| 1 | Biological properties and clinical applications of berberine显示文摘Berberine,an isoquinoline alkaloid isolated from the Chinese herb Coptis chinens is and other Berber is plants,has a wide range of pharmacological properties.Berberine can be used to treat many diseases,such as cancer and digestive,metabolic,cardiovascular,and neurological diseases.Berberine has protective capacities in digestive diseases.It can inhibit toxins and bacteria,including Helicobac terpylo riprotect the intestinal epithelial barrier from injury,and ameliorate liver injury.Berberine also inhibits the proliferation of various types of cancer cells and impedes invasion and metastasis.Recent evidence has confirmed that berberine improves the efficacy and safety of chemoradiotherapies.In addition,berberine regulates glycometabolism and lipid metabolism,improves energy expenditure,reduces body weight,and alleviates nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.Berberine also improves cardiovascular hemodynamics,suppresses ischemic arrhythmias,attenuates the development of atherosclerosis,and reduces hypertension.Berberine shows potent neuroprotective effects,including antioxidative,antiapoptotic,and anti-ischemic.Furthermore,berberine exerts protective effects against other diseases.The mechanisms of its functions have been extensively explored,but much remains to be clarified.This article summarizes the main pharmacological actions of berberine and its mechanisms in cancer and digestive,metabolic,cardiovascular,and neurological diseases. | Danyang Song Jianyu Hao Daiming Fan | 2020 | Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,5: | 30 |
| 2 | Multifunctional dextran micelles as drug delivery carriers and magnetic resonance imaging probes显示文摘Multifunctional nanoparticles combining diagnostic and therapeutic agents into a single platform make cancer theranostics possible and have attracted wide interests in the field. In this study, a multifunctional nanocomposite based on dextran and superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles(SPIO) was prepared for drug delivery and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI). Amphiphilic dextran was synthesized by grafting stearyl acid onto the carbohydrate backbone, and micelle was formed by the resulted amphiphilic dextran with low critical micelle concentration at 1.8 mg L-1. Doxorubicin(DOX) and a cluster of the manganese-doped iron oxide nanoparticles(Mn-SPIO)nanocrystals were then coencapsulated successfully inside the core of dextran micelles, resulting in nanocomposites with diameter at about 100 nm. Cell culture experiments demonstrated the potential of these Mn-SPIO/DOX nanocomposites as an effective multifunctional nanoplatform for the delivery of anticancer drug DOX with a loading content(DLC) of 16 %. Confocal laser scanning microscopyreveals that the Mn-SPIO/DOX had excellent internalization ability against MCF-7/Adr cells after 2-h labeling compared with free DOXáHCl. Under a 3.0-T MRI scanner, Mn-SPIO/DOX nanocomposite-labeled cells in gelatin phantom show much darker images than the control. Their transverse relaxation(T2) rate is also significantly higher than that of the control cells(33.9 versus 2.3 s-1). | 4 | Boosting High-Rate Zinc-Storage Performance by the Rational Design of Mn_(2)O_(3) Nanoporous Architecture Cathode显示文摘Manganese oxides are regarded as one of the most promising cathode materials in rechargeable aqueous Zn-ion batteries(ZIBs)because of the low price and high security.However,the practical application of Mn2O3 in ZIBs is still plagued by the low specific capacity and poor rate capability.Herein,highly crystalline Mn2O3 materials with interconnected mesostructures and controllable pore sizes are obtained via a ligand-assisted self-assembly process and used as high-performance electrode materials for reversible aqueous ZIBs.The coordination degree between Mn2+and citric acid ligand plays a crucial role in the formation of the mesostructure,and the pore sizes can be easily tuned from 3.2 to 7.3 nm.Ascribed to the unique feature of nanoporous architectures,excellent zinc-storage performance can be achieved in ZIBs during charge/discharge processes.The Mn2O3 electrode exhibits high reversible capacity(233 mAh g−1 at 0.3 A g−1),superior rate capability(162 mAh g−1 retains at 3.08 A g−1)and remarkable cycling durability over 3000 cycles at a high current rate of 3.08 A g−1.Moreover,the corresponding electrode reaction mechanism is studied in depth according to a series of analytical methods.These results suggest that rational design of the nanoporous architecture for electrode materials can effectively improve the battery performance. | Danyang Feng Tu‑Nan Gao Ling Zhang Bingkun Guo Shuyan Song Zhen‑An Qiao Sheng Dai | 2020 | Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,1: | 2 |
| 5 | Silencing of ER-resident oxidoreductase PDIA3 inhibits malignant biological behaviors of multidrug-resistant gastric cancer显示文摘Glycosylation is a common posttranslational modification of proteins,which plays a role in the malignant transformation,growth,progression,chemoresistance,and immune response of tumors.Disulfide isomerase family A3(PDIA3)specifically acts on newly synthesized glycoproteins to promote the correct folding of sugar chains.Studies have shown that PDIA3 participates in multidrug-resistant gastric cancer(MDR-GC).In this study,we performed western blot analysis and immunohistochemistry to identify PDIA3 expression.Cell proliferation was assessed by CCK-8 assay.Transwell assays were used to detect the migration and invasion abilities of cells.Immunoprecipitation coupled to mass spectrometry(IP-MS)analysis was employed to identify PDIA3-interacting proteins and the associated pathways in MDR-GC cells.Glycoprotein interactions and translocation were detected by immunofluorescence assay.The results showed that PDIA3 knockdown significantly inhibited the proliferation,invasion,and migration abilities of MDR-GC cells.Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analysis of the IP-MS results showed that PDIA3 was closely associated with focal adhesion pathways in MDR-GC cells.Additionally,important components of focal adhesion pathways,including fibronectin-1(FN1)and integrinα5(ITGA5),were identified as pivotal PDIA3-binding glycoproteins.Knockdown of PDIA3 altered the cellular locations of FN1 and ITGA5,leading to abnormal accumulation.In conclusion,our results suggest that knockdown of PDIA3 inhibited the malignant behaviors of MDR-GC cells and influenced the translocation of FN1 and ITGA5. | Danyang Song Meng Guo Kaichu Wu Jianyu Hao Yongzhan Nie Daiming Fan | 2021 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,9: | 2 |

| 7 | Thermocline Model for Estimating Argo Sea Surface Temperature Thermocline Model for Estimating Argo Sea Surface Temperature显示文摘Argo has become an important constituent of the global ocean observation system.However,due to the lack of sea surface measurements from most Argo profiles,the application of Argo data is still limited.In this study,a thermocline model was constructed based on three key thermocline parameters,i.e,thermocline upper depth,the thermocline bottom depth,and thermocline temperature gradient.Following the model,we estimated the sea surface temperature of Argo profiles by providing the relationship between sea surface and subsurface temperature.We tested the effectiveness of our proposed model using statistical analysis and by comparing the sea surface temperature with the results obtained from traditional methods and in situ observations in the Pacific Ocean.The root mean square errors of results obtained from thermocline model were found to be significantly reduced compared to the extrapolation results and satellite retrieved temperature results.The correlation coefficient between the estimation result and in situ observation was 0.967.Argo surface temperature,estimated by the thermocline model,has been theoretically proved to be reliable.Thus,our model generates theoretically feasible data present the mesoscale phenomenon in more detail.Overall,this study compensates for the lack surface observation of Argo,and provides a new tool to establish complete Argo data sets. | Chunling Zhang Mengli Zhang Zhenfeng Wang Song Hu Danyang Wang Shenglong Yang | 2022 | Sustainable Marine Structures2022,4,1: | 1 |

| 9 | Grain carbon emission transfer and its spatiotemporal shifts based on the increasing supply-demand separation in China over the past three decades显示文摘The food system is one of the major sources of anthropogenic greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions.The impact of emission transfer due to the separation between food production and consumption within the context of carbon neutrality remains unclear.In this study,we constructed an emission inventory for three types of grains at the production stage of their life cycle and then analysed the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of the grain supply and demand.With the use of a spatial equilibrium model,we simulated the spatial distribution flow of the different types of grains from 1990 to 2018 and calculated the resulting GHG emission transfer efficiency.The main results include the following:(1)The imbalance between the grain supply and demand intensified,which was mainly reflected in the distance between the geographic centre of the grain supply and consumption increasing 3.2 times,and thus,the self-sufficiency decreased.(2)The total emission transfer TET of rice and wheat decreased because of the increase in the intra-regional supply,while that of maize gradually increased due to the increase in the inter-regional supply.(3)Overall,grain trade improved the carbon efficiency of grain production in China.The trade efficiency of crops varied,with wheat and maize leading to overall effective carbon reductions,while the carbon transfer efficiency of rice from trade was relatively low.(4)The carbon footprint of grain production in China's provinces exhibited a downward trend,but due to the intensified separation between the grain supply and demand,certain major grain-producing areas achieved inefficient carbon increases.Therefore,we suggest further optimization of the spatial structure of planting and breeding,strengthening of the grain supply in the region,and enhancement in the optimization of the low-carbon production structure and adjustment of cultivated land use combined with regional governance strategies.The application of these measures could contribute to achieving dual-carbon goals. | Xinxian QI Xianjin HUANG Yaya SONG Danyang WANG Tianze ZHONG Zemiao LIU | 2023 | Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,5: | 0 |

Many researchers have demonstrated prototypes using graphene-based materials, but few specific applications have appeared. Graphenebased acoustic devices have become a popular topic. This paper describes a novel method to fabricate graphenebased earphones by laser scribing. The earphones have been used in wireless communication systems. A wireless communication system was built based on an ARM board. Voice from a mobile phone was transmitted to a graphene-based earphone. The output sound had a similar wave envelope to that of the input; some differences were introduced by the DC bias added to the driving circuit of the graphene-based earphone. | 12 | Experimental and numerical studies of Ca(OH)_(2)/CaO dehydration process in a fixed-bed reactor for thermochemical energy storage显示文摘The Ca(OH)_(2)/CaO thermochemical energy storage(TCES)system based on calcium looping has received extensive attention owing to its high energy storage density,prolonged energy storage time,and environmental friendliness.The heat storage process of the Ca(OH)_(2)/CaO TCES system in a mixed heating reactor was evaluated in this study,by employing a combination of direct and indirect heating modes.The dehydration process was studied experimentally,and a numerical model was established and verified based on the experimental results.The dehydration behavior of 500 g of Ca(OH)_(2) powder was investigated in a fixed-bed reactor with mixed heating.The experimental and simulation results indicated that mixed heating causes combined centripetal and horizontal propulsion.Heat input is the main limiting factor in the heat storage process,because the radial advance of the reaction is hindered by the low thermal conductivity of the solid reactant particles.Heat transmission partitions were added to enhance the performance of the reactor.The performance of the modified reactor was compared with that of a conventional reactor.The radial heat transmission partitions in the modified reactor effectively enhance the energy storage rate and reduce the reaction time by 59.5%compared with the reactor without partitions. | Zhihao Zhang Danyang Song Hengxing Bao Xiang Ling Xiaogang Jin | 2023 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2023,62,10: | 0 |

| 15 | Flow characteristics simulation of spiral coil reactor used in the thermochemical energy storage system显示文摘According to environmental and energy issues,renewable energy has been vigorously promoted.Now solar power is widely used in many areas but it is limited by the weather conditions and cannot work continuously.Heat storage is a considerable solution for this problem and thermochemical energy storage is the most promising way because of its great energy density and stability.However,this technology is not mature enough to be applied to the industry.The reactor is an important component in the thermochemical energy storage system where the charging and discharging process happens.In this paper,a spiral coil is proposed and used as a reactor in the thermochemical energy storage system.The advantages of the spiral coil include simple structure,small volume,and so on.To investigate the flow characteristics,the simulation was carried out based on energy-minimization multi-scale model(EMMS)and Eulerian two-phase model.CaCO_(3) particles were chosen as the reactants.Particle distribution was shown in the results.The gas initial velocity was set to 2 m·s^(-1),3 m·s^(-1),and 4 m·s^(-1).When the particles flowed in the coil,gravity,centrifugal force and drag force influenced their flow.With the Reynold numbers increasing,centrifugal and drag force got larger.Accumulation phenomenon existed in the coil and results showed with the gas velocity increasing,accumulation moved from the bottom to the outer wall of the coil.Besides,the accumulation phenomenon was stabilized whenφ>720°.Also due to the centrifugal force,a secondary flow formed,which means solid particles moved from the inside wall to the outside wall.This secondary flow could promote turbulence and mixing of particles and gas.In addition,when the particle volume fraction is reduced from 0.2 to 0.1,the accumulation at the bottom of the coil decreases,and the unevenness of the velocity distribution becomes larger. | Xiaoyi Chen Danyang Song Dong Zhang Xiaogang Jin Xiang Ling Dongren Liu | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,2: | 0 |
