Recent developments and applications on high-performance cast magnesium rare-earth alloys显示文摘During the past decades, with the increasing demands in lightweight structural materials,Mg alloys with low density and high performance have been extensively investigated and partly applied in some industries.Especially when rare earth(RE)elements are added as major alloying elements to Mg alloys, the alloy strength and creep resistance are greatly improved, which have promoted several series of Mg-RE alloys. This paper reviews the progress and developments of high-performance Mg-RE alloys in recent years with emphasis on cast alloys. The main contents include the alloy design, melt purification, grain refinement, castability, novel liquid casting and semisolid forming approaches, and the industrial applications or trials made of Mg-RE alloys. The review will provide insights for future developments of new alloys, techniques and applications of Mg alloys. | Guohua Wu Cunlong Wang Ming Sun Wenjiang Ding | 2021 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2021,9,1: | 35
Upregulation of Chemokine CXCL12 in the Dorsal Root Ganglia and Spinal Cord Contributes to the Development and Maintenance of Neuropathic Pain Following Spared Nerve Injury in Rats显示文摘Emerging evidence indicates that CXCL12/CXCR4 signaling is involved in chronic pain. However, few studies have systemically assessed its role in direct nerve injury-induced neuropathic pain and the underlying mechanism. Here, we determined that spared nerve injury(SNI)increased the expression of CXCL12 and its cognate receptor CXCR4 in lumbar 5 dorsal root ganglia(DRG)neurons and satellite glial cells. SNI also induced longlasting upregulation of CXCL12 and CXCR4 in the ipsilateral L4–5 spinal cord dorsal horn, characterized by CXCL12 expression in neurons and microglia, and CXCR4 expression in neurons and astrocytes. Moreover, SNIinduced a sustained increase in TNF-a expression in the DRG and spinal cord. Intraperitoneal injection(i.p.) of the TNF-a synthesis inhibitor thalidomide reduced the SNI-induced mechanical hypersensitivity and inhibited the expression of CXCL12 in the DRG and spinal cord.Intrathecal injection(i.t.) of the CXCR4 antagonist AMD3100, both 30 min before and 7 days after SNI,reduced the behavioral signs of allodynia. Rats given an i.t.or i.p. bolus of AMD3100 on day 8 of SNI exhibited attenuated abnormal pain behaviors. The neuropathic pain established following SNI was also impaired by i.t. administration of a CXCL12-neutralizing antibody. Moreover, repetitive i.t. AMD3100 administration prevented the activation of ERK in the spinal cord. The mechanical hypersensitivity induced in na?¨ve rats by i.t. CXCL12 was alleviated by pretreatment with the MEK inhibitor PD98059. Collectively, our results revealed that TNF-a might mediate the upregulation of CXCL12 in the DRG and spinal cord following SNI, and that CXCL12/CXCR4 signaling via ERK activation contributes to the development and maintenance of neuropathic pain. | Liying Bai Xinru Wang Zhisong Li Cunlong Kong Yonghui Zhao Jun-Liang Qian Quancheng Kan Wei Zhang Ji-Tian Xu | 2016 | Neuroscience Bulletin2016,32,1: | 20
Effect of cooling rates on the dendritic morphology transition of Mg–6Gd alloy by in situ X-ray radiography显示文摘The effect of cooling rate on the transition of dendrite morphology of a Mg-6 Gd(wt%) alloy was semiquantitatively analyzed under a constant temperature gradient by using synchrotron X-ray radiographic technique. Results show that equiaxed dendrites, including exotic 'butterfly-shaped' dendrite morphology, dominate at high cooling rate(>1 K/s). When the cooling rate decreases in the range of 0.5–1 K/s, the equiaxed-to-columnar transition takes place, and solute segregates at the center of two long dendrite arms(LDA) of the 'butterfly-shaped' dendrite. When the cooling rate is lower than 0.3 K/s, directional solidification occurs and the columnar dendritic growth direction gradually rotates from the crystalline axis to the thermal gradient direction with an increase in cooling rate. Meanwhile, interface moves faster but the dendrite arm spacing decreases. Floating, collision and rotation of dendrites under convection were also studied in this work. | Yongbiao Wang Liming Peng Yanzhou Ji Xiaoxing Cheng Cunlong Wang Yujuan Wu Yanan Fu Long-Qing Chen | 2018 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2018,34,7: | 8
Tunable luminescent CsPb_2Br_5 nanoplatelets:applications in light-emitting diodes and photodetectors显示文摘Unlike organic–inorganic hybrid perovskites, all-inorganic cesium lead halide perovskites hold great promise for developing high-performance optoelectronic devices, owing to their improved stability. Herein, we investigate the perovskite-related CsPb_2 Br_5 nanoplatelets(NPLs) with tunable emission wavelengths via changing the reaction temperatures to 100°C, 120°C, and 140°C. Reaction temperature plays a key role in determining the shapes and thicknesses of the resulting CsPb_2 Br_5 NPLs. A higher temperature is in favor of the formation of smaller and thicker NPLs. To develop their potential applications in optoelectronic devices, green light emitting diodes(LEDs) and photodetectors based on CsPb_2 Br_5 NPLs are fabricated. The green LEDs based on CsPb_2 Br_5 NPLs synthesized at 140°C exhibit an excellent pure green emission(full width at half-maximum of <20 nm) and display a luminous efficiency of 34.49 lm∕W under an operation current of 10 m A. Moreover, the photodetector based on CsPb_2 Br_5 NPLs synthesized at 100°C has better performance with a rise time of 0.426 s, a decay time of0.422 s, and a ratio of the current(with and without irradiation) of 364%. | CENG HAN CUNLONG LI ZHIGANG ZANG MING WANG KUAN SUN XIAOSHENG TANG JIHE DU | 2017 | Photonics Research2017,5,5: | 4
Experimental Investigation on Micro Deep Drawing of Stainless Steel Foils with Different Microstructural Characteristics显示文摘In the present work, austenitic stainless steel(ASS)304 foils with a thickness of 50μm were first annealed at temperatures ranging from 700 to 1100℃for 1 h to obtain different microstructural characteristics. Then the effects of microstructural characteristics on the formability of ASS 304 foils and the quality of drawn cups using micro deep drawing(MDD)were studied, and the mechanism involved was discussed. The results show that the as-received ASS 304 foil has a poor formability and cannot be used to form a cup using MDD.Serious wrinkling problem occurs on the drawn cup,and the height profile distribution on the mouth and the symmetry of the drawn cup is quite non-uniform when the annealing temperature is 700℃.At annealing temperatures of 900 and 950℃,the drawn cups are both characterized with very few wrinkles, and the distribution of height profile, symmetry and mouth thickness are uniform on the mouths of the drawn cups. The wrinkling becomes increasingly significant with a further increase of annealing temperature from 950 to 1100℃.The optimal annealing temperatures obtained in this study are 900 and 950℃for reducing the generation of wrinkling, and therefore improving the quality of drawn cups. With non-optimized microstructure, the distribution of the compressive stress in the circumferential direction of the drawn foils becomes inhomogeneous, which is thought to be the cause of the occurrence of localized deformation till wrinkling during MDD. | Jingwei Zhao Tao Wang Fanghui Jia Zhou Li Cunlong Zhou Qingxue Huang Zhengyi Jiang | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2021,34,2: | 2

Recent advances on grain refinement of magnesium rare-earth alloys during the whole casting processes:A review显示文摘High-performance cast magnesium rare-earth(Mg-RE) alloys are one of the most important materials among all developed Mg alloy families, and have shown great potential in military and weapons, aerospace and aviation, orthopedic implants, etc. Controlling grain size and distribution of it is key to the promising mechanical performance of Mg-RE alloy casting components. During the casting of a real component, nearly every procedure in the fabrication process will influence the grain refinement effect. The procedure may include and may not be limited to the chemical inoculations, possibly applied physical fields, the interfere between grain refiner and purifications, and the casting techniques with different processing parameters. This paper reviews the recent advances and proposed future developments in these categories on grain refinement of cast Mg-RE alloys. The review will provide insights for the future design of grain refinement techniques, the choosing of processing parameters, and coping strategies for the failure of coarsening for cast Mg-RE components with high quality and good performance. | Guohua Wu Xin Tong Cunlong Wang Rui Jiang Wenjiang Ding | 2023 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2023,11,10: | 0
