Tectonic evolution of the Dabieshan orogen: In the view from polyphase deformation of the Beihuaiyang metamorphic zone显示文摘The Beihuaiyang metamorphic zone was formed by the Early Mesozoic collision of the North and South China Blocks. It consisted of the Foziling and Luzhenguan complexes and was thought to have never afforded a deep subduction. A similar feature of the deformation in the Dabieshan UHP metamorphic rocks implies that these different tectonic units share the same geodynamic background. The early stage of deformation can be preserved on account of their relatively shallower subduction than that for UHP rocks. On the basis of an analysis of the geo- logical structure and geochronological results, five deformational stages have been recognized: a D1-Early compressional deformation which represents the continental subduction; a D2-Early exhumation deformation producing a syn-convergence exhumation; a D3-Main deformation, represented by an exhumation deformation with Late Triassic age; a D4-Doming and its margin extensional gravity collapse deformation and finally a D5-regional extensional deformation of Cretaceous that was mostly introduced by the migmatization and plutonism.LIN Wei1, 2, Faure Michel3, WANG Qingchen1 & Arnaud Nicolas4 1. 2A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. 3Enhancing disease resistances of Super Hybrid Rice with four antifungal genes显示文摘A plant expression vector harboring four antifungal genes was delivered into the embryogenic calli of ‘9311’, an indica restorer line of Super Hybrid Rice, via modified biolistic particle bombardment. Southern blot analysis indicated that in the regenerated hygromycin-resistant plants, all the four anti-fungal genes, including RCH10, RAC22, β-Glu and B-RIP, were integrated into the genome of ‘9311’, co-transmitted altogether with the marker gene hpt in a Mendelian pattern. Some transgenic R1 and R2 progenies, with all transgenes displaying a normal expression level in the Northern blot analysis, showed high resistance to Magnaporthe grisea when tested in the typical blast nurseries located in Yanxi and Sanya respectively. Furthermore, transgenic F1 plants, resulting from a cross of R2 homo-zygous lines with high resistance to rice blast with the non-transgenic male sterile line Peiai 64S, showed not only high resistance to M. grisea but also enhanced resistance to rice false smut (a disease caused by Ustilaginoidea virens) and rice kernel smut (another disease caused by Tilletia barclayana).ZHU HuaChen1, XU XinPing1, XIAO GuoYing2,3, YUAN LongPing2 & LI BaoJian1 1 Biotechnology Research Center, Key Laboratory of Gene Engineering of Ministry of Education, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou 510275, China 2 China National Hybrid Rice R&D Center, Hunan Hybrid Rice Research Center, Changsha 410125, China 3 Institute of Subtropical Agriculture, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Changsha 410125, China 2007Science China(Life Sciences)2007,50,1:6
Preliminary discussion of low-salinity hydrothermal fluid mineralization显示文摘REVIEWING the history of the geology of mineral deposits, we may find that in the first fifty years of thetwentieth century the magmatic-hydrothermal theory of ore deposition was the most prevalent, whichgave impetus to the development of the geology of mineral deposits. In the 1960s, the drilling of theSalton Sea geothermal field, California, the United States, and discovery and study of the Red Sea seafloor hot brines and large amounts of metal sulfides removed therefrom led to the rise of the brine theory ofmineral deposition, thus elucidating the origin of massive metal sulfides and promoted the discoveryand exploration of metal deposits. After the 1970s and the 1980s, through a study of the hydrothermal ore fluids of modern hotsprings. geologists came to realize that there exist low-salinity hydrothermal ore fluids other thanZHENG Mianping R & D Center of Saline Lake and Epithermal Deposits, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, Beijing 100037, China 1999Chinese Science Bulletin1999,44,S2:5
Characteristics of ^(137)Cs deposition in steppe area显示文摘Soil wind erosion in the semiarid steppe area was studied using the 137Cs tracing technique. Comparisons of 137Cs deposition characteristics between different soil profiles indicated that slight aeolian activities occurred on sandy grasslands and semi-fixed dunes with erosion/deposition rates of less than 0.108 cm/a, whereas they were intense on semi-shifting dunes with erosion/deposition rates of higher than 1.35 cm/a.ZHANG Chunlai, ZOU Xueyong,DONG Guangrong, ZHANG Xinbao & QIN ZhiLaboratory of Blown Sand Physics and Engineering, Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Lanzhou 730000, China China Center of D 2002Chinese Science Bulletin2002,47,10:5
The effects of K^+ growth conditions on the accumulation of cesium by the bacterium Thermus sp. TibetanG6显示文摘The accumulation of cesium by the bacterium Thermus sp. TibetanG6 was examined under different K+ growth conditions. The effects of external pH and Na+ on the accumulation of ce-sium were also studied, and the mechanism involved was discussed. K+ regimes played an important role in the accumulation of cesium by the strain TibetanG6. The quantity of cesium accumulated (24 h) was much higher in K+-deficient regime than that in K+-sufficient regime. The pH and Na+ had different effects on the accumulation of cesium in the two K+ regimes. IR spectra analyses indicated that the biosorption is a process of homeostasis with cesium initially accumulated on the cell wall.WANG Hailei1,2,3, KONG Fanjing1,2,3 & ZHENG Mianping1,2,3 1. 8Variations in Wool Growth with Nutrient Supply in Northern China显示文摘Field studies on essessment of nutritional status of the grazing sheep were carried out in each of the three major grassland regions, the eastern Inner Mongolia and beyond grassland, the Inner Mongolia - Ningxia - Gansu grassland and the Xinjiang grassland, in northern China. The results obtained showed that the wool production of fine wool sheep in these regions varied between regions and seasons, with similar seasonal patterns in all regions and that reducing the seasonal variations in nutrient supply would enhance wool production substantially. Nutritional limitations to wool growth of the grazing sheep in these regions were suggested, those were: the shortage of protein supply in winter and early spring; the poor quality of much of the pasture and the hay used as supplements, the low energy intake during winter which probably necessitated the use of body stores to maintain body temperature.D X Lu,Iner(Mongolia Academy of Animal Sciences.Hohhot City.Inner Mongolia Autgolia Autonmous Region.PRC)Z C Feng,(Mongolia Academy of Animal Sciences.Hohhot City.Inner Mongolia Autgolia Autonmous Region.PRC)H R Wang,(Mongolia Academy of Animal Sciences.Hohhot City.Inner Mongolia Autgolia Autonmous Region.PRC)R Z Yang,(Xinjiang Institute of Animal Science.Xinjiang Academy of Animal Science.Yiu Hou Road.Urumqi.Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region PRC)C T Ma,(Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.Lanzhou.Gansu.PRC)D B Purser,(CSIRO Division of Animal Production.Laboratory for Rural Research.Private Bag.P.O.Wembley.Western Australia 6014)J R Lindsay(CSIRO Division of Animal Production.Laboratory for Rural Research.Private Bag.P.O.Wembley.Western Australia 6014)D W Peter(CSIRO Division of Animal Production.Laboratory for Rural Research.Private Bag.P.O.Wembley.Western Australia 6014) 1997畜牧与饲料科学1997,22,S1:3
Cesium accumulation by bacterium Thermus sp. TibetanG7:hints for biomineralization of cesium-bearing geyserite in hot springs in Tibet,China显示文摘The bacterium Thermus sp. TibetanG7, isolated from hot springs in Tibet, China, was examined for the ability to accumulate cesium from solutions. Environmental conditions were simulated and the effects of pH, K+, Na+ and K+-regimes were then studied to determine the possible role of the bacterium in the formation of cesium-bearing geyserite around these hot springs. In despite of the inhibition of K+ and Na+, the bacterium Thermus sp. TibetanG7 revealed noticeable accumulation of cesium from solutions, with maximum accumulations of 53.49 and 40.41 μmol Cesium/g cell dry weight in Na+ and K+ inhibition experiments, respectively. The accumulation of cesium by this microorganism is rapid, with 40%―50% accumulated within the first 5 min. K+-deficient cells showed a much higher capacity of cesium accu- mulation compared with K+-sufficient cells. It is evident that the bacteria within the genus thermus play a significant role in the cesium assembly. The formation of cesium-bearing geyserite is also considered.WANG HaiLei1,2,3, ZHENG MianPing1,2,3 & HUANG XiaoXing4 1 Institute of Mineral Resources, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences (CAGS), Beijing 100037, China 2 R&D Center for Saline Lake and Epithermal Deposits, CAGS, Beijing 100037, China 3 Open Laboratory of Saline Lake Resourses and Environment, CAGS, Beijing 100037, China 4 Laboratory of Microbial Resources, Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100081, China 2007Chinese Science Bulletin2007,52,19:2
Influence of Coal Nature and Structure on Ash Size Formation Characteristic and Related Pollutant Emissions During CFB Combustion显示文摘The size distribution of coal particles in a Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) boiler plays a crucial role in the complicated combustion, heat exchange and pollutant emissions in such a plat. Therefore, it is fundamental to study the different factors having influence on the size distribution of coal particles. Above all, the coal itself and in particular, the coal combination phenomenon is a very influent factor. In the frame of this work, the coal nature (elementary composition) and coal internal structure (mineral components) are studied in detail. At this intermediary stage, experiments on three typical Chinese coals on a l.5 MWt CFBC pilot plant have been made. Some primary fragmentation tests have also been made in a small lab scale fluidized bed reactor. The results from the hot pilot test show i) the variation of coal ash distributions and other CFB performance data due to the cyclone and the coal characteristics and ii) the variation of desulfurization efficiency with limestone. Whereas the bench scale primary fragmentation test, likely linked to the caking propriety of a coal, does not seem to change considerably the char size distribution.Min QIAN Arnaud BOELLE Philippe JAUD ( Electricite de France Division R&D, 6 quai Watier B.P.49 78401 Chatou, France ) Yongjie NA Qinggang LU Shaolin BAO ding CUI Weihong JIAO Huanming ZHAO (Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academ 2000Journal of Thermal Science2000,9,3:2
