1Mapping wetland changes in China between 1978 and 2008显示文摘Four wetland maps for all China have been produced,based on Landsat and CBERS-02B remote sensing data between 1978 and 2008 (1978,1990,2000 and 2008).These maps were mainly developed by manual interpretation and validated by substantial field investigation in 2009.Based on these maps,we analyzed the 2008 wetland distribution in China and discussed wetland changes and their drivers over the past 30 years.(i) There were about 324097 km 2 of wetlands in 2008,for which inland marshes or swamps were the most common wetland type (35%),with lakes (26%) second.Most of the wetlands were in Heilongjiang,Inner Mongolia,Qinghai and Tibet,occupying about 55% of the national wetland area.(ii) From 1978 to 2008,China's wetland area continually and significantly decreased,by about 33% based on changes in the wetland map.This was in sharp contrast to the increase in artificial wetlands,which increased by about 122%.Inland marshes accounted for the main loss of total wetlands from 1978 to 2000.From 2000 through 2008,riverine and lacustrine wetlands constituted the main wetland loss.Fortunately however,the rate of wetland loss decreased from 5523 to 831 km 2 /a.(iii) The change ratio of lost natural wetlands (including inland and coastal wetlands) to non-wetlands has decreased slightly over the past 30 years.From 1978 to 1990,nearly all natural wetlands (98%) lost were transformed into non-wetlands.However,the ratio declined to 86% from 1990 to 2000,and to 77% from 2000 to 2008.(iv) All Chinese provinces were divided into three groups according to patterns of wetland changes,which could relate to the driving forces of such changes.Tibet was completely different from other provinces,as it was one representative example in which there was a net wetland increase,because of global warming and decreased human activity since 1990.Increased economic development caused considerable wetland loss in most eastern provinces,and artificial wetlands increased.NIU ZhenGuo ZHANG HaiYing WANG XianWei YAO WenBo ZHOU DeMin ZHAO KuiYi ZHAO Hui LI NaNa HUANG HuaBing LI CongCong YANG Jun LIU CaiXia LIU Shuang WANG Lin LI Zhan YANG ZhenZhong QIAO Fei ZHENG YaoMin CHEN YanLei SHENG YongWei GAO XiaoHong ZHU WeiHong WANG WenQing WANG Hong WENG YongLing ZHUANG DaFang LIU JiYuan LUO ZhiCai CHENG Xiao GUO ZiQi GONG Peng 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,22:51
2Resilience-based retrofitting of existing urban RC-frame buildings using seismic isolation显示文摘The improvement of the seismic resilience of existing reinforced-concrete(RC) frame buildings, which is essential for the seismic resilience of a city, has become a critical issue. Although seismic isolation is an effective method for improving the resilient performance of such buildings, target-oriented quantitative improvements of the resilient performance of these buildings have been reported rarely. To address this gap, the seismic resilience of two existing RC frame buildings located in a high seismic intensity region of China were assessed based on the Chinese Standard for Seismic Resilience Assessment of Buildings. The critical engineering demand parameters(EDPs) affecting the seismic resilience of such buildings were identified. Subsequently, the seismic resilience of buildings retrofitted with different isolation schemes(i.e., yield ratios) were evaluated and compared, with emphasis on the relationships among yield ratios, EDPs, and levels of seismic resilience. Accordingly, to achieve the highest level of seismic resilience with respect to the Chinese standard, a yield ratio of 3% was recommended and successfully applied to the target-oriented design for the seismic-resilience improvement of an existing RC frame building. 3Reactivity of Al-rich Alloys with Water Promoted by Liquid Al Grain Boundary Phases显示文摘Al–Ga–Sn, Al–Ga–In and Al–Ga–In–Sn alloys were prepared using arc melting technique. Their microstructures were investigated by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersed X-ray. Based on microstructure analysis, the phase constituents of alloys at Al grain boundaries were identi?ed. The melting points of Al grain boundary phases were measured using differential scanning calorimeter.The reactivities of Al–water at different water temperatures indicate that liquid Al grain boundary phases promote Al–water reactions of alloys. The melting points of Al grain boundary phases affect the reaction temperatures of Al–water, leading to different reaction temperatures of alloys. The measured H2 generation rate and yields of alloys are related to the compositions of alloys. 5Experimental and computational investigations of LaNi(5-x)Alx (x = 0,0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and 1.0) tritium-storage alloys显示文摘Although already scientists in recent years have reported some experimental and theoretical results of LaNi-Al series of tritium-storage alloys, several key aspects remain the subject of considerable debate. In an effort to interpret some of these unknowns, we have performed experimental and theoretical investigations for LaNi_(5-x)Al_x(x = 0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and 1.0) tritium-storage alloys. Firstly, the XRD characterization indicates that the unit cell volumes of LaNi_(5-x)Al_x increase with Al content in alloys. Secondly, the PCisotherm measurement of LaNi_(5-x)Al_xalloys shows that their hydrogen absorption/desorption plateau pressures reduce with the increase of Al content while their plateau widths narrow simultaneously. The deuterium absorption/desorption plateaus have a similar trend to hydrogen's except for their plateaus being higher than hydrogen's. To explain the above experimental findings, a series of calculations based on density functional theory(DFT) and frozen phonon approach have been performed. The results manifest that:(1) the partial substitutions of Al for Ni reduce the hydrogen formation energies of LaNi_(5-x)Al_xH and the number of available interstitial sites, and therefore lead to the absorption/desorption plateau pressures being reduced and the plateau widths being narrowed down at the same experimental temperatures;(2) the covalent interaction between H and Ni is an important factor for estimating the stability of LaNi_(5-x)Al_x-H system;(3) since the calculated enthalpy change H is generally more accurate than the calculated entropy change S with respect to the corresponding experimental value for each LaNi_(5-x)Al_xH(or D), the curves of H vs. hydrogen storage capacity instead of Van't Hoff relation, can be used to predict the experimental plateau pressures of LaNi_(5-x)Al_x-H(D or T) at a given temperature;(4) the hydrogen isotope effect of LaNi_(5-x)Al_x-H(D or T) system can be quantitatively described as a linearity relation between ⊿ZPE + ⊿H^(vib) and 1/√mQ(Q = H, D, T). From the good agreement between the predicted and experimental ln(P_H/P_0) and ln(P_D/P_0), it is deduced that predicting ln(P_T/P_0) of LaNi_(5-x)Al_x T is feasible. 6Mg AmorphousZr_(0.9)Ti_(0.1)(Ni_(0.57)Mn_(0.28)V_(0.1)Co_(0.05))_(2.1)Composite for Hydrogen Storage显示文摘The reactive mechanical alloying (RMA) method was used to produce Mg-40 wt pct amorphous Zr0.9Ti0.1(Ni0.57-Mn0.25V0.1Co0.05)2.1 composite in this study, and the absorption/desorption property of the composite was improved remarkably. The composite possessed excellent kinetic properties even at moderate temperature (393 K) without activation. 7Effect of TiN diffusion barrier on elements interdiffusion behavior of Ni/GH3535 system in LiF-NaF-KF molten salt at 700℃显示文摘A TiN interlayer with high electrical conductivity was prepared between the GH3535 alloy and the Ni coating as a diffusion barrier to elements interdiffusion with the goal of increasing the corrosion resistance of GH3535 alloy in molten FLiNaK salt at 700℃.Results indicated that Ni coating could be directly electroplated on the TiN coated GH3535 alloy without extra conductive transition layer.TiN layer showed excellent thermal and chemical stabilities at elevated temperature in this molten salt system,without phase decomposition.The Ni/TiN composite coating was stable enough to resist corrosion in LiF-NaF-KF molten salt at 700℃.Elements interdiffusion between the substrate and Ni coating could be effectively inhibited and the corrosion resistance of the alloy was greatly enhanced.Besides,the TiN interlayer remained continuous and well adhered to the Ni coating as well as the substrate after corrosion test.Chengxu Wang Wei Chen Minghui Chen Demin Chen Ke Yang Fuhui Wang 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,42,10:2
8CD38 deficiency alleviates Ang II-induced vascular remodeling by inhibiting small extracellular vesicle-mediated vascular smooth muscle cell senescence in mice显示文摘CD38 is the main enzyme for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NAD)degradation in mammalian cells.Decreased NAD levels are closely related to metabolic syndromes and aging-related diseases.Our study showed that CD38 deficiency significantly alleviated angiotensin II(Ang ll)-induced vascular remodeling in mice,as shown by decreased blood pressures;reduced vascular media thickness,media-to-lumen ratio,and collagen deposition;and restored elastin expression.However,our bone marrow transplantation assay showed that CD38 deficiency in lymphocytes led to lack of protection against Ang ll-induced vascular remodeling,suggesting that the effects of CD38 on Ang ll-induced vascular remodeling might rely primarily on vascular smooth muscle cells(VSMCs),not lymphocytes.In addition,we observed that CD38 deficiency or NAD supplementation remarkably mitigated Ang ll-induced vascular senescence by suppressing the biogenesis,secretion,and internalization of senescence-associated small extracellular vesicles(SA-sEVs),which facilitated the senescence of neighboring non-damaged VSMCs.Furthermore,we found that the protective effects of CD38 deficiency on VSMC senescence were related to restoration of lysosome dysfunction,particularly with respect to the maintenance of sirtuin-mediated mitochondrial homeostasis and activation of the mitochondria-lysosomal axis in VSMCs.In conclusion,our findings demonstrated that CD38 and its associated intracellular NAD decline are critical for Ang ll-induced VSMC senescence and vascular remodeling.Lu Gan Demin Liu Jing Liu Erya Chen Chan Chen Lian Liu Hang Hu Xiaohui Guan Wen Ma Yanzi Zhang Yarong He Bofu Liu Songling Tang Wei Jiang Jianxin Xue Hongbo Xin 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,7:2
9Climatic regionalization mapping of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area,Australia显示文摘In this study,spatial analysis techniques were used to generate climatic zoning maps of the East Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area(MIA), Australia.Long term climate data were used to analyze and assess regional climatic variation by cluster analysis in a GIS environment. Based on thermal and moisture factors,four variables were chosen to develop climate zones.These variables include annual average rainfalls, annual average ETc,annual average Growing Day Degree(GDD) and daily average temperature generated from daily climate data of 36 years(1971-2006) on 12 local weather stations as the fundamental elements of regional climate characteristics.GIS-based spatial analysis models are used to map climate sub-regions from sets of climatic parameters derived from regional climate data sources.Two climate zoning schemes are presented by integration of spatial interpolation,spatial cluster analysis and climate indices methods.One scheme comes with the two climate zones of the West and the East based on spatial cluster analysis according to selected climatic variables, and the other comes with the three comprehensive hydro-thermal zones and the six hydro-thermal balance zones.Demin Zhou Shahbaz Khan Akhtar Abbas Tariq Rana Haiying Zhang Yun Chen 2009Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2009,19,12:1

11The Authority Structure of Environmental Regulation under the Codification of Environmental Law显示文摘When developing and integrating a new environmental legal system under the Environmental Code,the joint regulation of ecology and environment,natural resources and an energy beyond the sphere of mere environmental concerns can be achieved;the semantic expression of environmental regulation can be expounded.Additionally,through the codification of environmental law,a revolutionary path for the structure of authority can be found.Environmental codification dictates a method for clarification of the boundaries and relations of environmental management authority.Under the theory of Holistic Governance and in the codification process,the reform of environmental regulation authority should be concluded from both vertical and horizontal dimensions,through organizing,integrating,separating,classifying and finally,by establishing a synergy between the central and local governments and their departments.This can break down structural barriers to communication and cooperation of the ecological regulation and resource management authority and help establish uniformity of environmental regulation.Chen Demin Zhou Xian 2020学术界2020,,11:1

14An amorphous carbon-graphite composite cathode for long cycle life rechargeable aluminum ion batteries显示文摘Natural graphite is investigated as the cathode for aluminum ion batteries in recent years. However,some drawbacks of the natural graphite such as severe volume swelling shorten its lifetime. In this work, we prepared a composite material by depositing an amorphous carbon on the graphite paper. The composite was used as a cathode to study the electrochemical performance in aluminum ion batteries.The charge/discharge results showed that the composite could exhibit a longer cycle life than the graphite paper. 18Contrasting patterns of bacterial communities in the rearing water and gut of Penaeus vannamei in response to exogenous glucose addition显示文摘Supplementing exogenous carbon sources is a practical approach to improving shrimp health by manipulating the microbial communities of aquaculture systems. However, little is known about the microbiological processes and mechanisms of these systems. Here, the effects of glucose addition on shrimp growth performance and bacterial communities of the rearing water and the shrimp gut were investigated to address this knowledge gap. The results showed that glucose addition significantly improved the growth and survival of shrimp. Although the α-diversity indices of both bacterioplankton communities and gut microbiota were significantly decreased by adding glucose, both bacterial communities exhibited divergent response patterns to glucose addition. Glucose addition induced a dispersive bacterioplankton community but a more stable gut bacterial community. Bacterial taxa belonging to Ruegeria were significantly enriched by glucose in the guts, especially the operational taxonomic unit 2575 (OTU2575), which showed the highest relative importance to the survival rate and individual weight of shrimp, with the values of 43.8 and 40.6%, respectively. In addition, glucose addition increased the complexity of interspecies interactions within gut bacterial communities and the network nodes from Rhodobacteraceae accounted for higher proportions and linked more with the nodes from other taxa in the glucose addition group than that in control.
