2Impacts of different drying strategies on drying characteristics,the retention of bio-active ingredient and colour changes of dried Roselle显示文摘The drying kinetics of Roselle(Hibiscus sabdariffa L) of variety Terengganu(UMKL-1) and the quality attribution of Roselle were studied. The experiments were conducted using four different drying methods, including solar greenhouse drying(SD), solar greenhouse with intermittent heat pump drying(SIHP), hot air drying(HA) and heat pump drying(HP). Among the four drying methods, HP achieved the highest drying rate at a range from0.054 g H_2 O·(g DM)^(-1) ·min^(-1) to 0.212 g H_2 O·(g DM)^(-1)·min^(-1) while SD had the lowest drying rate, measured at 0.042 g H_2 O·(g DM)^(-1)·min^(-1).The analysis on colour kinetics revealed that there is no significant colour loss(p > 0.05) observed from HP's dried Roselle. 4Effects of palbociclib on oral squamous cell carcinoma and the role of PIK3CA in conferring resistance显示文摘Objective: Lack of effective therapies remains a problem in the treatment of oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC), especially in patients with advanced tumors. OSCC development is driven by multiple aberrancies within the cell cycle pathway, including amplification of cyclin D1 and loss of p16. Hence, cell cycle inhibitors of the CDK4/6-cyclin D axis are appealing targets for OSCC treatment. Here, we determined the potency of palbociclib and identified genetic features that are associated with the response of palbociclib in OSCC.Methods: The effect of palbociclib was evaluated in a panel of well-characterized OSCC cell lines by cell proliferation assays and further confirmed by in vivo evaluation in xenograft models. PIK3CA-mutant isogenic cell lines were used to investigate the effect of PIK3CA mutation towards palbociclib response.Results: We demonstrated that 80% of OSCC cell lines are sensitive to palbociclib at sub-micromolar concentrations.Consistently, palbociclib was effective in controlling tumor growth in mice. We identified that palbociclib-resistant cells harbored mutations in PIK3CA. Using isogenic cell lines, we showed that PIK3CA mutant cells are less responsive to palbociclib as compared to wild-type cells with concurrent upregulation of CDK2 and cyclin E1 protein levels. 15Function Projective Lag Synchronization of Chaotic Systems with Certain Parameters via Adaptive-impulsive Control显示文摘A new method is presented to study the function projective lag synchronization(FPLS) of chaotic systems via adaptive-impulsive control. To achieve synchronization, suitable nonlinear adaptive-impulsive controllers are designed. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory and the impulsive control technology, some effective sufficient conditions are derived to ensure the drive system and the response system can be rapidly lag synchronized up to the given scaling function matrix. 16Antiviral activity of traditional Chinese medicinal plants Dryopteris crassirhizoma and Morus alba against dengue virus显示文摘Dengue virus(DENV) has emerged as a major virus that is spread by mosquitoes. Recently, it has spread to more than a hundred nations but continues to lack specific treatable medication. Many traditional Chinese medicinal(TCM) plants are in practice for dengue fever in dengue endemic regions. These traditional medicines persevere with treatments, which modern medicines lack. The study aims to substantiate the anti-dengue potential of some traditional herbs and make them available for further studies to facilitate TCM users. Twelve TCM plants aqueous extracts were evaluated, which are described as cool herbs used for the diseases with high fever. Lead plants were established through detailed in vitro foci forming unit reduction analysis(FFURA) against all four serotypes and validated through quantitative real-time RT-PCR(q RT-PCR). Four plants potentially inhibited the virus in primary phenotypic in vitro evaluation. Two lead plants Dryopteris crassirhizoma(DC) and Morus alba(MA) were identified with half minimal inhibitory concentration(IC50) 130 and 221 μg m L^-1, respectively, while the selectivity indices(SI) were 4.21 and 4.62, respectively. Lead plants equally inhibited all four serotypes of DENV. Time-of-addition analysis suggested that, DC was active at later stages of viral replication, whereas MA was active during the early stages and even showed some prophylactic activity. Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(HPLC/MS) analysis revealed presence of flavonoids. DC and MA are identified as potential anti-dengue plants, active against varied stages of dengue virus replication cycle. 19Spatio-temporal heuristic method:a trajectory planning for automatic parking considering obstacle behavior显示文摘Purpose–The purpose of this paper is to develop a real-time trajectory planner with optimal maneuver for autonomous vehicles to deal with dynamic obstacles during parallel parking.Design/methodology/approach–To deal with dynamic obstacles for autonomous vehicles during parking,a long-and short-term mixed trajectory planning algorithm is proposed in this paper.In long term,considering obstacle behavior,A-star algorithm was improved by RS curve and potential function via spatio-temporal map to obtain a safe and efficient initial trajectory.In short term,this paper proposes a nonlinear model predictive control trajectory optimizer to smooth and adjust the trajectory online based on the vehicle kinematic model.Moreover,the proposed method is simulated and verified in four common dynamic parking scenarios by ACADO Toolkit and QPOASE solver.Findings–Compared with the spline optimization method,the results show that the proposed method can generate efficient obstacle avoidance strategies,safe parking trajectories and control parameters such as the front wheel angle and velocity in high-efficient central processing units.Originality/value–It is aimed at improving the robustness of automatic parking system and providing a reference for decision-making in a dynamic environment.Nianfei Gan Miaomiao Zhang Bing Zhou Tian Chai Xiaojian Wu Yougang Bian 2022Journal of Intelligent and Connected Vehicles2022,5,3:0
20Prevalence and risk assessment of antibiotics in riverine estuarine waters of Larut and Sangga Besar River, Perak显示文摘Antibiotics released into the environment through anthropogenic activities exert selective pressure,driving bacteria towards increasing antimicrobial resistance.The prevalence of antibiotics and the ecological risks posed in the riverine estuarine of Larut River and Sangga Besar River,which included wastewater effl uents from hospital,zoo,and poultry slaughterhouse sources were investigated.Solid phase extraction(SPE)followed by high-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass chromatography(HPLC-MS/MS)were used to extract and quantify the antibiotic residues from 22 antibiotics belonging to six major antibiotic classes(sulfonamide,macrolide,fl uoroquinolone,phenicol,trimethoprim,and tetracycline).Sixteen antibiotic residues were detected with concentrations ranging from limit of detection(LOD)to 1262.3 ng/L.Fluoroquinolones and macrolides were the most frequently detected compounds.Erythromycin,clarithromycin,and ofl oxacin detected in hospital and zoo effl uents posed a high risk to algae while tetracycline had low to medium ecological risks toward all the relevant organisms from aquatic environments(algae,invertebrate Daphnia magna,and fi sh).Kyleyoung LOW Layching CHAI Choonweng LEE Gan ZHANG Ruijie ZHANG Vaezzadeh VAHAB Chuiwei BONG 2021Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2021,39,1:0
