1pH-sensitive polymeric micelles triggered drug release for extracellular and intracellular drug targeting delivery显示文摘Most of the conventional chemotherapeutic agents used for cancer chemotherapy suffer from multidrug resistance of tumor cells and poor antitumor efficacy.Based on physiological differences between the normal tissue and the tumor tissue,one effective approach to improve the efficacy of cancer chemotherapy is to develop pH-sensitive polymeric micellar delivery systems.The copolymers with reversible protonationedeprotonation core units or acid-liable bonds between the therapeutic agents and the micelle-forming copolymers can be used to form pH-sensitive polymeric micelles for extracellular and intracellular drug smart release.These systems can be triggered to release drug in response to the slightly acidic extracellular fluids of tumor tissue after accumulation in tumor tissues via the enhanced permeability and retention effect,or they can be triggered to release drug in endosomes or lysosomes by pH-controlled micelle hydrolysis or dissociation after uptake by cells via the endocytic pathway.The pH-sensitive micelles have been proved the specific tumor cell targeting,enhanced cellular internalization,rapid drug release,and multidrug resistance reversal.The multifunctional polymeric micelles combining extracellular pH-sensitivity with receptor-mediated active targeting strategies are of great interest for enhanced tumor targeting.The micelles with receptor-mediated and intracellular pH targeting functions are internalized via receptor-mediated endocytosis followed by endosomal-pH triggered drug release inside the cells,which reverses multidrug resistance.The pH sensitivity strategy of the polymeric micelles facilitates the specific drug delivery with reduced systemic side effects and improved chemotherapeutical efficacy,and is a novel promising platform for tumor-targeting drug delivery.Yanhua Liu Wenping Wang Jianhong Yang Chengming Zhou Jin Sun 2013Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2013,8,3:11
2Theory of annual runoff evolution under natural-artificial dual mode and case study of Wuding River basin on the middle Yellow River显示文摘Water cycling process in a river basin becomes more complicated because of the intensified impact by human activities. Study of the law of annual runoff evolution in a river basin is of great significance to quantitative analysis of the water resources condition in varied environment and prediction of the law of the water resources evolution in the future because year-based time span may best reflect the law of the water resources evolution driven by the nature and human activities in the river basin. This paper advances the theory of annual runoff evolution under natural-artificial dual mode based on the dual mode of the water resources evolution, and the theory is applied for the Wuding River Basin on the middle Yellow River as a case study. A thorough analysis of the precipitation-runoff relationship is made in the case of dynamic variation of ground surface conditions of the Wuding River basin, and the concept of water-soil conservation index area that indicates adoption of various measures for water and soil conservation to reflect ground surface conditions. Furthermore, precipitation-runoff empirical model is developed to reflect dynamic variation of the ground surface conditions of the river basin. 3Corrosion resistance properties of AZ31 magnesium alloy after Ti ion implantation显示文摘Magnesium alloys have a wide range of applications in industry; however, their corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and hardness are rather poor, which limit their applications. Ti ion was implanted into the AZ31 magnesium alloy surface by metal vapor vacuum arc (MEVVA) implanter. This metal arc ion source has a broad beam and high current capabilities. The implantation energy was fixed at 45 keV and the dose was at 9 × 1017 cm?2. Through ion implantation, Ti ion implantation layer with approximately 900 nm in thickness was directly formed on the surface of AZ31 magnesium alloy, by which its surface property greatly improved. The chemical states of some typical elements of the ion implantation layer were analyzed by means of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), while the cross sectional morphology of the ion im-plantation layer and the phase structure were observed by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The property of corrosion resistance of the Ti ion implanted layer was studied by the CS300P electrochemistry corrosion workstation in 3.5% NaCl solution. 4A targeted sequencing approach to find novel pathogenic genes associated with sporadic aortic dissection显示文摘Aortic dissection(AD) is a heterogeneous genetic disease of the aorta with high mortality and poor prognosis. However, only few genetic causes of AD have been explored till date. After conducting a broad literature review focused on identifying potential pathogenic pathways, we designed a panel containing 152 AD-associated genes to conduct massively parallel targeted nextgeneration sequencing of 702 sporadic aortic dissection patients and 163 matched healthy controls. After validation by Sanger sequencing, we identified 21 definitely pathogenic and 635 likely pathogenic variants in 61.25%(430/702) of patients. In these patients, 34.88%(150/430) harbored more than one variant that was either definitely or likely to be pathogenic. Among the candidate genes, we identified 546 likely pathogenic variants in 47.72%(335/702) of patients. Importantly, we identified 94 lossof-function(LOF) variants in 45 genes in AD patients, but only five LOF variants in the controls(P=1.34×10^(-4)). With a burden test, we highlighted RNF213 as an important new gene for AD pathogenesis. We also performed transcriptome sequencing of human aorta tissues to evaluate the expression levels of these newly identified genes. Our study has compiled a comprehensive genetic map of sporadic AD in the Han Chinese population. 6Magnetotail dipolarization fronts and particle acceleration:A review显示文摘In this paper, the particle acceleration processes around magnetotail dipolarization fronts(DFs) were reviewed. We summarize the spacecraft observations(including Cluster, THEMIS, MMS) and numerical simulations(including MHD, testparticle, hybrid, LSK, PIC) of these processes. Specifically, we(1) introduce the properties of DFs at MHD scale, ion scale, and electron scale,(2) review the properties of suprathermal electrons with particular focus on the pitch-angle distributions,(3)define the particle-acceleration process and distinguish it from the particle-heating process,(4) identify the particle-acceleration process from spacecraft measurements of energy fluxes, and(5) quantify the acceleration efficiency and compare it with other processes in the magnetosphere(e.g., magnetic reconnection and radiation-belt acceleration processes). We focus on both the acceleration of electrons and ions(including light ions and heavy ions). Regarding electron acceleration, we introduce Fermi,betatron, and non-adiabatic acceleration mechanisms;regarding ion acceleration, we present Fermi, betatron, reflection, resonance, and non-adiabatic acceleration mechanisms. 7Variants of genes encoding collagens and matrix metalloproteinase system increased the risk of aortic dissection显示文摘Aortic dissection(AD) is a devastating,heterogeneous condition of aorta.The homeostasis between collagens and matrix metalloproteases(MMPs)/tissue inhibitors of MMPs(TIMPs) system in the extracellular matrix plays an important role for structure and functions of aorta.However,our knowledge on association between variants of genes in this system and pathogenesis of AD is very limited.We analyzed all yet known coding human genes of collagens(45 genes),MMPs/TIMPs(27genes) in 702 sporadic AD patients and in 163 matched healthy controls,by using massively targeted next-generation and Sanger sequencing.To define the pathogenesis of potential disease-causing candidate genes,we performed transcriptome sequencing and pedigree co-segregation analysis in some genes and generated Col5a2 knockout rats.We identified 257 pathogenic or likely pathogenic variants which involved 88.89%(64/72) genes in collagens-MMPs/TIMPs system and accounted for 31.05%(218/702) sporadic AD patients.In them,84.86%patients(185/218) carried one variant,12.84%two variants and 2.30%more than two variants.Importantly,we identified 52 novel probably pathogenic loss-of-function(LOF) variants(20 nonsense,16 frameshift,14 splice sites,one stop-loss,one initiation codon) in 11.06%(50/452) AD patients,which were absent in 163controls(P=2.5×10^(-5)).Transcriptome sequencing revealed that identified variants induced dyshomeostasis in expression of collagens-TIMPs/MMPs systems.The Col5α2^(-/-) rats manifested growth retardation and aortic dysplasia.Our study provides a first comprehensive map of genetic alterations in collagens-MMPs/TIMPs system in sporadic AD patients and suggests that variants of these genes contribute largely to AD pathogenesis.Zongzhe Li Chengming Zhou Lun Tan Peng Chen Yanyan Cao Chenze Li Xianqing Li Jiangtao Yan Hesong Zeng Dao-Wu Wang Dao-Wen Wang 2017Science China(Life Sciences)2017,60,1:4

9Propofol blocks apoptosis and Bcl-2 and Bax expression induced by hypoxia-reoxygenation in primary cultures of rat hippocampal astrocytes显示文摘BACKGROUND:Cerebral hippocampal astrocytes are more sensitive to ischemic injury than neurons.Hypoxic-ischemic brain injury induces profound astrocyte apoptosis,and propofol may protect against astrocyte apoptosis. OBJECTIVE:To verify the protective effects of propofol against astrocyte apoptosis and to investigate anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 and pro-apoptotic Bax expression in primary cultures of rat hippocampal astrocytes exposed to hypoxia-reoxygenation for different periods of time following propofol treatment. DESIGN,TIME,AND SETTING:In vitro neural immunocytochemistry was performed at the Central Laboratory of Yunyang Medical College between September 2007 and March 2008. MATERIALS:A total of 30 Wistar rats,aged 1-3 days,with equal numbers of males and females, were included for isolation and culture of hippocampal astrocytes. METHODS:Hippocampal astrocytes were purified and cultured for 3 weeks and treated with four culture conditions:50μL Hank's solution(normal control);0.2 mL/L Intralipid;50μL Hank's solution for 10 minutes followed by hypoxic incubation for 4 hours and normoxic incubation for 12,24,36,48, 60 or 72 hours;propofol(250μmol/L final) for 10 minutes followed by hypoxic incubation for 4 hours and normoxic incubation for 12,24,36,48,60 and 72 hours. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:(1) Morphologic changes in hippocampal astrocytes.(2) Levels of astrocyte apoptosis and Bcl-2 and Bax expression. RESULTS:Hypoxia and reoxygenation increased apoptosis over time,with Bcl-2 expression peaking at 24 hours and decreasing gradually(P<0.01);Bax expression peaked at 72 hours(P< 0.01);the ratio of Bcl-2/Bax was 1.4,0.8,and 0.6,respectively,at 24,48 and 72 hours. Non-apoptotic astrocytes showed significant proliferation and swelling.Propofol treatment decreased apoptosis after hypoxia-reoxygenation(P<0.01),as well as Bcl-2 and Bax expression (P<0.05,P<0.01),with Bcl-2/Bax ratios of 1.6-1.8.Propofol treatment also blocked astrocyte proliferation and swelling.No apoptotic cells or Bcl-2/Bax expression was detected in astrocytes cultured in Hank's or Intralipid solution. 11Habitat use and locomotion of the François’langur(Trachypithecus francoisi)in limestone habitats of Nonggang,China显示文摘We collected data on habitat use and locomotion of the François’langur(Trachypithecus francoisi)between August 2003 and July 2004 at Nonggang Nature Reserve,China.A total of 739 h of behavioral data were collected during this study.We tested 2 predictions:(1)that the langurs may have special patterns of habitat use and locomotion adaptive to the limestone habitat,and(2)the langurs may exhibit different patterns of habitat use and locomotion among different zones of limestone hill.Our results indicated that François’langurs spent more time in the low-risk,relatively food-poor cliff-hilltop areas.When young leaves and fruit were scarce in the dry season,the langurs increased their time in the high-risk,food-rich valley basin.François’langurs were semi-terrestrial,and leaping and climbing were their main locomotor modes.These behavioral patterns are considered to be related to characteristics of topography and vegetation in limestone habitat,such as large areas of cliff and discontinuous canopy.Our results also supported Prediction 2.The langurs confined locomotion to the main canopy and frequently adopted leaping while traveling in the hillside and valley basin.While traveling in cliff-hilltop areas,they tended to stay in the lower stratus(≤5 m)or move on the ground,and walking and climbing were their dominant traveling modes.Qihai ZHOU Bang LUO Fuwen WEI Chengming HUANG 2013Integrative Zoology2013,8,4:2
12Ranging behavior of the François’langur(Trachypithecus francoisi)in limestone habitats of Nonggang,China显示文摘Ranging behavior is an important aspect of animal behavior that researchers use to investigate ecological influences on individual behavior.We collected data on the ranging behavior of one group of François’langurs(Trachypithecus francoisi)between August 2003 and July 2004 in a limestone habitat within Nonggang Nature Reserve,China.We evaluated the influences of food availability,water resources and sleeping sites on ranging behavior.During the study period,the total home range size for the study group was 64.5 or(69.3 ha if the lacunae within the borders in which langurs were not observed were included),and the mean daily path length was 541 m.These are well within the range of variation reported in Trachypithecus species.The monthly range size was between 9.8 and 23.3 ha,and monthly range size correlated negatively with young leaf availability.The langurs tended to use a larger range size during young leaf-lean periods.The langurs did not use their home range uniformly,and 74%of their activities occurred within 35%of their home range.The most heavily used quadrats in the home range were located near the most frequently used sleeping sites,suggesting that sleeping sites have a significant influence on the ranging behavior of François’langurs in limestone habitats.Qihai ZHOU Chengming HUANG Ming LI Fuwen WEI 2011Integrative Zoology2011,6,2:2

20Deep neural network-enabled battery open-circuit voltage estimation based on partial charging data显示文摘Battery management systems(BMSs) play a vital role in ensuring efficient and reliable operations of lithium-ion batteries.The main function of the BMSs is to estimate battery states and diagnose battery health using battery open-circuit voltage(OCV).However,acquiring the complete OCV data online can be a challenging endeavor due to the time-consuming measurement process or the need for specific operating conditions required by OCV estimation models.In addressing these concerns,this study introduces a deep neural network-combined framework for accurate and robust OCV estimation,utilizing partial daily charging data.We incorporate a generative deep learning model to extract aging-related features from data and generate high-fidelity OCV curves.Correlation analysis is employed to identify the optimal partial charging data,optimizing the OCV estimation precision while preserving exceptional flexibility.The validation results,using data from nickel-cobalt-magnesium(NCM) batteries,illustrate the accurate estimation of the complete OCV-capacity curve,with an average root mean square errors(RMSE) of less than 3 mAh.Achieving this level of precision for OCV estimation requires only around 50 s collection of partial charging data.Further validations on diverse battery types operating under various conditions confirm the effectiveness of our proposed method.Additional cases of precise health diagnosis based on OCV highlight the significance of conducting online OCV estimation.Our method provides a flexible approach to achieve complete OCV estimation and holds promise for generalization to other tasks in BMSs.Ziyou Zhou Yonggang Liu Chengming Zhang Weixiang Shen Rui Xiong 2024Journal of Energy Chemistry2024,90,3:0
