1Effect of Huqian Wan on liver-Yin and kidney-Yin deficiency patterns in patients with knee osteoarthritis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To observe the curative effect of Huqian Wan on liver and kidney-Yin deficiency knee osteoarthritis(KOA).METHODS: One hundred patients were randomly divided into a treatment(50 patients) and control group(50 patients). In the treatment group, patients orally took the Chinese medicine Huqian Wan. Control group patients orally took Votalin, 75 mg, once a day, for 8 weeks. The visual analog scale(VAS), Western Ontario and Mc Master University Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC), and Medical Outcomes Study Short Form 36-Item Health Survey(SF36) were used to evaluate the curative effect before treatment and after 8 and 16 weeks of treatment.RESULTS: VAS and WOMAC scores significantly decreased and SF 36 scores significantly increased after treatment in both groups compared with before treatment(P < 0.05). There were significant differences in VAS, WOMAC, and SF 36 score changes between the two groups at week 16(P < 0.05).There was a significant increase in VAS and WOMAC scores in the control groups(P < 0.05) between weeks 8 and 16, but no significant difference was found in the treatment group(P > 0.05).CONCLUSION: Huqian Wan could effectively improve the clinical symptoms and quality of life in patients with KOA. 4Molecular catalysis for the steam reforming of ethanol显示文摘In this paper,the application of molecular catalysis for steam reforming of ethanol(SRE)is reviewed.Eight metals(Ni,Co,Cu,Pt,Rh,Pd,Ir and Ru)have shown high catalytic activity for SRE.Among them Ni and Rh are very promising because of high d character in the metal bond and low metal-oxygen bonding(vs.metal-carbon).They can effectively promote C–C bond cleavage in the rate-determining process during SRE.However,Rh is weak in water-gas-shift so that CH4 and CO become the main by-products at low reaction temperatures,while Ni catalysts suffer from rapid deactivation due to coking and sintering.Two low-temperature CO-free catalysts have been developed in our lab,namely Rh-Fe/Ca-Al2O3 and carbonyl-derived Rh-Co/Ce O2,in which the presence of iron oxide or Co can promote water-gas-shift reaction and significantly improve the SRE performance.On the other hand,adding 3 wt%Ca O to Ni/Al2O3 can greatly improve the catalyst stability because the Ca modification not only increases Ni concentration on the Ni/Ca-Al2O3 surface and 3d valence electron density,but also facilitates the water adsorption and coke gasification via water-gas-shift.The availability of abundant surface OH groups helps the formation and conversion of adsorbed formate intermediate.Hence,ethanol reaction on Ca-Al2O3-supported Ni,Pt,Pd and Rh catalysts are found to follow the formate-intermediated pathway,a new reaction pathway alternative to the traditional acetate-intermediated pathway.Jianyi Lin Luwei Chen Catherine Kai Shin Choong Ziyi Zhong Lin Huang 2015Science China Chemistry2015,58,1:1

10Bayesian estimation-based sentiment word embedding model for sentiment analysis显示文摘Sentiment word embedding has been extensively studied and used in sentiment analysis tasks.However,most existing models have failed to differentiate high-frequency and low-frequency words.Accordingly,the sentiment information of low-frequency words is insufficiently captured,thus resulting in inaccurate sentiment word embedding and degradation of overall performance of sentiment analysis.A Bayesian estimation-based sentiment word embedding(BESWE)model,which aims to precisely extract the sentiment information of low-frequency words,has been proposed.In the model,a Bayesian estimator is constructed based on the co-occurrence probabilities and sentiment proba-bilities of words,and a novel loss function is defined for sentiment word embedding learning.The experimental results based on the sentiment lexicons and Movie Review dataset show that BESWE outperforms many state-of-the-art methods,for example,C&W,CBOW,GloVe,SE-HyRank and DLJT1,in sentiment analysis tasks,which demonstrate that Bayesian estimation can effectively capture the sentiment information of low-frequency words and integrate the sentiment information into the word embedding through the loss function.In addition,replacing the embedding of low-frequency words in the state-of-the-art methods with BESWE can significantly improve the performance of those methods in sentiment analysis tasks.Jingyao Tang Yun Xue Ziwen Wang Shaoyang Hu Tao Gong Yinong Chen Haoliang Zhao Luwei Xiao 2022CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology2022,7,2:0

12Low-power STED nanoscopy based on temporal and spatial modulation显示文摘Stimulated emission depletion(STED)nanoscopy enables the visualization of subcellular organelles in unprecedented detail.However,reducing the power dependency remains one of the greatest challenges for STED imaging in living cells.Here,we propose a new method,called modulated STED,to reduce the demand for depletion power in STED imaging by modulating the information from the temporal and spatial domains.In this approach,an excitation pulse is followed by a depletion pulse with a longer delay;therefore,the fluorescence decay curve contains both confocal and STED photons in a laser pulse period.With time-resolved detection,we can remove residual diffraction-limited signals pixel by pixel from STED photons by taking the weighted difference of the depleted photons.Finally,fluorescence emission in the periphery of an excitation spot is further inhibited through spatial modulation of fluorescent signals,which replaced the increase of the depletion power in conventional STED.We demonstrate that the modulated STED method can achieve a resolution of<100 nm in both fixed and living cells with a depletion power that is dozens of times lower than that of conventional STED,therefore,it is very suitable for long-term superresolution imaging of living cells.Furthermore,the idea of the method could open up a new avenue to the implementation of other experiments,such as light-sheet imaging,multicolor and three-demensional(3D)super-resolution imaging.Luwei Wang Yue Chen Yong Guo Weixin Xie Zhigang Yang Xiaoyu Weng Wei Yan JunleQu 2022Nano Research2022,15,4:0
