI Jichao LUO Junyu CUI Jinjie 2022Journal of Cotton Research2022,5,3:0
9Achieving Superior Superplasticity in a Mg-6Al-Zn Plate via Multi-pass Submerged Friction Stir Processing显示文摘A large-scale Mg-6Al-Zn plate was prepared by multi-pass submerged friction stir processing(M-SFSP)and its superplastic deformation behavior was investigated.The maximum elongation of 467%,332%and 421%was attained for the samples oriented in the processing direction(PD),45°tilted toward the PD,and transverse direction(TD),respectively,when deformed at 623 K and a strain rate of 1×10^(−3) s^(−1).This was attributed to the homogeneous and fine-grained structure with mostly high-angle grain boundaries facilitating the prevalent deformation mechanism of grain boundary sliding,along with the weakened texture and dynamic recrystallization during hot deformation.Xicai Luo Haolin Liu Limei Kang Jielin Lin Datong Zhang Dongyang Li Daolun Chen 2022Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2022,35,5:0
