Three-dimensional crustal velocity structure model of the middle-eastern north China Craton (HBCrust1.0)显示文摘Lithosphere thinning and destruction in the middle-eastern North China Craton(NCC), a region susceptible to strong earthquakes, is one of the research hotspots in solid earth science. All 42 seismic wide-angle reflection/refraction profiles have been completed in the middle-eastern NCC. We collect all the 2-D profiling results and perform gridding of the velocity and interface depth data, building a 3-D crustal velocity structure model for the middle-eastern NCC, named HBCrust1.0, by using the Kriging interpolation method. Our result shows that the first-arrival times calculated by HBCust1.0 fit well with the observations. The result demonstrates that the upper crust is the main seismogenic layer, and the brittle-ductile transition occurs at depths near interface C(the interface between upper and lower crust). The depth of interface Moho varies beneath the source area of the Tangshan earthquake, and a low-velocity structure is found to extend from the source area to the lower crust. Based on these observations, it can be inferred that stress accumulation responsible for the Tangshan earthquake may have been closely related to the migration and deformation of the mantle materials. Comparisons of the average velocities of the whole crust, the upper and the lower crust show that the average velocity of the lower crust under the central part of the North China Basin(NCB) in the east of the craton is obviously higher than the regional average. This high-velocity probably results from long-term underplating of the mantle magma.DUAN YongHong WANG FuYun ZHANG XianKang LIN JiYan LIU Zhi LIU BaoFeng YANG ZhuoXin GUO WenBin WEI YunHao 2016Science China Earth Sciences2016,59,7:24
Influence of Ren and Du meridian electro-acupuncture on neural stem cell proliferation and extracellular signal-regulated kinase pathway in a rat model of focal cerebral ischemia injury显示文摘BACKGROUND:Studies have shown that electro-acupuncture at the Ren meridian could improve proliferation of subventricular zone neural stem cells in cerebral-ischemic rats. However, there are few reports on the influence of electro-acupuncture at the Du meridian on neural stem cell proliferation. OBJECTIVE:To observe the influence of electro-acupuncture at Ren and Du meridians on neural stem cell proliferation in the subventricular zone and altered signal transduction in cerebral ischemia rats. DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:A randomized, controlled, animal experiment was performed at the Laboratory of Human Anatomy,Medical College of Sun Yat-sen University from May 2006 to February 2008. MATERIALS:Mouse anti-rat bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) monoclonal antibody was provided by Sigma,USA; mouse anti-rat nestin monoclonal antibody and extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase (ERK) specific inhibitor PD98059 were provided by Calbiochem,Germany; acupuncture needle was provided by Suzhou Acupuncture Supplies,China. METHODS:A total of 126 rats were randomly assigned to four groups:model (n = 36),Du meridian (n = 36),Ren/Du meridian (n = 36),and Ren/Du meridian + PD98059 (n = 18). Rats in the Ren /Du meridian + PD98059 group were observed on days 7 (n = 6) and 14 (n = 12) after cerebral ischemia injury. Rats in the model,Du meridian, and Ren/Du meridian groups were observed on days 7,14,and 28 after cerebral ischemia injury, with 12 rats per group at each time point. Thread occlusion was used to establish middle cerebral artery occlusion models. Electro-acupuncture was performed at Renzhong (DU 26) and Baihui (DU 20) acupoints in the Du meridian group,as well as Chengjiang (RN 24),Guanyuan (RN 4),Renzhong,and Baihui acupoints in the Ren/Du meridian and Ren/Du meridian + PD98059 groups 2 days after model establishment. In addition,electro-acupuncture stimulation with disperse-dense waves was performed, with 30 Hz disperse wave,100 Hz dense wave, and 5 V intensity for 20 minutes. Rats in the Ren/Du meridian + PD98059 group were treated with 0.2 μg PD98059 injection into the subventricular zone,2 μL per rat. Rats in the model group were not treated with electro-acupuncture. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:BrdU/nestin immunofluorescent staining was used to detect proliferating neural stem cells in the subventricular zone of cerebral ischemia rats; Western blot was used to determine phosphorylated ERK1 and 2 (pERK1/2) expression in the subventricular zone. RESULTS:On days 14 and 28 after cerebral ischemia, there were significantly more BrdU-positive and BrdU/nestin-positive cells in the Ren /Du meridian group compared with the Du meridian group (P < 0.05). PD98059 decreased the number of BrdU-positive and BrdU/nestin-positive cells induced by electro-acupuncture at the Ren and Du meridians (P < 0.05). On days 7,14,and 28 after treatment,pERK1/2 expression was significantly greater in the Du meridian and Ren/Du meridian groups compared with the model group (P < 0.05). The promoting effect of electro-acupuncture at Ren and Du meridians on ERK1/2 phosphorylation was superior to electro-acupuncture at the Du meridian alone on day 14 after model induction (P < 0.05). However,PD98059 completely abolished the promoting effect of electro-acupuncture at Ren/Du meridians on pERK1/2 expression (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION:Electro-acupuncture at Ren and Du meridians increased proliferation of subventricular zone neural stem cells, which was related to activation of the ERK pathway in a rat model of cerebral ischemia injury.Wenshu Luo Haibo Yu Zhuoxin Yang Min Pi Lihong Diao Xiaodan Rao 2010Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,6:14
Electro-acupuncture at Conception and Governor vessels and transplantation of umbilical cord bloodderived mesenchymal stem cells for treating cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury显示文摘Mesenchymal stem cell transplantation is a novel means of treating cerebral ischemia/reperfusion,and can promote angiogenesis and neurological functional recovery.Acupuncture at Conception and Governor vessels also has positive effects as a treatment for cerebral ischemia/reperfusion.Therefore,we hypothesized that electro-acupuncture at Conception and Governor vessels plus mesenchymal stem cell transplantation may have better therapeutic effects on the promotion of angiogenesis and recovery of neurological function than either treatment alone. In the present study, human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells were isolated, cultured, identified and intracranially transplanted into the striatum and subcortex of rats at24 hours following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion.Subsequently,rats were electro-acupunctured at Conception and Governor vessels at 24 hours after transplantation.Modified neurological severity scores and immunohistochemistry findings revealed that the combined interventions of electro-acupuncture and mesenchymal stem cell transplantation clearly improved neurological impairment and up-regulated vascular endothelial growth factor expression around the ischemic focus. The combined intervention provided a better outcome than mesenchymal stem cell transplantation alone. These findings demonstrate that electro-acupuncture at Conception and Governor vessels and mesenchymal stem cell transplantation have synergetic effects on promoting neurological function recovery and angiogenesis in rats after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion.Haibo Yu Pengdian Chen Zhuoxin Yang Wenshu Luo Min Pi Yonggang Wu Ling Wang 2014Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,1:13
Combinatorial effects of conception and governor vessel electroacu-puncture and human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells on pathomorphologic lesion and cellular apoptosis in rats with cerebral ischemia/reperfusion显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the combinatorial effects of conception and governor vessel electroacupuncture(EA) and human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells(HUCB-MSCs) on pathomorphologic lesion and cellular apoptosis in rats with cerebral ischemia/reperfusion. METHODS: With the HUCB-MSCs isolated, cultured and identified and the models of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion established, the HUCB-MSCs of passage three were intracranially transplanted and the EA at conception and governor vessels was applied. The pathomorphologic lesion by hematoxylin-eosin staining and the cellular apoptosis by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated nick-end labeling method around the ischemic focus were observed. RESULTS: The cultured adherent HUCB-MSCs exhibited a spindle shape and expressed MSC-specific markers, with the cell purity and proliferation rate significantly increasing after the primary passage. HE staining showed that there were no pathological changes observed in the sham surgery group. However, in the PBS transplantation group, degeneration and necrosis of a great number of nerve cells were seen. In both the HUCB-MSCs transplantation group and the HUCB-MSCs transplantation + EA group, reparative changes of the pathomorphism of the tissue were found. Both combination treatment and simple MSCs treatment were able to improve the pathomorphorlogic lesion following cerebral ischemia and reduce the abnormal TUNEL-positive numbers, with former better than latter. CONCLUSION: HUCB-MSCs improve pathological lesions and inhibit the cellular apoptosis around the cerebral ischemic area. EA at conception and governor vessels also improve pathological lesion and inhibit the cellular apoptosis in rats treated with HUCB-MSCs transplantation, which effects were superior to that of simple HUCB-MSCs transplantation.Zhuoxin Yang Pengdian Chen Haibo Yu Wenshu Luo Min Pi Yonggang Wu Ling Wang Fuxia Yang Yanhua Gou 2013Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,6:5

Electroacupuncture at Du channel and meridian of foot-Taiyang for hippocampal neurons in rats with depression显示文摘BACKGROUND: Long-term anti-depression treatment can promote the regeneration of hippocampal regeneration. Up-regulation of hippocampal regeneration can reverse or prevent against the injury of stress to cerebrum, especially to hippocampal structure and function. Therefore, promoting hippocampal neuronal regeneration may be a new strategy for treating depression and anxiety. OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of electro-acupuncture at Du channel and meridian of foot-Taiyang on hippocampal neurons from model rats of depression. DESIGN: A randomized controlled animal experiment. SETTING: Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion,Shenzhen Affiliated Hospital,Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. MATERIALS: Twenty-four Wistar rats,of either gender, aged 2 months old, weighing 200-220 g,were provided by the Animal Experimental Center,Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. METHODS: This experiment was carried out in the Clinical Molecular Biochemical Laboratory,Shenzhen Affiliated Hospital,Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine between October 2006 and April 2007. ①The involved rats were randomized into 4 groups according to body mass: blank control group, model group, electroacupuncture A group and electroacupuncture B group, with 6 in each. Rats in the blank control group were free to access to water, and were not given any intervention. Rats in the latter 3 groups were developed into rat depression models by chronic stress combined with feeding alone, and received 21-day unpredictable various stresses. Rats in the model group were euthanized at 14 days after modeling, and their brain tissues were harvested. Rats in the electroacupuncture A group were modeled, then points 'Baihui' and 'Shenting' were chosen, and given electroacupuncture, once a day,20 minutes once. Rats in the electroacupuncture B group were modeled, then points 'Baihui','Shenting','Xinshu'and 'Ganshu' were chosen, and frequency and therapeutic time were the same as those of electroacupuncture A group. Rats in the latter 2 groups were also given electroacupuncture, and their brain tissues were harvested 14 days later. ②Index evaluation: Neurons in hippocampal CA1 and CA3 regions as well as dentate gyrus neuron specific enolase (NSE)-positive cells were counted by immunofluorescent technique. Each rat was weighted on the day of grouping and before execution at 35 days. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Neuron amount in each hippocampal region and body mass of rats in each group. RESULTS: Twenty-four rats were involved in the final analysis. ①Neuronal amount in each region of hippocampus: Neurons in the hippocampal CA1 and CA3 regions as well as dentate gyrus of rats in the model group were significantly less than those in the blank control group (P < 0.01). Neurons in hippocampal CA1and CA3 regions as well as dentate gyrus of rats in the electroacupuncture A and B groups were more than those in the model group (P < 0.05). ② Change in body mass of rats: Body mass increase of rats in the model group was less than that in the blank control group (P < 0.05),and body mass increase of electroacupuncture A and B groups was significantly more than that in the model group, respectively (P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: Electroacupuncture at Du channel and meridian of foot-Taiyang alleviates hippocampal neuronal injury of rats, and thereby, improves depression and promotes the increase of body mass of rats.Min Pi Wenshu Luo Lihong Diao Xiaodan Rao Haibo Yu Zhuoxin Yang 2007Neural Regeneration Research2007,2,6:2
Upper Crustal Velocity Structure along the Yangtze River from Ma'anshan to Anqing显示文摘We applied the 3D first arrival travel time tomography method to the Anhui active seismic source experiment data, and obtained the imaging of the upper crust velocity structure beneath the Yangtze River from Ma'anshan,Tongling to Anqing. Data fitting reveals the tomographic model fits the data with uncertainties, without overfitting, and with a minimum of complexity. The tomographic result shows an obvious heterogeneous upper crust which consists of a series of uplifts and depression basins. The velocity model and region imply that this region has experienced crustal uplift and extensional tectonism with concomitant magmatism since the Cenozoic.Tian Xiaofeng Wang Fuyun Liu Baofeng Yang Zhuoxin Zheng Chenglong Gao Zhanyong 2016Earthquake Research in China2016,30,3:1
Enlarging grain sizes for efficient perovskite solar cells by methylamine chloride assisted recrystallization显示文摘The quality of MAPbI3 film prepared by solvent engineering process highly depends on environment and antisolvent control. Here,we provided a simple methylamine chloride(MACl)solution treatment using a two-step process to enlarge the perovskite crystal grain sizes to more than 1 lm.Other than treatment on the film surface, the MACl solution diffuses into the MAPbI_(3) films to assist the recrystallization of small crystal at the bottom of perovskite film. The imitative contact between perovskite and substrate is formed.Meanwhile, the enlargement of grain size and ten times enhancement of crystalline reduce trap-assisted recombination of perovskite films. Thus, the significant improvement of cell efficiency of 20.89%as well as device stability is obtained with the MACl treatment.Gao Wu Molang Cai Yujia Cao Zhuoxin Li Zhongyan Zhang Weng Yang Xianggang Chen Dongxu Ren Yaqi Mo Miao Yang Xuepeng Liu Songyuan Dai 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,2:1
Application of S-transform threshold filtering in Anhui experiment airgun sounding data de-noising显示文摘As a relatively new method of processing non-stationary signal with high time-frequency resolution, S transform can be used to analyze the time-frequency characteristics of seismic signals. It has the following characteristics: its time-frequency resolution corresponding to the signal frequency, reversible inverse transform, basic wavelet that does not have to meet the permit conditions. We combined the threshold method, proposed the S-transform threshold filtering on the basis of S transform timefrequency filtering, and processed airgun seismic records from temporary stations in 'Yangtze Program'(the Anhui experiment). Compared with the results of the bandpass filtering, the S transform threshold filtering can improve the signal to noise ratio(SNR) of seismic waves and provide effective help for first arrival pickup and accurate travel time. The first arrival wave seismic phase can be traced farther continuously, and the Pm seismic phase in the subsequent zone is also highlighted.Chenglong Zheng Xiaofeng Tian Zhuoxin Yang Shuaijun Wang Zhenyu Fan 2018Geodesy and Geodynamics2018,9,4:1
Crustal velocity structures and their tectonic implications in different tectonic block regions of the Chinese mainland显示文摘In this paper, the typical velocity structures and average velocities of the crust in six different active tectonic block regions are presented on the basis of previous studies and their tectonic implications are discussed. The results show that different tectonic units have different features of crustal velocity structures. In general, there are low velocity distributions in the crust in regions with strong tectonic activities, and the scales of low velocity distributions are related to the tectonic activities. The average velocities are relatively low in such regions. This reflects strong crustal deformation and the variations of states of matter in the crust resulting from strong tectonic movements. These regions are also seismically active zones frequented by strong earthquakes. Therefore, studying crustal velocity structures of these regions is of great importance to understanding crustal geodynamic process and seismogenic tectonic background.Xiankang Zhang Yonghong Duan Jinren Zhao Chengke Zhang Shixu Jia Jianshi Zhang Fuyun Wang Zhuoxin Yang Suzhen Pan 2009Earthquake Science2009,22,4:0
Effect of electroacupuncture on synaptic transmission in dentate gyrus of the hippocampus in cerebral ischemic injured rats显示文摘BACKGROUND: Some studies suggest that the long-term potentiation (LTP) of synaptic transmission may be the basis for the neural synaptic plasticity of hippocampus, but can be evoked by various factors including electroacupuncture. OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of electroacupuncture on the activities of basic synaptic transmission in dentate gyrus of hippocampus and the changes of high frequency stimulation (HFS) induced activity of synaptic transmission in cerebral ischemic injured rats. DESIGN: A randomized control trial. SETTING: Shenzhen Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine affiliated to Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. MATERIALS: Sixty healthy male Wistar rats, weighing 150-250 g, were provided by the Experimental Animal Center of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The experiment began after adaptation of environment for 1 week under standard experimental environment. The main experimental instruments included the programming electrical acupuncture apparatus (PCEA, product of the Institute of Acupuncture and Meridians, Anhui College of Traditional Chinese Medicine) and multichannel physiologic recorder (RM-86, Nihon Konden). METHODS: The experiment was carried out in Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine between July 2003 and July 2004. ① Embedding of brain electrodes: In reference of the Pellegrino’s rat brain atlas, the bipolar electrode stimulator was embedded into the perforant path (PP) anterior to the entorhinal area with location coordinates of AP 7.5 mm, L 4.2 mm and H 3.0 mm, that is, 7.5 mm posterior to the anterior fontanelle, 4.2 mm laterally on the right side and 3.0 mm under the subcortex. The subcortex recorder electrode coordinates are AP 3.8 mm, L 2.5 mm and H 3.5 mm, located in the granular cell layer of the unilateral dentate gyrus (DG) of hippocampus, at the site of which an opening with the diameter of 1.5 mm was drilled for the purpose of embedding of the stimulating and recording electrodes, and at the site by mild adjusting the positions of these electrodes where maximal population spike (PS) was recorded, fastened the electrodes at last. ② The 60 rats were randomized into two major groups, namely, fundamental stimulation (FS) group (basic group) and high frequency stimulation (HFS) group. Each group was further divided into three subgroups respectively: Sham-operated subgroup (n=10): only exposed bilateral common carotid arteries without blocking their blood flow; Cerebral ischemia model subgroup (n=10): exposing bilateral common carotid arteries and blocking their blood flow; Ischemia plus electroacupuncture subgroup (n=10): blocked blood flow of bilateral common carotid arteries and received electroacupuncture. The electroacupuncture acupoints were the points of Du meridian, including Baihui (GV20), Dazhui (GV14), and points of Ren meridian, including Qihai (CV6) and Guanyuan (CV4). ③ Process of electroacupuncture: All the rats underwent testing stimulation (1/30 Hz frequency and 0.1 ms breadth) at 30 minutes before modeling, PS values were recorded as the indexes of the excitation of DG granular cell population, and the data were input to computer for data analysis. During the experiment, the intensity of stimulation was kept stable by adopting 1/2 the value of stimulation intensity that could induce maximal PS amplitude. In the basic group, PS were recorded for 120 minutes after modeling, and among the rats in the electroacupuncture group, PS was recorded at 10 minutes before and 60 minutes after blocking blood flow in the carotid artery during continuous electrical acupuncture. In the HFS group, HFS was given immediately after modeling, PS were recorded for 180 minutes at 10 minutes after HFS was given in the sham-operated group and model group, rats in the electroacupuncture group were treated with electroacupuncture for 60 minutes at 30 minutes after HFS was given, and PS was recorded for 180 minutes after 10 minutes. LTP was triggered by HFS and PS values were determined and recorded through measuring stimulations respectively 0, 10, 30, 60, 120 and 180 minutes after the evokes. ④ Methods for expressing the level of synaptic transmission: Each testing stimulus provoked one PS, and 10 successive amplitude values (V/mV) were averaged relevant to a certain time cut. The averaged PS of 6 time cuts at 30 minutes before modeling was made as basal synaptic transmission level as control. Synaptic transmission at each time cut was expressed as: p=(Vdifferent time cut/Vbasal)×100%. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The differences of synaptic transmission level were compared among the subgroups in the basic group after models also among the subgroups in the HFS group after HFS. RESULTS: All the 60 rats were involved in the analysis of results. ① Comparison of synaptic transmission level at different time cut after modeling and the effect of electroacupuncture in the subgroups of the basic group: The synaptic transmission level in the sham-operated subgroup had no significant change within 120 minutes (P > 0.05). The synaptic transmission levels at 10, 30 and 60 minutes in the model subgroup were obviously lower than those in the sham-operated group [(60±7)%, (90±3)%, (93±4)%; (100±5)%, (102±6)%, (105±7)%, P < 0.05-0.01]. With the prolongation of time for ischemia/reperfusion, the synaptic transmission level gradually ascended to the normal level, and those at 90 and 120 minutes were close to those in the sham-operated group (P > 0.05). In the subgroup of electroacupuncture, the synaptic transmission levels at 10, 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes were obviously higher than those in the model subgroup [(93±5)%, (106±10)%, (123±16)%, (145±20)%, (168±25)%; (96±7)%, (98±8)%, P < 0.05-0.01]. ② Comparison of synaptic transmission level at different time cut after HFS and the effect of electroacupuncture in the groups: In the sham-operated group, the synaptic transmission level after HFS increased significantly, and maintained without decrease within 180 minutes. In the model group, the synaptic transmission level at 0, 10, 30, 60, 120 and 180 minutes after HFS were obviously lower than those in the sham-operated group [(60±7)%, (95±9)%, (138±11)%, (141±13)%, (140±13)%, (138±15)%; (100±6)%, (182±21)%, (179 ±18)%, (177±18)%, (175±23)%, (178±24)%, P < 0.01]. The synaptic transmission level at 60, 120 and 180 minutes after HFS in the electroacupuncture group were close to those in the sham-operated group (P > 0.05), those at 120 and 180 minutes after HFS in the electroacupuncture group were obviously higher than those in the model group [(171±22)%, (181±25)%, P < 0.05-0.01]. CONCLUSION: Electroacupuncture could enhance the basic activity of synaptic transmission in the dentate gyrus of hippocampus in cerebral ischemic injury in rats. Electroacupuncture has obvious LTP effect on the activity of synaptic transmission induced by HFS.Haibo Yu Zhuoxin Yang Ling Wang Min Pi Jiawei Zhang 2006Neural Regeneration Research2006,1,1:0
Time-dependent effects of electroacupuncture at the Ren channel on extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1/2 expression in focal cerebral ischemia rats显示文摘BACKGROUND: The onset of focal cerebral ischemia activates extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1 and 2, regulates cell cycle, promotes cell proliferation and differentiation, and affects the normal stage and function of brain cells. OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects of electroacupuncture at the Ren channel on extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1/2 expression in the lateral cerebral ventricle wall of rats with focal cerebral ischemia. The effects were analyzed at different time points after intervention. DESIGN: Randomized controlled study. SETTING: Department of Anatomy, Sun Yat-Sen University. MATERIALS: A total of 60 healthy adult male Wistar rats weighing (250±10) g were provided by the Experimental Animal Center, Medical College of Sun Yat-Sen University. The animal experiment was conducted with confirmed consent by the local ethics committee. The GB6805-Ⅱ electric acupuncture apparatus was provided by Shanghai Medical Equipment High-techno Company. METHODS: The experiment was performed at the Laboratory of Anatomy, Sun Yat-Sen University, from February to July 2007. All experimental animals were randomly divided into the following groups: normal group (n = 6), sham operation group (n = 18), model group (n = 18), and electroacupuncture group (n = 18). Middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) was performed in the model group and electroacupuncture group. Zea Longa's grading standard was used to assess neurological impairment after reperfusion; animals whose grades were between 1 and 4 were included in this study. The normal control group was not exposed to MCAO. In sham operation animals, the right common carotid artery (CCA) was isolated, and the external carotid artery (ECA) was damaged, but no embolism was induced. The electroacupuncture group was given acupuncture on the second day after surgery. The acupoint locations were chosen according to Experimental Acupuncture (People's Publishing House; 1997; First Edition). The Chengjiang, Qihai, and Guanyuan acupoints were labeled and connected to a G6805 electroacupuncture apparatus with sparse-dense waves (sparse waves were 30 Hz, dense waves were 100 Hz), with a frequency of 6-15 V. The duration was 20 minutes. Two days after surgery, the model and sham operation groups were placed with their backs on the operating table, but they received no acupuncture. However, the normal group received acupuncture. The experimental animals under anesthesia were sacrificed on days 7, 14, and 28 post-surgery. Western blot analysis was used to measure expression of extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1/2 in the inferior region of the lateral cerebral ventricle wall. Expression was measured in the normal group at time points corresponding to the sham operation group. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Expression of extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1/2 in the inferior region of the lateral cerebral ventricle wall at different time points after intervention. RESULTS: All 60 rats were included in the final analysis, without any loss. Seven days after MCAO, there was no significant difference in extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1/2 expression in the electroacupuncture group compared to the model group (P > 0.05). However, extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1/2 expression significantly increased in the model group at 14 and 28 days after treatment (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Electroacupuncture at the Ren channel can enhance extracellular signal-regulated kinases1/2 expression in the inferior region of the lateral cerebral ventricle wall of rats with focal cerebral ischemia. However, this effect is not apparent until 14 days after electroacupuncture intervention.Zhuoxin Yang Lihong Diao Haibo Yu Wenshu Luo Ling Wang Min Pi Xiaodan Rao Junhua Peng 2008Neural Regeneration Research2008,3,1:0
S-wave velocity structure in Tangshan earthquake region and its adjacent areas from joint inversion of receiver functions and surface wave dispersion显示文摘Using the seismic records of 83 temporary and 17 permanent broadband seismic stations deployed in Tangshan earthquake region and its adjacent areas(39°N–41.5°N,115.5°E–119.5°E),we conducted a nonlinear joint inversion of receiver functions and surface wave dispersion. We obtained some detailed information about the Tangshan earthquake region and its adjacent areas, including sedimentary thickness,Moho depth, and crustal and upper mantle S-wave velocity.Meanwhile,we also obtained the vP/vS structure along two sections across the Tangshan region. The results show that:(1)the Moho depth ranges from 30 km to 38 km,and it becomes shallower from Yanshan uplift area to North China basin;(2)the thickness of sedimentary layer ranges from 0 km to 3 km,and it thickens from Yanshan uplift region to North China basin;(3)the S-wave velocity structure shows that the velocity distribution of the upper crust has obvious correlation with the surface geological structure, while the velocity characteristics of the middle and lower crust are opposite to that of the upper crust.Compared with the upper crust, the heterogeneity of the middle and lower crust is more obvious;(4)the discontinuity of Moho on the two sides of Tangshan fault suggests that Tangshan fault cut the whole crust, and the low vS and high vP/vS beneath the Tangshan earthquake region may reflect the invasion of mantle thermal material through Tangshan fault.Yanna Zhao Yonghong Duan Zhuoxin Yang Zhanyong Gao 2020Earthquake Science2020,33,1:0
Electroacupuncture at Ren channel point combined with injection of basic fibroblast growth factors for neural stem cell proliferation in subventricular zone of cerebral ischemic side显示文摘BACKGROUND: Electroacupuncture at Ren channel point can treat stroke and generate some neurodevelopment-related growth factors, which are associated with the proliferation and differentiation of stem cells. OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of electroacupuncture at Ren channel point combined with injection of basic fibroblast growth factors (bFGF) on the expression of 5-bromo-2-deoxyuridine (BrdU)-labeled and BrdU/Neuroepthelial stem cell protein (Nestin)-labeled positive cells in subventricular zone of cerebral ischemic rats. DESIGN: Completely randomized grouping design and controlled trial. SETTING: Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, Shenzhen Hospital, Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. MATERIALS: Eighty-four adult healthy male Wistar rats were involved and divided into 5 groups by a lot: blank group (n =6), sham-operation group (n =6), model group (n =26), injection of bFGF group (bFGF group, n =24) and electroacupuncture at Ren channel combined with injection of bFGF group (bFGF group, n =22). Three time points were set in each of the latter three groups for observation: 7, 14 and 28 days after ischemia respectively. Mouse BrdU and Nestin monoclonal antibody (analytical pure, China), G6805 electro-acupuncture apparatus (Huayi Medical Instrument, Shanghai) and Olympus FV 500 laser confocal microscope (Olympus Company) were used. METHODS: This trial was carried out in the Laboratory of Anatomy, Medical College of Sun Yat-sen University from September 2004 to July 2005. ① Except for blank group and sham-operation group, the rats in the other groups were prepared into rat models of local cerebral ischemia by suture-occluded method. The rats were reperfused, and then they were graded in neurologic deficits based on neurological scoring of Longa. Rat model was successful when the neurological scoring ranged from 1 to 4 points and used for the trial. Blank group was untouched; Right common carotid artery was isolated and right external carotid artery was dissected without embolism in the sham-operation group. On the 2nd day after operation, the rats in the combination group were given acupuncture at Chengjiang, Qihai and Guanyuan point, then, electro-acupuncture apparatus, with sparse wave 30 Hz, dense wave 100 Hz, intensity 6 to 15 V, was used to stimulate these three points. Stimulation standard was based on the slight trill appeared in the corresponding position, and the stimulation lasted 20 minutes. After being acupunctured, the rats were intramuscularly injected with 4 000 U/d, and administration was immediately after reperfusion, after this, bFGF was intramuscularly injected following acupuncture, once a day. In the bFGF group, the rats were intramuscularly injected with bFGF on the 2nd day after operation. The dosage and time of injection were the same as those in the combination group. The rats in the model group and sham-operation group were mounted on the acupuncture bench for 20 minutes on the 2nd day after operation, and acupuncture was omitted. ② The expressions of BrdU-labeled positive cells ( reflect cell proliferation) and BrdU/Nestin-labeled positive cells (reflect neural stem cells proliferation) in the lateral subventricular zone were determined by immunofluorescence. Positive cells were counted in five visual fields using 200-fold Olympus FV 500 laser confocal microscope system. ③ One-way analysis of variance was used for multiple comparison of the mean of samples. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The effect of electroacupuncture combined with injection of bFGF on the number of BrdU and BrdU/Nestin-labeled positive cells in subventricular region of cerebral ischemic side. RESULTS: Altogether 8,6 and 4 rats in model group, combination group and bFGF group died respectively during modeling, finally 6 rats respectively in the normal group and sham-operation group and 18 rats respectively i.e., 6 rats at each time point, in the model group, combination group and bFGF group were involved in the result analysis.① 7 days after cerebral ischemia, BrdU and BrdU/Nestin-labeled positive cells in the model group were (272.6±36.9)and(65.3±11.8)/5 visual fields, respectively, which were more than those of normal group [(47.2±6.1) ,(15.6±4.2) /5 visual fields,P < 0.01], but less than those in the bFGF group [(365.5±42.7),(82.9±12.2) /5 visual fields] and in the combination group [(427.8±46.9) ,(125.6±18.5) /5 visual fields, P < 0.01]. The BrdU and BrdU/Nestin-labeled positive cells in the bFGF group were significantly less than those in the combination group (P < 0.05). ② 14 days after cerebral ischemia, the BrdU and BrdU/Nestin-labeled positive cells in the model group were significantly more than those in the blank group [(184.7±28.1),(46.5±9.6) /5 visual fields, P < 0.01], but less than those in the bFGF group [(259.4±32.8),(68.1±10.1) /5 visual fields] and combination group [(308.6±34.2),(87.2±16.9) /5 visual fields, P < 0.01]. The BrdU and BrdU/Nestin-labeled positive cells in the bFGF group were significantly less than those in the combination group (P < 0.05). ③ 28 days after cerebral ischemia, the BrdU and BrdU/Nestin-labeled positive cells in the model group were close to those in the normal group [(51.3±8.4),(17.8±5.3) /5 visual fields, P > 0.05], but significantly less than those in the bFGF group [(128.1±23.6),(41.3±11.4) /5 visual fields]and in the combination group [(162.5±26.1),(62.3±15.8) /5 visual fields, P < 0.01]. The BrdU and BrdU/Nestin-labeled positive cells in the bFGF group were significantly less than those in the combination group (P < 0.05). ④ There were no significant differences in BrdU/Nestin-labeled and Nestin-labeled positive cells between sham-operation group and normal group(P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: Electroacupuncture at Ren channel point alone or combined with injection of bFGF can significantly promote neural stem cell proliferation of rats after local cerebral ischemia. Electroacupuncture at Ren channel point and injection of bFGF have synergistic effect.Min Pi Lihong Diao Haibo Yu Xiaodan Rao Ling Wang Yuansheng Liu Wenshu Luo Zhuoxin Yang 2006Neural Regeneration Research2006,1,5:0
Alterations in nutrient digestion and utilization associated with different residual feed intake in Hu sheep显示文摘Improving feed efficiency is crucial to the animal industry.Residual feed intake(RFI)is now regarded as an index of feed efficiency evaluation and is independent of growth characteristics. Our study aims to explore the alterations in growth performance and nutrient digestion in Hu sheep with different RFI phenotypes.Sixty-four male Hu sheep(body weight=24.39±1.12 kg;postnatal days=90±7.9)were selected for the study. After an evaluation period of 56 days and power analysis, samples were collected from 14 low RFI(L-RFI group,power=0.95)and 14 high RFI sheep(H-RFI group,power=0.95).The L-RFI sheep yielded a lower(P<0.05)feed conversion ratio and dry matter intake;however, both groups exhibited similar average daily gain(P>0.05).The acid detergent fiber, neutral detergent fiber, organic matter, and crude protein apparent digestibility were higher(P<0.05)in L-RFI sheep.N intake and fecal N output(%of N intake)were lower(P<0.05)and N retention(%of N intake)was higher(P<0.05)in L-RFI sheep, whereas no difference(P>0.05)was found in urine N output(%of N intake)between the 2 groups.Furthermore,L-RFI sheep gave lower(P<0.05)serum glucose concentrations and higher(P<0.05)non-esterified fatty acid concentrations.Meanwhile,a lower ruminal acetate molar proportion(P<0.05)and higher propionate molar proportion(P<0.05)were observed in L-RFI sheep. In summary, these results revealed that despite having lower dry matter intake,L-RFI sheep possess higher nutrient digestibility,N retention, ruminal propionate production and serum glucose utilization,in order to meet energy demands.Selection for low RFI sheep could reduce feed costs, which in turn provides economic benefits to the sheep industry.Hongbo Zeng Yuyang Yin Lingxi Chen Zhuoxin Xu Yang Luo Qian Wang Bin Yang Jiakun Wang 2023Animal Nutrition2023,,2:0
Exploration and Study of Deep Crustal Structure in the Quanzhou Basin and Its Adjacent Area显示文摘The Quanzhou basin and its adjacent areas locate in the middle of the southeastern coast seismic belt on the Chinese mainland. The very fine geometry structure of this area from near ground to Moho interface and the relationship between the deep and shallow faults are obtained based on deep seismic reflection profiling. This profile is the first deep seismic reflection profile in this area and it indicates that the crust can be divided into the upper crust and the lower crust and the thickness of crust is from 29.5 km to 31 km in this area. The upper crust and the lower crust can be also divided into two layers. There are shallow normal faults developed in the upper crust and extending to the depth from 6 km to 12 km. The angle of those listric faults decreases with depth and the faults joint into the C1 interface (detachment surface). There is a high angle fault under the Yong’an-Jinjiang fault belt which cuts off the interface of the upper crust and the lower crust and the Moho interface. Although there is no connection between the shallow and the deep faults, it offers deep structural environment for moderate and strong earthquake because of the deep high angle fault. This exploration result improves the reliability and precision of explanation of deep crustal structure in this area. The pull-apart and listric normal fault model indicates that the upper crust structure accords to the dynamic process of Taiwan Straits. This is helpful for seismicity estimation of Quanzhou and its adjacent area and important for obtaining more of the dynamic process of the southeast coast seismic belt.Zhu Jinfang Fang Shengming Zhang Xiankang Qu Guosheng Huang Zonglin Hong Xing Liu Baojin Yang Zhuoxin Duan Yonghong 2006Earthquake Research in China2006,20,3:0
MULTI-SCALE DECOMPOSITION OF BOUGUER GRAVITY ANOMALY AND SEISMIC ACTIVITY IN NORTH CHINA显示文摘Bouguer gravity anomaly in North China is decomposed with multi scale decomposition technique of wavelet transform. Gravity anomalies produced by anomalous density bodies of various scales are revealed from surface to Moho. Characteristics of anomalies of different orders and corresponding structural features are discussed. The result shows that details of wavelet transform of different orders reflect the distribution features of rock density at different depths and in various scales. In most cases, the two sides of a fault especially a deep and large fault in North China differ greatly in rock density. This difference records the history of the formation and evolution of the crust. Deep structural setting for the \%M\%s≥7.0 strong earthquakes in this region is also discussed.Fang Shengming, Zhang Xiankang, Jia Shixu, Duan Yonghong, Yang Zhuoxin and Qiu Shuyan (Geophysical of Exploration Center, CEA, Zhengzhou 450002, China) 2003大地测量与地球动力学2003,23,B12:0
