| 1 | Activated carbon coated palygorskite as adsorbent by activation and its adsorption for methylene blue显示文摘An activation process for developing the surface and porous structure of palygorskite/carbon(PG/C) nanocomposite using ZnC l2 as activating agent was investigated. The obtained activated PG/C was characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), field-emission scanning electron microscopy(SEM), and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller analysis(BET) techniques. The effects of activation conditions were examined,including activation temperature and impregnation ratio. With increased temperature and impregnation ratio, the collapse of the palygorskite crystal structure was found to accelerate and the carbon coated on the surface underwent further carbonization. XRD and SEM data confirmed that the palygorskite structure was destroyed and the carbon structure was developed during activation. The presence of the characteristic absorption peaks of C_C and C–H vibrations in the FTIR spectra suggested the occurrence of aromatization. The BET surface area improved by more than 11-fold(1201 m2/g for activated PG/C vs. 106 m2/g for PG/C) after activation, and the material appeared to be mainly microporous. The maximum adsorption capacity of methylene blue onto the activated PG/C reached 351 mg/g. | 2 | Mapping Spatial Distribution Characteristics of Lineaments Extracted from Remote Sensing Image Using Fractal and Multifractal Models显示文摘Mapping mineral prospectivity in vegetated areas is a challenge. For this reason, we aimed to map spatial distribution characteristics of linear structures detected in remote sensing images using fractal and multifractal models. The selected study area was the Pinghe District of the Fujian Province(China), located in the Shanghang-Yunxiao polymetallic and alunite ore belt(within the Wuyishan polymetallic belt), where mineral resources such as copper, molybdenum, gold, silver, iron, lead, zinc, alunite and pyrophyllite have been discovered. The results of our study showed that:(1) the values of fractal dimension for all lineaments, NW-trending lineaments, and NE-trending lineaments, are 1.36, 1.32, and 1.23, respectively, indicating that these lineaments are statistically self-similar;(2) the fractal dimensions of the spatial distribution of the linear structures in the four selected hydrothermal-type ore deposits of the Pinghe District, named Zhongteng, Panchi, Xiaofanshan and Fanshan, are 1.43, 1.52, 1.37 and 1.37, respectively, which are higher than the mean value in South China;(3) the spatial distribution of the linear structures extracted from the remote sensing image and displayed by the contour map of fractal dimensions, correlates well with the known hydrothermal ore deposits; and(4) the results of the anomaly map decomposed by the spectrum-area(S-A) multifractal model is much better than the original fractal dimension contour map, which showed most of the known hydrothermal-type deposits occur in the high anomalous area. It is suggested that a high step tendency possibly matches with the boundary of the volcanic edifice and the deep fault controlling the development of the rock mass and the volcanic edifice. | 5 | Microstructures, mechanical properties, and grease-lubricated sliding wear behavior of Cu–15Ni–8Sn–0.8Nb alloy with high strength and toughness显示文摘Alloys used as bearings in aircraft landing gear are required to reduce friction and wear as well as improve the load‐carrying capability due to the increased aircraft weights.Cu–15Ni–8Sn–0.8Nb alloy is well known for possessing good mechanical and wear properties that satisfy such requirements.In this study,the microstructure,mechanical properties,and grease‐lubricated sliding wear behavior of Cu–15Ni–8Sn–0.8Nb alloy with 0.8 wt%Nb are investigated.The nanoscale NbNi3 and NbNi2Sn compounds can strengthen the alloy through the Orowan strengthening mechanism.A Stribeck‐like curve is plotted to illustrate the relationship among friction coefficient,normal load,and sliding velocity and to analyze the grease‐lubricated mechanism.The wear rate increases with normal load and decreases with sliding velocity,except at 2.58 m/s.A wear mechanism map has been developed to exhibit the dominant wear mechanisms under various friction conditions.When the normal load is 700 N and the sliding velocity is 2.58 m/s,a chemical reaction between the lubricating grease and friction pairs occurs,resulting in the failure of lubricating grease and an increase in wear. | Jinjuan CHENG Mincong MAO Xueping GAN Qian LEI Zhou LI Kechao ZHOU | 2021 | Friction2021,9,5: | 1 |

| 10 | Mechanistic action of the acute toxicity of Bajitian(Morinda officinalis)in zebrafish embryos显示文摘Objectives:To investigate acute toxicity of Bajitian(Morinda officinalis)in zebrafish embryos.Methods:Zebrafish embryos at 48-h post fertilization(hpf)were exposed to Bajitian ethanol extract for72 h.The causative action of a delay in yolk sac absorption by Bajitian was investigated by RT-PCR analysis of lipid metabolism-related microsomal triglyceride transfer protein(MTP),apolipoprotein CII(ApoC2)and lipogenesis-related liver x receptor(LXR)genes.The effect of Bajitian eliciting an inflammatory response was studied by exposing 72 hpf myeloperoxidase(MPO):GFP transgenic zebrafish embryos to Bajitian extract for 4 h.Assessment was done by TUNEL,caspase-3/7,and RT-PCR analysis of the apoptosis related pathway B-cell lymphoma 2 associated X protein(Bax),Nuclear factor kappa-lightchain-enhancer of activated B cells(NF-k B)genes,neutrophil development-related stem cell leukaemia(SCL)and transcription factor PU.1 genes,to reveal the causative action of Bajitian reducing neutrophils.Results:RT-PCR analysis found that Bajitian extract had no effect on the expression of MTP or ApoC2 genes,but upregulated LXR gene,which might explain the delay in yolk sac absorption.Analysis of the inflammatory response showed that compared with negative controls,Bajitian extract significantly(P<.05)reduced the number of neutrophils in MPO:GFP embryos.TUNEL,caspase-3/7,and RT-PCR analysis of Bax and NF-k B genes found that Bajitian extract did not trigger the cell apoptosis.Further RT-PCR analysis found that Bajitian extract did not affect SCL expression,but did lead to down-regulation of PU.1.The inhibition of neutrophil development/differentiation may explain the decline in the total number of neutrophils following Bajitian treatment,which could be attributed to the anti-inflammatory effects found clinically for this drug.Conclusions:This study demonstrated that Bajitian caused a delay in yolk sac absorption and a decrease neutrophil in zebrafish embryos,which may be related to the inhibition of neutrophil development. | Lirong Tan Min Cheng Gigi Chi Ting Auyeung Oscar Yu Suen Chan Xueping Chen | 2020 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2020,7,3: | 1 |

| 12 | Extruded monolith MnO_(x)-CeO_(2)-TiO_(2) catalyst for NH_(3)-SCR of low temperature flue gas from an industry boiler:Deactivation and recovery显示文摘The selective catalytic reduction(SCR) of NO_(x) with NH_(3)(NH_(3)-SCR) technology has been widely applied for reducing NO_(x) emissions from stationary and mobile sources.In this work,the extruded monolith MnO_(x)-CeO_(2)-TiO_(2) catalyst was installed in a cement kiln for NH_(3)-SCR of NO_(x),where the flue gas temperature was 110-140℃.It is found that the monolith catalyst is severely deactivated after operating for about 200 h with almost no NO_(x) conversion at 160℃ under GHSV of 50000 h^(-1),while the fresh monolith catalyst remains 60% NO_(x) conversion.Scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive spectroscopy(SEM-EDS),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),temperature-programmed desorption of SO_(2)(SO_(2)-TPD) and thermogravimetric-differential thermal analysis(TG-DTG) experiments reveal that both MnO_(x) and CeO_(2) oxides in monolith are severely sulfated to manganese sulfate and cerium sulfate,and the external monolith walls are covered by massive ceria sulfate and little ammonium nitrate.In situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier trans form spectroscopy(DRIFTS) analysis demonstrates that the formation of nitrates at low temperatures is inhibited due to the occupation of active sites in MnO_(x)-CeO_(2)-TiO_(2) by sulfates,resulting in the decrease of low temperature activity.After washing with water,the activity of deactivated monolith catalyst can be partially recovered,together with significant loss of manganese and cerium from monolith. | Wei Shi Jingjing Liu Ying Zhu Lin Zhao Yonggang Wang Zhaohuan Cheng Xueping Peng Xiaoyan Shi Yunbo Yu Hong He | 2023 | Journal of Rare Earths2023,41,9: | 0 |
