| 1 | The effect of nanohybrid materials on the pour-point and viscosity depressing of waxy crude oil显示文摘The pipeline transportation of waxy crude oil is a problem both at home and abroad.In this paper,a novel nanohybrid pour-point depressant (PPD) was used to decrease the pour point and viscosity of waxy crude oil.The pour point and apparent viscosity of waxy crude oil was decreased significantly upon addition of the nanohybrid PPD,and the long-term stability of the nanohybrid PPD was superior to that of a conventional ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer PPD.Polarized optical microscopy and X-ray diffraction were used to study the effect of the nanohybrid PPD on the crystallization of crude oil.Addition of the nanohybrid PPD reduced the amount of wax crystals,prevented their aggregation,and reduced the temperature at which the crude oil started to crystallize.The significant effect of this nanohybrid PPD on the pour point and viscosity depressing of crude oil is of great importance for facilitating the safe,efficient and energy-minimized transportation of waxy crude oil. | WANG Feng ZHANG DongMin DING YanFen ZHANG LiXin YANG MingShu JIANG BaoLiang ZHANG ShiMin AI MuYang LIU GuangWen ZHI ShuJie HUO LianFeng OUYANG Xin LI Li | 2011 | Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,1: | 9 |
| 2 | Changes in extreme high-temperature tolerance and activities of antioxidant enzymes of sacred lotus seeds显示文摘Sacred lotus (Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn. ‘Tielian’) seed is long-lived and extremely tolerant of high temperature. Water content of lotus and maize seeds was 0.103 and 0.129 g H2O [g DW] ?1, respectively. Water content, germination percentage and fresh weight of seedlings produced by surviving seeds gradually decreased with increasing treatment time at 100℃. Germination percentage of maize (Zea mays L. ‘Huangbaogu’) seeds was zero after they were treated at 100℃ for 15 min and that of lotus seeds was 13.5% following the treatment at 100℃ for 24 h. The time in which 50% of lotus and maize seeds were killed by 100℃ was about 14.5 h and 6 min, respectively. With increasing treatment time at 100℃, relative electrolyte leakage of lotus axes increased significantly, and total chlorophyll content of lotus axes markedly decreased. When treatment time at 100℃ was less than 12 h, subcellular structure of lotus hypocotyls remained fully intact. When treatment time at 100℃ was more than 12 h, plasmoly-sis gradually occurred, endoplasmic reticulum became unclear, nuclei and nucleoli broke down, most of mitochondria swelled, lipid granules accumulated at the cell periphery, and organelles and plas-molemma collapsed. Malondialdehyde (MDA) content of lotus axes and cotyledons decreased during 0-12 h of the treatment at 100℃ and then increased. By contrast, the MDA content of maize embryos and endosperms increased during 5-10 min of the treatment at 100℃ and then decreased slightly. For lotus seeds: (1) activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione reductase (GR) of axes and cotyledons and of catalase (CAT) of axes increased during the early phase of treatment at 100℃ and then decreased; and (2) activities of ascorbate peroxidase (APX) and dehydroascorbate reductase (DHAR) of axes and cotyledons and of CAT of cotyledons gradually decreased with increasing treat-ment time at 100℃. For maize seeds: (1) activities of SOD and DHAR of embryos and endosperms and of GR of embryos increased during the early phase of the treatment at 100℃ and then decreased; and (2) activities of APX and CAT of embryos and endosperms and of GR of endosperms rapidly decreased with increasing treatment time at 100℃. | 3 | The HDAC inhibitor GCJ-490A suppresses c-Met expression through IKKα and overcomes gefitinib resistance in non-small cell lung cancer显示文摘Objective:The novel compound GCJ-490A has been discovered as a pan-histone deacetylase(HDAC)inhibitor that exerts potent inhibitory activity against HDAC1,HDAC3,and HDAC6.Because of the important roles of HDACs in lung cancer development and the high distribution of GCJ-490A in lung tissue,we explored the anti-tumor potency of GCJ-490A against non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)in vitro and in vivo in this study.Methods:The in vitro effects of GCJ-490A alone or combined with the EGFR inhibitor gefitinib against NSCLC were measured with proliferation,apoptosis,and colony formation assays.NSCLC xenograft models were used to investigate the efficacy of GCJ-490A combined with gefitinib for the treatment of NSCLC in vivo.Western blot assays,luciferase reporter assays,chromatin immunoprecipitation assays,quantitative real time-PCR,immunohistochemistry,and transcription factor activity assays were used to elucidate possible mechanisms.Results:GCJ-490A effectively inhibited NSCLC cell proliferation and induced apoptosis in vitro and in vivo.Interestingly,inhibition of HDAC1 and HDAC6 by GCJ-490A increased histone acetylation at the IKKαpromoter and enhanced IKKαtranscription,thus decreasing c-Met.Moreover,this c-Met downregulation was found to be essential for the synergistic anti-tumor activity of GCJ-490A and gefitinib.Conclusions:These findings highlight the promising potential of HDAC inhibitors in NSCLC treatment and provide a rational basis for the application of HDAC inhibitors in combination with EGFR inhibitors in clinical trials. | Ting He Yinglei Gao Yanfen Fang Yangming Zhang Shuwei Zhang Fajun Nan Jian Ding Yi Chen | 2022 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2022,19,8: | 3 |

| 13 | Histone deacetylase inhibitors promote breast cancer metastasis by elevating NEDD9 expression显示文摘Histone deacetylase(HDAC)is a kind of protease that modifies histone to regulate gene expression,and is usually abnormally activated in tumors.The approved pan-HDAC inhibitors have demonstrated clinical benefits for patients in some hematologic malignancies.Only limited therapeutic success in breast cancer has been observed in clinical trials.In this study,we declare that pan-HDAC inhibitors targeting NEDD9-FAK pathway exacerbate breast cancer metastasis in preclinical models,which may severely impede their clinical success.NEDD9 is not an oncogene,however,it has been demonstrated recently that there are high level or activity changes of NEDD9 in a variety of cancer,including leukemia,colon cancer,and breast cancer.Mechanistically,pan-HDAC inhibitors enhance H3K9 acetylation at the nedd9 gene promoter via inhibition of HDAC4 activity,thus increase NEDD9 expression,and then activate FAK phosphorylation.The realization that pan-HDAC inhibitors can alter the natural history of breast cancer by increasing invasion warrants clinical attention.In addition,although NEDD9 has been reported to have a hand in breast cancer metastasis,it has not received much attention,and no therapeutic strategies have been developed.Notably,we demonstrate that FAK inhibitors can reverse breast cancer metastasis induced by upregulation of NEDD9 via pan-HDAC inhibitors,which may offer a potential combination therapy for breast cancer. | Zonglong Hu Fan Wei Yi Su Yafang Wang Yanyan Shen Yanfen Fang Jian Ding Yi Chen | 2023 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,2: | 0 |
| 14 | Carya cathayensis Leaf Extract Exerts Estrogenic Effects on Hepatic Lipogenesis and Adipocytes Differentiation in Ovariectomized Rats Fed Normal or High-fat Diets显示文摘Background:Our previous in vitro study has shown that total flavonoids from the leaves of Carya cathayensis exert estrogenic activities by promoting the expressions of ER��and ER��.C.cathayensis leaf extract(CCE)was rich in flavonoids.Oral administration of CCE reduced the serum lipids and hepatic lipids,alleviated liver steatosis in ovariectomized rats.Objective:To investigate whether CCE has estrogenic effects on reproductive tissue and influences lipid metabolism in ovariectomized rats,and whether CCE has a direct effect on regulation of lipid synthesis and/or oxidation and adipocyte differentiation of ovariectomized(OVX)rats.Methods:Female Sprague-Dawley rats were ovariectomized and treated with CCE or estradiol in combination with a normal diet(ND),a high-fat diet(HFD)for 8 weeks.Histological analysis of uterus were performed and the lipid metabolism-related enzyme activity were examined.Expression of liver lipogenesis-related genes,adipocyte differentiation-and fat accumulation-related genes and protein were measured.Rusults:Ovariectomy accelerated the uterine atrophy,development of dyslipidemia and hepatic steatosis,which were effectively mitigated by CCE supplementation.CCE significantly elevated ovariectomy-induced reduction in the cross-section area of the uterus and uterine glands.Compared with the OVX group,CCE increased the activities of lipoprtein lipase(LPL)and hepatic lipase(HL),decreased the hepatic mRNA expressions of Fas,Srebf1,Sla2a2,and increased Ppar��expressions at the mRNA levels under both ND and HFD conditions.CCE also decreased the Pck1 and G6pc mRNA expressions under HFD conditions,and show no significant effects on Hmgcr.The expressions of SREBF1,CEBPA and VEGF at the protein level were effectively regulated by CCE supplementation.Conclusion:CCE effectively alleviated ovariectomy-induced dyslipidemia and visceral fat accumulation by mod-ulating hepatic lipogenesis and adipocyte differentiation.Furthermore,CCE exhibited estrogenic activity for the prevention of postmenopausal fatty liver. | Xiwen Jia Simeng Guo Youling Huang Dongheng Zheng Yuqi Ding Xilin Qiao Zhishan Ding Yanfen Huang | 2023 | Clinical Complementary Medicine and Pharmacology2023,3,3: | 0 |
| 15 | Water resource conservation promotes synergy between economy and environment in China’s northern drylands显示文摘Water resource availability is the major limiting factor for sustainable development in drylands.Climate change intensifies the conflicting water demands between people and the environment and highlights the importance of effective water resource management for achieving a balance between economic development and environmental protection.In 2008,Inner Mongolia,typical dryland in northern China,proposed strict regulations on water exploitation and utilization aimed at achieving sustainable development.Our study is the first to investigate the effectiveness and performance of these long-standing water conservation regulations.Our analyses found that the regulations drove industrial transformation,evidenced by the decreasing proportion of environmentally harmful industries such as coal and steel,and the increasing proportion of tertiary industries(especially tourism).Following industrial transformation,economic development decoupled from industrial water consumption and subsequently led to reduced negative environmental impacts.Based on these results,adaptive strategies were developed for 12 cities by revealing and integrating their development pathways and relative status in achieving sustainable development.Integration and cooperation between cities were proposed,e.g.,a water trade agreement between eastern Inner Mongolia(an economically underdeveloped region with relatively abundant water resources)and central Inner Mongolia(an economically developed region with high water stress).Such an agreement may enable the holistic achievement of sustainable development across regions.By integrating the findings of our research,our study presents a reproducible framework for water-management-based sustainable development strategies in drylands. | Yali Liu Jianqing Du Boyang Ding Yuexian Liu Wenjun Liu Anquan Xia Ran Huo Qinwei Ran Yanbin Hao Xiaoyong Cui Yanfen Wang | 2022 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2022,16,3: | 0 |
| 16 | Isothermal crystallization of polypropylene/surface modified silica nanocomposites显示文摘In the present work, 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxy-silane silanized silica(SiO_2-WD70) and 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide immobilized silica(SiO_2-WD70-DOPO) nanoparticles were prepared. Silica, SiO_2-WD70 and SiO_2-WD70-DOPO were incorporated into polypropylene(PP) by melt compounding. Differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), X-ray diffraction(XRD) and polarized optical microscopy(POM) were employed to investigate the isothermal crystallization behavior of PP and PP/silica composites. The kinetic constant(kn), and half crystallization time(t1/2) were calculated by Avrami equation,while the surface free energy of folding was calculated by Lauritzen-Hoffman theory. The increased kn, decreased t1/2 and the surface free energy(σe) in the order of PP, PP/SiO_2, PP/SiO_2-WD70 and PP/SiO_2-WD70-DOPO nanocomposites were attributed to the surface modification of silica. XRD indicated that SiO_2-WD70-DOPO addition had no effect on PP crystal structure but accelerated the crystallization rate. POM determined that SiO_2-WD70-DOPO addition promoted the nucleation of PP by inducing a higher nucleation density during isothermal conditions.
