1Geochemical-geomorphological Evidence for the Provenance of Aeolian Sands and Sedimentary Environments in the Hunshandake Sandy Land, Eastern Inner Mongolia, China显示文摘Identifying the provenance of aeolian sediments in the Hunshandake Sandy Land is of great importance for understanding the formation of the dune fields in the mid-latitudes and for deciphering information about desert's responses to global change. By determining the major and trace elements concentrations of aeolian sands in three grain size fractions from the central and western parts of the Hunshandake Sandy Land, we systematically study the provenance and the depositional history of aeolian sands in this desert environment. Our results show that aeolian sands from the Hunshandake Sandy Land are enriched in SiO2 and are depleted in many other elements compared to those of the Upper Continent Crust (UCC). Variations of the immobile elements ratios like Zr/Hf, La/Yb, Th/Nb, La/Nb,LaN/YbN , GdN/YbN are relatively large in the coarse and medium fractions but minor in the fine fractions. Eu anomalies are quite different in the coarse fractions, but mostly positive in the medium fractions and all negative in the fine fractions. Decreasing tendency of Zr concentrations from the west to the east in the Hunshandake Sandy Land is evident in the coarse sands but rather weak in the fine grain size fractions. Our geochemical data indicate that the sources for the coarse and medium fractions of aeolian sands are diverse, influenced by local geology and geomorphology, while the fine sand fractions are more homogenous due to intensive mixture mainly by aeolian processes. Various ratios of immobile elements suggest that these sands should be sourced primarily from the surrounding mountains by fluvial/alluvial processes rather than from any remote territories. Aeolian sands with Ce negative anomalies are widely distributed in the Hunshandake Sandy Land, indicating that aquatic environments have occurred extensively prior to the occurrence of the dune field.LIU Ziting YANG Xiaoping 2013Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2013,87,3:13
2Injectable baicalin/F127 hydrogel with antioxidant activity for enhanced wound healing显示文摘Baicalin,extracted from traditional Chinese medicine Scutellaria baicalensis Georg,possesses multiple pharmacological activities and has great potential for chronic skin wound repair.However,the poor solubility and lack of suitable vehicles greatly limit its further application.Herein,we proposed a convenient and robust strategy,employing PBS solution as solvent,to enhance the solubility of baicalin.Furthermore,we constructed injectable baicalin/F127 hydrogels to study their application in skin wound treatment.The composition and temperature sensitivity of baicalin/Pluronic®F-127 hydrogels were confirmed by FTIR and rheological testing,respectively.In vitro release measurement indicated that the first order model was best fitted with the release profile of baicalin from hydrogel matrix.Besides,MTT assay,AO/EO staining assay as well as hemolytic activity test revealed the excellent cytocompatibility of baicalin/F127 hydrogels.Antioxidant activity assay demonstrated the cytoprotective activity of baicalin/F127 hydrogels against reactive oxygen species(ROS).Furthermore,the in vivo experiments exhibited the ability of baicalin/F127 hydrogel to accelerate wound healing.In conclusion,this novel injectable baicalin/F127 hydrogel should have bright application for chronic wound treatment.Guiting Liu Ziting Bao Jun Wu 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,7:4

6Highly Sensitive and Fast Hydrogen Detection Based on Light-Induced Thermoelastic Spectroscopy显示文摘As a new energy source,hydrogen(H_(2))detection is a hot topic in recent years.Because of the weak absorption characteristic,laser spectroscopy-based H_(2)detection is challenging.In this paper,a highly sensitive H_(2)sensor based on light-induced thermoelastic spectroscopy(LITES)technique is demonstrated for the first time.A continuous-wave,distributed feedback diode laser with emission in the 2.1μm region was adopted as the excitation source to target the strongest H_(2)absorption line of 4,712.90 cm^(−1).A Herriott multipass cell with an optical length of 10.1 m was chosen to further improve the H_(2)absorption.With the feature of processing the raw input data without data preprocessing and extracting the desired features automatically,the robust shallow neural network(SNN)fitting algorithm was brought in to denoise the sensor.For the LITES-based H_(2)sensor,the concentration response was tested,and an excellent linear response to H_(2)concentration levels was achieved.A minimum detection limit(MDL)of~80 ppm was obtained.On the basis of implementation of the H_(2)-LITES sensor,a heterodyne H_(2)-LITES sensor was further constructed to realize a fast measurement of resonance frequency of quartz tuning fork and H_(2)concentration simultaneously.The resonance frequency can be retrieved in several hundred milliseconds with the measurement accuracy of±0.2 Hz,and the result of 30,713.76 Hz is exactly same as the experimentally determined value of 30,713.69 Hz.After the SNN algorithm was applied,an MDL of~45 ppm was achieved for this heterodyne H_(2)-LITES sensor.Yufei Ma Tiantian Liang Shunda Qiao Xiaonan Liu Ziting Lang 2023Ultrafast Science2023,3,3:2
7Forecasting the volatility of EUA futures with economic policy uncertainty using the GARCH‑MIDAS model显示文摘This study investigates the impact of economic policy uncertainty(EPU)on the volatility of European Union(EU)carbon futures prices and whether it has predictive power for the volatility of carbon futures prices.The GARCH-MIDAS model is applied for evaluating the impact of different EPU indexes on the price volatility of European Union Allowance(EUA)futures.We then compare the predictive power for the volatility of the two GARCH-MIDAS models based on different EPU indexes and six GARCH-type models.Our empirical results show that the GARCH-MIDAS models,which exhibit superior out-of-sample predictive ability,outperform GARCH-type models.The results also indicate that EPU has noticeable effect on the volatility of EUA futures.Specifically,the forecast accuracy of the EU EPU index is significantly higher than that of the global EPU index.Robustness checks further confirm that the EPU index(especially the EPU index of the EU)has strong predictive power for EUA futures prices.Additionally,using the volatility forecasting methods that GARCH-MIDAS models combine with the EPU index,investors can construct their portfolios to realize economic returns.Jian Liu Ziting Zhang Lizhao Yan Fenghua Wen 2021Financial Innovation2021,7,1:2
8Influence of reclaimed water discharge on the dissemination and relationships of sulfonamide, sulfonamide resistance genes along the Chaobai River, Beijing显示文摘Reclaimed water represents an important source of antibiotics and antibiotic resistance genes, threatening the ecological safety of receiving environments, while alleviating water resource shortages. This study investigated the dissemination of sulfonamide (SAs), sulfonamide resistance genes (SRGs), and class one integrons (intl1) in the surface water of the recharging area of the Chaobai River. The three antibiotics sulfamethoxazole, trimethoprim, and sulfadiazine had the highest abundance. The highest absolute abundances were 2.91×10^6, 6.94×10^6, and 2.18×10^4 copies/mL for sul1, sul2, and intl 1 at the recharge point, respectively. SRGs and intl1 were widespread and had high abundance not only at the recharging point, but also in remote areas up to 8 km away. Seasonal variations of SRGs abundance followed the order of summer>autumn>spring>winter. Significant correlations were found between SRGs and intl1 (a = 0.887 and 0.786, p<0.01), indicating the potential risk of SRGs dissemination. Strong correlations between the abundance of SRGs and environmental factors were also found, suggesting that appropriate environmental conditions favor the spread of SRGs. The obtained results indicate that recharging with reclaimed water causes dissemination and enrichment of SAs and SRGs in the receiving river. 10Micro-morphological Features of Topsoil under Long-term Cultivation of Grain and Cotton Crops in Northwestern Shandong显示文摘This study aimed to provide a basis for the rational improvement of the microstructure of the soil that had been planted with crops for a long time. Conventional and micro-morphological methods were used to study the effects of planting grain and cotton crops on soil properties in Gaotang County,Shandong Province. The results showed that long-term cultivation of grain and cotton crops has a significant impact on soil micro-structure. The top soil( 0-10 cm) of wheat-maize field has higher organic matter content,uniform aggregate size,high separation,and strong packing void connectivity,forming a type micro-structure that is conducive to agricultural production. The characteristics of soil matrix are mainly inherited from soil parent materials,and the impact of crop cultivation on soil matrix is very weak. 12Overexpression of maize GOLDEN2 in rice and maize calli improves regeneration by activating chloroplast development显示文摘Golden2(G2), a member of the GARP transcription factor superfamily, regulates several biological processes and phytohormone signaling pathways in plants. In this study, we used a rice codon-optimized maize G2 gene(rZmG2) to improve the regeneration efficiency of rice and maize calli for genetic transformation. We isolated a promoter driving strong and callus-specific expression from rice to drive rZmG2 transcription from a transgene after transformation of two indica and two japonica rice cultivars. The resulting rZmG2 transgenic calli turned green in advance at the differentiation stage, thus significantly raising the regeneration rates of the transgenic indica and japonica rice plants relative to control transformations. Similar effect of this gene on improving maize transformation was also observed. Transcriptome sequencing and RT-qPCR analyses showed that many rice genes related to chloroplast development and phytohormones are upregulated in rZmG2-transgenic calli. These results demonstrate that rZmG2 can promote embryogenic callus differentiation and improve regeneration efficiency by activating chloroplast development and phytohormone pathways. We also established a heat-inducible Cre/loxP-based gene-excision system to remove rZmG2 and the antibiotic selectable gene after obtaining the transgenic plants. 15Janus hydrogel with dual antibacterial and angiogenesis functions for enhanced diabetic wound healing显示文摘Anti-infection and neovascularization at the wound site are two vital factors that accelerate diabetic wound healing. However, for a wound healing dressing, the two functions need to work at different sites(inner and outer), giving big challenges for dressing design. In this study, we fabricated a novel sodium alginate/chitosan(SA/CS) Janus hydrogel dressing by the assembly of SA hydrogel loaded with silver nanoparticles(Ag NPs) and CS hydrogel impregnated with L-arginine loaded sodium alginate microspheres(Arg MSs) based on electrostatic interactions to combine the two functions. The outer SA-Ag NP hydrogel could prevent infection while avoiding the deposition of Ag NPs in the wound site, and the inner CS-Arg MS hydrogel on the wound surface could realize the sustained release of L-arginine and promote vascular regeneration. The composition, morphology and swelling/degradation of the SA-Ag NP/CS-Arg MS hydrogel were characterized systematically. L-Arginine release behavior has been tested and SA-Ag NP/CSArg MS hydrogel has been confirmed for excellent biocompatibility. Antibacterial and angiogenesis assays demonstrated the antibacterial and angiogenesis characteristics of the SA-Ag NP/CS-Arg MS hydrogel. 16Neutrophil extracellular traps induced by interleukin 8 via CXCR1/2 promote the progression of gastric carcinoma through transcription factor IIB-related factor 1 and cyclin显示文摘Neutrophils constitute a significant portion of the immune cells present within the tumor microenvironment.Evidence generated by our group has confirmed neutrophils to be an adverse independent prognostic factor affecting the disease-free survival of gastric carcinoma(GC)patients.1 Neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs),protein-covered DNA webs that interact with tumor cells in the tumor microenvironment,were detected in GC tissues and found to clinically associated with disease progression in our previous study.2 NETosis could be mediated by a series of agonists,such as interleukin 8(IL-8).3 However,the mechanism of IL-8 in the progression of GC occurs via NETs remains unclear.In this study,we identified that IL-8-mediated NETosis can promote the proliferation,migration,and invasion of GC cells in vitro,which can be abrogated by NET degradation through deoxyribonucleaseI(DNase I)or IL-8 suppression through neutralizing antibodies.Disruption of NETs by DNase I or blockade of the IL-8-CXC chemokine receptor 2(CXCR2)axis could result in growth retardation in mouse models.We also confirmed that NETs may influence the biological behavior of GC cells by up-regulating the expression of transcription factor IB-related factor 1(BRF1)and cyclin p21/p27.Qianling Wang Yiyin Zhang Wenxi Ding Cheng Feng Yuyan Wang Xiaoli Wei Ziting Qu Hui Wang Xiaoying Liu Hua Wang Kangsheng Gu 2024Genes & Diseases2024,11,2:0

18Underwater Sea Cucumber Target Detection Based on Edge-Enhanced Scaling YOLOv4显示文摘Sea cucumber detection is widely recognized as the key to automatic culture.The underwater light environment is complex and easily obscured by mud,sand,reefs,and other underwater organisms.To date,research on sea cucumber detection has mostly concentrated on the distinction between prospective objects and the background.However,the key to proper distinction is the effective extraction of sea cucumber feature information.In this study,the edge-enhanced scaling You Only Look Once-v4(YOLOv4)(ESYv4)was proposed for sea cucumber detection.By emphasizing the target features in a way that reduced the impact of different hues and brightness values underwater on the misjudgment of sea cucumbers,a bidirectional cascade network(BDCN)was used to extract the overall edge greyscale image in the image and add up the original RGB image as the detected input.Meanwhile,the YOLOv4 model for backbone detection is scaled,and the number of parameters is reduced to 48%of the original number of parameters.Validation results of 783images indicated that the detection precision of positive sea cucumber samples reached 0.941.This improvement reflects that the algorithm is more effective to improve the edge feature information of the target.It thus contributes to the automatic multi-objective detection of underwater sea cucumbers.Ziting Zhang Hang Zhang Yue Wang Tonghai Liu Yuxiang He Yunchen Tian 2023Journal of Beijing Institute of Technology2023,32,3:0
