2Ultrahigh performance concrete–properties, applications and perspectives显示文摘Over the last twenty years,remarkable advances have taken place in the research and application of ultra-high performance concrete(UHPC),which exhibits outstanding mechanical properties and excellent durability.It has shown great potential for the next generation infrastructure construction from the sustainability point of view.This paper will give an overview on UHPC,with particular focus on the properties,applications and perspectives.After several decades of development,several types of commercial UHPC materials are available in the market,and the properties of UHPC have been characterized by numerous experimental and field tests.Generally speaking,the performance(e.g.mechanical properties and durability)of UHPC is much better than normal concrete(NC)and high performance concrete(HPC).Therefore,the uses of UHPC are growing all over the world,in both fields of new construction and retrofitting.Nevertheless,it is still a special material and technology,which is not worldwide accepted.So some application prospects of UHPC are briefly introduced in the paper,and the efforts,which have to be made to turn UHPC into a widespread‘regular’technology,are discussed.This paper aims to help designers,engineers,architects and infrastructure owners to know the capacities of UHPC and thus to increase the applications of this material.GU Chun Ping YE Guang SUN Wei 2015Science China(Technological Sciences)2015,58,4:28

4Indoor Allergen Levels and Household Distributions in Nine Cities Across China显示文摘Objective Chinese allergic subjects have high levels of sensitization to house dust mite(HDM) and other indoor allergens. This study quantifies common indoor allergen levels in Chinese households. Methods Dust samples were collected from nine cities. Major allergens Der p 1 and Der f 1 from Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus and D. farinae, and specific antigens of Blomia tropicalis, Tyrophagus putrescentiae, Acarus siro, and cockroach species Blattella germanica and Periplaneta americana were measured by ELISA. Results HDM allergens were found in dust samples from bedding in 95% of the Chinese households. The median levels varied from <0.006 to 9.2 μg/g of dust, depending on the city. The percentages of households having HDM allergen levels associated with the risk of developing allergy sensitization and asthma were 65% and 25%, respectively. Specific antigens of the storage mite and cockroach were only found in samples from the southern and tropical regions of China. Levels of mite allergens were generally higher in samples from bedding compared to samples from the living room, even for storage mites, whereas levels of cockroach antigens were higher in the living room samples. Conclusion HDM allergens are present in bedding dust samples from most Chinese households. Cities in southern and central China have relatively high levels of HDM major allergens compared to cities in northern and western China. 7Development and application of biological technologies in fish genetic breeding显示文摘Fish genetic breeding is a process that remolds heritable traits to obtain neotype and improved varieties.For the purpose of genetic improvement,researchers can select for desirable genetic traits,integrate a suite of traits from different donors,or alter the innate genetic traits of a species.These improved varieties have,in many cases,facilitated the development of the aquaculture industry by lowering costs and increasing both quality and yield.In this review,we present the pertinent literatures and summarize the biological bases and application of selection breeding technologies(containing traditional selective breeding,molecular marker-assisted breeding,genome-wide selective breeding and breeding by controlling single-sex groups),integration breeding technologies(containing cross breeding,nuclear transplantation,germline stem cells and germ cells transplantation,artificial gynogenesis,artificial androgenesis and polyploid breeding)and modification breeding technologies(represented by transgenic breeding)in fish genetic breeding.Additionally,we discuss the progress our laboratory has made in the field of chromosomal ploidy breeding of fish,including distant hybridization,gynogenesis,and androgenesis.Finally,we systematically summarize the research status and known problems associated with each technology.XU Kang DUAN Wei XIAO Jun TAO Min ZHANG Chun LIU Yun LIU ShaoJun 2015Science China(Life Sciences)2015,58,2:23

9Establishment of the diploid gynogenetic hybrid clonal line of red crucian carp × common carp显示文摘This study investigated the gynogenetic cytobiological behavior of the third gynogenetic generation (G3), which was generated from the diploid eggs produced by the second gynogenetic generation (G2) of red crucian carp × common carp, and determined the chromosomal numbers of G3, G2×scatter scale carp and G2×allotetraploid hybrids of red crucian carp × common carp. The results showed that the diploid eggs of G2 with 100 chromosomes, activated by UV-irradiated sperm from scatter scale carp and without the treatment for doubling the chromosomes, could develop into G3 with 100 chromosomes. Similar to the first and second gynogenetic generations (G1 and G2), G3 was also diploid (2n=100) and presented the hybrid traits. The triploids (3n=150) and tetraploids (4n=200) were produced by crossing G2 with scatter scale carp and crossing G2 with allotetraploids, respectively. The extrusion of the second polar body in the eggs of G2 ruled out the possibility that the retention of the second polar body led to the formation of the diploid eggs. In addition, we discussed the mechanism of the formation of the diploid eggs generated by G2. The establishment of the diploid gynogenesis clonal line (G1, G2 and G3) provided the evidence that the diploid eggs were able to develop into a new diploid hybrid clonal line by gynogenesis. This review presents the recent achievements in preparation and applications of nanocellulose, including a discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of various preparation methods and a summary of the applications of nanocellulose in composite materials research. 11H_2S Protecting against Lung Injury following Limb Ischemia-reperfusion by Alleviating Inflammation and Water Transport Abnormality in Rats显示文摘Objective To investigate the effect of H2 S on lower limb ischemia-reperfusion(LIR) induced lung injury and explore the underlying mechanism. Methods Wistar rats were randomly divided into control group, IR group, IR+ Sodium Hydrosulphide(NaHS) group and IR+ DL-propargylglycine(PPG) group. IR group as lung injury model induced by LIR were given 4 h reperfusion following 4 h ischemia of bilateral hindlimbs with rubber bands. NaHS(0.78 mg/kg) as exogenous H2 S donor and PPG(60 mg/kg) which can suppress endogenous H2 S production were administrated before LIR, respectively. The lungs were removed for histologic analysis, the determination of wet-to-dry weight ratios and the measurement of mRNA and protein levels of aquaporin-1(AQP1), aquaporin-5(AQP5) as indexes of water transport abnormality, and mRNA and protein levels of Toll-like receptor 4(TLR4), myeloid differentiation primary-response gene 88(MyD88) and p-NF-κB as indexes of inflammation. Results LIR induced lung injury was accompanied with upregulation of TLR4-Myd88-NF-κB pathway and downregulation of AQP1/AQP5. NaHS pre-treatment reduced lung injury with increasing AQP1/AQP5 expression and inhibition of TLR4-Myd88-NF-κB pathway, but PPG adjusted AQP1/AQP5 and TLR4 pathway to the opposite side and exacerbated lung injury. Conclusion Endogenous H2 S, TLR4-Myd88-NF-κB pathway and AQP1/AQP5 were involved in LIR induced lung injury. 12Fine mapping and marker-assisted selection (MAS) of a low glutelin content gene in rice显示文摘Rice with low glutelin content is suitable as functional food for patients affected with diabetes and kidney failure. The fine mapping of the gene(s) responsible for low glutelin content will provide information regarding the distribution of glutelin related genes in rice genome and will generate markers for the selection of low glutelin rice varieties. Following an SDS-PAGE screen of rice germplasm from Taihu Valley of China, Japonica selection W3660 is identified to be a novel mutant characterized with low glutelin content. For fine mapping the mutant gene for low glutelin content, F2 and F3 populations were derived from a cross between W3660 and Jingrennuo. SDS-PAGE analysis of the total endosperm protein showed that the low glutelin content trait was controlled by a single dominant nuclear gene. Genetic mapping, using SSRs, located this gene to chromosome 2, in the region between SSR2-001/SSR2-004 and RM1358. The dis- tances of the two markers to the target gene were 1.1 cM and 3.8 cM respectively. By semi-quantitative RT-PCR analysis, the transcripts of GluB4/GluB5 genes located within the region do not change. However, GluB5 gene located proximal to SSR2-001/SSR2-004 was specifically reduced. SSR profiles of seven Japonica varieties were compared with that of W3660 for loci in the relevant genetic region. The markers SSR2-004 and RM1358 were used for marker- assisted selection. The selection efficiencies of SSR2-004 and RM1358 were 96.8% and 92.7% respectively. 13Inhibitory effects of Curcuma aromatica oil on proliferation of hepatoma in mice显示文摘AIM To reveal the inhibitory effects ofCurcuma aromatica oil(CAO)on cellproliferation of hepatoma in mice.METHODS Two tumor inhibitory experimentsof CAO on hepatoma in mice were conducted.The inhibitory effects of CAO on proliferation ofhepatoma in mice were evaluated by DNA imagecytometry and immunohistochemical staining ofproliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA).RESULTS The tumor inhibitory rates of CAOwere 52% and 51% in two experiments,respectively.Compared with those of the saline-treated control groups,both differences werestatistically significant(P<0.01).In the groupof mice treated with CAO,the cellular nuclearDNA OD value(249±70),areas(623 μm^2±228 μm^2)and DNA(2.38±0.67)index of hepaticcarcinomas were significantly lower than thoseof the control group(430±160,1073 μm^2±101 μm^2 and 4.48±0.71).CAO also couldincrease diploidy cell rates(29.00%±9.34% vs2.97%±5.69%,P<0.01)and decreasepentaploidy cell exceeding rate(30.04%±15.10% vs 70.89%±14.94%,P<0.01).In thegroup of mice treated with CAO,the labelingindexes of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA-LI)were 30%±4%,which weresignificantly lower than 40%±6% of the controlgroup(P<0.01).CONCLUSION The inhibition of CAO on thegrowth of hepatoma in mice might be associatedwith its depression on cellular proliferativeactivity.Wan Yin Wu Qin Xu Ling Chun Shi Wei Bin Zhang 2000World Journal of Gastroenterology2000,6,2:16

16Calcium channel blockers reduce severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV) related fatality显示文摘Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS),an emerging tick-borne infectious disease caused by a novel phlebovirus (SFTS virus, SFTSV), was listed among the top 10 priority infectious diseases by the World Health Organization due to its high fatality of 12%-50% and possibility of pandemic transmission. Currently, effective anti-SFTSV intervention remains unavailable. Here, by screening a library of FDA-approved drugs, we found that benidipine hydrochloride, a calcium channel blocker (CCB), inhibited SFTSV replication in vitro. Benidipine hydrochloride was revealed to inhibit virus infection through impairing virus internalization and genome replication. Further experiments showed that a broad panel of CCBs, including nifedipine, inhibited SFTSV infection. The anti-SFTSV effect of these two CCBs was further an a lyzed in a humanized mouse model in which CCB treatment resulted in reduced viral load and decreased fatality rate. Importantly, by performing a retrospective clinical investigation on a large cohort of 2087 SFTS patients, we revealed that nifedipine administration enhaneed virus clearance, improved clinical recovery, and remarkably reduced the case fatality rate by >5-fold. 17Corrosion Inhibition of a Green Scale Inhibitor Polyepoxysuccinic Acid显示文摘The corrosion inhibition of a green scale inhibitor, polyepoxysuccinic acid (PESA) wasstudied based on dynamic tests. It is found that when PESA is used alone, it had good corrosioninhibition. So, PESA should be included in the category of corrosion inhibitors. It is not only akind of green scale inhibitor, but also a green corrosion inhibitor. The synergistic effect betweenPESA and Zn2+ or sodium gluconate is poor. However, the synergistic effect among PESA, Zn2+and sodium gluconate is excellent, and the corrosion inhibition efficiency for carbon steel is higherthan 99%. 18The cloning of Dmc1 cDNAs and a comparative study of its expression in different ploidy cyprinid fishes显示文摘Dmc1 (disrupted meiotic cDNA) is a functionally specific gene, which was firstly discovered in yeast and then found to encode a protein required for homologous chromosome synapsis during the process of meiosis. In this investigation, we cloned the partial cDNAs of Dmc1 of diploid red crucian carp, Japanese crucian carp, common carp, triploid crucian carp and allotetraploid hybrids by using a pair of degenerate primers based on the conservative sequence of amino acids of the DMC1 protein in yeast, mouse and human. The full length cDNAs were then obtained by rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE). Our data showed that the full length cDNAs of Dmc1 in the three diploid fishes are all 1375 bp long, while it is 1383 bp long in triploids and 1379 bp long in allotetraploids. And despite of the variation in length, all the cDNAs encode a protein of 342 amino acids. A high homology of 97.3% of the DMC1 protein can be drawn by comparing the amino acid sequences in the three diploids, which is also of 86%, 86% and 95% similarity to human, mouse and zebrafish, respectively. A comparative study of the expression pattern of Dmc1 was carried out by RT-PCR using specific primers against the same se-quences of coding regions in different ploidy cyprinid fishes, from which it was showed that Dmc1 was expressed only in gonads of these five kinds of fishes. The expression pattern of Dmc1 in both ovaries and testes from different ploidy fishes within breeding season was also studied by Real-time PCR, and the results showed that the expression of this gene was greatly different among the three different ploidy fishes, which was the highest of triploid and lowest of allotetraploids. The histological sections data showed matured gonads of both diploid red crucian carp and allotetraploids in breeding season, although the latter demonstrated a higher maturation, and no gonadal maturation could be observed in triploids. In conclusion, we suggest that Dmc1 is specifically expressed in the period of meiosis in all the ploidy cyprinid fishes and directly related with the development of gonad in a manner of ploidy-independent way. 19Relationship Between Serum DNA Replication, Clinicopathological Characteristics and Prognosis of Hepatitis B Virus-associated Glomerulonephritis with Severe Proteinuria by Lamivudine Plus Adefovir Dipivoxil Combination Therapy显示文摘Objective To explore the relationship between HBV DNA and the clinical manifestations, pathological types, injury severity, and prognosis with HBV-GN. Methods 102 patients with HBV-GN were divided into 3 groups, according to the serum titer of the HBV DNA. 24-h urine protein excretion, and other parameters were measured. Renal biopsy were performed. The association between HBV DNA and the pathological stage of membranous nephropathy was analyzed in 78 patients with HBV-MN. 24-h urine protein excretion was used for the evaluation of the prognosis, and the relationship between HBV DNA and prognosis were analyzed. Results Several findings were demonstrated with the increase of serum HBV DNA: 24-h urine protein excretion, plasma cholesterol, and triglycerides increased significantly(P<0.05), while the plasma level of albumin decreased significantly(P<0.05); The changes of serum creatinine, C3 and C4 were found but no statistical significance. Glomerular deposition of HBVAg increased, and the pathological injury was more severe. The clinical remission rate was lower in the high replication group after treatment as compared with the low replication group(P<0.01).
