1血糖控制良好的2型糖尿病患者血清VEGF-A及其受体VEGFR1和VEGFR2含量检测(英文)显示文摘研究目的:探讨血糖控制良好的2型糖尿病患者血管内皮生长因子-A(VEGF-A)及其受体VEGFR1和VEGFR2含量及其临床意义。研究方法:本文以31例血糖得到良好控制且没有明显大血管或微血管病变的2型糖尿病患者作为研究对象(实验组),30位健康志愿者为对照组,同期检测患者及健康志愿者的空腹血糖、血脂、糖化血红蛋白水平,及血清VEGF-A、VEGFR1和VEGFR2含量,并加以比较和统计学分析。重要结论:研究结果表明,血糖控制良好的2型糖尿病患者血清中的VEGF-A及其受体VEGFR1和VEGFR2的含量和健康志愿者基本一致,两者无统计学意义,这可能显示血糖水平的合理控制能延缓血管并发症的产生。同时,2型糖尿病患者的血清VEGFR2含量和高密度脂蛋白胆固醇水平之间存在负相关,而血清VEGF-A、VEGFR2含量和甘油三脂水平之间存在正相关,这也表明糖尿病患者的血脂紊乱可能参与了血管生成的调节。Barbara RUSZKOWSKA-CIASTEK Alina SOKUP Maciej W. 15A flexible protruding microelectrode array for neural interfacing in bioelectronic medicine显示文摘Recording neural signals from delicate autonomic nerves is a challenging task that requires the development of a lowinvasive neural interface with highly selective,micrometer-sized electrodes.This paper reports on the development of a three-dimensional(3D)protruding thin-film microelectrode array(MEA),which is intended to be used for recording low-amplitude neural signals from pelvic nervous structures by penetrating the nerves transversely to reduce the distance to the axons.Cylindrical gold pillars(O 20 or 50μm,~60μm height)were fabricated on a micromachined polyimide substrate in an electroplating process.Their sidewalls were insulated with parylene C,and their tips were optionally modified by wet etching and/or the application of a titanium nitride(TiN)coating.The microelectrodes modified by these combined techniques exhibited low impedances(~7 kΩ at 1 kHz for ∅ 50μm microelectrode with the exposed surface area of~5000μm^(2))and low intrinsic noise levels.Their functionalities were evaluated in an ex vivo pilot study with mouse retinae,in which spontaneous neuronal spikes were recorded with amplitudes of up to 66μV.This novel process strategy for fabricating flexible,3D neural interfaces with low-impedance microelectrodes has the potential to selectively record neural signals from not only delicate structures such as retinal cells but also autonomic nerves with improved signal quality to study neural circuits and develop stimulation strategies in bioelectronic medicine,e.g.,for the control of vital digestive functions.Helen Steins Michael Mierzejewski Lisa Brauns Angelika Stumpf Alina Kohler Gerhard Heusel Andrea Corna Thoralf Herrmann Peter D.Jones Günther Zeck Rene von Metzen Thomas Stieglitz 2022Microsystems & Nanoengineering2022,8,6:0
16COVID-19 impact on the liver显示文摘The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic imposed arestructuring of global health systems by rethinking spaces used for the care of these patients and the additions of intensive care,infectious diseases and pneumology departments.This paper provides evidence on the presence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 in hepatocytes and its direct cytopathic activity,as well as the degree of liver damage due to drug toxicity,inflammation and hypoxia in COVID-19.A review of clinical trials has quantified liver damage through both pathology and biochemistry studies.Additionally,we briefly present the results of a study conducted in our clinic on 849 patients admitted for COVID-19 treatment,of which 31 patients had pre-existing chronic liver disease and 388 patients had values above the normal limit for alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase,and total bilirubin.It was observed that patients with abnormal liver tests were significantly statistically older,had more comorbidities and had a higher percentage of unfavourable evolution(death or transfer to intensive care).The conclusion of this paper is that the main causes of liver damage are direct viral aggression,coagulation dysfunction and endothelial damage,and patients with impaired liver function develop more severe forms of COVID-19 which requires special care by a multidisciplinary team that includes a hepatologist.Liliana Baroiu Caterina Dumitru Alina Iancu Ana-Cristina Leșe Miruna Drăgănescu Nicușor Baroiu Lucreția Anghel 2021World Journal of Clinical Cases2021,9,16:0
17Assessment of ghrelin and leptin receptor levels in postmenopausal women who received oral or transdermal menopausal hormonal therapy显示文摘Objective:In postmenopausal women,an increased leptin concentration and reduced levels of ghrelin and adiponectin were observed.The aim of this study was to evaluate the concentrations of the active form of ghrelin,total ghrelin,leptin receptor,lipoprotein(a)(Lp(a)),and plasminogen activator inhibitor type 1(PAI-1) in postmenopausal women who received oral or transdermal menopausal hormonal therapy(MHT).Methods:The study involved 76 healthy women:46 women aged from 44 to 58 years who received oral(26) or transdermal(20) MHT;the control group consisted of 30 women aged from 44 to 54 years who did not receive MHT.The plasma concentrations of total ghrelin,the active form of ghrelin,Lp(a),and PAI-1:Ag were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).The concentration of the leptin receptor was measured by enzyme immunometric assay(EIA).Results:We observed a significantly higher concentration of total ghrelin and the active form of ghrelin in women who received transdermal MHT in comparison with those who took oral MHT.We also found a significantly lower concentration of total ghrelin in women who received oral MHT compared with the control group.A higher concentration of PAI-1:Ag was found in the group of women who took transdermal MHT in comparison with those who took oral MHT and with the control group.The differences were statistically significant.Additionally,we found a significant negative correlation between the concentrations of total ghrelin and PAI-1:Ag and a positive correlation between the concentrations of total ghrelin and leptin receptor in women who received transdermal MHT.Conclusions:The study showed that women who used transdermal MHT had higher levels of total ghrelin than women who took oral MHT.This indicates a beneficial effect of the transdermal route of MHT.However,transdermal therapy was associated with adverse effects with regard to the observed higher levels of PAI-1:Ag,which in turn,can lead to a reduction in fibrinolytic activity.Barbara RUSZKOWSKA Alina SOKUP Arleta KULWAS Maciej W.SOCHA Krzysztof GóRALCZYK Barbara GóRALCZYK Danuta ROS 2012Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2012,13,1:0
