| 6 | Feasibility of using ultrasound in ambulances in Saudi Arabia显示文摘BACKGROUND In developed countries,the economic feasibility of using ultrasound in ambulances before arriving at the hospital has been achieved through comprehensive studies,and this of course does not apply to Arab countries,as there are no current studies to support this.Therefore,this study is a preliminary measure of the economic feasibility of using ultrasound in ambulances in Saudi Arabia.AIM To measure the demand for ultrasound equipment in ambulances in Saudi Arabia.METHODS A cross-sectional study of five different groups of participants including radiation technologists,emergency physicians,paramedics,Red Crescent managers and the public.Email and social media were used to deliver a questionnaire to these groups.The questionnaire included specific questions to measure the purpose of ultrasound use in each group of participants.RESULTS Each group had some knowledge on ultrasound and its benefits.More than 50%in each study group supported the availability of ultrasound in ambulances.Additionally,60%of emergency physicians reported that they had difficulties in venous access,checking the presence of internal bleeding,recognizing pregnancy in trauma cases,and inserting endotracheal tubes,and the majority of them confirmed the effective role of ultrasound in achieving such tasks.Almost all paramedics(93.33%),physicians(98.89%),and Saudi Red Crescent managers(96.3%)emphasized the importance of communication between ambulance staff and emergency departments.Moreover,most physicians(77.78%),and technologists(82.73%)supported the presence of paramedics in ambulances to operate ultrasound in order to improve patient outcomes.CONCLUSION Most of the study groups evaluated had knowledge on ultrasound and supported the presence of ultrasound devices in ambulances. | Ibrahem Abbas Bassam Z Shakhreet Aseel Alghamdi Basmah Wali Bashayer Alelyani Teef Alshehri | 2020 | World Journal of Radiology2020,12,12: | 0 |

| 8 | Kinetic Study for Adsorption of Heavy Metals on Zeolite显示文摘Heavy metals⁃polluted water has negative impact on the ecosystem.In Malaysia,minimum discharge limit for Cu^(2+)and Zn^(2+)are 1 mg/L and 2 mg/L,respectively.Zeolite is a highly porous adsorbent and its performance is affected by various factors,including contact time and pH.Thus,the objective of this study is to identify an ideal operating condition to treat Cu^(2+)and Zn^(2+)solutions up to the allowable discharge limit,by considering the pH and contact time factors.Six kinetic models were studied to identify the adsorption mechanism of the heavy metal removal process.Single solute batch adsorption experiment was conducted within pH 3-11 from 30 to 150 min.Results showed that hydration enthalpy(ΔHhyd)governed the selectivity of heavy metals,where a maximum of 90.87%Zn^(2+)(ΔH_(hyd)=-1955 kJ/mol)and 82.15%Cu^(2+)(ΔH_(hyd)=-2010 kJ/mol)removals were found at pH≥7.Without pH adjustment,selectivity towards Cu^(2+)was higher compared with Zn^(2+)due to the size of hydration radii,where Cu^(2+)is 0.11Åsmaller than Zn^(2+).By considering both pH and contact time factors,this study shows that by adjusting the pH of Zn^(2+)solutions to a minimum pH value of 7,the contact time required to achieve maximum Zn^(2+)removal rate was 90%,which can be achieved within 60 min.Meanwhile,zeolite performed better in Cu^(2+)removal without any pH adjustment where a maximum of 94%was achieved at 120 min.Final concentration of 0.523 mg/L Cu^(2+)and 0.981 mg/L Zn^(2+)were obtained in this study.Kinetic study showed that Ritchie’s equation predicted Cu^(2+)adsorption the best,while Zn^(2+)adsorption could be represented by Elovich model.This suggested that the adsorption on the activate site governed Cu^(2+)and Zn^(2+)removal process.Hence,future work should focus on modifying zeolite surface to improve the adsorptive performance. | Kow Jing Yang Lim Lee Fong Chan Mieow Kee Aseel Ali Saeed | 2022 | Journal of Harbin Institute of Technology(New Series)2022,29,1: | 0 |

| 10 | Internal friction behavior of Zr_(59)Fe_(18)Al_(10)Ni_(10)Nb_(3)metallic glass under different aging temperatures显示文摘We investigate the role of aging temperature on relaxation of internal friction in Zr_(59)Fe_(18)Al_(10)Ni_(10)Nb_(3)metallic glass.For this purpose,dynamic mechanical analysis with different annealing temperatures and frequency values is applied.The results indicate that the aging process leads to decrease in the dissipated energy in the temperature range of glass transition.It is also found that the increase in applied frequency weakens the loss factor intensity in the metallic glass.Moreover,the Kohlrausch-Williams-Watts(KWW)equation is used to evaluate the evolution of internal friction during the aging process.According to the results,higher annealing temperature will make the primary internal friction in the material increase;however,a sharp decline is observed with the time.The drop in characteristic time of internal friction is also closely correlated to the rate of atomic rearrangement under the dynamic excitation so that at higher annealing temperatures,the driving force for the collaborative movement of atoms is easily provided and the mean relaxation time significantly decreases. | Israa Faisal Ghazi Israa Meften Hashim Aravindhan Surendar Nalbiy Salikhovich Tuguz Aseel MAljeboree Ayad FAlkaim Nisith Geetha | 2021 | Chinese Physics B2021,30,2: | 0 |
