| 1 | Spatial distribution and focal mechanism solutions of the Wenchuan earthquake series:Results and implications显示文摘We relocate the spatial distribution of the devastating 12 May 2008 Wenchuan earthquake and its aftershocks.The relocation database is obtained from 89 stations deployed by the China Earthquake Administration,including 54 525 seismograms from 1 376 local earthquakes over MS3.5 between 12 May 2008 and 3 August 2008.The cross-correlation technique used in this paper has greatly improved the relocation precision by giving much more accurate P-wave differential travel-time measurements than those obtained from routinely picked phase onsets.At the same time,we pick P-wave polarity observations of the Wenchuan earthquake series (hereafter referred to as WES) from 1 023 stations in China and 59 IRIS (Incorporated Research Institutions of Seismology) stations.Then,employing a newly developed program CHNYTX,we obtain 83 well-determined focal mechanism solutions (hereafter referred to as FMSs).Based on spatial distribution and FMSs of the WES,we draw following conclusions:(1) The region near the main shock exhibits a buried low-angle northwest-dipping seismic zone with the main shock at its upper end and two conjugated seismic zones dipping southeast with roughly equal dip-angle;(2) The compressional directions of all kinds of FMSs of the WES are subhorizontal,which reflects the dominant stress in this area is compressional;(3) The principal compressional direction of the regional stress around Wenchuan is roughly perpendicular to the strike of Beichuan-Yingxiu fault,while around Qingchuan it is roughly parallel to the strike of Qingchuan fault.In intermediate part of the Longmenshan area,the principal compressional direction of the stress should be in-between;(4) The possibly existed molten materials in the lower crust of Songpan-Garze terrain have small contribution to the local stress state in Longmenshan area.The listric geometries of the Longmenshan faults most probably resulted from subhorizontal compression along NW-SE direction in history. | Chen Cai Chunquan Yu Kai Tao Xingping Hu Yuan Tian Hao Zhang Xiaofeng Cui Jieyuan Ning | 2011 | Earthquake Science2011,24,1: | 13 |
| 2 | Tensile properties of high strength cast Mg alloys at room temperature:A review显示文摘As most Mg alloy products are now produced by a casting process,the development of high strength cast Mg alloys can promote their further applications and has already become one of the hot research areas of Mg alloys.The present paper reviews the strengthening mechanisms,tensile properties and modification results of commercial high strength cast Mg alloys;as well as the development of Mg-Gd,Mg-Nd and Mg-Sn based alloys.It concludes that precipitation strengthening is the most important strengthening mechanism in high strength cast Mg alloys,which contributes more than 60%of yield strength in solution&peak-aged(T6)cast Mg alloys.For the yield strength,the alloys follow the sequence of Mg-Gd(Y)-Ag>Mg-Gd(Y)-Zn>Mg-Gd-Y/Sm/Nd>Mg-Y-Nd(WE series)>ZK61>Mg-Nd>AZ91>Mg-Sn.Mg-Gd(Y)-Ag based alloys are the strongest cast Mg alloys at present,followed by Mg-Gd(Y)-Zn based alloys.The high yield strengths of Mg-Gd(Y)-Ag and Mg-Gd(Y)-Zn cast alloys are due to the co-precipitation of basal and prismatic meta-stable phases. | Fu Penghuai Peng Liming Jiang Haiyan Ding Wenjiang Zhai Chunquan | 2014 | China Foundry2014,11,4: | 12 |

| 5 | Hierarchical assembly of highly efficient visible-light-driven Ag/g-C_(3)N_(4)/kaolinite composite photocatalyst for the degradation of ibuprofen显示文摘A novel Ag/g-C_(3)N_(4)/kaolinite composite photocatalyst was fabricated for the first time through a two-step assembly strategy by employing in situ calcination and a photodeposition process.The synthesized Ag/g-C_(3)N_(4)/kaolinite composite reached a higher degradation rate of ibuprofen(IBP)with a reaction rate constant of 0.0113 min^(-1) at an Ag content of 7% under visible-light irradiation,which was approximately 1.87 times that of the Ag/g-C_(3)N_(4) composite.Based on the physicochemical properties,the enhanced photocatalytic activity was attributed to the stronger adsorption property,wider photoresponse range and more efficient separation and transfer of electron-hole pairs.Furthermore,the incorporation of monodispersed Ag nanoparticles onto the g-C_(3)N_(4)/kaolinite sheets provided more reactive sites for the IBP degradation.In addition,according to the EPR study and trapping experiments,it was demonstrated that holes(h^(+))should be the key reactive species.A possible pathway of IBP degradation was also proposed based on the detected intermediates.Overall,the results of this work may facilitate the design of a novel visible-light-driven photocatalyst with a high efficiency that is derived from a natural mineral for environmental remediation. | Zhiming Sun Xiangwei Zhang Xiongbo Dong Xiaorui Liu Ye Tan Fang Yuan Shuilin Zheng Chunquan Li | 2020 | Journal of Materiomics2020,6,3: | 8 |
| 6 | Thermodynamic Modeling of Fluid-Bearing Natural Gas Inclusions for Geothermometer and Geobarometer of Overpressured Environments in Qiongdongnan Basin, South China Sea显示文摘It is a very difficult problem to directly determine fluid pressure during hydrocarbon migration and accumulation in sedimentary basins. pVt modeling of coupling hydrocarbon fluid inclusion of its coeval aqueous fluid inclusion provides a powerful tool for establishing the relationship of formation pressure evolution with time. Homogenization temperature of fluid inclusion can routinely be measured under microthermometric microscopy. Crushing technique has been employed to obtain the composition of fluid inclusions, and the commercial software VTFLINC easily and rapidly completes the construction of p t phase diagram. The minimum trapping pressure of hydrocarbon fluid inclusion would be then determined in the p t space. In this paper, three samples of YC21 1 1 and YC21 1 4 wells at YC21 1 structural closure, Qiongdongnan basin, South China Sea, were selected for the pVt modeling practice, and the formation pressure coefficient (equals to fluid pressure/hydrostatic pressure) changing trend with time has primarily been established. | 7 | Focal Mechanism Solutions of the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake sequence from P-wave polarities and SH/P amplitude ratios:new results and implications显示文摘The 2008 Wenchuan earthquake,a major intraplate earthquake with Mw7.9,occurred on the slowly deforming Longmenshan fault.To better understand the causes of this devastating earthquake,we need knowledge of the regional stress field and the underlying geodynamic processes.Here,we determine focal mechanism solutions(FMSs)of the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake sequence(WES)using both P-wave first-motion polarity data and SH/P amplitude ratio(AR)data.As P-wave polarities are more reliable information,they are given priority over SH/P AR,the latter of which are used only when the former has loose constraint on the FMSs.We collect data from three categories:(1)permanent stations deployed by the China Earthquake Administration(CEA);(2)the Western Sichuan Passive Seismic Array(WSPSA)deployed by Institute of Geology,CEA;(3)global stations from Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology.Finally,129 events with magnitude over Ms4.0 in the 2008 WES are identified to have well-constrained FMSs.Among them,83 are well constrained by P-wave polarities only as shown by Cai et al.(Earthq Sci 24(1):115–125,2011),andthe rest of which are newly constrained by incorporating SH/P AR.Based on the spatial distribution and FMSs of the WES,we draw following conclusions:(1)the principle compressional directions of most FMSs of the WES are subhorizontal,generally in agreement with the conclusion given by Cai et al.(2011)but with a few modifications that the compressional directions are WNW–ESE around Wenchuan and ENE–WSW around Qingchuan,respectively.The subhorizontal compressional direction along the Longmenshan fault from SW to NE seems to have a leftlateral rotation,which agrees well with regional stress field inverted by former researchers(e.g.,Xu et al.,Acta Seismol Sin 30(5),1987;Acta Geophys Sin 32(6),1989;Cui et al.,Seismol Geol 27(2):234–242,2005);(2)the FMSs of the events not only reflected the regional stress state of the Longmenshan region,but also were obviously controlled by the faults to some extent,which was pointed out by Cai et al.(2011)and Yi et al.(Chin J Geophys55(4):1213–1227,2012);(3)while the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake and some of its strong aftershocks released most of the elastic energy accumulated on the Longmenshan fault,some other aftershocks seem to occur just for releasing the elastic energy promptly created by the 2008Wenchuan earthquake and some of its strong aftershocks.(4)Our results further suggest that the Longmenshan fault from Wenchuan to Beichuan was nearly fully destroyed by the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake and accordingly propose that there is less probability for great earthquakes in the middle part of the Longmenshan fault in the near future,although there might be a barrier to the southwest of Wenchuan and it is needed to pay some attention on it in the near future. | Yuan Tian Jieyuan Ning Chunquan Yu Chen Cai Kai Tao | 2013 | Earthquake Science2013,26,6: | 7 |

| 9 | Evolutionary trace analysis of eukaryotic DNA topoisomerase I superfamily: Identification of novel antitumor drug binding site显示文摘The studies of novel inhibitors of DNA topoisomerase I (Topo I) have already be-come very promising in cancer chemotherapy. Identifying the new drug-binding residues is playing an important role in the design and optimization of Topo I inhibitors. The designed com-pounds may have novel scaffolds, thus will be helpful to overcome the toxicities of current camptothecin (CPT) drugs and may provide a solution to cross resistance with these drugs. Mul-tiple sequence alignments were performed on eukaryotic DNA topoisomerase I superfamily and thus the evolutionary tree was constructed. The Evolutionary Trace method was applied to iden-tify functionally important residues of human Topo I. It has been demonstrated that class-specific hydrophobic residues Ala351, Met428, Pro431 are located around the 7,9-position of CPT, indi-cating suitable substitution of hydrophobic group on CPT will increase antitumor activity. The conservative residue Lys436 in the superfamily is of particular interest and new CPT derivatives designed based on this residue may greatly increase water solubility of such drugs. It has also been demonstrated that the residues Asn352 and Arg364 were conservative in the superfamily, whose mutation will render CPT resistance. As our molecular docking studies demonstrated they did not make any direct interaction with CPT, they are important drug-binding site residues for future design of novel non-camptothecin lead compounds. | 10 | Description of a New Species of the Genus Brachytarsophrys Tian and Hu, 1983(Amphibia: Anura: Megophryidae) from Southern China Based on Molecular and Morphological Data显示文摘A new species, Brachytarsophrys popei sp. nov., is described based on a series of specimens collected from Mount Jinggang, Jiangxi Province, Taoyuandong Nature Reserve, Hunan Province and Nanling Nature Reserve, Guangdong Province, China. The new species can be easily distinguished from other known congeners by morphology, morphometrics and molecular data of the mitochondrial 16 S rRNA gene. It is characterized by its relatively small size with 86.2 mm in snout-vent length in adult female and 70.7 mm–83.5 mm in males; vomerine teeth bearing on two markedly elevated ridges, which projecting behind far beyond the posterior level of the choanae, widely separated by a distance nearly 1.5 times length of one; margin of tongue deeply notched behind; toes about one-third to two-thirds webbed in males, at most one-third webbed in female; the webs extending as a wide fringes along either side of toes; upper eyelid with tubercles, one of which is enlarged and becoming a remarkably prominent, bluntly conical lightyellow horn; black tiny nuptial spines on the dorsal surface of the first finger and second finger base, single vocal sac in males; gravid females bear pure yellowish oocytes; tadpoles with a transverse white stripe on ventral surface and two longitudinal white stripes along the sides of body. | 13 | Strain hardening of as-extruded Mg-xZn(x=1, 2, 3 and 4 wt%) alloys显示文摘The influence of Zn on the strain hardening of as-extruded Mg-x Zn(x = 1, 2, 3 and 4 wt%) magnesium alloys was investigated using uniaxial tensile tests at 10^(-3)s^(-1) at room temperature. The strain hardening rate,the strain hardening exponent and the hardening capacity were obtained from true plastic stress-strain curves. There were almost no second phases in the as-extruded Mg-Zn magnesium alloys. Average grain sizes of the four as-extruded alloys were about 17.8 μm. | 16 | Design and synthesis of novel water-soluble amino acid derivatives of chlorin p6 ethers as photosensitizer显示文摘Eight new water-soluble amino acid conjugates 6 a-h of chlorin p6 ethers(5 a-d) were synthesized and preliminarily investigated for their in vitro PDT antitumor activity and structure-activity relationship(SAR). The results showed that all compounds exhibited much higher phototoxicity against tumor cells than talaporfin. SAR analysis indicated that PDT antitumor effect enhanced with the increase of carbon chain length of alkoxyl ether bonds at 3~1-position, and L-aspartic acid was superior to L-glutamic acid. | 17 | NAMPT-targeting PROTAC promotes antitumor immunity via suppressing myeloid-derived suppressor cell expansion显示文摘Nicotinamide phosphoribosyl transferase(NAMPT) is considered as a promising target for cancer therapy given its critical engagement in cancer metabolism and inflammation.However,therapeutic benefit of NAMPT enzymatic inhibitors appears very limited,likely due to the failure to intervene nonenzymatic functions of NAMPT.Herein,we show that NAMPT dampens antitumor immunity by promoting the expansion of tumor infiltrating myeloid derived suppressive cells(MDSCs) via a mechanism independent of its enzymatic activity.Using proteolysis-targeting chimera(PROTAC) technology,PROTAC A7 is identified as a potent and selective degrader of NAMPT,which degrades intracellular NAMPT(iNAMPT) via the ubiquitin-proteasome system,and in turn decreases the secretion of extracellular NAMPT(eNAMPT),the major player of the non-enzymatic activity of NAMPT.In vivo,PROTAC A7 efficiently degrades NAMPT,inhibits tumor infiltrating MDSCs,and boosts antitumor efficacy.Of note,the anticancer activity of PROTAC A7 is superior to NAMPT enzymatic inhibitors that fail to achieve the same impact on MDSCs.Together,our findings uncover the new role of enzymatically-independent function of NAMPT in remodeling the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment,and reports the first NAMPT PROTAC A7 that is able to block the pro-tumor function of both iNAMPT and eNAMPT,pointing out a new direction for the development of NAMPT-targeted therapies. | Ying Wu Congying Pu Yixian Fu Guoqiang Dong Min Huang Chunquan Sheng | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,6: | 3 |
| 18 | Effect of Zhu-yuan decoction in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis after functional endoscopic sinus surgery显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effectiveness and safety of Zhu-yuan decoction(ZYD) in patients after functional endoscopic sinus surgery(FESS).METHODS: A total of 85 patients were randomized into two groups: 44 were treated with intranasal corticosteroids(INC), and 41 were given Chinese herbal medicine(CHM). Patients with chronic rhinosinusitis(CRS) who underwent FESS were prospectively enrolled in the study. Before surgery, they were evaluated by visual analog scale(VAS), nasal endoscopy, computed tomography(CT), and routine blood test. After surgery, they were randomized to take ZYD or INC for 12 weeks and revaluated by VAS; nasal endoscopy at 4, 8, and 12 weeks;and CT at 12 weeks after surgery.RESULTS: In the both groups, VAS and endoscopyscores decreased significantly at 4, 8, and 12 weeks,and CT scores after treatment declined at 12 weeks compared with baseline scores. | 20 | Targeting a novel inducible GPX4 alternative isoform to alleviate ferroptosis and treat metabolic-associated fatty liver disease显示文摘Metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD),which is previously known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),represents a major health concern worldwide with limited therapy.Here,we provide evidence that ferroptosis,a novel form of regulated cell death characterized by iron-driven lipid peroxidation,was comprehensively activated in liver tissues from MAFLD patients.The canonical-GPX4(cGPX4),which is the most important negative controller of ferroptosis,is downregulated at protein but not mRNA level.Interestingly,a non-canonical GPX4 transcript-variant is induced(inducible-GPX4,iGPX4)in MAFLD condition.The high fat-fructose/sucrose diet(HFFD)and methionine/choline-deficient diet(MCD)-induced MAFLD pathologies,including hepatocellular ballooning,steatohepatitis andfibrosis,were attenuated and aggravated,respectively,in cGPX4-and iGPX4-knockin mice.cGPX4 and iGPX4 isoforms also displayed opposing effects on oxidative stress and ferroptosis in hepatocytes.Knockdown of iGPX4 by siRNA alleviated lipid stress,ferroptosis and cell injury.Mechanistically,the triggered iGPX4 interacts with cGPX4 to facilitate the transformation of cGPX4 from enzymatic-active monomer to enzymatic-inactive oligomers upon lipid stress,and thus promotes ferroptosis.Co-immunoprecipitation and nano LC–MS/MS analyses confirmed the interaction between iGPX4 and cGPX4.Our results reveal a detrimental role of non-canonical GPX4 isoform in ferroptosis,and indicate selectively targeting iGPX4 may be a promising therapeutic strategy for MAFLD. | Jie Tong Dongjie Li Hongbo Meng Diyang Sun Xiuting Lan Min Ni Jiawei Ma Feiyan Zeng Sijia Sun Jiangtao Fu Guoqiang Li Qingxin Ji Guoyan Zhang Qirui Shen Yuanyuan Wang Jiahui Zhu Yi Zhao Xujie Wang Yi Liu Shenxi Ouyang Chunquan Sheng Fuming Shen Pei Wang | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,9: | 3 |
