1New eolian red clay sequence on the western Chinese Loess Plateau linked to onset of Asian desertification about 25 Ma ago显示文摘The expansion of inland Asia deserts has considerably influenced the environmental, social and economic activities in Asia. Aridification of inland Asia, especially timing of the initiation of Asian desertification, is a contentious topic in paleoclimatology. Late Cenozoic eolian loess-red clay sequences on the Chinese Loess Plateau, which possess abundant paleoclimatic and paleo-environmental information, can be regarded as an indicator of inland Asia desertification. Here we present a detailed magnetostratigraphic investigation of a new red clay sequence about 654 m in Zhuanglang located at the western Chinese Loess Plateau. Sedimentological, geochemical, mineralogical, and quartz morphological lines of evidence show that the red clay is of eolian origin. Magnetostratigraphic correlations indicate that this core sequence spans from 25.6 to 4.8 Ma, and typical eolian red clay appears as early as 25 Ma. This extends the lower limit of the red clay on the Chinese Loess Plateau from the previously thought early Miocene back into the late Oligocene. This new red clay record further implies that the inland Asia desertification was initiated at least by the late Oligocene. 2FUSAR-Ship:building a high-resolution SAR-AIS matchup dataset of Gaofen-3 for ship detection and recognition显示文摘Gaofen-3 (GF-3) is China's first civil C-band fully polarimetric spaceborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) primarily missioned for ocean remote sensing and marine monitoring. This paper proposes an automatic sea segmentation, ship detection, and SAR-AIS matchup procedure and an extensible marine target taxonomy of 15 primary ship categories, 98 sub-categories, and many non-ship targets. The FUSAR-Ship high-resolution GF-3 SAR dataset is constructed by running the procedure on a total of 126 GF-3 scenes covering a large variety of sea, land, coast, river and island scenarios. It includes more than 5000 ship chips with AIS messages as well as samples of strong scatterer, bridge, coastal land, islands, sea and land clutter. FUSAR-Ship is intended as an open benchmark dataset for ship and marine target detection and recognition. 5Probiotics increase T regulatory cells and reduce severity of experimental colitis in mice显示文摘AIM:To investigate the effect of probiotics on regulating T regulatory cells and reducing the severity of experimental colitis in mice. METHODS:Forty C57/BL mice were randomly divided into four groups.Colitis was induced in the mice using 2,4,6-trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid(TNBS).After 10-d treatment with Bifico capsules(combined bifidobacterium,lactobacillus and enterococcus),body weight,colonic weight,colonic weight index,length of colon,and histological scores were evaluated.CD4+CD25+Foxp3+T cell in mesenteric lymph nodes were measured by flow cytometry,and cytokines in colonic tissue homogenateswere analyzed by a cytometric bead array. RESULTS:The colonic weight index and the colonic weight of colitis mice treated with Bifico were lower than that of TNBS-induced mice without treatment. However,colonic length and percent of body weight amplification were higher than in TNBS-induced mice without treatment.Compared with TNBS-induced mice without treatment,the level of CD4+CD25+Foxp3+T cells in mesenteric lymph nodes,the expression of interleukin(IL)-2,IL-4 and IL-10 in colonic tissues from colitis mice treated with Bifico were upregulated,and tumor necrosis factor-αand interferon-γwere downregulated. Genetic, alimentary and environmental disease factors may change gut flora and increase opportunistic and pathogenic bacteria, contributing to immune or non-immune mediated kidney diseases including Ig A nephropathy and diabetic nephropathy. Additionally, bacterial metabolites may be a source of uremic toxins. 8Influence of MoSi_(2) on oxidation protective ability of TaB_(2)-SiC coating in oxygen-containing environments within a broad temperature range显示文摘TaB_(2)-SiC coating modified by different content of MoSi_(2) was fabricated on graphite substrate with SiC inner coating by liquid phase sintering to elevate the anti-oxidation capability of the TaB_(2)-SiC coatings.As compared to the sample with the TaB_(2)-40wt% SiC coating,the coating sample modified with MoSi_(2) exhibited a weight gain trend at lower temperatures,the fastest weight loss rate went down by 76%,and the relative oxygen permeability value reduced from about 1% to near 0.More importantly,the large amount of SiO_(2) glass phase produced over the coating during oxidation was in contact with the modification of MoSi_(2),which was proved to be beneficial to the dispersion of Ta-oxides.A concomitantly formed continuous Ta-Si-O-B compound glass layer showed excellent capacity to prevent oxygen penetration.However,when the TaB_(2) content was sacrificed to increase the MoSi_(2) content,the relative oxygen permeability of the coating increased instead of decreased.Thus,on the basis of ample TaB_(2) content,increasing the MoSi_(2) content of the coating is conducive to reducing the relative oxygen permeability of the coatings in a broad temperature region.Xuanru REN Junshuai LV Wei LI Yuwen HU Ke SUN Can MA Hong’ao CHU Weiguang WANG Leihua XU Ziyu LI Peizhong FENG 2020Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,6:4
9Ag@Au core/shell triangular nanoplates with dual enzyme-like properties for the colorimetric sensing of glucose显示文摘Due to the serious harm of diabetes to human health,development of sensitive assays for glucose level is of high significance for early prevention and treatment of diabetes.Currently,most conventional enzyme-based glucose sensors suffer from high cost and low stability due to the inherent defects of natural enzymes.Herein,we develop a pure nanozyme-based glucose detection method using Ag@Au core/shell triangular nanoplates(TNPs),which combines glucose oxidase(GOD)-and horseradish peroxidase(HRP)-like activities of the Au shell and inherent plasmonic properties of Ag TNPs.The sensing mechanism is based on the fact that the Au shell possessed GOD-like activity,enabling the oxidation of glucose to produce H2O2,which can further etch the silver core,leading to the decrease of absorbance at 800 nm and the color change from blue to colorless.Compared with the previous nanozymes-based glucose sensors,our method avoids the use of enzymes and organic chromogenic agent.Moreover,the stability of the Ag@Au core/shell TNPs is much better than that of Ag TNPs due to the protection by the coating of the Au shell.This method was successfully applied to the detection of urine samples from patients with diabetes,indicating its practical applicability for real sample analysis.Ao Liu Mengmeng Li Jingxiang Wang Fan Feng Yu Zhang Zhiwei Qiu Yuzhu Chen Benjamin Edem Meteku Congying Wen Zifeng Yan Jingbin Zeng 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,5:3

12Genome-wide association study and genomic prediction of Fusarium ear rot resistance in tropical maize germplasm显示文摘Fusarium ear rot(FER)is a destructive maize fungal disease worldwide.In this study,three tropical maize populations consisting of 874 inbred lines were used to perform genomewide association study(GWAS)and genomic prediction(GP)analyses of FER resistance.Broad phenotypic variation and high heritability for FER were observed,although it was highly influenced by large genotype-by-environment interactions.In the 874 inbred lines,GWAS with general linear model(GLM)identified 3034 single-nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)significantly associated with FER resistance at the P-value threshold of 1×10^(-5),the average phenotypic variation explained(PVE)by these associations was 3%with a range from 2.33%to 6.92%,and 49 of these associations had PVE values greater than 5%.The GWAS analysis with mixed linear model(MLM)identified 19 significantly associated SNPs at the P-value threshold of 1×10^(-4),the average PVE of these associations was 1.60%with a range from 1.39%to 2.04%.Within each of the three populations,the number of significantly associated SNPs identified by GLM and MLM ranged from 25 to 41,and from 5 to 22,respectively.Overlapping SNP associations across populations were rare.A few stable genomic regions conferring FER resistance were identified,which located in bins 3.04/05,7.02/04,9.00/01,9.04,9.06/07,and 10.03/04.The genomic regions in bins 9.00/01 and 9.04 are new.GP produced moderate accuracies with genome-wide markers,and relatively high accuracies with SNP associations detected from GWAS.Moderate prediction accuracies were observed when the training and validation sets were closely related.These results implied that FER resistance in maize is controlled by minor QTL with small effects,and highly influenced by the genetic background of the populations studied.Genomic selection(GS)by incorporating SNP associations detected from GWAS is a promising tool for improving FER resistance in maize.Yubo Liu Guanghui Hu Ao Zhang Alexander Loladze Yingxiong Hu Hui Wang Jingtao Qu Xuecai Zhang Michael Olsen Felix San Vicente Jose Crossa Feng Lin Boddupalli M.Prasanna 2021The Crop Journal2021,9,2:3
13Engineering the near-field imaging of a rectangular-lattice photonic-crystal slab in the second band显示文摘Imaging properties of a two-dimensional rectangular-lattice photonic crystal (PC) slab consisting of air holes immersed in a dielectric are studied in this work. The field patterns of electromagnetic waves radiated from a point source through the PC slab are calculated with the finite-difference time-domain method. Comparing the field patterns with the corresponding equifrequency-surface contours simulated by the plane-wave expansion method, we find that an excellent-quality near-field image may be formed through the PC slab by the mechanisms of the simultaneous action of the self-collimation effect and the negative-refraction effect. 17Designing a toroidal crystal for monochromatic X-ray imaging of a laser-produced He-like plasma显示文摘In this study,a toroidal quartz(2023)crystal is designed for monochromatic X-ray imaging at 72.3◦.The designed crystal produces excellent images of a laser-produced plasma emitting He-like Ti X-rays at 4.75 keV.Based on the simulations,the imaging resolutions of the spherical and toroidal crystals in the sagittal direction are found to be 15 and 5μm,respectively.Moreover,the simulation results show that a higher resolution image of the source can be obtained by using a toroidal crystal.An X-ray backlight imaging experiment is conducted using 4.75 keV He-like Ti X-rays,a 3×3 metal grid,an imaging plate and a toroidal quartz crystal with a lattice constant of 2d=0.2749 nm.The meridional and sagittal radii of the toroidalα-quartz crystal are 295.6 and 268.5 mm,respectively.A highly resolved image of the microgrid,with a spatial resolution of 10μm,is obtained in the experiment.By using similar toroidal crystal designs,the application of a spatially resolved spectrometer with high-resolution X-ray imaging ability is capable of providing imaging data with the same magnification ratio in the sagittal and meridional planes.Miao Li Tong Yao Zuhua Yang Jun Shi Feng Wang Guohong Yang Minxi Wei Ao Sun Yang Li 2022High Power Laser Science and Engineering2022,10,6:1
